I have to replace mine coming soon, what i think will help to take that possible hard ordeal getting those bolts off will be to heat them up to unseize them
Let me help refine dudes game. You shouldn't ever have to grab your 3/8 rachet on this one. The caliper....the bearing bolts. ALL with a half inch breaker bar and a hammer. There isnt much that will stand up to an an 18 inch breaker bar and a ten pound sledge . Get the whole front end up... Thay way you can turn the knuckle to help with the side bolts. Pull the axle off the diff and push it back to help get your deepwell and gun on them. A cold forged masonry block chisel is my savior for breaking the bearing loose. I AM in Michigan so dont even start. Get it in behind the wheel sensor port and start working the flanges.... Hammer a sliver ....squirt... Get a slighlty larger opening. Squirt. All with a 10 pound sledge.
I'm wondering if removing the knuckle would be the way to go. I replaced the lower ball joint on one side but don't remember exactly when I had the knuckle off if I had direct easy access but it seems once the axle is pulled completely out and the knuckle is swung around it would be easy to get on the hub bolts.I do remember getting the knuckle back on was a real bear because I left the tie rod attached.
Appreciate how in depth you went on this tutorial. Have to change these on my 04 this month and this video will be my go to
