About losing a 1,000 points in ranked out of nothing... it seems that it happens when you lose 3 times in a row against people with the same rank as you or 1 above/below. And you gain 1,000 if you win 3 games in a row against those
Ranked Points Explanation: You get a win streak bonus (usually double what you'd normally get) if you get three wins against players within one rank of yourself. You get a losing streak "bonus" (usually double what you'd normally lose) if you get three losses against players within one rank of yourself. Wins or losses against any players beyond that one rank limit do not count toward streak bonuses. If you beat a player you will always earn slightly fewer points compared to losing to that same player. For instance, if you beat a player and get 500 points, losing to that same player would see you lose 520 points. Beating a higher ranked player, you will both win and lose more points than beating a lower ranked player. As best I can tell, you will always win/lose points for any match regardless of rank disparity. I don't have my ranked play set to "any" so I can't completely verify that, but for sure plus or minus three ranks. Note: The ranked system is bad. You shouldn't lose maximum points for losing to someone higher ranked than you that you're supposed to lose to (in theory). You definitely shouldn't lose more points than you would have gained by winning. These are just a few of the many reasons why people don't rematch. My best guess is that the devs assumed most players would play the whole first to three, so the points would balance out in the end. But when the weak players leave after one match, and the honorable players stay for the full set (and potentially lose more points), it becomes unbalanced.
At the very least just let us go back to character or stage select from the post game screen, instead of having to leave entirely and go through like 3 more menus than necessary.
With the plugging section, I was actually on promo once and the opponent plugged on me then my next game wasn't even a promo but turned out that plug counted as a loss for me... crazy
the fireworks is similar to the DOA hair color change when they first introduced it, figured they would do somthing like that since they hired some ex DOA 6 director into the team.
Saying "All Netcode needs some work other than SF6". I uh... no? Killer Instinct, Guilty Gear Strive, GBFVS Rising, Power Rangers Battle For The Grid, MK11 (Not MK 1 somehow though lmao) etc. Netcode, if you know what you're doing is very much so solved. Keits, the lead Dev of KI has said: "Rollback is hard to do, but it is not harder to do for 3d games than 2d. You are still just receiving input, checking your client's predictions, and resimulating to the current frame if the predicted input was wrong." Yes there are some connections that are unplayable no matter what but in the games I've listed, even on an unstable 200+ ping connection, they are still more stable than Tekken 8. Lets not downplay this, Tekken 8 Dropped the ball again. Is it better than 7's? Absolutely. Is it good/keeping up with the industry? Not really no.
So true, there are even 3D fighter dreamcast on fightcade which has rollback and they work super great And the myth of rollback is harder to put on a 3D fighter is a bullshit excuse from harada. Since the new VF game was leaked and gonna have rollback we have to see how SEGA will figure it out about the implementation.
The points system is absolutely horrendous, given the fact there’s no restriction to which ranks u match up with, it’s catered more to higher rank player then lower rank players, just like their recent balanced patches buff the strong and nerf the weaker characters even more 🤦🏽♂️ as a lower rank u should be able to reap the reward for beating higher ranked players and not worry about losing the same number of points or even more to that higher rank player, the higher rank player will usually leave due to the fact they don’t earn as much points when they win against lower ranked players unless they want a rematch just to get wins.
whats crazy is that isn't even the full list of problems. its not even mentioned by arsenalty how many people have paid $70 upfront (OR MORE) for this game, in the state that its in, and the likely trend of its updates, and the consumers aren't given the choice like the arcades to just walk away after paying less than $2. on top of the in-game cash shop as if the leads of the development team, or the studio, warrant any justification in asking for more money.
@@Bad4bizbrad Yeah really early on. I forgot what their solution was, but SF6 solved it simply by rewarding the player that didn't disconnect the win while the plugger lost points. Don't know why this isn't the default for fighters.
There's a bunch of issues with the UX that this video doesn't touch on at all. Like how cumbersome it is to find a particular player's profile, especially if you haven't just played against them or they're not near the top of the leaderboards. You can't search by name for some reason, only by Tekken ID which they don't even let you copy to your clipboard so you have to write it down by hand. Insane.
