You should do a video on what you think could be the next Pokemon type that Game Freak adds in the future. Show why that would make sense as a type based on why the other 18 are types and what current Pokemon could change their typings to compensate for the new type like how Clefairy was normal and became a fairy type in gen 6
Ground type's weakness to: -Water: Water erodes soil -Grass: Trees grow on the ground -Ice: Frosts can make the ground into glaciers and useless for planting.

Well, it kind of would make sense with how he handled the possibility and logic of Phanpy being a normal type, instead of Ground type. Mostly it would be something that doesn´t have any special attributes to itself, and does...usual stuff. Diggersby would be an example of that too. Aside from using it´s ears to dig around, they don`t have any special attributes aside of that, and can live outside of the ground, and do other activities. It can be applied to the other Ground types of this video, but they have other particularities that wouldn´t allow them to be a Normal type. Also, Normal types by their movepool, we can see they are Pokémon able to adapt to their evironment in many cases. That´s the reason why Normal types have such a huge versatility of moves in their disposal. This theory is proven even more, when the moves Nature Power, Camouflage, Conversion & Conversion2 are Normal type moves; it shows how this Pokemon can adapt to their evironment to their respective needs. I don't really see how normal types would be that hard. Most normal types are normal just because... Well, they're normal. They're not as special as something like a dragon and can probably be seen in the real world, if not, something similar to it is seen in the real world. Edit: By real world, I meant common animals. I would love to see a dragon type episode, but instead of explaining the types, which are mostly self explanatory, find a mythological connection to each dragon type. Explain how each one relates to a "real" dragon.
Well, that would be repetitive for Garchomp and Flygon then; since it was explained in this video. Although none of them are actually based on actual dragons, but in monsters and living creatures respectively. Garchomp as explained, comes from the Land shark, or known as Bullette in the D&D games. Mostly this are literally that; creatures that are sharks that bury underground specting their prey and attack, and it´s also their normal evironment. Flygon is mostly the play of words of the "dragon flies", but it also has features of the mystical dessert creatures mentioned on the video. Dratini family is really easy, since they are based in Oriental and European mythological dragons. Dratini and Dragonair enter the first, where they don´t have limbs and they are just a serpent body, but they also have access to different types of "magic" (shown by their movepool, since Dragon types can learn many moves from almost all types). Dragonite is the European based dragon, and has the same properties as it´s pre evolutions, but they have limbs, and posses abilities to master any magic. Kingdra and Dragalge would be a play of words only by the creature they are based off; sea dragons. The only explanaition behind Mega Ampharos, it´s due to it´s japanese name being Denryu, which literally means "Electric Dragon". It is also further seen that it´s mostly based on Chinese dragons. Rayquaza and it´s Mega form are mostly based is on Japanese dragons, which have serpent bodies, but have 2 limbs as arms, with 3 fingers. This is also proven since most of the Japanese dragons are shown to be mostly on the air, contrary to other variants of dragons. It would also make sense by the Pokemon lore, since it´s the leader of the weather Trio, thus it´s his work to maintain balance in the weather that is available in the world. And the list goes on explaining each Dragon type, which isn´t complicated. Maybe for the ones that aren´t actual dragons, but they are more lizards, or something else (like Mega Sceptile, Noivern, Tyrantrum and Alolan Exeggutor).
Beast King I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure mega amphrados along with it's name is a dragon type cause it's a refference to the dragon who gaurded the golden fleece in greek mythology
Beast King Vibrava and Flygon are based on the adult antlion, which has wings. According to Bulbapedia, some antlion species are nicknamed "sand dragons," which is probably why they're ground/dragon type.
You know, in few years, you will have to do recap episodes on these when new pokemon come out. Or will you be explaining all the types with every new generation?
1:06 I was thinking the exact same thing, and we actually can go further: Rocks are made of minerals, and minerals are made from metals. Sand is basically smashed rocks, and ground, dirt, soil... is a mixture of rocks, sand, bacteria and organic material from bugs, plants and fungi. Where do you put the line between the types Plant, Bug, Ground, Rock and Steel?
7:51 - It would actually make a lot of sense. Compare it to armor concepts for humans: Hard plating where possible, and more flexible materials wherever not. Same for the Ryhorn line: Rigid stone armor where possible, and packed dirt and mud in spots where stones would otherwise impede movement.
Yes! Nice! Youve done both of my favorite types! Poison and ground. Thank you~ and this series is so wonderful. Thank you very much for your hard work on these. I really hope that you can keep going and cover all the types. And as for the next one. The 3 suggestions you showed us are good. If i had to pick one. Id say ghost. And i have a question. How are you gonna cover new pokemon from types that youve already done with? Would you just not bother cuz itd be to stressful to try to keep up with everything? Would you edit and update the videos that youve already done? Would would you make separate vid or vids for the newly added ones? Im sorry for asking such a ridiculous question. Its just im loving this so much and im genuinely curious. Apologies.
Ground is one of those types that suck if they are on your team but a huge pain in the ass if they are on your opponents team because it’s both weak to and strong against so many types and are useless against any of the types it’s good at.
(Talking about why Palpitoad and Semitoad are ground types) 'and using the large sacs on their bodies, they can cause ripple in the mud and *add plays with happy music* Me: *Writing the information down without looking up* So, like tympole, they can make music.
Pretty sure that small/agile animals are default normal, but big, bulky animals are default ground but idk - that might explain the rhino/elephant ones
Lockstin: If you want to roll at high-speeds like this you need to know how the ground tends to work very well Me: *so tires are earthbenders?* Also me: I KNEW SONIC COULD EARTHBEND!
Cubone and Marowak are Ground for a symbolic reason: Death. All living beings that are deceased decompose into the soil, they become one with the Earth. Cubone's evolution line (including Kangaskahn despite the fact it was censored) are based on the endless cycle of life and death. A concept known as The Circle of Life.
megagutsman Yes it is. It was later changed by Nintendo. They even changed it's typing to further distance it from the evolutionary line. This is literally proven by the fact that "M" has Marowak's cry and evolved into Kangaskahn. Cubone was eventually supposed to become a mother (Kangaskahn) who dies and the baby becomes another Cubone, that's the whole point of the evolutionary line. The mother dies and Cubone wears it's skull. Marowak already *has* a skull because it's evolution line is incomplete due to censorship. Cubone *literally calls Kangaskahn* in Sun&Moon rather than Marowak, because Kangaskahn is it's *actual* mother.
*+Queen Strong* *"This is literally proven by the fact that "M" has Marowak's cry and evolved into Kangaskahn."* That's BS. There are more than one type of MissingNo and all of them solely exist because of a programming mistake. You cannot use them to establish any kind of canon. *"Marowak already has a skull because it's evolution line is incomplete due to censorship."* Nope, Cubone's skull doesn't look at all like a Kangaskhan skull, for one is literally too small. It looks more like a Charizard or a Aerodactyl skull.
megagutsman But *the one that evolves into Kangaskahn specifically* has Marowak's cry. Are you an idiot or can you not piece together that this was leftover game data that was scrapped (though not removed). Thats what Gamefreak did during the Gameboy days because it was too difficult and time consuming for them to remove sections of code. It's called putting 2 and 2 together. As the skull evolves it would fit to Cubone's head as it isn't entirely a Kangaskahn yet. That isn't proof against anything that's just common sense. I actually can't believe that people are still this delusional to deny the obvious connection here. Not only was this nearly confirmed before Gen 7, it was literally confirmed during Gen 7 due to the fact that Cubone *call* Kangaskahn and not Marowak.
megagutsman Things get scrapped and/or changed around during development, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that Cubone and Kangaskahn are both related. What you're really doing is Autistically nitpicking even though the facts are stacked against you. Do you actually think that Gamefreak is going to *literally flat-out say* that the two are related when they themselves tried to scrap the connection and made the concious decision to divide then into separate pokemon? Use your brain.

