Share a little about you here in the comments…where you’re from, what you’re working on, book recommendations, etc. I would love to get to know you as well! ❤ thanks for hanging out :)
So glad I found you. You are such a delightful and thoughtful young woman. I love your art arrangement behind you. I would be interested in knowing what type of art you do and how you make a living from it if you ever feel like sharing this. Have a great week!
@@astitchingstory cool went to Spode Elementary school. West ladue middle but not around anymore. Then moved to Fl. My father retired when I was 16. You still close by?
Hi Polly. Clicked on your video by accident, but happy I did so. Looking forward to following you. I'm a knitter from Denmark. I have been a crafter most of my life but these days it is mainly knitting.
Polly! I’m so glad to learn more about you. Your knitting is beautiful. I’m a knitter and sewist, I love hearing about how you manage all the crafts you do!
Lovely podcast and chat. Would love to see some of your art other then the knitting :) I'm currently working on the Alvar pullover by Sari Nordlund and the Travelers Cardigan by Ozetta. Greetings from Iceland 🥰
I recommend reading Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano! A beautiful, sad, cozy story that’s absolutely impossible to put down 📚 Happy reading/knitting x
Hi Polly! I love in Ontario, Canada and our “winter” weather has been real wacky too. Above seasonal warm. I’m knitting a No Frills sweater by, of course, PetiteKnit! I’m also knitting a Reed Cardigan. That’s a fun striped sweater by Martin Storey. I love reading and knitting at the same time too! Just finished Tom Lake by Ann Patchett. Lovely storey. Have you read The Invisible Life of Addie Larue? Loved that. The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart. Read it before watching it! I could go on and on. Love your podcast. And I love that you are a career artist! Good for you it’s wonderful to love what you do ❤
I added those titles to my tbr! They seem like the exact type of books I would love…thank you so much for sharing! maybe I’ll start adding a little what i’m reading at the end of the podcasts :) i just looked up the Reed Cardigan…I love it oh my gosh it’s so fun! What colors are you using?
I recommend taking Hyaluronic acid with MSM as a preventative. It keeps the joints moist and is very good for your skin as a bonus. I have arthritis in my hands and wish I knew about it sooner. The arthritis keeps my knitting to smaller projects and short term....but I am happy I can still knit. I live in Windsor Ontario Canada...love your podcast...nice and easy just my style!
I looked that up and it looks like a great supplement for me...thank you so much for the info! I'm glad you still are able to knit at least a little bit!
Love your podcast. I love living in the Midwest (Wisconsin). We had the same crazy weather a few weeks ago. 72 degrees one afternoon and when I woke up the next day it was 12. 😮
Hi Polly, I’m Ihesha I live in Maryland. I am a crochet and knitter. Currently working on my eldest daughter’s sibling sweater. So great to get to know you, excited to see more podcasts from you in the future.❤
haha you're welcome! I know I feel lost as well when everyone in the world mentions celsius so I thought it was the least I could do....idk why we gotta be different but here we are lol
Hi Polly! I went to a D1 school in Southern CA and your morning surf sessions had me guessing where you went 😂 I’m not sure how you read on a kindle and knit at the same time (this is outside my skill set) but I definitely listen to audiobooks while knitting and totally recommend looking at audiobooks through Libby as well. I recently enjoyed the Thursday Murder Club about a group of 80 year olds in a retirement community that start trying to solve cold cases in their city. It’s great.
Oh my gosh I read the Thursday Murder club last summer and I loved it! It seems like we have similar taste in books...I may start sharing what I'm reading and what everyone here is suggesting. I love hearing what other people are reading. And I actually went to school in the Bay Area...it was a lot colder surfing up there than when I visited San Diego and LA!
Polly, I just love your podcast, it’s so nice and relaxing to listen to your voice. I’m currently working on my Cloud Sweater by Kutovakika. If you like romantasy I can recommend the book series by Mary e Pearson, one book is named „the kiss of deception“, but I’m not sure about the other ones, sorry. However, I read it several years ago and it’s still my fav in this genre
oh i LOVE a little romantasy :) i have trouble finding really good ones though, you know the ones that aren’t cringey lol, I’ll check it out for sure!! Good luck on your cloud sweater!
