Nice video, I wish I had seen this video before I applied to university
I was at Birkbeck. I agree with the social scene there. However, the teaching quality is extremely great. Happy to see it being recognised.
I'm not surprised at your comment that the teaching quality is great. A lot of senior colleagues chose to study part time there because of the evening classes but also they heard of the great teaching.
I'm also going to study in birkbeck
Best of luck in your studies !
Can you please tell me how it is
I haven't found much info about this university but got offer
Is it good for masters
Are you currently working as well?
I’m a SOAS LLB Law graduate! I’m now working in third party risk in an investment bank after working in the legal field for 12+ years. A few of my friends from SOAS also work in investment banking (risk and compliance). SOAS is brilliant for its diverse subjects and quality of teaching. New subscriber here…I found your videos as I was searching credit risk related information as I’m currently trying to make a move from third party risk to credit risk. Really informative videos btw so thank you!
Amazing, glad it helps and good luck on the move! soas grads are awesome, they’re always having a balanced view of world topics and this is a great skill to have in finance.
i’m going to study law at soas next year too! i’ve heard so many bad things about soas could you tell me about your experience?
@@LA-je7wv from what I gathered it was a really good university and ranked really well too but the current management is not the best ..
Royal Holloway is great for undergrad History as over half of all lectureres went to Oxbridge, it is the only university in the UK with a Holocaust Research Institute that lets you get hands on archive study (which is recognised internationally) and is one of only a handful of universities that teach Late Antiquity at undergraduate level. The only other that I know of is Oxford.
Hey man, I would really appreciate your opinion on applying to bayes business school considering I have good grades. Do you think it’s a good option for someone who wants to pursue the field of Finance and entrepreneurship in the future ?
Thanks
How does the university of London work? I have Birkbeck as one of my options but royal Holloway is what I want if I go into clearing. Both have “uni of London” in their name. Is it like Oxford having a load of smaller colleges?
That was the plan but in reality it’s nothing like oxford. Each uni is its own uni. You apply specifically to the uni and don’t have uni of London listed anywhere. The only shared feature I can think of is the senate house library which is accessible to all uni of London students.
hi, is llb law in city university good? and can you tell me more about it
I agree with you about Birkbeck’s social life. However, I don't agree with the ranking. Birkbeck is clearly ahead of the city and others in terms of global reputation and rankings. Birkbeck doesn't believe in biased domestic rankings. As you rightly mentioned Birkbeck has a different approach to its entry criteria. I have come across most of Birkbeck’s post-Grad coming from the top 5 UK universities to do their degrees. Also, Birkbeck teachers are active industry-leading research experts. A very high percentage of them have PhD degrees from Oxford, Cambridge, Harvard, Yale, Stanford UCL, LSE, and other top international universities. So, you can not compare Birkbeck with other traditional universities. Also, Birkbeck University London second oldest university in London. It has 5-7 Nobel laureates and one British Prime and many Internationally famous figures who studied and taught lessons here. Birkbeck has many joint courses with UCL- imperial & LSE which many people don't know. Therefore, I'm sorry to say that your ranking of Birkbeck is wrong. That's the very reason, Birkbeck doesn't believe in the UK rankings.
Thanks for such a well explained opinion on the uni! I agree with what you’ve said. I want more people to know about Birkbeck for sure but There are a few areas though which makes it difficult to place it higher. For example it doesnt offer undergrad and so for most viewers it wouldn’t be applicable for them. For the same reason I haven’t put London Business School in the rankings, it is a postgrad only uni but it’s the same as Harvard for what it offers if not better. But I really appreciate your comments!
@@ThatMuslimLife It offers undergrad courses no? Ive applied to a computing degree undergrad.
@afggg8194 you’re right it does, I think I meant it specialises in postgrad courses for professionals, by offering part time and evening options. I know because of the style of teaching it focuses on, it’s withdrawn from uk undergrad rankings .
@@ThatMuslimLife Yes it does offer undergrad lmao
Hello team TML,
I am an IT Management professional contemplating an MS from UK this September that can then be followed by a possibly relevant career.
I am focusing London since it is the tech hub of the UK. I have shortlisted the below four universities/courses with budget being the major consideration here. Can you please comment on these choices in terms of university repute in tech market?
1. MS Management of Business Information Technology (Greenwich University)
2. MS Digital Business (Westminster University)
3. MS International Business Management with Project Management (London Metropolitan University)
4. MS Business Project Management (London South Bank University)
Will highly appreciate a prompt response as I need to make a decision and apply asap considering Sep intake is fast closing out.
