Thermal Exhaust Feedback is currently one of the best picks for Scout. 1. It has very strong maintained DPS when edging between 75% - 99% heat. 2. It provides ignition for praetorian gas clouds. 3. It provides fire spread for decent CC (Usually paired with pheromone abuse) 4. Many of the Scouts priority enemies are weak to fire. You can destroy a spitballer in a single burst from 0% - 90% heat, which takes roughly 2.5 seconds.
Someone should do like the floor is lava type thing with this. Only problem would be depositing stuff, but I guess you could allow standing on top of molly or something like that
34:28 Double barrel turns boomstick into ultimate crowd control weapon with its massive boost to shockwave damage and range, especially with T4 improved blast wave mod. Shreds through groups of grunts, and for everything bigger you have your primary
I don't even notice the ammo issues it has. You drop into a big group of enemies and then delete them. Switch to your primary then rinse and repeat. Amazing overclock I overlooked for a long time. I put it up with jumbo shells in effectiveness. Boomstick is just a good weapon, it's hard to go wrong.
As someone who frequently mains Shield Battery Booster, it deserves to be at least B tier. It reduces shield regeneration delay to 2s (1s with armour tier 1A mod which you should definitely take). This greatly increases survivability as you start to regen shield at any small window of opportunity which you can easily get by simply grappling away. And even if you take any damage, the Drak becomes a base weapon at worst. Your shield goes back to full in 3 seconds from any chip damage. This OC rewards players who are able to keep their shield full for as long as possible without overheating the weapon. Therefore it trains players to avoid taking any damage. I have become a better scout player as a result of this. Personally, I would rank the SBB as A tier. Its quirky features and high skill ceiling doesn’t get it into S tier, not to mention shield disruption missions
Bro you're underselling it. SBB is straight up the best DRAK overclock by far, and dwarfs who disagree just can't see the sheer utility this thing provides (I don't blame them). with an armor mod it actually gives less than a second recharge time - which is absolutely absurd. The fact that everyone focuses on that you have to maintain full shield always felt funny to me. Because this OC is the shield recharge first and foremost - the rest are just bonuses if you can maintain full shield. And it also has additional ammo and firerate at all times - which makes it some of the best defensive utility based OCs in the entire game. I can take absurd amounts of damage throughout the run, tanking every single grunt, literally covering my distracted teammates from attacks by just bodyblocking shit and still come almost untouched. If you get both Field Medic and Resupplier as perks - both reviving and resupplying can be possible in the most chaotic and unsalvageable situations, since you can always tank few hits + stun/deal damage on shield collapse = start recharging shield and be able to finish doing whatever you were doing. Sometimes I can play like an absolute idiot in Haz5 (fall damage, tanking, being a lure and c4 magnet) and still have the most health out of the whole team
@ Yeah I do agree I am underselling the SBB because I am arguing from an extremely conservative standpoint. And even despite that, it is an A tier OC to me. And TBH I agree with you on many levels. However this OC relies a lot on each player’s skill to get the most out of it. Any skilled player will agree this is the best drak OC, even trumping over TEF. TEF has higher damage than SBB and it’s an extremely easy OC to use, but loses all other utilities that the SBB provides which the scout desperately needs. Another point to add, I have almost not used any other drak OC simply because of what we both have shared about the SBB. It’s just toooo good (but I cannot expect everybody to share the same viewpoint as us)
@@Rohar_Tha_Dyou're overselling it. Yeah SBB is definitely overhated and is bordering on a strong Clean OC, conductive thermals and TeF literally exist and out of all classes needing to tank damage, scout is the least in need of that due to his mobility, and shield is basically useless on higher and especially modded difficulties. Yeah it's very little downside but the opportunity cost of SBB over his other primaries or just other overclocks I mentioned on the Drak is pretty high. Pretty decent OC but nowhere near the best.
Bodkin's have a hidden advantage from what I noticed. They can kill a bug, ricochet, and if the next enemy was behind a wall, they get stuck in the terrain and are still retrievable, even though you killed something with it. It helps with the ammo reserves more than I expected.
I truly love the combo of Rewiring mod on plasma carabine + Embedded Detonators on zhukov with movement speed on both weapons. Basically once you overheat with plasma carabine you switch to zhukov firing short bursts and reload for embedded detonators and to keep the constant movment speed bonus. It's insanely efficient in term of ammo consumption, the movspeed bonus is very good and I believe its the best combo in term of DPE.