You know, in few years, you will have to do recap episodes on these when new pokemon come out. Or will you be explaining all the types with every new generation?
Gnoggin, do every grass type Pokémon next please.😆😆😆🌱🌱🌱
NativeWalker Adrian hes done it already i think
Icewolfgamer Clash royale and more, He has not yet you might be confused by one of the other types he has done.
He already has the thumbnail soooooo
NativeWalker Adrian most likely xD
NativeWalker Adrian Do it for the gardening.
Whiscash is also based on the namazu which is a Japanese catfish which causes earthquakes
4:27 diglett. We don't see its body and we don't see Cubones face. I rest my case, your Honor
I just say we keep Grass and Bug as they are, fuse Rock and Ground into "Earth", and rename Steel to "Metal".
"Pokemon Pokenon O how you're diverse. From flappys with wingys, to groundies in the dirts" A true masterpiece.
10:31 he look so happy.
I wish rock & ground would be re-branded as "earth" type. Having them separate just seems tedious IMO.
IKR
I love ground and rock type. I like ground type more though because I love the desert.
This is why grass type is a thing
@@JeffV
What do you mean?
@@brandonprater4613 too much plant life
5:13 DOG TYPES ARE WEAK AGAINST BONE TYPES
Someone’s starting to sound like MatPat lol
Here again 'cause Lockstin said this video needs more love.
And it indeed deserves more love. ❤
Cubone and Marowak get their bones from the graveyards and they had to dig them out that may be a good reason for why they're ground type.
6:20 Gordon, watch out for those Trapinch on the way to Nova Prospekt!
This video made me realize that none of the slug/snail Pokémon are bug type isn’t that weird
Jeremy Wilson he does that joke a lot. Lol
Well, because they aren't bugs. They're mollusks
Professor Nichols neither are isopods, which is what golisopod is based off of
**X-Files theme plays**
True bugs belong to a specific order of insect, hemiptera.
I LOVE when you do these types of videos it’s crazy how much detail you go into man keep it up :)
9:34 Quagsire is So Derpy
Cubone is a nice example for the difference between rock and ground.
Psychic or Fighting?
Both?
he allready did fighting
He's asking which do u like more
nathan walton I see ground poison rock and steel in his play list where is the fighting type
Ice I was lied to.
I think Wooper is also based on the axolotl, which is an amphibious salamander
10:17 "IT'S AN ENENMY STAND!"
6:03 *-GOTTA GO FAST-*
(Talking about why Palpitoad and Semitoad are ground types) 'and using the large sacs on their bodies, they can cause ripple in the mud and *add plays with happy music*
Me: *Writing the information down without looking up* So, like tympole, they can make music.
11:09 "or even create an-" _advertisement_
Pokémon Pokémon oh how your diverse
From flappys with wingys
From groundies in the dirts
5:00 Or they just wanted those pokémon to get STAB on the moves created with them in mind.
Gnoggin: bUt HeY, tHaTs JuSt A gAmE tHeOrY.

