What a great reaction, Petra! I loved it! As usual, you are very good at this! :) It's great to see older guys in their late fifties still rocking away, haha! Ningen Isu translates as "The Human Chair", which is a weird Japanese thriller story from 1925. As you can probably tell by listening, their main influence is Black Sabbath, and the lead guitar player even uses the same guitar (a a Gibson SG) as Black Sabbath's lead guitar player Tony iommi. This song starts out with him praying to various deities for himself, but he realizes by the end of the song that he should be praying for blessings for everyone.
The tranquil Ancient east meets chaotic modern metal west and voila! Something very uniquely special happens. Compliments of the fabulous icon of Sweden, Petra Viklund. Thanks for the grand reaction, my dear, and a hearty welcome back.
Nice to know we’re not the only place still suffering with the weather. 🇨🇦 great band though eh. Love that deep classic heavy metal with the sabbath like bass.
So, a first for both of us. I was searching for Ningen Isu's new song (Listening to them off and on since the early '90s) and I found you. Good to meet ya! Complete joy on this end watching/listening to this with you. Like having a friend in the room. Kenichi (bass) is monumental in their songs, always has been. Just stop and think that everything that is behind the lead guitar is him and only him. Thank you!
Well, going by the lyrics, a point was made that a lot gets lost in translation. There were quite a few points I was like, "Huh?" Lol. Really good though.
Heartless scat - NINGEN ISU BAND If you, Holy Angels, do exist in this universe Will you bless me on the cheeks? With my painful effort never paid off I've just been standing in the shadow Will the day come someday when I can fly high in the sky? Will the day come when I can see the Sun? Tell me, Holy Angels Shabadabadia Shabadabadia Babababa Shabadabadia Shabadabadia Babababa If you, Divine Goddess, are staying hidden somewhere Why don't you smile at me on my forehead? I've never tasted the nectar of victory I’ve never succeeded in love Will the day come when I can get intoxicated by the victory? Will the day come when I can embrace love? Tell me, Divine Goddess Shabadabadia Shabadabadia Babababa Shabadabadia Shabadabadia Babababa Countless stars are twinkling in the sky Every one of us is under them With a thousand wishes in each heart Lululu Lululu If you, Lord Buddha, really exist in some place Please have mercy on me, too Having nothing precious in my possession Desolated Isolated I've been living my life with a series of failures Will the day come when I can totally be satisfied? I wish there was a way to give extra credit to your reaction to this song, you have been one of the few who actually read the lyrics and thought about them. Most reactions I have seen are much more shallow.
Thank you! Love your reaction!
The lyrics of this song is a prayer.

It's too long for my preference. Otherwise, I like the song but not necessarily the video.
