This was great, love the deeper look at the characters along with the clear visuals of the components. Would love to see more

Really great video! I like how you tie in the tiny pieces of lore given for each character to their cards, and use that to discuss their personalities as well as the actual mechanics behind each hero. I never noticed how much Min's personality came out in his card art and I have played the game a ridiculous amount! I really enjoy seeing people's takes on each character as it almost always reveals something to me that I hadn't see before. Hope to see more of these in the future! Also, you have excellent taste covering Bain as the first hero. Easily one of my favorite heroes!

Truly enjoyed reading your comment, thank you very much! I am glad that the content reaches the ones who enjoy this angle of looking at games. About Bain: His silver is very cool. Some days ago I played as Min and my teammate as Bain and after the match we thought how cool it would have been if Bain pulled somebody right into a mine - but we came to the conclusion that his silver doesn't allow targeting through a token, is that correct?
Also: to hear from somebody like you who has played the game a lot that it is still very fun to play just goes to show again how great of a design it really is.

@@RingOfCards Yeah, you played it correctly with the Bain + Min interaction. Silver as is needs a straight line with no obstacles (tokens, units, and terrain) between him and his targets. I don't have the cards in front of me so you may need to double check, but I do believe Bain can pull someone over a mine if he first uses his alt green to allow him to ignore token/obstacle restrictions though.

Very interesting deep dive into a few of the hero mechanistics. I am backing this on Gamefound at the moment and thinking of picking up a hero pack or two. Which ones would you recommend?

In general I will recommend the Devoted and Defiant Packs - Still it depends on your preferences: If you like working your way up to more complex characters then the Renowned and the new Arcane pack seem to be a great fit. You can also look at some of the artwork and it will give you a feel for what the character is about. If you have certain playstyles that you enjoy you can let me know and I will recommend you some characters based on that.
I am personally very much looking forward to the new Wayward pack (this and Arcane are the ones that have not been available before), mostly because it includes Mortimer (artwork on the Gamefound page) and I am very curious about how he is going to play.

Thank you. Good point about the artwork. Min does look very interesting. The card play and combos looks really fun. It reminds me a bit of Spirit Island where the powers are also very thematic.👍

@@adamd4838 Min's Expansion pack is an interesting pick. maybe add the Devoted pack to have access to some 2star Champions. The complexity difference between 1star and 3star heroes can be very big.

@@RingOfCards Arty (the designer) is definitely going to highlight the new characters at some point during the campaign. However, just as a teaser: if you like playing Min, I have a feeling Mortimer will be one of your favorite characters from the new expansions. He also makes use of tokens for a lot of his gameplay, and has a red attack similar to Min's alt Red. However, where Min relies on his high ini to initiate attacks and out speed his opponents, Morty is much more about zoning/threatening a big chunk of the lane at a lower ini. As a high level descriptor, I would say he feels like a hybrid of Wuk and Min to play. During our playtests, he has quickly risen to be one of my two favorites of the new batch, with Widget and Pyro being the other.

@@KrakrChikn I am sure Arty is very busy at the moment but I wish the next update would have happened already. The campaign seemed to have a great "momentum" right from the start and regular updates (even with just a little information about the new characters) would help with keeping it that way and keeping people engaged. I am very happy to hear that about Mortimer. I guess Pyro is a companion for Widget? - like a pet-dragon? So digitally it is already possible to try out all the new champions?
