Thanks for watching! I hope you had as much fun watching as I had cutting!
Perfect cut on the last one trusted your gut and it came out looking like something natural in nature like a mushroom..
How much for the last one
16:47 it looks like a teddy bear head to me. I want it lol. Love your content. Have a great day.
6:32 could it possibly be some flint..?? Not that I know how to identify flint..😂
I really appreciate your tips and cutting these for us to learn!! To think all of those were so uncertain a lot of them were gorgeous!!!
I’m holding my breath watching him cute rocks without cutting his finger off
🙌
It's a diamond blade. They don't have typical blade teeth. They actually grind through rock. I just watched a video where the guy had his finger on the blade whist cutting through a rock! I was amazed!!! It didn't cut him. Maybe he was an.....👽
If you touch the blade, you just get a graze. It hurts, and sometimes could bleed, but nothing like a saw for wood which would cut your fingers off no argument
I'm really happy I read these answers to your comment after only watching a minute of the video. I can now watch in peace lol
@@kpizzlemynizzle922thanks for clarifying! My 9 year old was watching with me, & he was like "Woah! He's gonna cut off his finger!" I simply told him he knew what he was doing & would be ok. He'll be happy knowing it's harder to cut your finger off with this kind of blade, though!
Geology nerd here. That was super fun! I don't see throwaways or duds. What I see are rocks that can be brought to local schools, girl/boy scout troops, and even children's hospitals for children to select for themselves to enjoy, and to learn more about minerals. Little me would have lost her head if presented with many of those cut stones. They were all beautiful in their own way - and certainly of great interest to children, who don't have the same expectations of mineral specimens that we typically develop over the years.
I'd have to agree! There were a few that I thought were pretty that he didn't seem all too impressed about
@@radioactivebirbchild5232 Me too!
that is a great idea. we have many and also have a pile of ...ah..OK we don't plan to keep but don't think arent really worth selling.
Agree. Don't think it's fair to call them "ugly" or say "they have nothing going on."
Absolutely! My sister and I found a rock growing up, which I now know is just a quartz nodule, but we loved that rock, and to us, it was a dinosaur egg. We'd add it into our pretend play as a dinosaur egg we discovered as cavewomen or geologists, and I still keep it for that exact reason. The sentimental value of what it was to us kids.
That last one is spectacular! Even with the duds, there is something special about being the first in millions of years to glimpse inside of a rock
It’s gorgeous! It looks like a mushroom!
Looks like a T-bone.
I'm wondering what rock's composition is?
It truly is very beautiful and interesting..!! ❤
(sorry typo)
.. What's this rock's composition? Thx..
Anyone else worried he’s going to cut off his fingers?
I'm a rockhound and lapidary artist. Those continuous rim diamond blades won't cut you. I have bumped my fingers into them when working on my trim saw lots of times. Of course if you were to hold your finger against it you could cut yourself, but you would have to deliberately hold your finger on the blade for a few seconds. Those blades don't 'cut' in the traditional way that you think like saws designed for something like wood. These saws basically grind a slot right through the rock.
No. He knows what he is doing. The cutting blade is not sharp, it's more like a grinder.
@@tothesummit5864 I should have read your reply before pasting. Spot on.
This is definitely a metaphor for people, and for those who have amazingly beautiful interiors, despite plain exteriors. 🙂❤️
People come in many variations, all to be loved, and all unique.
Love the comments.
I think a wall or floor constructed of these open stones would be incredibly beautiful!😳
yes imagine it covered by a hardy mirror finish clear resin. beautiful.
I’m not sure I’d ever leave the room!
They're ALL beautiful! Even the quartz! The itty bitty purple is a jaw dropper!💟
Where do I find some of these rocks.??
@@crystalnimmo7682 Along the south shore of Lake Superior, check after storms if you know what you’re looking for. Keep in mind what stone types you’re looking for, and ignore the rest.
If you want more specific information, look up the Agate Shop in Grand Marais Michigan, and check what hours they are open before you try to visit. About a week before you plan to go, tried calling them during hours they are supposed to be open and see what they think about their plans for the time you would be closer. Sometimes they go out of town for special events, so always call ahead and don’t assume they will be there.
But, Sometimes they will open up for out of town and out of state people, if they are able to and you’re in the area visiting. Last, I highly recommend buying the little book they wrote. It’s available at the shop, and add the VW bus next door if the shop is an open, and if that VW coffee bus is still there! Hrs got damaged in some water and the pages are all stuck together and half ripped, so I’m sorry I can’t give you any information out of it. But I think you’ll be able to find them on the Internet. Happy hunting!
That last one looked almost like a mushroom cap😂
It really did! 🍄
Pensé lo mismo, ó una campana❤
I thought I’m looking the Virgin Mary from behind 😍
5:13 it looks like a cameleon😂
Eyeball
That last one is gorgeous, but my favorite is the tiny one with the purple center, its movement was so unique. Thank you for an enjoyable video.
I could watch this all day
☺️
Absolutely the best accidental click which led to my favorite video ever!!!
You rock!