What I at least noticed is there is an issue causing the resource usage higher where after sometime playing the game, so I thought it was my own network maybe + I don't see the PC indicator saying anyone in red so I tested my network and all's good but it still felt really bad then I just went to main menu do "hmm for few secs" back into the Ranked Match and somehow it worked. I guess there really is problem with the resource usage causing leak in PC (Dunno about console). Also I at least noticed that you can play in Ultra setting for effect (for pc just fine) but once breaking walls or floor breaking or floor/wall slamming etc the game will have up and down with the FPS where I guess it is probably due to the rubbles and particles + smoke (I guess fog? anyway it is like that kind of effect) that took such high usage of resource from your PC cuz I set most of the other setting to Medium (Except Texture cuz this should stay ultra) to make sure at least no matter what the game will run smoothly and yeah I just change the Effect to high cuz ain't no way I'm sticking to ultra setting for the effects when it is kind of bugging
MK just gets free skins and one piece of gear, so for Kung Lao you can change his hat but not his wrist guards or hats. That's it. Most characters only have 2 free costumes still.
I could agree for most of what he said but not so much for some for thats just petty. Like Paul's hairstyle, Steve's VA and Panda for some f-ing reason! I'm surprise he didn't mentiined Lee's outfit as well.
Would be cool if they added a tournament mode that could be played in the fight lounge, weekly or monthly with people from that area. Maybe even win some fight coins in 1st second third?
7:36 I’m quite sure that is possible and the cheaters are waiting for them to reward people who get plugged on so they can rise to the highest rank without even finishing one match. It’s not a question of how many are doing it now because now there isn’t benefit from doing it.
Who cares? Cheaters are gonna cheat one way or another, but that negative is far outweighed by the fact that actual players will get rewarded properly for their wins.
Their rollback implimentation is the opposite. On real rollback netcode at 50ms, you won't see any rollback happening and the delay remain fixed. Generally I prefer buffs to nerfs, but I think there is like 10 characters that need nerfs right now just so that there is a baseline game that everyone is playing. If there is to be option and counterplay, you can’t just give everyone absolutely broken tools like azu wr32.
This is an absolutely insane thing to say. When you say "sluggish" do you mean " I can't keep back dashing non-stop when someone activates heat and since I've been back dashing non-stop for 100 years I feel like I'm moving slow."??
@@arpadszabo661it is sluggish, if you drive a buggati but has to stop every few miles it would feel sluggish too. Heat burst, heat engager, rage art pauses interrupt the flow of a round so much, it's jarring
@@egrassa1480 Oh yeah, it would be so much better if everyone would just nonstop spam their 10 hit combo like zombies back and forth. No thinking required just put down your controller and wait for a chance the punish. Literal garbage idea.
+17 run up for the next 10 years off 5 moves from everyone? Yea nah. Ex: ff3 Lee is a knockdown without heat. So why not make it just enter heat when it connects, no 17 frame run up and you get the mind game of the knockdown plus you can still turn your safe high power crush into +5 heat dash if you wanted 🙄
Low level players like buffs and hate nerfs High level players hate unnecessary buffs and would rather nerfs The low level fanbase tends to be the casual crowd that doesn't stick around anyway... why appease the casuals
Only real difference between bears is the heat burst. Kuma sends flying, useful for hard walls. Panda spikes down, useful for other stage mechanics. Kuma having the EWGF is irrelevant apart from a frame trap.
Kumas electric is not just a frame trap. You can use it in the middle of combos for huge damage, it does alot of chip and the charged cd input version hits for like 35 damage and leads into a 120 dmg combo. It's a huge deal and makes him very strong in heat.
@@geese1717 you can't just hold back with such large amounts of chip damage especially with heat and Kuma doing large amounts of damage. You're thinking way too linearly. It is "only one move" but it's a high value option. This is like saying Angel got given EWGF in TTT2 so everyone thought she was top tier but her range was ass so then they eventually realised she sucks. It's "only one difference" but it's high value.
30:40 not only that but the "5 bar only" tolerance is waaaay too loose, i'm in EU and most of my matches are 80-100 ping for no reason considering my surrounding internet infrastructure and the game's current popularity. so i'm here like - idk can i have "5 bar extra" option or something
The juggles are simply too long and damaging in this game. Its also far too generous making what was once a hard juggle with jins ch f4 as well as even lees pick up b33 made easier. Its also because of this excessively generous juggle system is the reason why you get these ridiculous trades where you can still convert to a full combo even after recovering from the hit stun. The juggling mechanic needs rework, hope they address this in tekken 9 or something.
I do not understand what the whole point of the Tekken Lounge is. Did the story in there, made some goofy avatars with friends, checked it out. Never went back. Seams pointless.
@zoran6850 sure. But me and my friends just start a lobby with each other and chat in a party. The avatars and looking for an arcade and sending challenges. Just all looks like extra steps
@zoran6850 lol They were good at it in the past. Pre Tekken 6 the menus were simple, fast and to the point. They knew you were there for one reason, and one reason only and aside from the intro cinematic they didn’t put a bunch of crap in your face. I guess the lounge can be fun and to each his own. But I don’t need Tekken 8 to be META or Twitter. Just want Tekken to be where I punch my friends in the face.
