Loved this! I'm 83, and taking my dog for a walk is the limit of my excercise. But I do stitchery and quilting to keep busy. And I can spend hours looking at art on pinterest.
I agree with Katie: I LOVE all of these unique “rock star” ideas!! I have been searching for something NEW to try, so I’m really excited now!! I think I’ll start with the devotional/coloring book!! I have always loved to color & used to color with my son when he was little. It will bring back fond memories!!! Thanks Leslie!
I’ve done several diamond paintings❤ I make junk journal’s, crochet, embroidery, sewing, etc. Keeps my sanity and brain going while caring for my husband.
My father has a rare form of dementia. He just turned 59. I watched this video to help me have hobbies to keep my mind busy as i have been struggling, as a 27 year old with a father in a nursing home. Its nice to see they are others going through similar times. Thanks for sharing ! I look forward to trying some of these hobbies! ❤
I want to thank you for the ideas you shared with us,i just recivied my first flower letter i was so excited! What kind of a brainy idea,im going through my letter for the 2nd time LOVE LOVE the whole thing, can't wait for my sedond letter, thanks again..Love you and hubby❤💙
So many great ideas! I’d love to add some more physical ones like walking and running. This is great for physical, mental and emotional health. It also can be so social. I love helping women over 50 cross finish lines they never thought possible! Ice trained women over 60 to do their first ultra marathons with no injuries! 🤩
I’ve been spending a ton of time on Pinterest. I have a board called “cozy” that’s full of images that make me feel good. It’s so perfect for scrolling through before bed. I have another board called nostalgia. I’ve been collecting images of things I had as a child and images of books and movies I loved.
I just signed up and ordered TheFlower Letters! The same one you ordered. I can’t wait to start getting them. I love all your ideas. I rug hook and do Bible Journaling and read to relax. I love studying Gods word. I live with chronic pain 24 -7 . I’m handicap so my life is in a recliner all day and night. Chemo and radiation did a lot of damage to my body. I have Lupus also. Y’all are in my prayers always, thank you for sharing your journey with all of us. 🙏🏻❤️🤗
I love all of your ideas Leslie! I have something fun and enjoyable you might want to do. Every morning when we get our cup of coffee first thing, we sit down together and do Wordle, Quordle, Waffle, Nerdle and Globe. We enjoy doing the puzzles so much that we hate missing a day!
Ty Leslie for the super fun & interesting ideas! I want to try many of them & will share this video w/my neighbor who retired recently & she is looking for fun things to do.
Great ideas, very different. I draw and paint when I can. Gardening is my thing. I don't have alot, arthritis is setting in, but I plant wildflowers and have fresh bouquets everyday all summer. My true joy. We all need those things that make us smile and is rewarding.
I encourage people to use something like the legacy journal. My mother has dementia, but in the process of going through some of her things recently I came across writings she had done of her childhood and growing up and these are treasures for me right now. I also had given her a Mother's Journal for Mother's Day one year and she had filled that in also. Time goes by quickly, and our health or physical ability to write can change over time, so these opportunities to leave our messages behind are important to do in the moments we are able.
I love these ideas! My favorite is ready a magazine like I did when I was young. It is so satisfying to turn the pages rather than swiping my phone for hours. 😊 Happy almost Easter to you and your family 🌸
Great ideas and several I’ve never heard about. I’ve been a sewer and quilter for years and still love to sew. Recently, I returned to cross stitching. I’m amazed at how the craft has evolved and it’s been so much fun. It’s so easy to pick it up for a few minutes and get some stitches done or stitch while watching a favorite show. Because it’s so portable it’s perfect for waiting rooms for doctor appointments. 🙂
I do stamped cross stitch. I found it during the great shut in and have done several pieces since then. Fewer options than counted cross stitch, but there are still hundreds and hundreds to choose from so I haven't felt limited yet.
Great ideas for everyone . I love British mystery movies and detective programs . I make hand made cards to send to people and supply my older sister with stationary because she loves sending things the old fashion way . Her handwriting is beautiful and she’s 82 . In the summerI love my flower garden , it’s small and enclosed , so peaceful . I also sit outside in the warm months with a coffee or tea and the little kids in the neighbour hood come visit me . We all need something that gives us pleasure right . Blessings .💕
You have some very unique hobbies. Great ideas. I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one who designs a dream home that I will never live in. The one thing that is different from you. I have found a few homes that are for sale locally and I look on pinterest to decide how I would remodel and decorate them. It doesn't cost me anything and it's so much fun. Lets me be creative. Love the new tackle box and also I see you have waders.
