Queen Mary is the ULTIMATE university experience in London. Besides the excellent academic staff, life in Mile End Campus is a DREAM. 7 years a later the uni life is deep in my soul. I loved every day I passed there. The people I met, the environment all were far above expectations.

i just got back from offer holders day at qmul and i loved the graveyard. idk how it looked like a few years ago, but it is beautiful with all of those flowers blooming
I must point out that as a current physics student at QM, our administration is actually really useful. I've changed from BSc Physics and Astrophysics to MSci Physics and Astrophysics to MSci Theoretical Physics super quickly and efficiently every time. I've also requested to go for a second year module when going into third year and they were super helpful about it! So I believe it depends on the school/department you're in. You're so right about the food options, healthy food is hard to find when you have spoons right next door and Bancroft SUCKS! Great video :)
Thank you so much for the insight Jennifer! It's good to know that the administration is better in other departments, I was too general with my point. Hahaha, I totally get you with spoons, spent a large proportion of my time at QM there
Hlo jennifer i am planning to take MSc astrophysics from QM University and i would like to know the educational atmosphere and placement facilities etc
"there is a graveyard in the middle of campus" brings me back to my elementary memories where its located literally next to a graveyard and I would have to pass by it everyday like in the morning at 6am DAMN
I am considering applying to QMUL and I am so glad you have addressed the expectation x reality on the campus location. Living in Brazil, I have never heard of Mile End and now I'll bear in mind the pictures and what you said about it hahah also I think it resonates what you have said about the cheap rent on the pros video (cheaper location, lower building quality)
I was actually scared when I clicked on this vid because I'm going to queen mary but if anything it makes me feel safer with my choice lmao mile end is sketchy? One bad thing about queen mary is that it's in London? She fully picked the wrong uni
I cannot put the facts the way Claudia you have put it! These are so so accurate and I have spend one year at QM ; the careers team really suck! I have to now apply for summer analyst positions despite having excellent work experience, I don't think I will get any coz there is no support from QM Careers. If Claudia or anyone else can help me how to deal with this situation: editing CV as per application, Prep for video interview & online exams etc, I would be very grateful.
No City University of London and Bayes Business school have like a graveyard with thieves in front of the university roaming around. Many students were mugged. You were so lucky with Queen Mary with food options :)
Even though it’s in east london it’s SO close to central- I should know since I live on campus and my view is of the gherkin. It’s also a great student area for food places. Also, there are loads of food places if you walk further down and they’re not all kebab shops. And even though I know this is a cons video the graveyard is so rich with history: it’s a graveyard for Jewish people from the First World War and I personably think it’s a really valuable part of campus :)
I completely agree that it's close to central, it's super convenient and I do mention this in my QM pros video. The point that I raised in this video was not it's proximity to central, but the area in itself. Also I do think the graveyard has a really valuable history and definitely not discrediting the lives of those who were buried - that point was mainly used as an example of how the QM campus isn't the most appealing looking (I think this is indisputable) and how it might look pretty creepy to some people.
@@cloudsjooI honestly don't understand why the campus looks SO bad. It's almost as if this was on purpose - they literally put a graveyard right in the middle! And even the new G E Fogg building still looks intimidating and, let's be honest, not that aesthetically pleasing.
"where is big ben" hahaha omg. this was really informative! I was looking at a short study abroad program in london and these were some of my thoughts too.. it would be a lottttt more expensive and would it really be that different from studying at home? I think i'd rather just save my $$ and visit on my own time!
Queen Mary is in zone 2 so not central London like zone 1. We do have the best London Campus though and during lockdown all other unis including UCL, imperial, LSE etc came to our university for the social life haha

Do you realise that the Mile End station is 5 mins away from uni and just one stop to Stratford city Mall which is one of the biggest in London, with countless restaurants etc. Also, you're like 10 mins away via train to the CENTRE of London. No hate, but that point was super unrealistic and misleading.
I completely agree, Mile End is in close proximity to a lot of great places in London - I even mentioned in my other video about QMUL. In the context of this video, my point was that the area where the university is located itself is not the nicest, which I still stand by. Does not necessarily mean that you are far from places that are great.
of course the business school doesnt have a good career service haha girl you should've tried going to other schools at qm which are waaay more professional than SBM
I studied my Engineering Degree there in the 90's, when it was QMW, UoL. Literally. QMUL is definitely not the university to apply to for all that. You'd be better off going to UCL, KCL or LSE for a central London experience. It's like wanting Midtown/Times Square NYC and then moving to the Bronx.

