I feel this should have been an documentary, not a reality show, that examines the phenomenon of a social media hub as opposed to watching a lame house full of boring people.
I mean I grew up in a 3rd world country and I could never dream of being famous or in tv series growing up mainly because most people in the Western World think that the country is only a desert, that we live in tents and ride camels around. But yeah omg poor Chase what a tragic life, not growing up in California and not having anybody to collab with on tiktok, therefore, having to actually try and be talented and interesting on his own...what a sad tragic life he must have had....
Dylan pretends like he's dumb but he's actually so smart. I think he could be an amazing director or someone's manager or entrepeneur like literally anything lol
The problem is that they collected already famous people together who had their own brands. They need up and comers who are willing to do the brand deals and Hype House instas or whatever. And have them SIGN CONTRACTS that if they don't post or whatever they have to pay a fine or leave the house. Honestly, Thomas, be a boss, not a friend.

it bothers me so much that netflix gives 'influencers' these dry reality shows yet cancel great series like ianowt, the society, julie and the phantons, anne with an e etc.
Agreed, however it’s all about money, if those shows have a bigger audience then the others get canceled, at the end it’s a business for them, and a lesson for the audience, if we want better content we have to support it as well.

In case anyone cares about this information: The two main people of the show ended up not participating after everything was already filmed, Sienna Mae and her then “boyfriend” Jack Wright were gonna be the big thing of the show but turned out she was abusing him and a video of her SA him while he was unconscious came out so they took them out of the show and just filled in with whatever they had of everyone else without the two of them.
They were in the show? They're literally not in any of the group scenes. If they cut out all that footage then...also how come they were supposed to be the main thing?

Actually they had the prom thing because Ms. Dragon 😭😭 wanted to go to prom after she was her true self (she went to her hs prom before being transition) so she kinda wanted to relive that moment in her new body and stuff. Also even though most of them are rich white kids…they’re still kids. Majority of them are 18-19 year olds. The show is bad don’t get me wrong but I ain’t see nothing wrong with the prom event, cringy yeah but it wasn’t that bad ♥️😭
They had prom bc Nikita never got to have prom as her true self and so never got to actually enjoy prom with ppl who care about her. There’s a lot of things to critique them about but having a prom for Nikita isn’t it. A lot of trans ppl would love to get a second prom.
But living in a house like this would actually be my worst nightmare. Speaking as a teen/young adult I really don't think I'd manage to survive without going crazy even if it's for business and clout mainly.

There's a reason why most bands aren't endlessly on tour and actually go home and play locally where they can live in their own houses. Hype house or what was the Paul brother house something 10? Team 10? Are like that situation tenfold with more self centered people. Sounds like a joy.

Let's be fair here for a second. It's obvious the persons this show is catered to it little kids to a max of 16 or 17 years. And they make a large demographic. During COVID, the children were all cooped up in their houses and this became their entertainment. Probably that's how the tiktokkers made more money- fame leading to brand deals and sponsorships.

It made me think of Starkid, the theater company that made A Very Potter Musical. They've been doing shows and content every year since AVPM was put on TH-cam in 2009, and are still gaining new fans today with the content they're putting out. Nick Lang is the writer/director/showrunner of the company (basically he's the Kevin Feige of Starkid), and does MASSIVE amounts of work to keep Starkid on an upward climb. They are still relevant, because they've evolved with the type of content their fans want, without sacrificing the quality of the writing and production (and building on the quality, actually). And now, because everyone in Starkid puts in the work and respects each other, it's something that none of them have ever regretted being a part of, and they want to continue being a part of it. They've grown this company from a few college graduates putting on a silly Harry Potter parody to a legitimate theater company that provides free, quality theatrical content on TH-cam, and selling out anything they do live. Darren Criss has won an emmy and is really famous from Glee, and to this day is still as active a participant in the company as he can manage. These friends successfully built a business together, and Nick Lang has done an incredible job keeping the whole thing focused and cohesive and entertaining, all without being in the spotlight himself. I think anyone trying to build a content house should do some research into Starkid, and follow their lead.

For sure a content house is realistically not the move unless everyone is friends naturally first. The hype house took creators and put them together and tried to make them friends. Content groups are much smarter. Look at the sidemen. They’ve been together for 7 years and they’ve gone through beef but at the end of the day they are all friends and still put out amazing content. The biggest dif is def that they have actual personalities and aren’t just “attractive” faces
honestly it's a struggle even if they are friends. living with friends always sounds more fun than it is and often leads to them getting on each others' nerves.

It was completely healthy the way they moved out though due to different stages of life and serious relationships. I think that's what makes it work though, they're all mature and can separate the business from friendship

I think it's mostly sad/depressed people that gravitate to that sort of work, looking for more and more validation. There's something inside them that needs to be addressed but they don't know how or don't have the skills to so they seek outside sources for happiness and purpose. The problem is that void is still there and nothing external can ever really fill it totally so they need more and more, but it's never enough. It's honestly tragic and I wish there was more focus in the world on healthy coping skills and self-confidence, self acceptance, and less focus on external factors giving some sort of "fulfillment". But then companies couldn't brainwash us into thinking that new great makeup/skin care/clothes/shoes/ energy drink/car/ whatever will fix all our problems.
I watched the entire show and was so confused with Vinnie. He was like randomly pissed over what seemed to be nothing. Then Thomas was just victimising himself the whole time and acting like he’s never done anything wrong.