Flower letter sounds so fun! I spend all my free time making journals. I've always loved paper and anything vintage so it's a fun combination. Thanks Leslie!
The flower letters sound like something I would like. I do a lot of paper crafting, card making, making journals, etc. I love sending snail mail and matching envelopes to hand made cards with perfect stamps to match and pretty handwriting. On my bucket list since I've recently retired is learning to watercolor/ paint/ lettering.
Hi Leslie....You had recommended/suggested The Flower Letters as a gift idea, so I looked into it. I didn't know what to get my 86 year old mother for her birthday. So, I decided since she can't read like she used to and the fact that her husband just passed, that she might enjoy receiving mail and get lost in the lives and adventures of someone else. Well, she LOVES receiving them! I'm here visiting and have had the chance to read the 4 letters she's received so far! What a fun idea!!! I so appreciate all of your ideas and suggestions. I do pray for you and Jason and will continue to lift you two in prayer! Thanks again for all you do for your followers. Hugs!!
Hi Leslie. Well...I am over 60 and am going to give the DIY wooden house build a try. I ordered an English tea shop and can't wait to receive it. It is also a music box and lights up. Pinterest is one of my favourite pastimes as well. I love throwing a party on a theme and I've used so many of the ideas that left my guests oohing and aahing. So much fun. Have a blessed day and thanks for the fun ideas.
Thank you for covering this! It is so frustrating as a care giver when those that are not around all the time make it a point of telling me that there isn't anything wrong with my husband and I have a problem and need to let up on him. They don't have a clue. God bless you both!
I bought a similar journal book for my mom who is in her 90's but she hasn't written anything in it, unfortunately. My hobbies are gardening and quilting.
This is why I love your channel!! You always have fun and interesting things to share with us. I love writing letters, Scrapbooking, journaling, gardening, baking...a few more. I love tea too and your cup is so cute! I get a CS Farmhouse style mag. 😍 Thanks for these ideas! 🪻🐦🌷
Love the hobbies. I have started on the gem painting. I watched someone the other day who loves magazines and she tears out the pages that mean something to her and places them in a clear sleeve and has a 3 ring binder with all of her ideas, recipes and pretty pictures. Enjoyed the video.
I am so glad you made this video! I also play June's Journey for free. It has helped me with my memory so much. I was experiencing some brain issues after my husband passed. I know it may sound silly but it does help. I like all of your ideas that you shared. Thank you ❤️
I love your ideas, thanks for sharing. Very helpful and they look so fun! Yes, I have been playing June's Journey as well and it is blast:) I will keep you and your husband in prayer. Have a blessed day!
I’ve been wanting to try flower letters! I’m so happy to hear your thoughts on them. These are all such great hobby ideas! Thank you! My favorite hobbies are card making and other paper crafting.
My parents started together telling my daddy's story. Daddy would talk sometime they taped or mama wrote in a notebook. They had enough for a book. Daddy had dementia. We lost daddy on St Patrick's day 3 yrs ago. I miss him telling his stories. However we have his stories. Please don't wait.
My mother passed away last year. My mother had Parkinson’s with mild dementia, and these ideas would have been helpful. I’m in my mid-50s, I am a creative person to a fault so I thoroughly enjoyed these ideas. My fav are the flower letters, DIY book nook craft kit, and the diamond painting. This year, I decided to take piano lessons because we are empty nesters and the piano was collecting dust. However, health problems are beginning to show up so I have to shift gears and focus on wellness.
I am 63 and got back into reading in April. What came with that was hunting for books in thrift stores in my small town. I have built quite a library and I haven’t spent more than $1 each for my books. I also started doing puzzles and I am getting into paper crafting. I am trying to learn to crochet, but my impatience about wanting to make things instead of learning and practicing first is getting in the way. 🥴 I would love to travel and visit my grandchildren in Virginia (I’m in California 😢), but my almost 91 year old mother keeps at home.
I have so many hobbies. When my husband passed away in 2014, I ended up moving out of my home into a condo. I put away my sewing machine and serger and just didn’t have the heart to pull them out; however, recently I’ve had the itch to sew 🧵 and dragged out all my sewing supplies and began working on simple crafts again. Now, THANKS TO YOU!! I have ordered a few more things to add more hobbies to my list! Thanks a lot!! 😝 seriously, you had some great ideas. I’ve ordered the devotional, color, book and download of the game app. I noticed you sounded a bit nasally you like you’ve been sick again. I’m sorry if you are feeling under the weather I know you struggle a lot with your health blessings and may God give you healing and strength and God bless Jason. ❤
June's Journey is awesome! I even created a ritual, i dim down the light to see better (i play it on the computer on facebook), i prepare something to drink and snack. Love it!
