    Hi mate, do you find the solution? I have the exact same things happening to my 1995 ford e150

      No, I traded the truck off before getting into it. I believe it to have been a broken and shorted overdrive wire in the column. check all wiring in the column as well as the clock spring and air bag module. The five amp fuse (red fuse) in the fuse box under the column is where mine kept blowing the fuse.

    I have the same problem going on with a 1994 F150 (4.9) Manual Transmission.... did you ever figure out what is going on?

      Could it be the "clock spring" It's in the #18 slot.................. 10 AMP

      @@kdeh21803 Thats fine. appreciate you stopping by. What I'll be trying next is cleaning if not replacing the idle air control valve,02 sensor and maybe the MAF sensor. For the cruise control and speedo i'm gonna change the clock spring and check the overdrive wire from the gear shift and all wires down the column. I did find it is blowing a fuse and thats where I'm basing doing all thats listed.

    Found the problem....it's a burnt up thermal fuse in the airbag module.... once module is unplugged fuse stops blowing..... Gotta order a thermal fuse off Amazon.

    • @oldpath7357
      @oldpath7357  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      where is the fuse?

    • @pivotmaster9556
      @pivotmaster9556 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@oldpath7357 dont just order the fuse, you gotta find the short circuit in the wiring harness first, fix it, then order the fuse and the variable resistor or replace the module with a non blown junkyard one. if you just replace it and plug it back in you will likely just blow the fuse and resistor again because the smoked fuse is the symptom of a problem, not the problem itself. It can also be caused when the bottom of the crash detector, of which you have two of on the front on the left and the right marked L and R, is rusted. If you dont mind not having the airbag, just leave the module out and change the 18 fuse again

      @oldpath7357  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I replaced the speed sensor in the transmission.....it didnt help. I have more symptoms now. Very low idle and the idle surges from a low idle to almost going dead.

      I have a short circuit in the steering column. prolly clock spring or OD wires in the shifter...

      @@oldpath7357 have you taken apart the instrument cluster? might be short or bad solder joint. I changed my airbag module to no avial, still 18 fuse blows

    • @pivotmaster9556

      nevermind, It actually was the airbag module. removed it and speedo and odo are back with no blown fuse. still tracking down high revs until i hit second gear hard, im thinking the throttle position sensor