If you’re over the sponsorships and everyone dislikes it, work to find what they’re more passionate in. These are entitled rich kids your goal is to keep them happy and active only, don’t bicker with them like a parent. He needs to adapt more rather than keeping the same mindset

15:08 It was interesting hearing you make the point of how it's Thomas' job to make the Hype House a brand that continues to grow and be exciting enough that the people involved want to stay involved, no matter how big they get. It made me think of Starkid, the theater company that made A Very Potter Musical. They've been doing shows and content every year since AVPM was put on TH-cam in 2009, and are still gaining new fans today with the content they're putting out. Nick Lang is the writer/director/showrunner of the company (basically he's the Kevin Feige of Starkid), and does MASSIVE amounts of work to keep Starkid on an upward climb. They are still relevant, because they've evolved with the type of content their fans want, without sacrificing the quality of the writing and production (and building on the quality, actually). And now, because everyone in Starkid puts in the work and respects each other, it's something that none of them have ever regretted being a part of, and they want to continue being a part of it. They've grown this company from a few college graduates putting on a silly Harry Potter parody to a legitimate theater company that provides free, quality theatrical content on TH-cam, and selling out anything they do live. Darren Criss has won an emmy and is really famous from Glee, and to this day is still as active a participant in the company as he can manage. These friends successfully built a business together, and Nick Lang has done an incredible job keeping the whole thing focused and cohesive and entertaining, all without being in the spotlight himself. I think anyone trying to build a content house should do some research into Starkid, and follow their lead.
Being a person who actually wached the show twice in 3 days, I can't agree more with Dylan. Like, Chase has got to know how cringe he is, and if he doesn't then I'll be the one to break it to him.

I feel like "Not Another Teen Movie" with Chris Evans is right up Dylans alley. It does refer to a lot of older movies like 16 candles and the breakfast club (hence Molly Ringwald in the end) so it'd great to understand those references but even if you don't its still so funny. They're basically just shitting on teen/young adult films

you were the first youtuber i watched, recently, who actually made me laugh (i only laugh when people don’t mean to be funny, has to be done right) so most of the time i don’t laugh, but certain moments of your videos made me laugh.. then you got annoying speeding up the movies/shows… then i watched billy binges.. and now i appreciate you so much more

For sure a content house is realistically not the move unless everyone is friends naturally first. The hype house took creators and put them together and tried to make them friends. Content groups are much smarter. Look at the sidemen. They’ve been together for 7 years and they’ve gone through beef but at the end of the day they are all friends and still put out amazing content. The biggest dif is def that they have actual personalities and aren’t just “attractive” faces

honestly it's a struggle even if they are friends. living with friends always sounds more fun than it is and often leads to them getting on each others' nerves.

It was completely healthy the way they moved out though due to different stages of life and serious relationships. I think that's what makes it work though, they're all mature and can separate the business from friendship
@@brooke7876 only 4 of them lived in the sidemen house, jj and simon had been living together for 7 years but they recently moved out, 3 of them are in committed relationships and one of them is even engaged so it's natural for them to step out. they're lovely.

A content house of reactor youtubers would be extremely chaotic and I kind of want to see it
You'd expect a reality TV show about influencers to show how wacky and insane their lives get, but most of them just seem sad or stressed.
I think it's mostly sad/depressed people that gravitate to that sort of work, looking for more and more validation. There's something inside them that needs to be addressed but they don't know how or don't have the skills to so they seek outside sources for happiness and purpose. The problem is that void is still there and nothing external can ever really fill it totally so they need more and more, but it's never enough.
It's honestly tragic and I wish there was more focus in the world on healthy coping skills and self-confidence, self acceptance, and less focus on external factors giving some sort of "fulfillment". But then companies couldn't brainwash us into thinking that new great makeup/skin care/clothes/shoes/ energy drink/car/ whatever will fix all our problems.
I watched the entire show and was so confused with Vinnie. He was like randomly pissed over what seemed to be nothing. Then Thomas was just victimising himself the whole time and acting like he’s never done anything wrong.
at first i was confused as well but ig that that amount of pressure from the public can be overwhelming especially since he seems quite young

I don't know any of these people, but I honestly feel bad for Thomas. He wanted to build up this big, cool business and brand, and everyone just left cause he didn't know how to manage it. Maybe if he learns to manage a big business like that, and incorporates other professionals, he can kick something off the ground. I'm kinda rooting for this growth from him, even though I don't know him lmao. I guess we'll see what happens.
Idk but the vibe I got from him was hungry for fame since his first house Team 10 didn’t work out. He saw tiktok clout and took advantage, I do sympathize, however it is pretty clear what his intentions are.
There was a lot of drama surrounding him and some of the tik tokkers that were originally in it and how he would keep brand emails from them bc the money was going solely to the tik tokker and stuff

The way he described the hustle as “doing anything for a quick buck” tells me he doesn’t approach business in a futuristic way, just a current one. Like sure the other houses worked as a business but it gave them continuous income rather than a ton of money off of a bang ad. If you’re over the sponsorships and everyone dislikes it, work to find what they’re more passionate in. These are entitled rich kids your goal is to keep them happy and active only, don’t bicker with them like a parent. He needs to adapt more rather than keeping the same mindset
