If you're tired of London, you're tired of life.
ahaha it's certainly a place with lots going on!
Tbf, one thing london is lacking, is nature and leisure services
Thanks for this useful tips. I got an offer from City University London and was not sure how studying and living in London will be, this video just answered all my questions
Glad it was helpful! Best of luck!
that's cover everything I wanted to hear , thanks a lot
Happy to help!
Very true London's the most popular city for students!
This was very helpful
Thank you Sukanta!
Hi Imogen, thanks for a great video, one of the most comprehensive and well informed I've seen on the topic, really appreciate the cons in addition to the advantages. You mentioned something about sorting accommodation in July/August time compared to October/November time - how does that work? Where do you live between Sep-July if you haven't yet sorted your accomodation? Thank you!
Hi Hashim, thank you for your kind words. Most students go home for the summer so do not need accommodation in July/August in London. Many go travelling but some will stay in London to do internships. They either sub-let a room or stay with friends short term. International students tend to live in Halls with a 52 week contract rather than a 30 week contract which UK students might choose.
Thanks for this! I'm starting at UCL in September and I needed some of these pointers
Thanks Jonny. Good luck with your studies at UCL!!
Yoo, im starting in sep also what course u doin?
@@nour_feez2499 Economics, and you? :)
@@Jonny_spl im doing mechanical engineeringgg, u going accommodation?
same!
Hi Imogen! thanks for this video, I plan to study at king's, wish me luck... :)
Good luck!!
Hey Imogen. Thanks for your wonderful videos. I respect you so much and you have been so helpful as I am moving to London this fall too to study at LSE. I have a question about transport. How beneficial is the Student Oyster card? I heard that it gives discounts for certain kinds of travel plans, but does it provide a discount each time you use public transport? Like for each fare? Do you think it is worth it?
Oyster Cards cost £5 (refundable) and you can add your student rail card discount to it to get a third off travel. What this means is for a short journey in zones 1-2 the cost is:
Cash: £5.50 Contactless card:£3 or Oyster card with student discount: £2.00
A longer journey Heathrow Airport to central London (1hr):
Cash: £6 Contactless card:£4.80 or Oyster card with student discount: £3.20
Great videos keep going :)
Thank you so much!!
MARAVILHOSA!!!!!!!
Loved the video. One of the concerns i had was that since accomodation is so expensive people tend to move further from the centre which could lead to less social interaction since other people can be halfway across the city. Is this something to think about as I'm a very social person?
Thank you for sharing. Do you have any plans to review any other unis outside London? I hope you could review Reading, Warwick, or Bristol? Thank you! Cheers from Indonesia!
I would love to if I have time next year!
I know lotssssss of girls at UCL and i am living in central london.i love life here and I wouldn’t change it for anything
i would be so curious if you did a video on the LSE general course (study abroad) program!
Hi Iris, This is one I've been planning for a while I just need to find some willing general course students to help me out with it!
Jane Oh Jane
I was young and innocent
With euphoria at heart
I touched down at Heathrow
Only to be apart.
It was summer in London
Beautiful sunny day
Gentle breeze mingling with fragrance
Took my breath away.
I board on a bus
Full of fellow travellers
We were going to Victoria
The journey was tremendous.
At Victoria junction
I board down
Heading towards a B& B
I was new in the town.
There she was standing
Right in front of the motel
With blue eyes and blond hair
She was more than a fairy tale.
With a smile and a nod
She asked my name
My heart started pounding
Her beauty was to blame.
With lots of courage
And tremor in each vain
I introduced myself
Her name was Jane.
We went to London Bridge
And walked by the Thames
I bought her flower bouquet
And a purse made of gems.
Jane took me to Trafalgar Square
I fed the pigeons
We took some photographs
And giggling without reasons.
Right after the sunset
We hit the Leicester square
She was a prolific dancer
Set the stage on fire.
Then she took leave
With a promise to meet tomorrow
Alas she never came back
My heart was full of sorrow.
I roamed about the city
With a heart full of pain
Sat on the corner of Hide park
Waiting for Jane.
Jane never came back
Not even a word
I had to leave London
Like a wounded bird.
Twenty years passed by
I never flown to London again
If I ever go to that city
Should I find my lovely Jane.
Fantastic.
Many thanks!
This was a really helpful video, thanks so much! I have a lot of questions about shared accommodation though (like a whole videos worth of questions!!)
Do you find it difficult to relax/wind down after a long day in shared accommodation?
Is there another place where you can go if you just need some privacy?
How is sharing a bathroom with a lot of people, like can you take your time in there and is there a rush to get ready in the mornings?
It’s more of a general question but what’s the noise like in student accommodation, can you hear people in other rooms late at night, etc.
Are there rules or restrictions in terms of having friends visit in your accommodation since you’re sharing with another person
And I know it’s a more extreme scenario but what are your options if you don’t get along with the person you’re sharing accommodation with?
Thanks for the questions:
Do you find it difficult to relax/wind down after a long day in shared accommodation? Our schedules were quite different so often the other sharers were out when I returned home. However, it was always lovely if someone was in as we could catch up on each other's day.
Is there another place where you can go if you just need some privacy? There are lots of places around Halls if you need some space - computer room, laundry, garden, common rooms etc. Bathrooms are the only truly private places if you share.
How is sharing a bathroom with a lot of people, like can you take your time in there and is there a rush to get ready in the mornings?
Everyone is on different schedules, so I never had to wait or felt rushed in the bathrooms.
It’s more of a general question but what’s the noise like in student accommodation, can you hear people in other rooms late at night, etc? Noise varies. Halls are noisier during Freshers when everyone is new and excited to meet each other, then it settles down. You can hear people in corridors and other rooms if they are playing loud music or shouting. Halls tend to have quiet hours so noise settles down after 11pm.