When I watch you lay the quartz aside it makes me smile. There are a lot of us out here who love the quartz and get excited to see it, along with the color and patterning that you love.
I Never Knew That there was so much Beauty Hidden in These Plain Looking, Ordinary Rocks! Now Thanks To You, I Cannot Wait To Try This👍😉🇨🇦
So much more fun than "unboxing." A fun way to start the morning. Thanks, Agate Dad!
Happy to bring joy to your day!! ❤
I can't tell you how many rocks I pick up that I would love to do this to. Glad I am not alone.
That purple agate is georgeous oh my goodness in love with that one
I love all rocks, agates etc nature is just beautiful.
Why don't you use some kind of protection for your fingers!!! Please!!!😖
With orbital saws wearing gloves are more dangerous. If the blade hits your finger while wearing gloves it will pull the glove and hand into the saw; while just cutting will allow you to pull away after the cut.
The saw does not have teeth. A toothless saw cannot hurt you frfr
He physically can’t cut his fingers on that saw. It doesn’t cut, it grinds.
These surprise cutting videos teach me a lot. Thank you very much for your amazing content!
I'd like to see the last one under a black light.
3.25 reminds me of BACON!!!
So much fun watching u cut rocks. I love it!
I loved watching you with your rocks . My family are rocks hounds from way back . The yard is full of petrified rocks .
i envy how comfortable you are with your saw. i could absolutely see some of those cut into slices for jewelry. even the "ugly" ones could be cool. number 10 has so much going on, it kind of imitates script agates. thanks for sharing.
They may not be super banded, but I absolutely love mossy stuff. I love looking at that suuuuper fine detail and seeing the little bands in the little pockets and swirls.
My grandfather was into lapidary. He built a coffee table where he laid slices of stones around the top, then covered it with acrylic. This video reminds me of him & that table. (I commandeered the coffee table when he passed because it is just such a cool piece of retro art!)
The banded agates were beautiful. I also liked the duds as well. I’m struck by their uniqueness. Thanks!
Every Stone is special!🤩💝💞💖💕
The very first one made me cry bc it looked like angel wings. The things that touch your heart when you are going through hard times.🤔I think a bunch of these that are cut and put in a beautiful bowl would look incredibly georgeous.
I saw the angel wings too. So lovely a hidden treasure
Even the ones you were disappointed in I found beautiful. That last one, though-WOW! Absolutely gorgeous.
Mossy overload at 5:13. You can never go wrong with purple and blue in stones especially agates. The brecciated stone 11:41 looks like mostly Jasper would be a awesome polish, the carnelian color in the last one makes the entire agate pop. Thanks for cutting and sharing the common rocks never know until you know.
Is there any way to cut these without being risky to your fingers?
That final cut was beyond awesome!!! Stud muffin rock, thanks for sharing!
The last one was awesome, but my favorite was the tiny purple one. Thank you for sharing! Stay warm. ❤️😃
A slice from each side would make beautiful ear rings. thanks for sharing.
The last one looked like a particular mushroom cap even had part of the stem. Peeling that bandaid was a total success. It was a stunner.
As an amature jeweler I love watching this video. It's my first time and there's nothing like surprises. Thanks😊
Your enthusiasm is contagious! Loved the "ooo"s and "awww"s. Beautiful video, thank you for sharing!
Always great to watch your episodes--and the clarity and focus of your photographs is such a bonus!
Thank you! ❤
Can't get enough of your informative, cutting videos!😍
Great batch! I will confess, I do like the quartz. That last one…wow!
That last one was off the charts!! I want to see that one polished. This was a fun one.😎
I like your videos because you’re not afraid to cut the weird ones even if they’re duds. 😊
It’s so fun!
That last one looks like a 🍄 mushroom! ❤
There was one that had a lot of colors and you didn't know what it was, I bet it's fossilized poop, it looks so much like it! Worth saving or selling!
The last one is so beautiful! I'm learning to look at the outside in a whole new way. I collected rocks when I was a kid, I wish I knew what was inside then!
OMG that last one, incredible? what a surprise. Yes always trust the gut.
Great video!! I always enjoy getting to share in the excitement when you cut open rocks.
You and me both! It’s so much fun, I don’t know how you couldn’t enjoy all of this 😂
The last one in the first set looked like a fancy boiled egg! Thank you for doing these! I feel better about the "junk" I find that I'm so sure will be SOMETHING and then it's nothing booo
Oh wow, some of those are so unique and beautiful. Thank you for sharing this with us. ❤
Your glee is infectious :) This makes me want to get back out there and drag a bunch of rocks home lol You found some beautiful ones!!
I don’t know but I have a thing for stones that have quartz in them too 😅 Not sure why so many don’t like the quartz ♥️😊These were all so pretty other than maybe one or two I wasn’t a fan of.
I’m a new sub. I love watching the great reveals! My taste is different from yours though; some that you don’t like I think are pretty! When I was a child there was a guy at the county fair who had a pile of geodes. You could buy one for a buck and he would open it up for you. Endlessly fascinated me. He called the duds “mudballs” and would give you another chance. So glad I came across you!
