  • @johnnyohness

Great video. Our 96 f150 5.0 speedo suddenly stopped working. Upon your advice, we looked at the #8 fuse. Someone long before we got the truck had swapped out the proper fuse and inserted a 30 amp fuse. Now replacing the fuse with the proper one it blows immediately upon starting the truck. We are at a complete loss of what could be shorting the proper fuse out over and over again. Do you have any suggestions? I can't afford to get ripped off for maybe hundreds of dollars by some shyster mechanic as it has happened to us so many times before. Would certainly appreciate your advice. Thanks

I've already replaced my instrument cluster and the inner speed sensor and the outer speed sensor as well the catalytic converter all in one week. No mechanic has been able to fix the mph from bouncing around as I'm driving. Any information where I should look online to find what fuse to look at?

    • @bluecollarred6912

It's most likely the gauge cluster, ESPECIALLY if you have the A4OD transmission. They're notorious for this problem. If your speedo and odometer blink off and then the truck starts shifting funny/hard that's the issue 90% of the time. Sometimes it can resolve itself for awhile by just hitting the reset and trip odometer button or giving the dash a good whack if nothing else works. I drove my truck for months like this until I got it fixed by changing gauge cluster
