Great review Sir. I recently received my new Ace Pro and look forward to putting it to work. I also have the Insta360 X3 and am very pleased with its performance. I still have a GoPro Hero 4, but don’t use it and to be honest, I never liked it.
Great review! I'll be honest, with the exception of the low light test, I probably wouldn't notice most of the differences mentioned for either camera. I appreciate the time and effort that you and other content creators make to get the best footage down to the smallest detail. Godspeed
Another good review. I went with the GoPro 12 for the Bluetooth without the media device. Once I get the Sena Impulse helmet, I should be able to connect directly to the camera. No wires is my goal. I hope it will work. Thanks for the review.
That low light wins the day... but I don't do a lot requiring low light performance, and as you mentioned I am deep in the GoPro eco-system. Excellent, well thought out and presented review and comparison! This is going to be very helpful to anyone looking for a moto-vlogging solution.
Wow, I'm not an action camera user or Moto vlogger but I found this review excellent. I've been interested in the Insta360 Ace Pro since it launched. This video helped me decide if I wanted to make that first step into an action camera.
Outstanding review Chris. I haven't entered this space yet but have certainly thought about it. Something I've wondered is maybe moving forward with the Ace Pro and using it to also take still photos. Not sure if that would be an easy thing or not. I'm thinking about an upcoming large motorcycle trip later this summer. So, my wife/co-rider would potentially take photos from the pillion which if the camera was mounted isn't possible. The other option I've thought about is just upgrading her iPhone to the latest (15) with big memory and let her have at it from the co-riders position! So much to consider. I sincerely appreciate your review though, you cover so many things that a new person would never think of which is extremely helpful. Thank you.
Excellent review! We have a GoPro 9 which works great for us. I do like the better low light video on the Insta360 but we rarely record at night. I felt like the audio was slightly better with the GoPro, but they were very close. We did get a chip on our GoPro lens, assuming from a rock or something similar, so it was nice to have the ability to replace it. We also have the media mod, which we now use something different to capture our dual audio, but I would connect the media mod (while still attached to GoPro) directly to the pc and transfer files. No need to remove the micro SD card. Will definitely look at the 360 when time comes for a new camera.
This was a super solid review. Thank you for the full disclosure. One thing that you missed that I was interested in was the Bluetooth audio feature on both cameras. As a motovlogger is the quality there if you connect an Ace Pro to your sena, or your GoPro 12 to your Sena? I'm interested in the sound quality. It would be nice to have a motovlogging setup without having to wire up a secondary microphone.
I was not able to get the Sena to connect directly to the GoPro. But it did work withe the Sena Meshport Red. Quality was decent. I have a video in this.
I've been considering getting an action camera for a while now. Not for motovlogging, but just personal videos to share. I've seen some good reviews of the Insta360 Ace Pro (yours included), and I'm considering taking the plunge. I was wondering what the mounting device is that you show at about 12:40 in the video. I see that it says Insta360 on it, but i guess im missing it on their site. Thanks for the help, and a big thank you for this very informative video!
That is the Insta360 Invisible Selfie Stick, which is extendable, but on the photo, it is on the lowest setting. Check out this video for more details: th-cam.com/video/l_IrYSxm_fQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=LAunSCf_vtOQ_V-5
That depends on how you plan to use the camera. For many user, it is not worth the extra money. For me, the Pause/Record is worth it alone as is the flip-up screen.
It’s strange for me to see a person my age paying attention to “tricks” that may only be of interest to young bloggers. Insta360 ace pro is highly overrated. This is not an action camera, but a vlogging camera, which still needs to be activated in the application in order to use it. Even with the Leica, the Insta doesn't outperform the GP12 in normal lighting.
Very interesting comparison / results... thank you! The Insta360 Ace Pro would be my camera of choice.

Nice review. Thanks for the video. I’m still rocking GoPro 10’s 😂
Off topic??? Can I use the FALCAM F22 Quick Release Kit for Insta360 that I use with my Insta 360 X3?
My question for you would be do you think that all these benefits are worth 200+usd you need to spend on the AcePro compared to the gopro?

Gopro 12 isnt ment to be judged without the max lens 2.0, as without it its just a money grabber gopro 11 update
Ace pro sound is better
Looks like you're in Plano
