    15:30 see the difference in the shape of the crystal between this smoky piece and the last 'favourite point' piece? The tiny crystal point has an 'elongated c-axis', which tends to happen when the quartz has grown on a surface other than quartz. Quartz that grows on quartz grows like the smoky, or the druzy on that nice mammilary specimen. Quartz that grows on carbonates like limestone tends to 'nucleate on it's side', hence the elongated prism.
    I find putting things you want to look green on paper (or some other white background) gives the best representation of the colour. I'm not sure if that's prase tho, it's very translucent! There could be some presence of a metal like nickel, chromium, vanadium, or even copper that could be tinting it green. I definitely believe you that it *is* green though, and that's special no matter why!

    • @Rookie_Rockounding
      @Rookie_Rockounding  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Dude thirst yes! Okay so to shorten the video I didn’t show the backside of that Crystal cluster but it was growing on what must have been some sort of mineral shelf inside a thunderegg. It was white and super thin. That’s really interesting that you picked that up bro!
      Nice tip with the green dude, I’m totally not super sure if it’s prase but from what I’d read green chalcedony is prase but that’s probably a dumbed down version. Either way I’m with y’a man, it’s a pretty stone. How would we be able to tell if it’s prase or not?

    Thank you as always my friend for the excellent post! Much appreciated~👍 What an excellent day out hunting beautiful earth goodness. A super mish mash mix of wonderfulness. The piece at 10:53 has some really beautiful color mixes IMO. The best part of my Friday so far has been this video~ Ima sucker for thundereggs cause opening em is like a Christmas present each time, never know if you're getting. Quartz, Thundereggs....just a great day of fossicking my friend.🥇🧐 Personally, I'm more searching for beauty than size but in some places, there is just so much choice that it's kind of important/necessary to be selective for your purpose...what am I going to do with it?🤷‍♂️ If I can't see it in my head, then I usually leave it behind~ Thanks again brother, wishing you and yours all the best from across the ocean!

    If their broken where you are looking and still angular not rounded the only option for me would be upstream.
    I thought there was quite a bit of common opal that wasn't mentioned.
    I keep telling you there are some very tasty minerals in your area, keep looking for green and blue and i'm sure there is gold in those creeks, it may only be a little, but the UK has only small deposits of gold so the clever ones put sheep fleece in the waterway and washed them out every so often if they found any.
    JAGATE, microcrystaline, cryptocrystaline, it's all quartz by a different name.
    Think of bread and cake, both made with flour as the main ingredient but change one or two extra ingredients and you either have a sandwhich or a sponge cake, substitute sugar for milkshake powder and you have a different colour sponge, just one simplified way of explaining, the difference is JAGATE took longer than a sponge cake before it was cooked.

    Jesse....wow"...don't underestimate what you walk over"....I'm sitting here in tears on my lunchbreak watching your video and thanking you for sharing your beautiful finds. I'm thankful to you and other rockhounders for making an incredibly difficult and trying year halfway bearable and not so lonely. I feel like I've walked over hell, but not sure what lesson I'm supposd to be learning from it. I'm just questioning if I have it in me to keep going. Been dealing with a terrible job and it's hollowed out my heart, which is something I used to love about myself. I dug up a huge thunderegg at one of my favorite spots a couple weeks ago. It was about the size of a basketball and had a star in the center that was the same pale green color as the piece you found early in the video. I'd happily give away rocks that have given me such joy to someone else so they could enjoy them. Heck, you could cut apart all of my still whole thundereggs and be blown away by their beauty. Thank you for being a friend when I had few.

    It's nice to have friends to let you go hunting on their property and to have mates to go with you. I go for broken thunder eggs all the time. The little bits I tumble and give to parents that have kids. You never know where that will lead in their little lives and the parents become heroes for giving it to them. A couple of the parents even gave me tips on where to rockhound and said they might try it themselves. You did find a honey hole. Great job! Keep being happy, safe and stay healthy 😷⚒

    • @Rookie_Rockounding
      @Rookie_Rockounding  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Tracey, I haven’t done that before but that’s only because of preference. But I’ve seen a number of pieces done that way and it definitely works. If need be you could also use mineral oil on them. It’s not as glossy but it makes them look wet almost. But I suggest, give it a go and see how it looks either way 😁👍

    11:50 I'm equally interested in that mineral cluster the agate is on. Spray suggests like a sagenite mineral? I'm not sure if you get zeolite in rhyolite seam agate.... Neat piece tho!

    • @Rookie_Rockounding
      @Rookie_Rockounding  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ohhhh! I see it! At like exactly 11:57 near my thumb. So that’s Rhyolite but I see that a bit in these pieces almost like it’s a thunderegg that didn’t quite do it’s cracking thing creating a void but I don’t know. Defs Rhyolite but of the mineral content in it i really can’t say. 🧐

    Jesus Christ is the son of God who died and rose three days later and loves all of you. He died for everyone and wants you with Him, to know Him and live for His glory. Come be saved eternally and spend time with Him to know Him. Be saved, free, forgiven, healed, delivered, baptized, whole and let Him show you how He is everything you need.
    🕊️💕Live righteous and Holy because He said to and paid for our way to live like Him. Ask anything in His name and the Father will do it amen hallelujah praise God thank you Jesus . 🙏
    I lift up everyone's prayers, wants and needs to You Jesus, please pour out blessings. May Your favor, grace and mercy be upon the world. In Jesus name come help us all. You know our needs and everything else about each of us. In Jesus name amen thank you Jesus praise God 🙏
    Jesus, Help people to be rooted and grounded in Your love and to obey Your truth. That they are living in the truth being taught by You. That they know Your voice and word. Knowing truth from errors, discernment. 💕
    We are ambassadors of Christ. We represent God, when we are seen Jesus should be seen, His ways not ours. We should be living for and showing God, living for His glory. We are to be an example of Jesus for the world to see Him and want to know Him and know Him more. 🙏 🔥
    2 Chronicles 7:14 says, if My people humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways I will hear them from heaven and heal their land. 🙏 💖
    People need to turn from their wicked ways, Jesus paid for it. That's God stating it in that verse and there are more verses. People need to repent, to be cleansed by His blood and live Holy because He's Holy and righteous because He's righteous. Our God said to stop sinning in many many scriptures and He paid for everyone to be cleansed of sin (Isaiah 53), and to live how He said. He dwells in the Holy temple (your body) and said not to defile the temple. He said to defile the temple is death. He's always serious about everything He said to do. He's just as serious about what He said not to do. We live in obedience to His law, every word if it! He dwells within us all to be with and lead us in His ways. 💕🙏
    Deuteronomy 28 there are blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience. The whole chapter, and verse 46 is one example of generational curses. These go into the following generations, the 3 and 4th. Our children pay the price for our sin. Stop sinning you are sending consequences to yourself and to your loved ones, children. By God's law you are. If you don't believe me ask Him, in Jesus name may you see and know the truth in it's fullness. Love your neighbor as you love yourself.
    He's worthy of everything He said and paid for, so I implore you to do as God said. Jesus said If you love me you will obey my commands. Love Him with all your heart, mind, soul and strength.
    Praise God hallelujah Jesus.
    In Jesus powerful name. 🙏🔥🕊️ 💖