Thank you for these ideas. I worked all my life and raised my kids. They are now in there 40s and I am retired. My life is watching TV until I fall asleep...sleeping late the next morning making the days not so long and spending the day sitting on my front patio, watching You Tube, TikTok and talking to my neighbors. This has given me great ideas to fill my time! Am looking forward to Diamond Art....I bought my granddaughters two pieces for Christmas and never got to see the finished products. Having something I created in my home where I can see it and appreciate it would be wonderful. Thanks again for these ideas!! 😊
What a fantastic video! I never knew most of the items mentioned even existed. Friends and family members came to mind that I could gift with a number of the products or would like to see these ideas presented as well. Thank you!
Enjoy your channel so much!! On your coloring devotional, color a little on each page when you read the devotion and move on to the next. After you’ve gone thru the book, start over and color in on the pages again to finish up or just do this as a continuation. This would give you a goal to finish but also not get board on each page. Just a thought. Blessings to you and Jason.
Thanks Leslie for sharing some great ideas. I just ordered the devotional coloring book. I think when you are a caregiver one needs something special that you can take time for yourself to enjoy. God Bless you.....
If you want to relax watch videos on you tube ….Romantic Evim….beautiful images of homes and gardens, and if I see a great idea I take a pic with my Ipad…….add a cup of tea ☕️ and it’s nice…..also I can enjoy while hubby watches a movie I might not care for, but I’m still next to him all cozy 😊there’s also renovation of chateaus and english manors, and Perspective, a show about ART….I adore art and the stories of the artists…..so fun✨
Leslie I loved this video! I’ve been thinking of a way I can get my mind off of work and life so much. I’ve been tempted on the flower letters several times I may just do that. I have several antique booths to keep up on so I don’t feel like decorating my home and outdoor space after working on those all the time. It was good to see you unwind a bit.
🧵🪡 Quilting , crafting, gardening, cooking, Jazzercise -so nice to be able to enjoy what I love since I retired 1 1/2 yrs ago after working 35 years and raising a family.
New subscriber from England 🇬🇧👋 I liked this,it's always good to try new things. I have chronic pain,so hobbies to stimulate the mind are relaxing and a distraction. I do manage to get out into nature on my mobility scooter, which I love.
I just enjoyed this so much. I need to quit scrolling too. It is completely a waste of my time and I know it. I am not really a crafty person, but I too want to keep my mind active and I love to learn things. Thanks for all the good ideas. I did get one of those gem kits for Christmas and now I am going to open it up! LOL! I can not wait to try out some of your ideas. Thank you again.
I play junes journey every day too. Yes same some scenes easier than others to connect your brain with. I only play at night before bed. I like the decorating part also
I'm so glad I found this video ... my son's 35 birthday is a few days away. I bought him a card but was still grasping for ideas for a gift .... the typical 'what to buy someone who has everything' ... well I hit pause after you talked about the murder mystery game and went to amazon and voila, it will be here tomorrow! Many thanks ;)
Leslie ty for teaching me of hobbies that are new to me. I’m doing flower letters, tea time magazine & diamond painting. Also ty to you in the comment section for inspiring more hobby ideas. I enjoy doing embroidery & latch/hook rugs, & word searches & bingo on my device.
OMG, I’ve listened to you for 30 seconds, and my mouth dropped open! First, I had just journaled “things are getting out of control.” I ALSO care for my hubs with advanced, last-stage dementia, and find that my time is spent watching movies on my iPad or scrolling! Can’t wait to listen and connect with you more. Thank you, Father, for directing me here.
Thank you for all these great hobby ideas! I'd like to try diamond painting, June's journey and True crime murder mysteries. Couple years ago I learned how to make Sudoku and I have always Sudoku with me.
I loved this video. I am so sorry that you are having to deal with your husbands early onset dementia. I can tell that you have plugged yourself into the Lord for your strength
I love all these ideas! It is so great to see how you are doing your "self-care". The pinterest idea reminds me of when I was a kid. My sisters and I made these "Life" books where we cut people and things out of magazines and created our dream lives out of pictures. It was so fun. I enjoy hiking but I haven't done it in years unfortunately. I feel like it was so much easier to get outside when my kids were little-a trip to the park or play ground usually made everyone's day better!
WOW I really love the content of this video. It's so important, as we mature, to try new things, even if we don't stick with them. I'm 72, and when I look at the people around me, I see many of them stagnating and losing their joy of living. Carpe diem, everyone!
