I had the pleasure of seeing him in person in 1969 at the Greek theater in Los Angeles! I am a music fanatic and I have been all my life. He did a two hour and 15 minute show in front of 15,000 people, and every single song sounded like the first one he did and everyone was better than the one before! He has rapture in his voice, and that voice Grabs the crowd and puts you into a trance. I will never forget that concert! One of the best vocalist I’ve ever heard or listen to.

Mr. Jones was THE favorite in my childhood home. He had manly appeal and the pipes of pure gifted talent. I like that you point out his awareness and partnering with the microphone because, yes, singers with strong voices had to move away and towards those mics. So not only did the singer have to hone his/her craft and learn the phrasing and mood of the song, but learn how to work with the equipment to convey it. To become one with the song. I will NEVER stop getting chills from this performance.

He used to play at the Chateau de Ville in Framingham, MA every year throughout the 70's. I went to see him every time he played including one year I left the hospital without Dr. ok the day of the concert because there was no way I was missing Tom freaking Jones. LOL
