Loved the Fiddler on the Roof references, Fantake! 🌹 I would’ve graded the cast a B-. I agreed with all your points, but place more of the blame on production than on the cast members. (After all, who picked that many villains to start with?) There we’re so many good guys, I was able to sort of tune out the villains. I’d definitely rate Michelle’s season higher overall - maybe a B or even a B+. Of course, romance and having an intelligent, kind, decisive lead with a real job are the most important factors to me, so 🤷♀️ Production: I wish there were a grade lower than “F” to give them 🤯🤯🤯 Thanks for all your wonderful efforts this season, Fantake Chris! 🙌❤️😊🌹

I also agree with you Fantake. The season was good at times, but would be overwhelming at times with the villains. With production, 1 100% agree they always get an F for me. They always seemed to have Nayte as risky but I always say their connection stronger then they were leading on comparing to Brandon or even Joe. Even after the final rose and every article written about them, you see how much happier and better then seem together. Cast, I did like Rodney, Olu, Rick, Joe and even Brandon those names alone should have been considered for Bachelor. But choosing Clayton who had little to no screen time, we didn’t have nothing to root for him. Plus producers “spoiling” that Clayton was the next bachelor and seeing how his story came out was bad for Clayton. Yeah he seems like a nice guys but what else did we learn about him. For me I can grade similar to yours or even a little lower like C-. But production and cast were a major issue for me. Anyone else’s thought?
I LOVED her season. Do people prefer a Matt James season or what?! I don’t want manufactured drama. Michelle’s season was more like the old seasons than any other one in recent years.
I think people have gotten used to the Hannah Brown and pilot Pete type of dramatic seasons. Michelle’s season fits right in with the way the show used to be.
I don't think it was really that, it was more they just had bachelorette after bachelorrrette and for me personally I just wasn't in the mood to watch it bc I was drained.
I think clayton was set up to be hated. From disclosing he was the bachelor even before this season started therefore making everyone hiper focused on everything he did, choosing him without even showing much of him. (They didnt attempt to make him look great) People cant help to feel antagonistic towards his season.. Nothing surrounding him (bachelor whise) makes sense

Honestly after Katie’s train wreck of a season, Michelle’s was like a breath of fresh air. I welcomed the boring after weeks of the never ending witch hunting of the guys of Katie’s season. It was exhausting.
The biggest problem is that since we’ve had the bachelor constantly on our TVs for over a year and a half, the repetitive and scripted nature of the show is too plain to see. Viewers would be more excited to watch a seasons if we only had 1-2 seasons a year…also, the show has to get away from seeming so scripted. No more fighting dates or fake contestants. I’d rather just have “normal” group and one-on-one dates…like chatting at a coffee shop, walk in the park, movies…etc. I want to learn who people are and then have that one person I identify with and root for them. I want see intimate and romantic moments and believe I’m watching a real love story. I feel like that if there were more real, intimate moments between contestants, a higher percentage of contestants would be more vulnerable and emotionally invested in the lead and the experience, and therefore everything would “seem” realer than it does now. Also, I feel that the manufactured drama is for ratings, but if contestants were to be truly vulnerable, we would see true drama and jealousy.
The bachelor/bachelorette is not flavor of love/rock of love/daisy of love those shows main purpose and main drawl was to enterain and have drama and it wasn't pretending to be about finding love, if they weren't try to market it as real people finding love, it would be different but since they present it that way they shouldnt have these fake drama and cast insane people,
I happened to love Michelle's season, but they did Nayte wrong with such a negative edit. By the same token, if they hadn't cooled his edit down , the show would have become "The Story Of Michelle & Nayte" ..which would have been fine with me ..I've always loved those two together.🌹

I loved this season. Michelle was so lovely, grounded and well-spoken, that she had her own ideas and the ability to express and act on them. Her interactions didn't feel as scripted because she didn't need to fall back on the stock phrases that you hear every season ad nauseum. Thank you Michelle! So happy for the two of you.
True, and I was confused as to what the mood was supposed to be. Like it seemed like Kaitlyn and Clayton sort of were trying to laugh them off, but you could tell the mood of the room was a little more in shock…. Like uhhh SHOULD we be laughing or??… 😬

As somebody who skipped Michelle's season, its a result of a fatigue more than Michelle as a person. From Clare to Tayshia to Matt to Katie to Paradise to Michelle...it was just overkill. I feel like a lot of people needed a break.
I vastly preferred this season to Katie’s or Matt’s. Michelle was an ideal bachelorette. I love mess too sometimes but this was a comfy season. Hate that ratings suffered
I believe the low ratings were most likely due to having 3 Bachelorettes in a short period of time. I thought her season went very well! After the last how many Bachelor/ Bachelorette seasons that were awful
April Alexander the ratings will only go lower after the BLM 200k payoff. Was disgusting and plain BS when a down-payment in a state and town where real estate is way cheap is more than a down-payment. Nayte had to like it cause he strives for a payoff from inception. No question Michelle is a nice lady, but we got to see from some really great guys she chose the least desirable. It only will be reflected in the next Bachelorette whereby less people will watch. Without CHRIS HARRISON you'll never see a rekindling of viewers. The Bachelor is doomed and only Nayte made out well like he wanted. Yuk!