I color a lot with my granddaughter but I have always kept books to color in. Good idea to color when you can. Those are detailed. Yea, it’s sad to think about the loss of cursive writing. Our children and grandchildren don’t even know how to write with beautiful cursive. So many have such a lovely handwriting and it’s so pretty and each is unique. ❤️
I lost my daughter unexpectedly and am trying to find myself and a purpose again. Thanks for the hobby ideas. I love the gems and coloring ideas
With chronic pain I’m able to use my electric bike to take in our God given nature & take unusual photos
Loved this! I'm 83, and taking my dog for a walk is the limit of my excercise. But I do stitchery and quilting to keep busy. And I can spend hours looking at art on pinterest.
What rock star unique ideas! Never seen anyone address new hobbies to embrace. Impressive, as always!❤️
I agree with Katie: I LOVE all of these unique “rock star” ideas!! I have been searching for something NEW to try, so I’m really excited now!! I think I’ll start with the devotional/coloring book!! My husband and I do the mini crosswords from the NY Times.
I love playing those too. My husband isn't into them but I love word games! Wordle, Waffle, Wordle hurdle , word searches... Love them!
And Octordle. :)
Ty Leslie for the super fun & interesting ideas! I want to try many of them & will share this video w/my neighbor who retired recently & she is looking for fun things to do.
I’ve really been into the Diamond painting. I’m doing nativity scenes that I plan on framing and giving as gifts for Christmas! It is relaxing!

The Bible study coloring book is a great idea! You can read the study then color while you meditate on it❤️

Cross stitching is my therapy☺️! So many amazing and creative designers - it’s a whole new world. I’m totally addicted!
@@gracefullstitcher4707 Who are some of these new designers?
I do stamped cross stitch. I found it during the great shut in and have done several pieces since then. Fewer options than counted cross stitch, but there are still hundreds and hundreds to choose from so I haven't felt limited yet.
Thanks Leslie very interesting
Great ideas for everyone . I love British mystery movies and detective programs . I make hand made cards to send to people and supply my older sister with stationary because she loves sending things the old fashion way . Her handwriting is beautiful and she’s 82 . In the summerI love my flower garden , it’s small and enclosed , so peaceful . I also sit outside in the warm months with a coffee or tea and the little kids in the neighbour hood come visit me .

I have a Fine Art Degree with Homs, I love a good‘’mindfulness “ colouring book, all cats. Everyone needs time out 😊
Lots of wonderful ideas, Leslie! So interesting. Thank you.
That’s awesome! I’m so happy she is enjoying them! I just love it myself also! So sofa d unique! Thank you so much for the prayers ❤️
I started working on Puzzles! Love them and sometimes forget about time and work on them for hours. 😂
These are such unique and fun ideas. Thanks for sharing.
A musical box that lights up!?
I love that idea!!
I forgot about the Pinterest idea.....I LOVE Pinterest!!!
Thank you for covering this! It is so frustrating as a care giver when those that are not around all the time make it a point of telling me that there isn't anything wrong with my husband and I have a problem and need to let up on him. They don't have a clue. God bless you both!
I love to knit! Taught myself from TH-cam a few years back. I also love to play the piano, watercolor paint, & golf!
Great video 😊
I bought a similar journal book for my mom who is in her 90's but she hasn't written anything in it, unfortunately. My hobbies are gardening and quilting.
This is why I love your channel!!
You always have fun and interesting things to share with us. I love writing letters, Scrapbooking, journaling, gardening, baking...a few more. I love tea too and your cup is so cute! I get a CS Farmhouse style mag. 😍 Thanks for these ideas! 🪻🐦🌷
I loved this vlog, Thank You for all the great ideas. I am a retired Registered Nurse and like to keep busy.
Love the hobbies. I have started on the gem painting. I watched someone the other day who loves magazines and she tears out the pages that mean something to her and places them in a clear sleeve and has a 3 ring binder with all of her ideas, recipes and pretty pictures. Enjoyed the video.
Lots of good ideas. 💡 And ideas on how to vary or expand upon. 👍🏻
I am so glad you made this video! I also play June's Journey for free. It has helped me with my memory so much. I was experiencing some brain issues after my husband passed. I know it may sound silly but it does help. I like all of your ideas that you shared. Thank you ❤️

Some great ideas…thank you….wishing you and your family a great day😘
So glad I saw this video. I am retired, in my 60’s, and frankly bored out of my mind lol. Thank you for all the great hobby ideas.