Hi Clouds. I love your videos and have been binge-watching them since Monday. Do you have any idea how is the Computer Science building? I think it's a different building from an engineering one, and there are literally just 2 pictures on their website. I am about to start an MSc in AI. Also, do you know if a graduate centre is available for anyone to enter- if I want to study there as MSc student? I heard that the library has not have much study space.
Guys, I am confused between the Queen Mary University of London and the University of Liverpool. Can you suggest which one should i choose, it's for my Master's program in Management.
Where would you suggest to live for a first year? Where it is the safest and with a kitchen accomplice. Also where did u live? Thanks for two great vids
Can you expand on the safety aspect of it? It seems like the perfect uni but I am so scared of it being a dangerous area, especially as a solo female. I've heard you will be targeted if you're not from the area too, how true is that?
hi! I'm a current QM student and i've lived around the mile end area my whole life (queen mary is actually just my local university). I'd say mile end is honestly not that dangerous, I've walked home alone to and from friends' houses all the time around there and nothing has ever happened.. It just feels a bit sketchy / superficially dangerous because the area and local community is a bit unfriendly.
@@samiharahman1700 queens Belfast is seen as the best university in Northern Ireland, Queen Mary's probably doesn't have the same high status as that. Depends on your priorities.
Hi, is the career services used by the whole school eg The law department or do they specialize per department? And was Admin slow all year round or was it a one time thing? - I received a conditional offer for the Law LLB-so this is very important to me thanks in advance:)
So I have gotten other viewers who told me the admin in their departments is a lot quicker, so I think it depends on what QM department you are in. As for the career services, I believe there is one for the school as a whole, and then some independent resources per department (so Law school would have its own career resources for its students). Also - in regards to Law, it's kind of like medicine where QM is actually very highly ranked in the UK. QM Law is known to be one of the best Law courses in the country, so I think certain cons mentioned in this video do not apply to it.
In my experience the school of business adin is wack but a lot of the other schools seem to be better! also dont forget green pepper for that post drapers chow down!
I went here, graduated and had scholarships for Oxbridge - ended up at Cambridge. London is a big city, bimbo. St. Pauls is awesome, but just because it's in London it doesn't mean that QMC is next door.BTW, Queen Mary is a college, sweetie, not a university.
I really wanted to go to this uni but now im unsure. I ve always been worried about the saftey aspect especially as a women. Is it safe enough to go out to the centre for dinner but then return to campus at 10.30?
@@edenm4613 Not confident either. I mean 2 were ok (not amazing) but then i do maths and literally was the worst set of papers ever. My brain stopped working and i ended up missing a few. That one really sets me back
QM is extremely diverse, there is definitely a large BAME population in campus. Most of my friends were actually POC, I don't know the actual stats but I'm sure the uni ranks quite high in diversity.
@@mxdzx1.010 :( they're still great unis for academics and if you went you could always join clubs at student central which is a giant SU for all the university of London unis
Honestly, I feel like with all that you've said it is quite evident that you didn't do enough (if any) research before applying to QM. I mean, how did you not know that the uni was in London??? Also, there's so much entitlement and ludicrous bitching and moaning going on in this video with respect to location, food, gyms, etc. Like babes, I went to QM too, there are so many gym options that are cheap if you pay attention, and in the same vein, there is a plethora of options when it comes to dining out that is both healthy, and easy on your pocket (IN MILE END!). You obviously didn't spend any amount of time to discover them, and that's on you, your laziness in that regard cannot be attributed to a university not delivering it to you lol. And finally, the ranking system isn't the same across the board, I hope you know that (I mean, that would be considered basic research if anything whilst picking a uni to study at), it depends on the department (Law, Engineering, Finance, etc.) and the rating for some of these departments are really high, Law for example is on par with LSE, and King's. All in all, you made an ill-informed decision, probably wasted your time at uni cribbing about all that you don't have instead of exploring and experiencing all that London has to offer, and in the end decided to make a pretty tragically put-together video on why you think you didn't get the experience you were "promised". Moral: Be smart, stay humble, and look inward. x
the finance department is one of the worst, i paid half of tuition my father had a stroke, told them I have to go back and will not be able to continue my studies. it was only 3 weeks through the course and they refused to refund me the money. the professors were so bad and unseless, thats y when i decided to go back to grad school I chose SOAS over this shithall. P.S. a lecturer (a useless one) who was kicked out of SOAS for sharing the exam questions was immediately hired by QM because his wife was at QM.
You're so right, administration and career services at QMUL are so baaaad 👎 Especially if you're a non native speaker they are as useful as a punch in the face

