      Ayashi Nightcore ~ Welcome to the channel! If you are new to the scene by all means check out my earliest videos on Goth Family Tree, this will share the branches of the Goth-fam and show maybe where you can direct your interests. Make up and fashion videos for men are few on TH-cam which drove me to say, hey, I can share my knowledge and I really do care for the younger baby bats out there- they are my inspiration to further share the subculture. Any thing you might want to know, just ask, I'm very willing share - and who knows, your question others would have as well, which would make a great video. Again welcome to the channel. 🎩

    This tutorial rises me from my grave.
    I'm sorry I did not comment the past few videos of yours. I did not miss one, and I did fell like commenting on them, but I did not have the time to. Work and family are becoming ever more taxing, time off sounds like an unwarranted luxury. 😢
    On December I made my face up for the first time. It was stressful: it tool me too long, I was in a hurry, did many mistakes and eventually rushed out of the door with a lot undone that I wanted to finish.
    But eventually I was glad: I was afraid at some point I would give up, rinse off my face and go to the disco with no makeup.
    I should have started with something more basic. But I still liked my first try.
    I did not have black lipstick though. I thought I would have used pencils and eyeliner for the lips, but did not have the time to do it.
    Still, it was a great way to start off the Winter Goth Season!
    You look great in your make up!
    I enjoyed this video lot, it's the only one that really cheered me up this week.
    Thank you, Professor M!

I am 51, and you can learn a lot about Goth here. There is only 40 years of history and it can be learned quickly. The second reason to welcome you is, you mentioned 'look' (that made me smile) I wonder, if you would like to try on a bit of Goth - and remember like I said at the end of the video, "When you put on the face, its like coming home"--I am always willing to answer any question you have about Goth, Goth life, Goth culture, -- ask away and I will surely answer. This is totally awesome! 🥰😁🦇👍 I love it. Yes, Professor M, you are correct. Black lipstick was coveted and pretty much non-existent to find even by 1989-92' to my recollection. My oldest sister had to melt down a black eyeliner pencil to apply it on her lips. She was Goth in 1990-92'. As for the pallor, I don't recall her doing that since she likely probably couldn't find any drug store that sold white foundation. By the time I started dressing Goth, I used to apply a hint of green correcting Maybelline stick on any red areas on my face, then stipple with "ivory" tone Maybelline stick, let it warm to the skin, blend, add some sunblock, apply some Manic Panic Goth cream foundation, powder off and then I'd do basic eyeshadow, and my lipstick was last for my routine. But you look fang-tastic all Goth-ed up and pale. 🦇🥰 Loved and enjoyed the makeup tutorial. 👍

      Yes, definitely please do more hair and makeup tutorials. Hopefully our other Goth brothers and sisters can lend their tips. Both hair and makeup would help the baby bats who might get bored of seeing the influencers, or get weighed down by too many look-alike Goth makeup tutorials on here. I know I got some helpful hints from your makeup application in this video. I thank you for those. 👍🙂
      I wanted to ask, is that Meron brand of white good makeup? Or, is it patchy and difficult to blend?
      I was wanting to order some, but I hold off since I don't know if it's like cheap Halloween white grease paint or good quality. And I couldn't find any reviews about it.
      As for hair, there used to be a website called, Diva Luxe. They went out of business in 2005, I believe. They got some mention in Gothic Beauty magazine, and they made fake hair falls using any color that one could imagine. They were incredibly well made. And there also used to be Anti-Sally's Gothic Rosaries. She's on LinkedIn, but she doesn't make anymore Rosaries. I used to buy those from her every month back in 2002-03'. She had a fabulous line of custom body wash and soaps with names like Crypt, dead roses, Graveyard Moss (was my favorite!). They had earth tones, fresh Mir, lavender infused. And it smelled nice! They lasted for a long time. I do miss that I no longer have any nor can I even find anything close to them anymore. Her name is AntiSally if you want to look for her.
      And lastly...
      Peter Murphy of bauhaus has truly inspired me for the 80's Goth style as of lately. And ironically, I found a long black silk lightweight duster that looks similar in style to the one he wore in 1992. If you search Peter Murphy on Dennis Miller show, my duster is like that in length and fit. One thing I haven't seen is how David Bowie also helped pave the way for future Goths, even though, yes he was glam and androgynous before it was socially acceptable. I drew a lot of makeup inspiration from that late great singer and Alice Cooper too. 🦇😎🧛‍♀️❤

    I have a bit of mixed feelings about this, because dysphoria, but that's on me.
    A few questions.
    1. What about primer? Imo, it could be beneficial even for those who don't have enormous pores, oily skin and an occasional breakout well past teenage years (I hate that side of my skin). It also helps to prevent caking.
    2. Have you tried contouring with other colours, like metallics? And places other than the nose? Pure white does look good on you, but I wonder how much difference would the sides of the face and the chin make if they were also contoured.