23:20 plasma splash actually makes the debuff apply 2x faster since it applies 2 instances of the debuff, one for the direct and one for the splash, and also the splash does fire damage so it does buff its own damage after a bit This makes teammates' weapons that do electric, fire, or frost damage do more damage faster and earlier, but it also really helps phosphor shells boomstick, since phosphor shells turns half of the boomstick's damage to fire and adds a bunch of heat, so you can get jumbo shells to do some pretty insane amounts of damage 26:50 the shield regen buff is significant, especially with the shield regen delay reduction upgrade on the armor, it boosts your survivability significantly and makes it much easier to have full shield, as scout you can be very mobile and stay away from enemies, making ranged enemies the biggest threat, and the extra velocity and damage that it gives you can really help against those enemies and the shield regen helps survive even better Final thought, thermal exhaust feedback does more damage than overtuned particle accelerator does at high heat, and thermal exhaust feedback has much less downsides and lights enemies on fire, if you get good at it (which you probably should if you like drak) then it is insanely powerful
Electryfing focus shot was my first overclock, and is really good, the lower damage on focus shot doesn't affect much, cause the dot compensates the damage. It's almost a clean disguised as unstable
IMO Shield Battery Booster is the best OC for DRAK, DMG not as strong as Thermal Exhaust Feedback or Overtuned Particle Accelerator but: + It can only maintain +dmg and projectile speed at full shield but with Armor mod, the shield will generate near instantly after talking dmg (or overheats). And you're a Scout, you should be able to maintain full potently of SBB ~90% gameplay time with Pheromones/ Cryo. + With 200% projectile speed, the hit rate will be way higher than normal, so the dmg outcome will be more stable than TEF and OPA. (TEF need precise control, not as good when bugs are all around. And OPA is just a shortgun if range is futher than 15m). + Sustain fire power (TEF and OPA are too ammo thirsty, not enough to use in H5+). SBB has higher hit rate and ammo. + Sustain survival: with SBB buff, the shield regenation after talking dmg will be near instantly.
Preach brother. SBB is the absolute goat of Scout gaming. damage literally doesn't exist with this thing. Leeches can't even kill you - I once was hanging on the leech for over a minute waiting for my teammates LMAO
I do think shield battery booster deserves to be at least one tier higher if only for the reason that it makes your shield start regenerating faster. And it does have some bonuses that dont require your shield to be at max. It does feel weird to use though, so theres that. Double barrel i honestly feel is S tier. It's a karl's choice for me. Its the ultimate, unga bunga, braindead option for your secondary if you want to shut your brain off and still be very effective. It serves as a good panic button for deleting swarms close range. It tears down bigger targets. It can melt core stones phases in two, or three shots. Its the ranged version of taking an over sized sledgehammer to any problem you have. With this overclock, violence is not the answer. It is a question, and the answer is "Yes please."
I love using the shield battery booster, I think he did it so dirty putting it in the lowest without even elaborating how your shield can instantly start regenerating after taking damage, and being the count you can avoid damage easier than the other classes
I personally always run Hoverclock but Hipster S tier and EFS B tier seems pretty odd. Hipster is fine especially for mag dumping into big enemies but I don't find it fits Scout's niche in a team composition so well, and it importantly loses a lot of break points in ammo spent per kill. EFS on the other hand is practically a clean like Hoverclock, you just get extra damage to the point of actually improving your break points at the small cost of a slight delay to the damage.
I would definitely put Thermal Exhaust Feedback as scout's #1 overclock. It's a little tricky to manage, but once you get that down, the damage it can put out is awesome. After using it extensively, I don't see any reason to use any other scout primary, it's that good. I usually pair it with fire bolts to clear up mobs cause TEF is best used on high priority targets. Also, to make it much easier to use, get a crosshair heat mod. Makes the overclock 100x easier to use. Try to keep your heat as high as possible, cause more heat = more damage, up to +12 damage per shot at max heat.
