- YGL2 Demo by Traynor Product Specialist Steve Das
Traynor recreates the classic cathode bias amp tone in the 30-watt YGL2 all-tube two-channel combo.
CLASSIC TONE
Traynor YGL2 uses 1 12-inch Celestion Vintage 30 speaker and hand-selected EL84 tubes configured in a proven Class-A amplifier design to deliver a truly classic amp tone. Ideal for stage or studio, the YGL2 is built to meet the need of the discerning guitarist in search of a classic, yet versatile guitar amp.
MAXIMUM VERSATILITY
The Traynor YGL2 offers clean and overdrive channels with separate level controls, master volume and a simple bass / mid / treble tone stack.
A Mode switch relocates the tone stack relative to the gain stage, giving the YGL2 either a crisp 'American' style tube amp tone for clarity and definition (USA mode) or a grittier, more 'spongy' 'British' flavor associated with the great UK amps of the 60s and 70s ( Brit mode).
ADDITIONAL TONE SHAPING
The Vintage / Modern switch on the Traynor YGL2 offers additional tone shaping that offers the player a choice between a truly classic 'vintage' tube drive or a more aggressive scooped guitar tone for the guitarist seeking a more modern guitar sound.
UNMATCHED RELIABILITY
The Traynor YGL2 combo is made in Canada using solid plywood cabinet construction, heavy gauge steel chassis, high quality pots and jacks.

I just bought one. It's killer! Sounds absolutely amazing.
That sounds incredible. Made in Canada, affordable, does clean to metal. Perfect
I picked one up after messing around with one at my local L&M for a few hours. Fantastic amp. I get compliments on my tone all the time. Thank you Traynor!
So good to see these awesome amps are still made here in Canada and it's one of the reasons I'll be buying one. :)
This amp sounds amazing when you over-drive the clean channel too. That way you can control the breakup with your guitar's volume control. Traynor Amps are built to last too.
I’ve had one of these for two years and I completely agree. I crank my clean channel and drive it with a ds1 set up as mild boost and gets me into tweed twin territory.
Unquestionably one of the best and most versatile amps out there for the money. For the money it's tough to beat. Very loud when you need it but sounds great at bedroom volumes. It's a keeper.
Sounds great- could be my next amp!
That's the amp I'm after !! Please make one with a good 230V transformer and ship it to New Zealand :-)
It would be nice to have and LED or button diagram to clearly indicate which mode you are in with the US/BRIT and VINT/MOD switch
You need to widen your dealer distribution network. There are no local dealers near me (Portland, Oregon - the ones listed on your web site no longer carry your stuff) and the eCommerce sites - AMS, zzSouncd, GuitarCenter, etc. don't carry your gear.
Or, you could sell directly to the public. It seems to work for Carvin...
The mic is clipping from the outset. What was this filmed with? An iPhone???
Why does the reverb on my ygl2 seem very very low even at full volume ? Am I doing somethin wrong or is this the way it is in this amp ? Thx
I have a YGL1 with electronic reverb and I have rented the YGL2 to check it out. I found the spring reverb on the YGL2 to be much lower, or more subtle, than the YGL1. I have to turn it up much higher, but it does sound good. Overall I am very impressed with the amp and will likely upgrade to a new YGL2.
Ya I actually got a new spring tank put in because the original one wasent working properly, now it sounds amazing.
The amp needs a switch for the dirt channel to boost like the fender Hot rod deluxe.
Don't know if the Traynor folks actually read these comments (or care), but I gave up. There isn't a Traynor dealer within 500(?) miles of Portland, Oregon and only a single dealer that sells these amps on either eBay or Reverb. The price on eBay/Reverb is $850. So, I bought a Blackstar HT--40 for $600 and spent the $250 I had left over on a couple of pedals.
Traynor's web site says there are 2 dealers of their products in my area but in truth neither of them has sold Traynor products in years.
I also contacted Traynor multiple times about becoming a dealer, but they couldn't be bothered to respond. Not even to a phone call.
Mike Austin your best bet is grabbing one while on Vacation in Vancouver.
Jason Maxwell Thanks, but that ship has sailed. I bought a Laney VC30. If Traynor doesn't want my business and won't even respond to my emails, they can sod off.
Mike Austin that's a real shame. you would think traynor would want to expand and sell more amps. they make great amps and the workmanship and materials are top notch . they really can't be beat in their price range . the ygl2 ycv 50 and ycs 50 are some of the best combo amps out there and are priced fantastic and are north American made they have so much going for them you would think they would want those facts to be known to more people outside of Canada. they make far better combo amps in the under 1000 dollars price range then anything fender or marshall are putting out at that price point. I have a ycv 50 and hope to own a ygl 30 and ycs 50 at some point you can get great deals on them used too. ycv 50 i have smoked a dsl 40 in a side by side comparison.
@@adamwatson6916 I just became a Dealer for Traynor based out of Houston, TX... If yall need anything from now on feel free to reach out to me and I will get you taken care of.
First Act Music Entertainment sir make some demos! People won’t buy something they don’t know! A well done demo can also give the store more notoriety
tune yer guitar!
30W amp with a celestion vintage 30 is not really a studio amp,, that speaker with its 60W rating and large 50 ounce magnet just sounds best when it is played live at high volumes..
Actually all after 72 suck