8:34 Picture of a video that hasn’t been released yet. Foreshadowing
11:56 A FILM THEORY!!!
Pretty sure that small/agile animals are default normal, but big, bulky animals are default ground but idk - that might explain the rhino/elephant ones
"What? No! Cubone is bone type! Dogs have a weakness for bones!"
~Dorkly
Also barboach is based on a loach, not a catfish.
the dog at 9:21 is so cute
You have Pokemon from Savannah habitats but never a game based on one.
Lloyd Irving Afrofuturist Pokémon game when
Lockstin: If you want to roll at high-speeds like this you need to know how the ground tends to work very well
Me: *so tires are earthbenders?*
Also me: I KNEW SONIC COULD EARTHBEND!
Give us the ghostie boys next.
Yeah, he's doing ghost next.
“It’s really dumb I love it” 😂😂
Cubone and Marowak are Ground for a symbolic reason: Death.
All living beings that are deceased decompose into the soil, they become one with the Earth. Cubone's evolution line (including Kangaskahn despite the fact it was censored) are based on the endless cycle of life and death. A concept known as The Circle of Life.
Kangaskhan was never part of Cubone's evolutionary line, that's simply an old and outdated rumor.
megagutsman Yes it is.
*+Queen Strong* *"This is literally proven by the fact that "M" has Marowak's cry and evolved into Kangaskahn."*
That's BS. There are more than one type of MissingNo and all of them solely exist because of a programming mistake. You cannot use them to establish any kind of canon.
*"Marowak already has a skull because it's evolution line is incomplete due to censorship."*
Nope, Cubone's skull doesn't look at all like a Kangaskhan skull, for one is literally too small.
Use your brain.
perfect present for my birthday, love this kind of videos, keep the goodwork
Ok how do you pronounce Gligar Correctly but not Gliscor?
Zygarde is the most anime Pokémon and is basically a ground type voltron. All his cells and cores come together to make a giant fighting mecha version of Captain Planet
oh boy I love me some
*GROUNDIES IN THE DIRTS*
10:13 Swampert's stand looks gorgeous
sandstorm is rock type because sand is crumpled rock
BAM Easy
Phanpy and Donphan: Who are you guys?
Cufant and Copperajah: We are you, but steel type.
I'd love to see either Dark types or Electric types be done next.

Regigigas:A foolish miscalculation.

That’s one thicc land shark 👌 👌 👌
This series is one my favorites on your. Channel!! Keep it up thank you for giving us awesome videos.
"Bone type" .... Bones are found underground, ah ha! Fossils finally make sense! Oh, no wait all fossils are rock type... Not ground... What is the difference between rock and ground? I need answers
I have no idea
They should just fuse Rock and Ground into one type called "Earth". It's kinda stupid they haven't already.
Lockstin & Gnoggin: "I think I should leave poems to poets."
Also Lockstin & Gnoggin: *shows Edgar Allen Poe, who is mainly a short story writer*
Real question, how does nidoqueen dig burrows for it’s young??? Can’t it only breed as a nidorino?
*nidorina
PokeTheory #1: The breeding and digging causes Nidoran to rapidly level up and she bumps into a Moon stone along the way(probably because she was attracted to it).
PokeTheory #2: Motherhood, like friendship, brings out the true strength of pokemon!
Gnoggin actually already did a video on this. Nidorina and Nidoqueen are only unable to breed when in captivity, much like real-life female rhinos.
9:26 probably a koolasuchus or a limnoscelis or acanthostega

I am grateful for channels like this who break down origins of 🎮 but this took the cake! Much Respect!
What? I thought wooper was based on the Axolotl D:
it is, he messed up
This and the poke alchemy series (which i am counting the this is the end series with) are my favorite series you do and i love the new style. Long story short i just love the videos