I work for QMUL (HSS - humanities and social sciences) and not everything this girl is saying is true 😂 for a start, Mile End is a Very Nice part of East London running along the regent's canal, a two bed flat in the area starts at £500,000 and houses in the Bow area (100 metres away) routinely sell for over a £1m, look this up on Rightmove or any other real estate agency in the area Mile end is a predominantly Asian area with local authority run social housing for the borough's, Bangladeshi population hence why this clown girl is, without any reference, claiming mile end is sketchy when it isn't. I've worked at QMUL for 15 years and mile end has NEVER been dangerous in any way shape or form Crime, violent crime, drugs and gambling is far worse in CHINA TOWN in West London than anywhere in East London (I've lived in London all my life) this girl is talking out of her rear end

@@amirqazi15any regrets?
@@Rielle5222 no regrets. 3 best years of my life. Secured a full time offer at a big 4 firm, graduated top of the class, and now off to LSE to pursue finance. What a great time to reply to this comment. Woah!
How is Queen Mary's for Msc in Advanced Computer Science? I received an offer, I like the curriculum and the research department.
Were you after a doctor or dentist boyfriend why it mattered to you medical students at the St. Barts campus stuck to themselves?
Guys, I am confused between the Queen Mary University of London and the University of Liverpool. Can you suggest which one should i choose, it's for my Master's program in Management.
Tysm it was really very useful

Where would you suggest to live for a first year? Where it is the safest and with a kitchen accomplice. Also where did u live? Thanks for two great vids
Helo sister how Queens marry uni are availabe in mbbs cours plz tell me
Kebaab shops 💀🤣🤣🤣🤣
Is Queen Mary university of London good for Msc in business analytics now?
Can you expand on the safety aspect of it? It seems like the perfect uni but I am so scared of it being a dangerous area, especially as a solo female. I've heard you will be targeted if you're not from the area too, how true is that?
hi! I'm a current QM student and i've lived around the mile end area my whole life (queen mary is actually just my local university). I'd say mile end is honestly not that dangerous, I've walked home alone to and from friends' houses all the time around there and nothing has ever happened.. It just feels a bit sketchy / superficially dangerous because the area and local community is a bit unfriendly.
@@teacup2301 thank you for this reply! This is insightful
I recently received my unconditional offer Letter from QMUL should I go for it

East london is absolut shithole. Everyon know dis

#10 is the reason you have #5, because Barts is a top Med School and QM bosses are forcing us to become QM without giving anything back to Barts.
I just got an offer letter from QMUL. Please tell me if the education is good :(
there are a lot of pros to going to Queen Mary! Please watch my video on the 10 best things, I personally had an amazing time at QMUL
@@cloudsjoo i did. But i also got an offer letter from Queens belfast, i am very confused between the two.
@@samiharahman1700 queens Belfast is seen as the best university in Northern Ireland, Queen Mary's probably doesn't have the same high status as that. Depends on your priorities.
@@adjjal thank you. I chose the university of Manchester as my firm, and Queens belfast as my insurance. I declined the offer from QMUL.