@zoran6850 the favorites on T8. I don’t even get the point. You just mark stuff as your favorite. It doesn’t go anywhere, it’s not added to some quick access menu. It just has a cute little Jin tat mark next to it.
There should simply be flag counts of number of disconnects a player has and in the search option there should be an option to filter for number of disconnects.. one or two can be network issue.. too many are pluggers.. if game cannot ban, atleast players should be allowed to use their brain to not play such people.. also, there should be a filter for WiFi players.. there should be a filter for PC types.. or have a filter for crossplay with PC players based on RAM, graphics card and processor, simple PC fingerprinting is enough to know these informations.. heck, I can do it for them for free, it’s a simple 2 hours work..
Rip why don't they make and option to play ranked matches in the tekken lounge with other players in that server with you I don't understand isn't that what that arcade quest all about playing at local spots like Video 94 or super arcade with tour tekken card and doing deathmatches and other cool things that could be done the lounge.
I just don't get it. Gideon Emery was the voice of Balthier in FFXII and Biggs in Remake. He played Henry Black Blackburn in Battlefield 3 and Fergus Reid in Wolfenstein the New Order. How the F did he botch Steve's voice so badly?
Blame the voice director Tekken has a history of voice actors sounding particular compared to other work they’ve done (and this is not limited to the english speaking ones) Just like the bad translations, it’s something they just refuse to put in effort for
I don't mind reduced customization in Tekken. Looked at soul Calibur. They had the craziest customization and you end up fighting a giant floppy dick in ranked. Sure, that's funny maybe for a casual local match, but it ruins the competitive integrity of the game. If there were rules around that or what's allowed in certain modes, it's probably fine, but like RIP said, it makes it a lot harder to optimize
You are like 5th CC/tournament caster that mentioned "how is it possible he didnt get banned". Dont you ever get chance to ask this someone from Tekken team that could actually answer this?
I am not, nor have I ever been, an employee of Bandai Namco. Being a caster does not mean you are on the development team or that you are even in contact with anyone actually working on the game.
At its core Tekken 8 is a really good game but the online play is average at best. But this is coming from someone who hasn’t played fighting games since 2004 🤷🏾♂️😆
The CPU is easy because hes abusing it. If he played the AI like its an actual player and you're grying to find and create openings its a different experience.

With regard to whats shown on screen during the anti-cheat section, (gigantic custom items) I assumed something similar about cheatengine being used until I saw a twitter clip of someone with a giant item on console. There must be some sort of bug in customization mode that allows it to happen. I tried searching and experimenting a bit myself and cant figure it out though. My question is how can modders who do things solo with no studio behind them working putely out of passion make cosmetics thats shit on an actual studio sold item in thr Tekken shop?
Let's see a "JACK KING" exhibition: Anakin, Joey Fury, and Joe Crush vs Lil Majin, Brawlpro, and Jessandy.
Heat engaging armor moves is stupid lol
Generally I prefer buffs to nerfs, but I think there is like 10 characters that need nerfs right now just so that there is a baseline game that everyone is playing. If there is to be option and counterplay, you can’t just give everyone absolutely broken tools like azu wr32.
I still can’t get over the fact how much the flow of a match is interrupted. The game feels so sluggish.
There is no shot you started playing fighting games in more than a year ago if you think this is sluggish lmao
This is an absolutely insane thing to say. When you say "sluggish" do you mean " I can't keep back dashing non-stop when someone activates heat and since I've been back dashing non-stop for 100 years I feel like I'm moving slow."??
facts. constant screen freezes. i was playing vf4 recently and it felt wayyy smoother
I’m pretty sure in tekken revolution you would get points if they quit on you, dunno why they can’t just bring that process back
Yeah they had to patch that because people would plug and you could lose your coin :[ but Tekken should give you a win for getting someone that salty
just make super arts 16-19 frames. its the sweet spot and even my yellow rank ass can see that.
Haha “my yellow rank ass”. I do agree with your suggestion though. I also need them to make armor moves unsafe. It’s absolute bs that they are.
Don’t mind having now win indicator. It will just haunt me and show how many loss I had.
Kind of a sad thing to admit. Everyone loses, it's part of the process of growing.
When I play I sometimes have to press the home button on Xbox and then it loads it back up. It’s the weirdest thing
Low level players like buffs and hate nerfs
High level players hate unnecessary buffs and would rather nerfs
The low level fanbase tends to be the casual crowd that doesn't stick around anyway... why appease the casuals
Only real difference between bears is the heat burst. Kuma sends flying, useful for hard walls. Panda spikes down, useful for other stage mechanics.
