Awesome work as usual. You are an amazing inspiration for my paint work. I haven’t jumped into airbrushing yet, but that’s next for me. Also, on top of your amazing work, very easy to follow directions, your video editing is top notch! Super professional.
Mixing colors is tricky, it varies on brand of paint and chemical properties… I rarely get the same color tone … I’ll have write down the recipe each time
Yes , I was surprised myself… I only used the second copy for video purposes but it ended up being blue because of the cape… I really like it thanks for watching
Great video, and we'll done. You made the blue/gray look appealing. I found mine easily ar Wal-Mart. And MY Wal-Mart NEVER gets anything. I was already thinking of painting the trunks black, but that cape looks awesome.
Awesome work 👍. With the cape wht if it's 1 thts hand made frm similar fabric as mezco?. Bcuz I usually make my capes frm scratch. Example I buy the fabrics which I need & start frm there. I usually feel 'if-ee' purchasing stuff on-line
It’s always a chance you take when purchases online…. The Mezco capes are always a reliable material… the deal is knowing which model I goes to… yes that’s why I make my own when possible.. yet it is a time saver when fabricated cape fits like a glove…. But not always the case… and most customizers don’t sew .. My next video is producing a cape from scratch
I looked everywhere for that very specific cape you're using. That wouldn't happen to come from the Mezco One:12 Ascending Knight Bats by any chance, would it? It looks exactly like what I've been looking for: not too long, but not too short. It's just right.
@@InkDropCustoms great job! I used Mr super clear on an sh figuarts and the rubber parts got a little bit sticky. do you also have the problem with the McFarlane? cause i also started some customs but I'm afraid to use it on them 😅
I haven’t had it become sticky on the McFarlane plastics…. I do find that oils from hand deteriorate it very quickly…..so I have to respray it for touch up ..
@@lazergator1016 @Ink Drop Customs thank you two for the answer! I researched a bit more and I will try liquitex matte finish. because it's acrylic based, maybe it won't be sticky on rubber 🤔🤔 because the Tamiya acrylic paints are also not sticky when painted with the brush. just sprays get sticky 🤔
Did you paint the figure a different color blue than what the cape came with? You didn’t show us any details there and the final shots are hard to see…
These are just ideas… i only added shading…. I have many videos on painting… The cape material is a different blue… you can use which ever color is available at the fabric store that is closest to the one needed… lots of techniques are repeated in several videos , its all in the artist eye.. Thanks for watching
Speaking of dye, have you dyed any of these McFarlane dc multiverse figures I bought an extra 3 jokers Batman to dye it black for an all black dcuc/keaton inspired Batman with the year 2 head cast in black!
I haven’t taken dye to my figures yet…. I do have a spare that can take some dye, I’ll have make a video since it seems to be a recurring topic.. I’ll post my findings once I complete a few pieces Thanks again for watching
I tried doing mine in blue as a cheap alternative to the year two but the acrylic paint isn't sticking to anything but the trunks. From a distance it looks good but I want to make it perfect. I haven't started airbrushing yet I have to find a setup that's affordable.
Oh no! try the Vallejo Premium paint... multi surface paint. I recommend a all in one airbrush -- mini rechargeable .. great starter for small projects
Great video! One question tho.. heard you saying you used Mr Superclear before you started with the painting. Is that the same Superclear you used after the painting or did you used a different one?
@@InkDropCustoms Thnxx for the fast reply, so from my understanding you used 2 times a matte varnish but from 2 different brands? You used the "Luquitex" matte varnish before painting and after painting "Superclear" Matte Varnish? (Sorry but my english isn't my first language).
To create the shadows an airbrush is best. I don’t use solvents so when airbrushing small amounts a mask or resperator int a requirement…yes for prolonged amounts of time spraying lacquer or solvent
All my figures are for sale …. I still have the blue / grey-- many have asked … Price is $125 $20 shipping PayPal only ID: Photobella@mac.com Let me know soon before someone claims it.
Great work! Made the figure even better with your mod. For me Batman always has to have the trunks, it breaks up the grey nicely and its a better design as well.
showing your paint job with a color theme light doesn't do it justice, next time use simple white color lamp. honestly can't see your paint job result at all.
$20+ for a cape off ebay made of $5 worth of material is insane lol. Tired of people over charging for literally everything on ebay, head sculpts go for $30-60.
SHADING. that's what the modern McFarlane Toys are missing. The paint looks very bland and just solid colors, in comparison to the late 90s early 2000s "non-poseable" figures. Those were works of art, the monster series, movie maniacs... Etc. Great job.
Thanks Yes, these figures lack lots of paint apps. This is not his property like Spawn. I guess with prices going up , we will see less accessories or paint apps to keep the $20 price point.. Thanks again for watching
@@InkDropCustoms I totally understand and hear you. I was an avid collector of the original figure lines, there was so much detail in them down to the finger tips. Now these figures look ok but very "mass produced" like in the hands and legs, but I do get how that keeps them cheaper and faster to make. But regardless, you do amazing work hopefully more and more people see your talents.
Went back and found this video and again, you are the lead in customs in my book! Great job and a super final figure! Inspiring!
Thanks again!