Hi, is the career services used by the whole school eg The law department or do they specialize per department? And was Admin slow all year round or was it a one time thing? -
I received a conditional offer for the Law LLB-so this is very important to me thanks in advance:)
Hi...are u in QMUL or graduated? If yes pls share ur experience there as I have also received an offer from There
Any MSc.Computational Engineering from Queen Mary University of London?
I agree with you. Their administration is very slow🤦
In my experience the school of business adin is wack but a lot of the other schools seem to be better! also dont forget green pepper for that post drapers chow down!
Barts don't want to be part of QM
Is there difference in the campus between qm barts and the rest of qm, which one have better facility?
I went here, graduated and had scholarships for Oxbridge - ended up at Cambridge. London is a big city, bimbo. St. Pauls is awesome, but just because it's in London it doesn't mean that QMC is next door.BTW, Queen Mary is a college, sweetie, not a university.
The uni is literally called Queen Mary University of London??? No idea what you're on about but sure
Lol its literally a university, idk what u on about
No need to be so patronising, it advertises itself as a London Uni and it is quite literally a university
It's called a university in marketing to attract ignorant foreign students who tend to look down at colleges as lesser institutions.
@@cloudsjoo It's called a university in marketing to attract ignorant foreign students who tend to look down on colleges as lesser institutions.

How much for a master in queens mary university???
How diverse was the uni in terms of black people?
QM is extremely diverse, there is definitely a large BAME population in campus. Most of my friends were actually POC, I don't know the actual stats but I'm sure the uni ranks quite high in diversity.
@@cloudsjoo hi! was the diversity similar to UCL/KCL ?? I’m applying to UCL and KCL and really want to have POC friends ❣️
@@mxdzx1.010 ucl and kcl are *significantly* less diverse than qm 69% of qm is bame vs 18% at ucl and 30% at kcl
@@collectivesecurity3074 aw man :((
@@mxdzx1.010 :( they're still great unis for academics and if you went you could always join clubs at student central which is a giant SU for all the university of London unis

Ka-Bob shops and the graveyard is haunted!
I'm coming this year for business management
the finance department is one of the worst, i paid half of tuition my father had a stroke, told them I have to go back and will not be able to continue my studies. it was only 3 weeks through the course and they refused to refund me the money. the professors were so bad and unseless, thats y when i decided to go back to grad school I chose SOAS over this shithall. P.S. a lecturer (a useless one) who was kicked out of SOAS for sharing the exam questions was immediately hired by QM because his wife was at QM.
3:43 well babes i’m sorry they lied to u and everyone that grew up outside of london💀
Is LBS only for post graduate or for undergraduate courses too?
QM drop put here! I'm a lot happier at my new uni. Better London unis out there too!

omg. Go watch manomite. He is a sick youtuber from cov but goes to qmul. He can defo help you!
Who's doing economics at QMUL? Bump. Bump.
QMUL = AWFUL student quality! Enough said.
I work for QMUL (HSS - humanities and social sciences) and not everything this girl is saying is true 😂 for a start, Mile End is a Very Nice part of East London running along the regent's canal, a two bed flat in the area starts at £500,000 and houses in the Bow area (100 metres away) routinely sell for over a £1m, look this up on Rightmove or any other real estate agency in the area
Mile end is a predominantly Asian area with local authority run social housing for the borough's, Bangladeshi population hence why this clown girl is, without any reference, claiming mile end is sketchy when it isn't. I've worked at QMUL for 15 years and mile end has NEVER been dangerous in any way shape or form
Crime, violent crime, drugs and gambling is far worse in CHINA TOWN in West London than anywhere in East London (I've lived in London all my life) this girl is talking out of her rear end
This is so confusing, everyone online who says they live there says the complete opposite to you
@@bananabrain2996
That's their opinion because one could easily say there are parts of Knightsbridge one wouldn't be safe in (for example).
Mile end isn't heaven but it's no where near as bad as this girl is claiming
@@J.K.Barrik I mean I think it would be an accurate description for any part that's a bit dodgy, as I think this was aimed at students who don't know London like foreign students or from villages