Are there rules or restrictions in terms of having friends visit in your accommodation since you’re sharing with another person? Due to covid, no one who did not live in the hall was allowed to visit. In normal times, you and your room mates draw up an agreement about visitors, noise, etc at the start of term.
And I know it’s a more extreme scenario but what are your options if you don’t get along with the person you’re sharing accommodation with? People do swap rooms, move out etc. My friend had a double room, but her roommate left uni so she had the room to herself for the rest of the year.
@@ImogenWhite thanks so much for the detailed response, I’ve decided it’s probably best for me to live in shared accommodation! (I’m going to UCL so maybe I’ll see you around in london 😂)
Nice 👍🏻
Thanks Pattabhiram!
I picked Manchester as to me it's like a smaller London :)
Yesss!! Big city unis definitely have a different vibe to campus unis in smaller UK cities!
thanks! I'm starting at KCL this year and I am kinda freaking out hahah
You will have a great time. KCL is a fantastic uni and you will be studying in the best city in the world!!!
I'm going to KCL this year too!
@@muntahaazad9950 im going to KCL this year as well xx
Hiya lovely could you do a video on what the catering is like in LSE Halls as most of the halls I'd be able to afford are catered :)
That would make a great video... what I eat in a week in a university catered hall!!
Thank you.
You're welcome!
@@ImogenWhite Hello Imogen, I think you're getting weak. What is the secret to this?

This is so helpful because I want to apply for international foundation which is not possible this year so will you please tell me That I will apply next year
Can you suggest to me Social Media Digital Marketing Bachelor's degree in the UK which suits the best for international students?
Hello, how can I apply for MA in Journalism and Mass communication in the university as an international student?
Which university would you like to apply to?
Which do you think is better imogen? Imperial or lse, and should i choose kemp hall or urbanest wes?tminster
What course are you looking at?
Can you please tell me details about accommodation like this or yours so I can find.
I would be grateful , thank you ! 😊
Hi Farhan! I have a series of 3 videos on my channel all about different accommodation options in London so hopefully that helps you out 😀
Getting admission in LSE(London school of economics)is very difficult. You must have a good score in gmat and the principal of your school must write a recommendation letter so you can get admission. Since youre a british citizen so it is easy i think so for you to get a job. For international students i think so it is difficult to get jobs ?
You are correct. To get a job in the UK, you must have a 'right to work' check and the correct documentation. I am not sure if this is part of an international student visa.
@@ImogenWhite Well i think so not that difficult for you ? You after completing your under graduation will definately get a job. The plus point for you is that you're and under graduate from LSE which is no doubt top ranked university on qs ratings as well as employer rating. I wish that I could have got admission in LSE. You're a hard worker and you will definately be successful in achieving your goals.
Could you do some more on KCL please?
I’m planning a series where I look specifically at the different London unis so I’ll definitely make sure to do Kings!
Why didn’t you mention birkbeck uol among others?😒
Hello Imogen, would you say that if your parents cannot comfortably support you, is studying at lse is worth it?
There are lots of jobs in London, so it is possible to support yourself through uni. Also LSE offer shared rooms, so your hall fees can be as little as £120 a week for 30 weeks. I worked on the Reception in my hall of residence and earned £14 an hour. Other friends have worked in hospitality or tutored.
1000th view on your video!😂
Woohoo!
I´m lost. I´m brazilian and my dream is study abroad, but the big factor: I dont have money 😍 I want to go a country taht speak english, so in europe i think uk its the best oportunity, but its possible?

What you think about the Top up degree, Can I go into a Master Degree in LSE? or Kings??
Yes, certainly if you have the correct grades and motivation. Masters degrees are great for taking your studies to the next level and I would highly recommend London universities for them.
Do they offer medicine at lse, pls answer me. Thank you
I’m afraid they don’t - LSE specialises in social sciences!
🌟
would u tell me where is the safe place to stay IN LONDON ? is it safe place to stay IN LONDON ?
Obviously there's a degree of risk wherever you are in London just purely because of the size of the city. I've got friends living all over the place but I generally find the more central you are the safer it is, certainly in terms of amount of people out at night and the streetlighting!
@@ImogenWhite thanks to your useful reply. cherishing what u have and don't be sad about what u lack of , the world will be safer and peaceful around u in London. the more u have , the more u want, which is the big problem in London.
@@user-rn2os6io4t very very true I'm very lucky to live in London!
I am trying to come study cyber security for graduate 🎓 degree
That's so cool, best of luck with it all!
Can you suggest some unis to study law
Basically the cons are
-everything is expensive 😂😢
Yep!! You’ve hit the nail on the head there!
Love from pakistan 🇵🇰
Nice
Lmao what am I doing here I live in Florida with no plans of moving even 50 miles from where I live
Haha!! That is so funny. You can dream of London whilst I dream of Florida!!
How to get to heaven❤️:
We've all sinned and if God gave us justice we would end up in hell but we have a way to escape this punishment because of what Jesus did on the cross:
1- Believe that Jesus is God who died on the cross for our sins and rose again
2-Know that you are a sinner in need of a saviour and can't get to heaven by doing good or by any religious works
3- Turn from sin and obey God out of love for God and truly love everyone (reading the Bible will help a lot)
(Read the Bible verses too 💗)
1- John 1:1, John 1:14, 2 Cor 5:18, 2 Cor 5:21, Acts 3:15, John 3:18
2-Luke 23:39-43, Eph 2:8, Rom 3:23
3-Matthew 25:32-40, 1 John 3:18-23, Galatians 5:6, 1 corinth 6:9-10, Matthew 25:14-30
Thanks so much for reading, God bless ❤️