So happy for you on the last one. Great job. What courage and daring!
A lot of the stones you cut and past up were so gorgeous
Last cut....breathtaking! Still comprehending the beauty.
How do you know in which direction you have to cut a stone ? I wonder
So happy to find your channel today! So fun to watch and to listen to you enjoy your work so much!
Some of those were absolutely stunning. Thank you for sharing nature's beauty.
Yesterday I found a 39 pound lake superior agate
Share pictures and tag me :)
What??? Please share more info! 😀
What!!!?
its a bot
I found an ugly agate. Thought about seeing if I could send to you to cut.
This is my first video of yours, and I couldn't stop watching! With a recent lesson on geology and my collection of DnD dice growing, I was absolutely captivated! I love how unique and beutiful the rocks are!
I'm holding my breath as you do each reveal. Love watching this stuff.
I hope to get there some day.
From the thumbnail I thought these were really ugly gluten free baked goods.
I am consumed with rock hounding! The saw looks 😮. I am so happy to have stumbled upon your site. Awesome!
That last one...fabulous!
That last one was a real stunner!
Thanks for sharing the giant big Jasper cut at the end ..I really appreciate it!
Wow,that last guy was fabulous!! I really liked the purply one as well, gorgeous color. The one you zoomed for us didn't impress me at first, but a closer look and it was sooo cool!
Last one..outstanding! Loved watching!😊
Love the purple/blue agate with shadow banding!
You’re a delight to listen to when you discover what the insides look like, especially those that bring you joy! The one at 3:25, I would have described as a petrified Butterfinger cut in half!
I have no idea how to spell this rock, but at 13:01 you called one rock “kale Sidney” and said those types usually have nothing going on inside. I might have a few relatives and friends I could refer to as kale-Sidney or Kale and Sidney! 😂🤣.
I just discovered rock hunting on a whole new level. I’ve lived in Texas 70 years and have beach combed all along the Texas Gulf shores for seashells many times. I’ve also found a few river rocks I’ve brought home from camping, but we just don’t have rocks in the quality and variety as y’all have around the Great Lakes. And, because I’m hopefully moving to the UP in a few months, I found some channels that popped into my YT algorithm when searching other stuff for the UP. I can’t wait to explore this brand new hobby I now have. Thanks for sharing your rock hounding with YT! I’ve subscribed.
The very first cut of banded quartz look like Angel Wings!!! Thank you, I really enjoyed the opening of every stone you cut. Mahalo!
I’m new to rock hounding. I wanted to thank you for your videos! They are very informative and fun to watch.
Thank you for these clips. First time coming across your channel. Awesome. I've been a collector all my life and my name vouches for that, lol. Petra the Rock 😊
Love your craftsmanship, love you have all your fingers, thank you for sharing your knowledge
That last one was so gorgeous.
Amazing the variety!! Thanks taylor for sharing all those with us!! I love your reference to “peeling off the bandaid” 😂 that tells us how much you love your rocks!! Like most of us😅 The last one was stunning!! Love it! Keep sharing👍😃⛏💕
5:28 loved loved that spotted one , and the video right before this one ( I should go back and highlight) because I’d definitely purchase a few if you opened some type of agate shop! Thanks for doing some unknown odd balls, because I’ve been curious on what’s inside some of these less gravity weighty ones in our collections
Wooow the last one was awesome! In general there were some really cool ones!
Wow! The last one looks like a mushroom cap. Amazing and beautiful.
Thank you so much for sharing your finds with us. I love watching😮
i absolutely LOVE that one at 15:19. that one and the ones like it have been my fav through the whole video
I love how excited and joyful you got when you opened the last one. 🎉🎉🎉 beautiful stone.

The last one is stunning!
I don’t know how I came across this channel, but I’m glad I did. I didn’t know I needed it until I found it.
Definitely love that last one!
Last cut is so beautiful!
That last one was really beautiful!!
So many I like I cannot comment on them all ❤ holy smokes you always hit the jackpot. Love it!!
That green one at about 18 minutes into your video is actually my favorite so far❤
They’re all so beautiful!
You've got me hooked ,your enthusiasm ,you get excited ❤
Awesome!
It seems that many of the smaller agates are the most beautiful! They can be absolute gems IMO! The last one was a beauty!
That's awesome, the last one, I feel ya!
What a finish! Wow.
We have tons of rocks where I’m at like some of those I didn’t know they could look soo cool inside. I pick rocks all the time. I just love 💕 rocks 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼❤️❤️❤️
Your very first stone you opened look like angel Wings, that's my favorite 💟😍
I agree!!
You always save the best to last! Love it!
Omg the last one!! They reminds me of a trippy 60's brown mushroom tops! 😍
That was so fun to watch, thank u 4 sharing 😊 I thought they were all super pretty except 1. I admit one of them looked so pretty on the outside that I wouldn't have cut it open (the little orange one towards the end that was smoky inside) but that was a super satisfying video!
and again an awesome cutting video! thank you taylor 👌🏻
I work in a rock and crystal shop and this was such a fun watch!