Kuma having the EWGF is irrelevant apart from a frame trap.
lmao "apart from a frame trap", considering they normally DON'T have frame traps from blocked moves, that is a BIG deal especially with their range
@@willus259 Sure but who isnt blocking vs a kuma in heat?
30:40 not only that but the "5 bar only" tolerance is waaaay too loose, i'm in EU and most of my matches are 80-100 ping for no reason considering my surrounding internet infrastructure and the game's current popularity. so i'm here like - idk can i have "5 bar extra" option or something
dss bug wasn't addressed ;/
@zoran6850 lol
They were good at it in the past.
@zoran6850 I know. It doesn’t work. I changed all my favorites the tattoo list is the same no favorites to be found
Personally I want armor and rage art to just go away. Just keeps low and mid level players from learning the game
Watch Phixd’s video on how rank points work. He explains it well. Went thru a lot of data to make that video.
My favorite part is everything people hate. Even makes the pros sound like scrubs.
Leave Victor alone he's already had his nerf...now them dang dirty bears🤔🤔🤔🤣🤣🤣😝
From 5 minutes to 40 bro wtf 😭 Good analysis tho
I don’t know how many people that play Bryan have a Hitler customization but I’m pretty sure I ran into that guy the other day lol
People like me who can play 1 or 2 char and been only playing them forever , we really dont care about team battle.
Polaris Fatal Errors were missed
I always get that in the rainy stage while playing online.
I just don't get it. Gideon Emery was the voice of Balthier in FFXII and Biggs in Remake. He played Henry Black Blackburn in Battlefield 3 and Fergus Reid in Wolfenstein the New Order.
How the F did he botch Steve's voice so badly?
Blame the voice director
Tekken has a history of voice actors sounding particular compared to other work they’ve done (and this is not limited to the english speaking ones)
Just like the bad translations, it’s something they just refuse to put in effort for
They told him be obnoxiously British eh guv
I don't mind reduced customization in Tekken. Looked at soul Calibur. They had the craziest customization and you end up fighting a giant floppy dick in ranked. Sure, that's funny maybe for a casual local match, but it ruins the competitive integrity of the game. If there were rules around that or what's allowed in certain modes, it's probably fine, but like RIP said, it makes it a lot harder to optimize
Or maybe they could add an option in the settings to have it to where you only see your opponents in the preset costumes.
@@Bad4bizbrad yeah, that would be cool. They already have a streamer mode for unique stuff like that, so shouldn't be too hard
everything wrong with t8: everything.
47 means go back to TEKKEN 7
no rip no buy
Panda is Kuma's gf that's why she's in the game... 😂
it is abit dumb that you cant mix the preset costumes with the costumes outfits
At its core Tekken 8 is a really good game but the online play is average at best. But this is coming from someone who hasn’t played fighting games since 2004 🤷🏾♂️😆
namco yall better be watching thhis video
The CPU is easy because hes abusing it. If he played the AI like its an actual player and you're grying to find and create openings its a different experience.
Steve has a new voice?
He's had the same voice actor since Tekken 6 so it confused me too
Tekken has been downgraded to an scrubby armored filled anime game. Im disgusted.
Love how cute you look in the thumbnail 😍
How is this nearly 40 mins 😂
Thought the same exact thing!!!🤣
Honestly... I couldnt believe it either. I was on topic but I was talking about netcode and tournament things for like 10 minutes+ I think lol
@@LevelUpYourGame It’s all good man, just poking fun at the initial sight of it being 40 minutes. Entertaining as always and I’ll be watching them all regardless to be honest. Love this channel and all that you do for the FGC. Cheers mate🍻
Nice profile pic
It's why we're here lol
Tekken customization has been getting worse and t8 is crap
I play drag so I know him. Is he that strong in this game?
Top1 character
Dude… He has the highest win rate of any character in the game currently.
@@Bad4bizbrad okay explain what makes his so strong pls
I think Steve's voice is dope!
me and my son tried to play online with each other. we live in the same house, we connected but the game is unplayable with shit ftame drops so went back playing offline.
Steve's voice isn't new but ok XD
i dont like how the guy about three times begged for free stuff, like said in the video street fighter has an ungodly amount of paid costumes if you want it just buy it, spending an extra 5 dolla is not gonna be the end of your life, the costumes do not do anything doesn't make you better or worse the whinying is just so annoying
Ripped off content
Go talk to arsenalty if you think it's such a problem. I guarantee you he will be fine with it.
(I just wanted to troll a friend with it before they patch it out haha)
I want that tekken shop song in the jukebox. Wooooo. Give me my points for them rage quitting and take points away from them for disconnecting. Simple solution