Cheers!
Thanks for the info. I would say Greenwich then London south bank. The difference of the other two isn't much so won't make a difference.
The degree of Greenwich also looks good tbh , better than others, so definitely Greenwich as top choice.
@@ThatMuslimLife thanks for the reply, this will surely help me narrow down on my choices.
How's the tech sector looking like in London? I have been told fintech is the area to target.
I would say Social life cant be a huge criteria, unless someone’s going for a Uni campus residential acco. for a long duration (say for a 3 year) course. So, employability and average salary of graduates has to be a higher criteria while ranking Universities on any scale or location(s). Any reason why LBS is missing from the list ? cause its just focussed on one stream ?
Thanks for your comments! There's a lot of reasons why people attend university and make their choices. Some want a good education but also want great sport facilities, and some do want a great social life within uni and the city.
LBS isn't on these rankings as it doesn't do undergrad degrees
Hi, would you recommend Msc International Business Management at Bayes Business School or Queen Mary?
Hi! Thank you so much for your video! Can you tell me a little bit more about the Journalism courses at the City, University of London? I ask in terms of teaching and job opportunities as well as exposure. I am hoping to apply. Please help me out :)
So journalism at City like I mentioned is amazing. One of the best places in the uk to offer it. For jobs, employers will know this and so will look favourably on getting your journalism degree from there
Hey man, I was thinking about studying finance eco and management at queen mary, what are your thoughts on that? I don't really know if it is worth it...
What kind of job roles are you hoping to do after graduation? I'll also be releasing a video on QM soon so do subscribe to know when it's posted :)
Hey, thanks for the great video. What do you think of the Msc in Environment, Politi
cs and Developemt Program at SOAS
And employability related to the course as well. TIA
What kind of industry do you plan to work in?
Policy space, INGOs or perhaps the UN
Yeh that'd be amazing for those industries. That's where SOAS is world renowned for! If the ranking was based just off one speciality then SOAS would rank a lot higher because of how good it is in that area. Good luck with your choices!
Thanks a lot for your reply! That's really nice of you :)
Im confused bw city and Soas for law apparently Soas is ranked 6th for law and city is below that but I like city’s campus and I dont like Soas’ but idk whether I should make my choice just depending on the campus. Can you help me out?
Am i missing something here but whats so good about the City campus compared to SOAS?
What do you think of SOAS when it comes to MSc Economic Policy or MSc International Business. I have also received an kffer from University of Manchester, a bit confused between both. What would be your suggestion?
what's your aim post graduation? Both are quite different courses as wel as unis
I got an offer for SOAS in Global Public Policy. I’m very excited but do you think employment opportunities after graduation in a place like UN is possible? Thanks for the video!
Congrats on the offer! Getting into the UN is difficult whatever the uni and jobs requirements and interviews are very tough to get though. But the degree and uni will help you a lot for sure, you might have to do other work experience first as well to stand out. Go check out the latest video where I explain soas a bit more!
@@ThatMuslimLife thanks for your reply! I will be sure to watch that soon. Appreciate your content.
Thanks 🙏
What do you think of BSc Computer Science at City? Is there any recommendations for international students who just average grades for Computer Science?
That'd be a good choice if you're saying you have average grades
Hey mate... Can you elaborate more on Brunel? Should i not opt it? I've got an admit for Motorsports MSC.
Mate that is one unique degree. How many other places are even offering it?
@@ThatMuslimLife not much just Oxford Brookes and Cranfiled. That's all for uk and only 2 more uni all across Europe.
Though its kind of a big deal as these courses have straight up ties with automotive giants.
I'd probably have to do a bit more research if I'm honest.
@@ThatMuslimLife I'd be waiting for it... Thanks mate..
Hi which university is the best for msc aeroespace engineering brunel university or imperial college london? And what is the main difference?
Thank you!
It's not even a question.... imperial. Imperial is one of the best science unis in the world.
@@ThatMuslimLifewhy would you even consider brunel 😅. that would have been my last choice had I somehow completely failed A levels years ago. I stayed at brunel for ncs and it the campus was so small and there's not much social life in Uxbridge sorry😅
Which University you prefer for Ms in data science?
Greenwich University or heriot-watt University
is HW campus London based/online or in Scotland?
