Stones speak to us, in the wisdom of our mother earth she sends us these wonderful gifts. I really enjoy your show, random slabbing, parking lot picking, buying off the net so we dont have too... and then of course, theres that smile...❤
I go out rockhounding every day at the beach and creeks, just today I found a piece of orbicular jasper with orange orbs on a red background. We have some awesome rocks in WA, and it's legal to collect in most state parks here.😁👍
I'm respectfully cracking up at your "some more fast finds for ya!" Minnesota accent you pointed out. 😂 AWESOME tips and hunting at that lesser-known rockhounding spot. ROCK ON!! 😁👍🏻🪨⛏️
I don't think I will ever find myself on the shores of Lake Superior as I'm in the UK, but you certainly found some interesting rocks. Thanks for sharing them.
I live in Minnesota, but about a 3+ hour drive south of Duluth (I live in a suburb of Minneapolis). I traveled to London in the summer of 2017. My family and I found some very cool chert/flint type stones there. A somewhat translucent black or dark grey with white flecks. We brought a bunch home! I also have a picture of a wall made out of those stones! Overall, London was a very cool city. Of course, I also loved Tower bridge, Big Ben and all the other well known places! BTW, Minnesota is a cool place to visit!
I love how much joy these beautiful ancient stones bring you. You know what would be cool? Drill a hole into the rocks and put an LED bulb inside. Glue them to some drift wood maybe. Thank you for these videos, they bring me peace and excitement 😊
That was fun watchinh you guys collect I love the variety of colors in Lake Superior agates. Those greens where fabulous! Hope to see you tumbling and slicing soon. 😁 Your enthusiasm is contagious!
Oh my goodness I was like I wondering if Ariel has uploaded recently last night ... nope sad face Then I wake up this morning OMG I couldnt click fast enough to start watching 🥰
Wow! Again an amazing video! I love how happy and helpful you always are! Keep going on! Sadly I live in the Netherlands so I will not soon be able to go to Lake Superior. Still thanks for your tips!
I found several agates here in Oceanside, Oregon a few days ago! I think the thrill of what may be found is just as exciting as actually finding a great one!
Ariel your so exciting to watch on your hunt and your enthusiasm never disappoints glad you brought the waders not as colorful as your other boots but keeps you dry enjoy the videos very much thank you for sharing your trip
Grand Marais is wonderful. I'm heading up for a week next month. OF COURSE I will be rock hunting! My favorite finds are palm stones that I can hand polish with sand paper. At 11:45 that rock out in the lake looks a bit like Five Mile Rock.
@@jamesrich8463 My family and I have found some incredible rocks there. Not in Grand Marais itself but around the area. There are great finds if you know where to look.
Great tips! I was at my spot today on South shore and scored some goodies! People go to that beach to look for agates but they don't go to the quieter end, And that's where all the goods are. Have to say though, my season is coming to an end for in water rocks because I've been doing it for so many years and developed lumbar spinal stenosis also working very physical jobs lifting a lot. So now it's sit on a cushion and go for the washed up ones. It has been nice sitting in the water all summer though. And then soon the ice will come and cover them all up! I found my first amethyst crystal last February when ice shelf was melting. That's another pro tip.
I would have been the happiest man in the world if the simple things that make you happy would have made me happy. The older I'm getting the more boring I'm getting. At 55, as of August 31st, just about every part hurts, and the part that doesn't hurt doesn't work. Ladies and gentlemen, Elvis has left the building.
Yeah I am in my 50's and besides watching baby opossum videos on YT not much brings me happiness , everything is shutting down , already shut down or hurts, these rich bastard politicians trying to raise retiremeant age to 72 can go F**k themselves I can't comepete against 20 year old people for open jobs. Don't even get me started on how easy it is to gain weight or how difficult it is to lose it after you turn 50.
in nebraska we have what we call a cob rake. it is like a pitch fork that is bent at a 90 degree angle with a full length handle, . you can use it to pull out things in the water to you, also it can be used to to garden or as a a general stability tool
Throughout the first half of the video, all I could think about was how there were no insects this time! Then lo and behold, out comes the insect netting halfway through the video 🤣🤣🤣
I need you in my backyard!! I live in North Sweden and I have stones.. I love stones since I was a little girl.. And trust me.. im gone for hours.. with a car-trailer.. I don’t know the names of stones/rocks/gems.. But I have tons of them.. 😅😅
The green one is Michigan's state stone! It's not thompsonite, it is chlorastrolite and is only typically found on isle royal so that traveled far plus it was heart shaped, can I buy it please?
Duluth is about 700 miles from me, Missouri. You're having good hunting. 😅 Next time I want you to get scuba gear so you can jump in go diving for 🪨.😮 I thought you'd wear camouflage, and wait for the perfect specimen to crawl by😅. That one rock in your bag, I saw it breathing, like on The Outer Limits😂. Have fun...😊
If I am ever out your way, I'm just gonna tell your family "Ariel is going to be gone for the day. She'll be back." Then politely make you go hounding with me lol.
I found 2 giant agate chips on a sand beach on a very small island😂 i spent 4 days searching on the beach. Best of all, i was on the canary islands and they obviously were lake superior agates by the colour
What is the law in Minnesota for being on beaches in front of private property? In Michigan, we're allowed to hunt for rocks up to the highest waterline.
You should get those really long waterproof gloves that Go past your elbows that way you could reach down into the water and not get your hands and arms, wet.
You make me wanna go to the US just to search for some rocks at that lake, but unfortunately I live in Germany and don‘t reeeally have the money to visit hahahahahaha 😂

Coolio, glad to catch an upload early. I just found this channel and it's so delightfully nerdy. These videos ooze with a super infectious joy.
I love that you're picking up other kinds of rocks too!!

Good things come to those who wade
9:30 I found a rock EXACTLY like this in Lake Michigan a couple weeks ago. Mine is much tinier but I have been wondering what it is too.
That is so cool!!
It kinda looks like a yooperlite, take a UV blue flashlight to it and you will find out that way
@@rikki1764 I only have a UV light that's 385-390nm. Would one of that wavelength make it glow a tiny bit (assuming it is yooperlite), or not all?

Are you going to tumble these!? Can't wait to see what they look like!
Interesting, but how can you tell the difference in the vesticular textures between agates and basalts. Thanks
Thank you. Question: What would be the most valuable crystals up in that area?
Eggggggit yehhhhhh it’s coming home
Do you take a UV torch to look for yooperlites.😊

I would love to look for agates there but unfortunately I'm about 1,986 miles from there and I'm content on finding agates here in Washington state.😂
The green one is likely epodite or serpentine. Common in Thunder Bay
up here in Thunder Bay so much amythist its insane

What's the shovel you're using? I checked your amazon store and didn't see it