You should try burst fire gk2 with 1-1-1-1-2 mod setup. It feels like the halo 2 battle rifle when built this way and I have burst fire practically glued on at this point. You should also try marked for death m1000 built with 2-1-2-2-1 and have gas recycling Zhuks built with 1-2-1-1-2. I also take serrated edge on my pickaxe whenever I play with marked for death since praetorians and oppressors are weak to melee. So you're able to delete praetorians and oppressors with a quick marked for death, serrated edge power attack and zhuk mag dump combo in under 3 seconds. It's super satisfying and I hope you try it!
9:40 actually the reduce mag size is a buff to the OC disguised as a debuff : you fire your 20 bullets into the horde/big target and the weapon reloads by itself , and enemies get the electrocute . And for single grunt just fire 2 or 3 bullet then press R and watch
Aggressive Venting is definitely my most favorite choice for Drak. It simply allows to be even more aggressive in combat, nit to mention its really fun to just jump into horde and smash R for manual overheating. Combining it with Cryo Mines can literally melt the large groups of glyphids
If you minimize the recharge time for your grappling hook, then you can actually pseudo fly and stay in the air infinitely after a little practice. Pair it with special powder too for some fun
Funny fact: I didn’t know what the “Conductive Thermals” overclock did, so I thought it buffed the ones I shoot. Soooo… I started randomly shooting my teammates when they got shocked, burned, and frozen. My dumbass didn’t understand why I got kicked from games.😅😅
Jumbo Shells is a personal favorite of mine. Fun fact: the ammo mods for the Boomstick provide the same increase of shells with or without Jumbo Shells equipped. In other words: they become inherently more valuable, countering the big ammo reduction and turning the OC into a straight damage buff.
Thermal exhaust feedback is probably the best OC for the plasma carbine. You just have to get used to bursting and you light things up. I run around with almost a thousand rounds and double barrel boomstick with pheromones. Amazing build, makes a lot of my other scout builds feel weak in comparison.
Overclocked Firing Mechanism should be highest tier... and Shield Battery Booster is really good if you are good at not getting hit. I agree about the Hoverclock and Special Powder they are awesome.
Seeing Thermal Exhaust Feedback land under Overtuned Particle Accelerator hurt, literally what you described for OPA also can apply to TEF, but TEF feels way less awkward to use. I can see arguments for using OPA for close range swarm shredding while your secondary picks up the slack for ranged kills like base Boltshark, Zhukovs, or Shaped Shells Boomstick, but OPA just feels way too clumsy to use especially with the fact that it overheats *even faster* than TEF which is incredibly annoying for me. Overtuned Particle Accelerator feels like R&D decided to smash the DRAK with a hammer and see if it still works. Pairing Thermal Exhaust Feedback (32112) + Fire Boomstick is genuinely a really fun fire loadout for Scout though, I highly recommend it.
Also I'm totally not biased cause Thermal Exhaust Feedback was one of the first few Overclocks I got my hands on when I wanted to play as scout more, especially with the DRAK.
Ai stability engine is my baby for sure. If im not using the m1000, that overclock assists with the scouts goal of taking out HVTs to a high degree. Spreaders, infectors, mactera, etc... go down so fast if I'm hitting my shots (which isnt hard with literally no recoil). The only down side to me is that you will go through ammo quickly on hordes of grunts and praerorians if youre not hitting their faces/weak spots. Highly recommend to those who haven't tried!

Also i hope you like being shocked because the electric drone things appear a lot on this dive. Anyways, good luck on the elite dive everyone. Rock and Stone.
For the deepcore, I agree with mostly everything you've said. I just think that the AI Stability OC is a bit too dull. This weapon feels so much better with the Overclocked Firing Mechanism OC. It's the upgrade the weapon was missing. As for the Burst fire I agree, I like it, but you can FEEL it's not performing well. It can maybe be worked on
Hipster makes me mad because I feel like surely with a name like Hipster its debuff would be to make you worse at doing focus shots specifically. Like I feel like I want an Unstable version of Hipster which just completely removes focus shots in exchange for getting more ammo, more fire rate, less recoil, and not losing all that damage.
Yea, like I can kinda appreciate what Hipster goes for but I feel like it doesn't lean into its niche hard enough to the point that it seems redundant. I'd rather just use my GK2 with the AI Stability Engine since they cover the same niche.
Some of these are soooo horrible, like, do you even use all of them? TEF in B and double barell below Jumbo shells? Why is electrocuting focus shots so low when it basically gives you extra damage and allows for some nasty combos? Embedded detonators not at the top of the list?