Hello, should I choose Msc International Business at SOAS or Msc Management at Brunel?
I'd go with my soas but the teaching style and uni make up is very different so I'd look into that if you're comfortable with it. It's in a much better location as well for a student though likely more expensive
I've recently got an offer from QMUL and this seems a good option as I have limited options considering I'm applying for January intake. What are the job opportunities after doing msc management from QMUL and what salary can i expect after it?
same question and situation 😅
@@siddhantshitole9219 Are u joining for the January intake as well at Qmul?
Hi bro, did you join QMUL?
Is middlesex university good for undergraduate degree
Can i get into good companies after graduating?
Hey brother is there a way to know MIM specialising in which area is vest fit for you ?
Hi sorry I didn't understand the question. Can you type it again?
do you know if middlesex university is worth putting as an option?
What are your expected grades and do you need to stay in London?
Just got my offer letter for QMUL, waiting out for UCL but I'm already quite satisfied
Congrats on the offer, it's a great uni and I even made a separate video about just how good it is! Good luck with the ucl decision as well :)
ME TOOO! congrats!
Between LSE and Imperial, I will leave it like this. I am from the US. If you ask the median American somewhat college educated family what Imperial is, they will generally have next to no clue what it is. If you ask LSE, odds are is that they will certainly know. The only 3 schools that I have found to be generally known in the US are Oxford, Cambridge, and LSE.
Tbf that's a good point. Plenty of big economists from around the world come to LSE. The big scientists from around the world would go Oxbridge or mit and not many to imperial.
lse is much harder to get into imo. the acceptance rate is much lower than many oxbridge courses
I also think less people apply to Oxbridge than lse. A lot of people see Oxbridge as beyond them and don't end up applying, especially students from non private institutions.
hello sir i am planning post graduation master in mangement , so i am salected 3 universities 1 Royal holloway, 2, oxford brooks
then salected operation management / supply chain and marketing which one is nice and also get nice job please help me out sir,,,,
I am planning to study the two years Senior Status Law degree, which one should I choose: Queen Marry, or City, uin?
Queen Mary has a better law school reputation
@@ThatMuslimLifeis bayes business school worth it for bsc accounting and finance or just average
@annas9443 what kind of jobs are you looking for after graduation?
@@ThatMuslimLife i have following ucas Choices what should be the preference order for bsc accounting and finance bayes business school, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Cardiff
Hi! i am going to study in QMUL for masters in Finance and investments. Is it good? i am from another country and dont really know a reputation of QMUL for employers
Yes it’s good. I know people working at investment banks that graduated from QM.
@@ThatMuslimLife that’s nice, thank you for a quick response
No problem, I will be doing a video on QM soon. I released a yt short on the campus so make sure to check it out !
Bro, how is Birkbeck MSc Data Science? what are jobs prospect after completing the course? Do employer give preference to Birkbeck graduate?
Are you a proffesional already working a full time job?
@@ThatMuslimLife thanks for responding. Actually, I have had a gap since i graduated in 2018 due to some medical conditions and covid19 i couldn't have work experience but I continue learning python and mathematics to prepare for data science and did an internship. It would be great if you could guide me. Will birkbeck be a good choice in terms of academic and employment opportunities.
Is Royal College of physicians of UK . a part of Royal Holloway University?
No. Did you see it listed somewhere like that or you were just asking?
Recent LSE international student graduate here. Does me being an international student hold the same prestige as if i were to study locally at the UK. Would companies generally ask that?
Definitely same prestige. no separation seen from that perspective for companies. You all study the same course after all and have same lecturers.
I'm really confused between brunel and west London for undergraduate business management course and i still want to get one offer letter from birkbeck. Which one do you say is the best. Kindly help me out
West London uni has surprisingly moved up a lot in the rankings. But Brunel is better overall. Is this for a masters?
@@ThatMuslimLife no it's for undergraduate . So is brunel good for business management program than UWL?
Yes it's more established than uwl. Like I said in the video it's in the corner of greater London so quite far away from central for going out /socializing
Hi bro I apply for Brunel university as well as for Coventry university London also suggest me which one is best
following
brunel for sure
I'm shocked at the latest rankings though of where Brunel is. I'm going to have to make a video about this!
@@ThatMuslimLife defo
@@ThatMuslimLife QMUL ranked 53rd now do you think this is a mistake
Lancaster or Sheffield which is best for business management undergraduate. I got offer for both
don't think Sheffield is best for business, but lancaster is
hey. I've got an offer letter from Brunel University. Can someone plz tell me if the Uni is good for an MSc in international business with Placement?