    • @gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222
      @gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Kaworu, excellent questions. I was originally going to use a primer like Lorel's pallid collection for fair skins, yet, I wanted to try the stick this time. At first, I was taken back because it was so so so white, and was like, "Is this gonna be OK?" And once, I saw that, my skin and the white fused, it felt good. I will try a Lorel fair skin tone primer next time. Good suggestion. Also, metallics are something I love. Silver, pewter or silver-gun-metal, yes, absolutely. If you ever find a really nice metallic that you like- please, send me a link to where you seen it and I may buy it. I will check online later to see what is out there. And lastly contouring, yes, more in my case is definitely needed.

Use both under the eyebrows(not to show the shaved or extra small hair if you don't have time to remove them)Then find a similar powder to the one used as your shadow also have fun making smokey eyes that way these last longer(you get a longer lasting effect so party for hours the night is young dear darklings!!!🕷🕸🦂)

    O, practical question: I see you wear glasses, and sometimes you don't. If you're would switch between glasses, no glasses and contacts, when would you put the contacts in? Start with contacts in? Put the contacts in after everything is finished? After the eyes are done?

    • @CameronPop4
      @CameronPop4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Always put contacts in before your makeup in case it makes your eyes water and take them out before you take the makeup off so that you don’t rub your eye makeup off and have them move around in your eye with too much pressure 👍

    • @gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222
      @gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Your question is very practical. And I will share- I have bifocal vision so close up I can't see without the glasses. And far away, I can see forever, I mean like a fly on a mountain faraway or even stars. During the tutorial I had to keep switching from close to far to close to far, and don't wear contacts yet. I would need bifocal contacts if they even make such a thing^^. If you were to put in say vampire contacts to change your look, that is the first thing to be done before the application of make up. Before the eyes are done.

      Zipzambam- Absolutely. There has been some incredible make-up application for black goths. Killstar had a few models a year back. There is one guy named Angel Nightmare- he did one video I love its here - th-cam.com/video/9zz3_n6E9IE/w-d-xo.html He's nice to listen too also- White eyeliner is powerful but takes skill to apply. Go much darker on the eyes and layer with white eyeliner. Your best triad color is red. Red eyeshadow is very powerful. Zip- I will tell you the truth the reason why I started my channel was because I was looking for the very thing I wanted to find on TH-cam and very little if any existed- I want to encourage you to make videos of yourself showing the community what you do- in makeup and fashion. As goth men, for every one of us on TH-cam, there are 9 girls making videos- you would be special never-the-less and open a doors for others like yourself who are looking for the same. Welcome to the channel 🎩

      @@Zipzambam Our first tries- our first videos are always bad- just record yourself- you'll make mistakes- but after like your 5th video it starts all falling into place- you feel confident and you work really hard to make it better and better each video. Just try - people will watch it regardless- and once you make it- watch it yourself and see your self and review it and then it clicks in your mind "aha" I know what I need to do in the next video.

    Great tutorial :) I can't do my waterline as my eyes are very sensitive and every time I try, my eyes just start watering quite a bit. Sorry I've been gone awhile and I know I need to leave a response or two on something you mentioned to me regarding one of your videos. I lost a dear pet recently and just haven't wanted to be on the net much. I'll go find your response shortly. Do you happen to have a Facebook account? I'd like to friend you if you do. Have a great spooky day ;)

      Hi. Yes waterline is very sensitive, so just do the outside. Sorry about loosing the pet. When I was a boy we lost two dogs that were with us forever, and that was hard. I was thinking of opening up a special Facebook account just for Professor M as most of the TH-camrs also have accounts. They have many accounts and many media sources. For myself right now only TH-cam and Instagram. You can find me on Instagram under gothically_yours_professor_m

      Lorel has an amazing line of foundations! Look at their makeup first. Easy to remove also. Go with a pale foundation first then, if it doesn't look right go up a shade.

    I got told that makeup is in fact NOT part of the subculture, only associated with it. I could be wrong but my sources are pretty good.

      Gamerchunk~, Hello! Makeup is most certainly a major part of the Goth subculture since its very beginning in 1976 after the post punk movement. Makeup has been an essential element to all Goth and its culture. For whom may have told you this, may have been ill-informed. Whilst Goth music is at the core, it is followed by fashion. Goth fashion and Goth Makeup are inseparable. Oh, and Gamerchunk, your ID name is very cool. Welcome to the channel. Prof. M.🎩

      @@gothicallyyoursprofessorm.7222 I see, well I either way I love it, but I believe my source at the time was Angela Benedict.
      So far my taste in music hasn't changed much since I found about all the gothic music genres and Ironically many years ago I had the same revelation that I simply dismissed because I somehow convinced myself that I was nothing but a metal head.
      But now Im older, mid 20's and I've had came to a realization that Im more multifaceted than a simple metal head; I loved more things than just metal.
      No indeed I had ignored a vital part of me; my elegance. When I did explore it, I came back to the same subculture; goth. Ironically this time I gave it a shot and I haven't felt better with myself since.
      Although, you wouldn't know I would be a goth unless I truly went the extra mile with my looks (which I do very rarely, perhaps once a month, since I'm extremely shy and it seems to be attracting looks)
