- This video is for 1992 to 1995 Ford F150, F250, and F350. Just in case you don't have the fuse diagram for your truck, or not sure which is which regarding the fuse(s) responsible for the odometer and/or the speedometer, this video quickly puts you on point.

You are a Godsend ! I had an opaque blue fuse which was hard to see in the dark ( interior light was out too) Once I was shown for sure which fuse to examine more closely; voila, things are as back to normal as they get with a 94 ford with 227k on it ! Thank You very much.
Perfect advice, thanks! I've had to repair a few Ford speedometers due to corrosion in the solder points behind the circuit board and expected a more complicated solution for my inop speedo and odometer. After seeing your video I checked all the fuses and found fuse #8 was blown. After replacing it...problem solved! Speedo & odometer work perfectly.

Thanks! KISS worked for me! I was imagining a transmission over haul...All I had was the "new" tinier 15 amp fuse, they fit nicely. BTW that 25 amp fuse upper left is listed as a 15 amp for my 94 f250 on the inside cover of the fuse cover. Thanks again.

God bless you for posting this, a 15 amp fuse saved me $ 2,300.00 for a transmission rebuild that it does not need and it fixed my speedometer .

My issue is my instrument cluster doesn't work including the fuel gauge but they odometer and speedometer both work is there a fuse for that?

Hi. What if my speedometer goes up and down as I'm driving? I've replaced the instrument cluster and the inner speed sensor and the outer speed sensor and my catalytic converter this week.but after paying all that money mechanics at two different shops can't figure it out. Hi, I have a problem with 2007 grand cherokee speedometer. The readings are barely visible. Sometimes it becomes a bit visible, where I can watch it while zooming, and most of the time, even thats not the case, though all the time, there is a dim light in that area. What could be the reason? My mechanic says replace the entire cluster.

Would pulling this fuse temp halt the odometer read... or will it confuse the computer and shifting too?
Because if this was a UHaul truck this would be a really bad thing to do, because they'd not get all that milage money, and that would just be wrong. :-)
(But hard shifting for a few hundred miles would suck too!)

I got the extended warranty for free when my '96 F-150 4 X 4 was brand new by removing number eighteen shortly after I drove the truck off the lot. The dealer noticed I wasn't putting much mileage on it when it came in for maintenance or warranty repairs but the fuse was kept in the glove box and was always replaced a few days before it had to go back in to the shop. ☺
BUT... when you replaced it , didn't it show the true miles ?
@@welcometoorefuge Not the actual miles accumulated while driving it. Only the miles racked up while the fuse was in.
My Speedo and rev counter and fuel level not working on my cluster but other lights come on could it be a fuse?

@@conquryourfear when I was at a red light I looked down noticed the speedometer and the odemeter wasn't working and it started shifting hard. I went to get a 15 amp fuse and tried started shifting smooth. I count my blessings everyday
I checked all my fuses and relays and replaced my speed sensor checked my wires and instrument cluster all is good it works when it wants to all I'm getting is lines going across it's an 04 lincoln town car. please help! Thank you very much!

Hello. I m having a problem with a 94 Mustang. The speedo quite. No8 fuse keeps blowing and I have the speedo completly out of the car and it still blows the fuse. What else does that fuse operate.

my 96 f150 4.9 in line. the odometer docent want to work. It is causing my transmission to kick real hard every gear I know that means it's effecting my speeds sensor.
I've checked all fuses, they are all good.
I've checked and changed the speed sensor.
what else could it possibly be ??

Change out the two fuses highlighted above anyway. Sometimes where they blow is not as easily spotted as the top of the "curve".
Where is this located on 05 tahoe?
Do you have apicture of the diagram. I blew a fuse and don't have the diagram?

My fuel gauge is not working, i have a full tank and it marks empty, is there a fuse to it before dropping the tank

Okay so I put a fuse in the number 8 and as soon as I start my truck and put it in reverse I got a buzzing noise as if my seat belt wasn't put on and the buzzing noise would not go off even with the truck turned off and the inside cab light was constantly on what's the problem there
That buzzer must be defective. Just unplug it
My 2003 F250 speedometer is stuck at 70 mph at all times except when I come to a stop it goes to zero!

Mine is pegged at 85 mph & don’t know why because it just happened at idle just now. The other gauges went bazzerk for 1 minute too. No bad fuses either & I disconnected the battery 4 approximately 30 minutes jumpering the + & - battery cables to clear PCM of any fault codes. Other gauges ok now but not the odometer.

I have one more question - why does 1995 w351 efi 75000 miles near overheat (arrow is near right green border) by outside city temperature 30 grade celsius (86 Fahrenheit ) with apropirate coolant level, non-leaking waterpump, replaced new THERMAL FAN CLUTCH, new temperature gauge, new rhrottle position sensor (idle was bad, now ok), new radiator cap?

the same 13 lbs cap (assemled in mexico) like old one, due to rockauto.com site

My truck sat for 2.5 months and when I came back home I noticed my speedometer and odometer wasn't working. Doesnt seem to shift any differently. Fuses arent blown so I'm not sure whats going on

steve bigler one of them used to shift like a freight train. I never did solve my odometer issues. I’m thinking the cluster is bad.
I have 2003 ford winstar i need to sleepin and save fuel, however i been told its a money pit so hesitant to buy it. Iknow the guy bought my truck from him. However the speedometer amd odometer dont work, rpms always do. Also abs and brake light always on as well as overdrive light flashing on amd off. Engine light on too
It can be cluster or speed shift sensor. None of the auto tools can read anything or they just are stupid telling me its an air flow sensor, explains why it spits and sputters sometimes. But has nothing to do with my issues with speedometer.

Pull the odometer out and check to see if your harness leading to the odometer is plugged in good. Other than that you may be looking at a broken odometer

I replaced number 8 and odometer came on and in a minute it blew and odometer quit working.
You may have a short, follow the cable/wires to the connector, clean and check for any cracked wires.
What if the odometer is working and speedometer is not ?