The placement will be very important helping you get a good job
Hey guys, what is a better uni for law, SOAS or UOM? (
Bro how is middlesex university?
Is it good for bachelor in cybersecurity?
It's good but I would advise have a lot of projects outside of your course you've worked on. Not a lot of top companies visit Middlesex but in tech it's your ability more than uni reputation. If you can show you're capable by using your knowledge to solve problems that's great for CVs
What about st mary’s university and westminister?
Westminster is better than st Mary’s but I also know very little about st. Marys
Pls suggest QMUL or SOAS For Msc management
Hmmm I would pick QM. I don’t think here’s too much difference in uni teaching but from what I’ve seen in the job market there are more QM grads in top finance jobs {presuming that’s where you want to work}. Very different teaching focuses though with soas a more eastern based knowledge approach which you might want
Sir can you make a video of Open University in UK
Interesting idea! I'll have a think about it :)
Royal Holloway is alot better than city university
for real
SOAS or Edinbugh for MA literature as an Indian?
Very different places, do you want to be in London?
@@ThatMuslimLife I'm not sure 😕 I think I'd choose the university with better graduate prospects though. Academia or otherwise
@@ThatMuslimLifeyou from India🇮🇳 bhaijaan?
Is university of west london good for undergraduate courses?
What are your predicted grades and where do you want to work afterwards?
@@ThatMuslimLife well
I am planning of doing bsc hons cybersecurity degree from uwl n wanna work in big tech company
It'll be very tricky I'm not going to lie. The University doesn't have a lot of alumni working in big tech and in fact changed their name from Thames valley university because people had big things to say about TVU....but in the long run I think it is possible. You need good side projects you're working to show your skills and work in places where you can develop yourself more after uni before applying straight into big tech
@@ThatMuslimLife i also heard that uwl has a high employment rate .
Like the graduate from this uni gets jobs right after 2,3 months , is its truue ??
N can you list some advantages of studying bachelor in uwl for international students
St george?? Is it good?
It’s ok, it also offers medicine. But honestly, not many people have great things to say about it. Both in terms of its location and facilities. Are you thinking of going there?
location wise this was the most unsafe place I went for first year and it's quite bleak I nature with a really small library. wouldn't recommend it for social life and is very intense.
Univercity of Leeds?
this is a london uni list?
Not you forgetting RVC
Fair point and I agree with you it's great.... but it's too specialized to put it with lots of other unis. Same reason I left out London business school which is often ranked above Harvard as the best business school in the world but It's too specialized again.
No Loughborough University in top 10
These are only London unis. I’ve made a separate video talking about Loughborough if you want to know more about it.
Ohh that way, okay, but if you consider it’s london campus, then will it make it to your top 10
LSE teaching sucks. Did my masters there and undergrad at unieof York. York was far better
Were the lecturers preoccupied with their own research instead of helping students?
@@ThatMuslimLife Partly that and it seems like this was a transition job for them . Think about it, we were doing a Masters related to financial mathematics that the good students would go onto quant trading and similar jobs earning anywhere from 100k to 400k plus. The lectures were not making 6 figures and those that were not genuinely interested in academia were the ones that were trying to springboard from their lecture job to a real world high paying one.
Lol that's a good point! Must make them feel bad about their jobs hearing / Knowing the potential salaries of their students
@@ThatMuslimLife the LSE name did not add much value as already had a high 1st in mathematics and finance from York (still semi target university) with internships in investment banking and asset management. Already had some initial offers before the Masters but decided to take the Masters for knowledge and the challenge getting a higher degree. However, sure would have had same offers with companies if I stayed at York or went to Edinburgh (second choice for masters etc). Since the commodity trading firm already took 2 masters grads from Edinburgh. Some masters programmes at LSE seem to be more a business as a factory belt for paying students. 74% were international on my course
It depends on the degree and tuition fees. If you do not have a dream degree at LSE, KCL and UCL and enough money then you have no opportunity to go to top London universities.
very true! Sometimes we have to work with what we have.
I am trying to get in touch with you to book a session but the calendly link is not working. Please advise @thatmuslimlife
Apologies for that, I know the link has expired. Please contact me via LinkedIn, we can discuss your uni options (I won't charge due to it being my fault)