This was such a fun video! Good reminder to not get in a rut (like we all do!). Thank you for the inspiration ❤

I play June's Journey and love it. I use it to relax. I'm a caregiver for my special needs daughter who is an adult.
I am going to try the miniature book that is the church. Thank you so much for the suggestion.
June's Journey is awesome! I even created a ritual, i dim down the light to see better (i play it on the computer on facebook), i prepare something to drink and snack. Love it!
I’m addicted to puzzles. So fun but they’ll get the back seat to the garden soon.
Thank you! These are terrific ideas. I am zeroing in.

Thank You Leslie! I Love Gardening 💐💐
I love Diamond Dotz. My largest one I've done was 20 X 28 which has 50,480 diamonds on it.
What a fantastic video! I never knew most of the items mentioned even existed. Friends and family members came to mind that I could gift with a number of the products or would like to see these ideas presented as well. Thank you!
Thankyou the beginning phrase is so on point. Love you Leslie.
Enjoy your channel so much!! On your coloring devotional, color a little on each page when you read the devotion and move on to the next. Oh yes, I love the tea time magazine!
Thanks for sharing. Love your channel
The book nook craft looks like a diorama kit. How fun!
What a fun video.👏🏻❤️👏🏻❤️
I have been seeing ads for the letters! I’ve always wondered if they were as good as they claim!!❤
Thanks Leslie for sharing some great ideas. I just ordered the devotional coloring book. I think when you are a caregiver one needs something special that you can take time for yourself to enjoy. God Bless you.....

Thanks for showing up on TH-cam cause I don't do any other Facebook Instagram or anything like that
Leslie I loved this video! I’ve been thinking of a way I can get my mind off of work and life so much. I’ve been tempted on the flower letters several times I may just do that. I have several antique booths to keep up on so I don’t feel like decorating my home and outdoor space after working on those all the time. It was good to see you unwind a bit.
I love Junes Journey. Play it everyday for a few minutes. Never have paid a penny. I’m on Island #6, Marigold I’m currently 1100. So much fun.
Oh wowsers, my wife will love these. Thanks so much. Your totes my favorite.❤
You kill me 😂😂
Jason, you're nuts! 😂😂😂
Your fishing hobby totally makes you light up
@@candylaplante1486 oh yes! It makes me so happy!
This was wonderful! Thank you for the ideas.
Thanks
Love you and Jason thanks for your videos
This was a nice change in videos. Thank you for sharing!
🧵🪡 Quilting , crafting, gardening, cooking, Jazzercise -so nice to be able to enjoy what I love since I retired 1 1/2 yrs ago after working 35 years and raising a family.
New subscriber from England 🇬🇧👋
I liked this,it's always good to try new things. I have chronic pain,so hobbies to stimulate the mind are relaxing and a distraction. I do manage to get out into nature on my mobility scooter, which I love.
I love fishing, too! Cute ideas!
Leslie some really nice ideas to think about doing. I also like Pinterest for home decor ideas and different hair styles ideas.
I like the decorating part also
I too love fishing. Like you have fished with my family and now with my sons my entire life
I'm so glad I found this video ... my son's 35 birthday is a few days away. I bought him a card but was still grasping for ideas for a gift .... the typical 'what to buy someone who has everything' ... well I hit pause after you talked about the murder mystery game and went to amazon and voila, it will be here tomorrow! Many thanks ;)
Thank you for some new ideas 😊
Wow 🤩 thank you so much for these different ideas 💡
Watercolor painting 💗💗🌸💗
Leslie ty for teaching me of hobbies that are new to me. I’m doing flower letters, tea time magazine & diamond painting. Also ty to you in the comment section for inspiring more hobby ideas. I enjoy doing embroidery & latch/hook rugs, & word searches & bingo on my device.
Some great ideas. Thank you!
Love this video. Some great suggestions. Can't wait to try a few of these ideas.
Pinterest does stir my creativity. It's like window shopping for me...fun to see without spending a dime.
Great ideas to work our mind. Love love mysteries anything
Thank you for all these great hobby ideas! I'd like to try diamond painting, June's journey and True crime murder mysteries. Couple years ago I learned how to make Sudoku and I have always Sudoku with me.
This is absolutely fascinating! So original and inspiring. How I admire you😘
My hobby is gardening and forest foraging
Loved this video!!!! Good ideas,,, loved the Pinterest hobby
I loved this video. I am so sorry that you are having to deal with your husbands early onset dementia. I can tell that you have plugged yourself into the Lord for your strength
Love all your ideas. ❤️
Great ideas! You might like escape room sequential puzzles
I needed this video. I’ve been scrolling too much this winter. Thank you! ❤❤
