Love their heavy sound and this one rocks for sure but the beginning and the ending was a surprise which is also why I like how they incorporate the variations in sounds and melodies. Not only are they interesting to listen to, they are interesting to watch. What a great band.

You mentioned their sound and wondered what kind of equipment they are recording with. There's a video on TH-cam where Wajima goes through his amp and pedals, all of which are 100% analog and some he even made himself! He particularly mentions that he doesn't like the way digital pedals make the guitars sound. I absolutely love how their passion for music isn't just limited to songwriting and performing, but also finding the best sounds for them (and if you can't find it, then create it yourself :D)!

Based on the story of “To shi syun” (Japanese version), the ending part is telling everyone to keep in faith and hope.

@@JohiPlays To be more precise, "Toshishun" is main character of famous "Chuanqi" that short story "Toshishun-den" in Classical Chinese first formed in the Tang dynasty.
Ningen Isu's song inspired by a short story "Toshishun"(based on "Toshishun-den") by Ryunosuke Akutagawa(very famous Japanese writer).

"Toshishun" despairs of people who are kind when they have money and cold when they don't, so he undergoes a test to become a hermit.
The test is that no matter what happens, he must not make a sound.
Even when "Toshishun" was attacked by a tiger or a giant snake, even when he was killed by a god, even when he fell into hell and suffered, he did not utter a single word.
The angry king of hell brought his parents, who were also in hell like "Toshishun", and had them beaten severely by demons in front of him.
"Toshishun" had been mute, but when he realized how much his mother cared for him, he couldn't take it anymore and shouted, "Mother".
As soon as he shouted, "Toshishun" was brought back to reality.
Everything he had experienced up to that point was an illusion that the hermit had shown him.
The hermit gave "Toshishun" a house and a field at the foot of Mount Tai, and left.

I can tell you what happened to the poor guy... what I have seen... meow meow...
Toshishun was born with a silver spoon, grown lazy to eat up the heritage, totally broke and got tired to live. Met a hermit and begged a help to become a hermit, told to keep silent whatever happens until the hermit comes back. On top of the mountain, kept silent even bitten by a snake and beasts, killed by angry reapers and fell into hell, remained silent even tortured by demons ...
(Japanese version of the story) Saw his parents get beaten in hell. Toshishun cried and begged mercy, the nightmare ended and the hermit showed up, Toshishun swore to live straight. The hermit gave him a house and farm.
(Chinese version of the story) Saw his wife get beaten in hell but ignored, the angry daemon king reincarnated him as a girl, grown up and got married a man, gave a birth to a child but she never spoke a word and been calm like a hermit. The man scared of the creepy dumb wife and killed the child. Toshishun cried for sorrow, the nightmare ended and the hermit shown up. "You almost freed yourself from desires but failed for an affection to relatives", the hermit said and never come back.