Loved this! Can't wait to see how the sweater turns out. I've been sewing and crocheting for a few years now - just getting into knitting. I made a beanie and it took so long. Knitting definitely feels much slower than crocheting to me, I'm sure my speed will improve with practice tho. Not sure what your taste in books are but some I always like to recommend are: The Push by Ashley Audrain The Reading List by Sara Nisha Adams (sooooo cozy and wholesome - would recommend the audiobook) Writers and Lovers by Lily King (I also loved Euphoria by the same author)
I remember feeling that way about knitting too…I also began as a crocheted and considered knitting to be so much work for so slow a result! once you get in to it though it becomes so addictive and (in my opinion) the garments made are so much more wearable. You’ll get faster too I promise! The Reading list looks positively adorable, I placed a hold on it on my library app! thank you ❤
@@astitchingstory Totally agree about the wearability of knitting! Hoping to get more into it this year❤ Would love to hear your thoughts on the book, I hope you enjoy it!
Hello, I like very much your style and your sophisticated choices in knitting. I'm currently knitting the Luz Cardigan in pastel colours version recommended by Stephaline_made. I love drawing and painting (but just as a hobby) so I admire you for this wonderful profession. I'm waiting your next episode. Greetings from Romania!
The Luz Cardigan sounds like it will be gorgeous...and perfect for spring! I started out as a hobbiest too and just couldn't get away from it...the nice thing about drawing and painting is you can decorate your home for way cheaper :) sounds like you are filling your life with beautiful things and I hope you continue!
Really enjoyed both your podcasts. You should share some of your artwork! I'm going to recommend a book I recently really enjoyed. In the event you haven't read it - I'd suggest The Invisible Life of Addie LeRue, by V.E Schwab. First few pages were slow to me, but soon I could not put it down. Good luck with your projects! Cant wait to see them.
So jealous of the snow you got this year! I’m in NC and I don’t think it’s snowed here in the past couple of years. I’m currently working on the Miles Shirt Jacket from Ozetta. I enjoyed the knit and chat ❤ I’ve had a running list of topics to film a knit and chat but I don’t think I can actually multitask well enough to say anything coherent while I knit 😂
Go for it! I edited out so many lengthy pauses right in the middle of sentences lol knitting really seems to just press pause for thirty seconds and then op right back where we left off. I couldn't believe the snow when I woke up that morning....I feel the same where I remember snow in my childhood but now not so much. At least it makes it extra magical when it does happen :) North Carolina is so beautiful though! I have visited it a few times and loved it.
@@astitchingstory that’s so helpful to know - I’ll give it a try the next time I have a free weekend and see if I end up with any usable content☺️ and yes NC is definitely a hidden gem! I’m glad you enjoyed your visits here
I live near St. Louis too! I’m a new knitter and was also wondering if there are any good yarn stores in St. Louis. I usually just shop from the website The Wooly Thistle.
I get some things from Yarn Com in Creve Coeur occasionally but I also order from La Mercerie in Seattle area for certain yarns like knitting for olive and order from Mother knitter in New Jersey for Sandnes Garn
Yarn Com in Creve Coeur is amazing for the sense of community! They have a bunch of weekly stitch groups/open stitch nights. They also have events and classes pretty often. I'm a Friday night and Sunday afternoon regular :) When I want to switch it up, I go to 7 Sisters in Concord (near Mehlville/Afton) because they have some different brands (I go for Knitting for Olive and Emma's Yarns). @@astitchingstory
I am actually quite close to Yarn Com as it turns out...I'll have to come to some of their Friday and Sunday groups and meet you irl! Funnily enough, my boyfriend lives close to 7 sisters so it seems meant to be! (especially if they carry KFO wowow). Thank you so much for sharing, I can't believe I hadn't found these before, and hopefully I'll see you around one of these soon!
Oh my gosh! I’m an avid knitting TH-cam watcher and never expect people to say they live in Mo! I’m also living in St Louis and also struggling to work on wintery wips. Let me know if you want to meet up, I’m always looking for crafty friends!!
Seems like there are a couple of us here in the comments! Makes me so happy because I never expect it either (I remember when I heard Those Twins who Knit lived in KC I was like !!! thats so close!)...some of the other commenters were mentioning groups that meet at Yarn Com in Creve Ceour. Maybe we can all meet up there or at one of my favorite coffee spots sometime...if you follow me over on insta (@astitchingstory) I'll post in my stories/you can dm me!