Michelle's Season was by far the better of the past 3 Bachelorettes, in all aspects, her Wardrobe was the very best and always fitting her Athletic body, she was the "Breath of Fresh Air" that the franchise had needed....and what I also admired about Michelle her language was always clean and not all of the Curse words like Tayshia n Katie always used, they were not very lady like...... MICHELLE you are a "class act" to follow my dear, Good Luck for You n Nayte...
I think she got low ratings bc of the train wrecks that proceeded hers… I actually didn’t watch bc of that, but watched the reviews instead. It looks like next season is back to being messy so I won’t watch that one either…

Brandon had the perfect set up to be the Bachelor. I don’t understand why he wasn’t cast as the Bachelor. My guess is he might have been offered the position but because of the fast turnaround he probably was still heartbroken and couldn’t get himself to do it. Probably all of the top 4 were heartbroken (minus Natye), which is why Clayton, who was more removed from Michelle, was ready to be the Bachelor since he wasn’t heartbroken. I really hope Brandon comes back to the franchise though!
I definitely think it was due to the timing of filming. Clayton wasn't at the MTA because his filming hadn't wrapped yet, it was a super quick turn around. But in the same coin, they set up Brandon so perfectly why not just wait a couple of months? There's been like 4 seasons back to back to back we don't need another one right now.
Unpopular opinion but I think Brendon is too much of a simp to be the bachelor, Joe is too shy/not open with his feelings and Rodney doesn't have the "dream man" look. And from what I've heard the show wanted to start a new page and they chose Clayton who they really liked off camera, said all the rights things such as wanting a family and marriage, and fits the bill of a handsome, mature, good nature man who 30 girls would "fight" over. Rodney would make a great bachelor but he doesn't have the same the same mass appeal as Clayton does. He's more of a get to know him kind of guy. At the end of the day it costs millions of dollars to produce and film these shows so they went the same route for this post pandemic(in the bachelor world) chapter.
Clayton was chosen to “get the show back to their roots” and choose a typical white lead. I honestly believe Clayton was cast to be the next Bachelor. Why was he even cast on the show, he’s not even Michelle’s type considering who she even fell for on the show.

You could tell that she carried herself with intention and it was evident that she was following her heart during every decision. She made the best choices through eliminations and the final four guys were all amazing. Sure it was less dramatic and messy, but it was real and didn’t feel like a waste of time
I think her season had a lot of genuine romance that I was actually really invested in and definitely was heart broken when each of the top 3 out of 4 guys were eliminated.
Well you know 3 would be loosers, bc at the end you can only pick 1 and so the best man won (which is the one her HEART felt the flutter n sparks for the most) and it was Nayte so now let us ALL stand behind them as for a very long time have never seen a mixed couple of color standing there, abd we need to admire that she felt connected to her color as well...
It’s nothing against Michelle. She was classy and true to herself throughout. I am just tired of the show. It’s so predictable and scripted. No one really replacing Harrison. That’s a train wreck. Claire was a train wreck. Matt was nice but boring. Peter was beyond dysfunctional…along with his mother. Another previous bachelor realized he was gay. Katie was a train wreck. Tayshia was classy and sweet. Not interested in watching Clayton either. The show has ran its course. We need a new show with a different format. Fantake was entertaining.
Michelle season was great. I really enjoyed watching her call it out as she sees it. She’s classy and she’s a no nonsense woman. Am so glad that she called out some of the guys in their BS. I personally would love to watch another season like Michelle season. She’s a woman that did had her head on in the game. That woman wasn’t playing she went on a mission to find Love and her mission was accomplished.
Michelle had the best lot of men ever on the show. They were all great guys with one or teo exceptions and you all know who they were, I loved getting to know her, she is a beautiful, grounded, and intellegent woman. Loved this season!
I think it was a very good season, refreshing to have true and realistic people. Michelle was a confident and healthy bachelorette. The low ratings were relative to the amount of season bachelor , bachelorette, bip. Everybody needs a break. Personally I think Katie season was too much. I didn't watch her season. Clearly, this was the season which could be deleted. They will go back to 1 bachelor, 1 bachelorette and BIP and it is a good thing. I think too that Rodney could be a good bachelor but we all know this is too much diversity for the franchise and with the low ratings in that season, they take a bachelor who look like the new host... I won't watch the next season, I need a an3ither break too but i will watch your recaps for sure 😎.
Michelle’s ability to be genuine and to connect made this my favorite season (and I’ve watched them all). I am not looking forward to the upcoming Bachelor season-feels like it will be a step backwards in the connection department.
… Am I the only one who rooted for Nayte? Like, from the very beginning, he was my pick, because I found him so chill and easygoing. Plus, his chemistry with Michelle was off the charts, and they always felt really natural together. I also really loved the moment where he confronted Chris S and called him a “dweeb.” Rodney, Rick, and Olu were all really great too, but since this show is about Michelle finding love, I had to root for the guy who she was obviously most attracted to. She deserves it! And while I’m at it, I didn’t get all the fanfare about Brandon. Granted, he was a sweetheart, but I honestly saw more red flags with him than with Nayte. While Nayte may have seemed too hesitant within the bizarro world of the show, his reservations (like not knowing if he wanted to move to Minnesota) would be considered perfectly reasonable in the real world. It seemed like people preferred Brandon because of how much he *gushed* about Michelle, but, to me, he came off as a bit clingy and overbearing at times (like his stunt at the rose ceremony). Nayte may not have been as forthright with his emotions, but quite frankly he’s only “closed off” by the ridiculous standards of this show. It was obvious that Michelle was the apple of his eye (sorry Rodney), so why does the fan base have to be so hard on him? Not everyone wears their heart on their sleeve, and you can’t expect people to change overnight just because you want to see “character development.” He’s a real person. I genuinely don’t understand why he was judged so harshly.
I agree with you totally. You could tell how emotionality invested Nayte was. As he went through the process of falling in love he had difficulty doing so publicly. Brandon was more in love with the idea. I am not sure if he gave any thought about ' long term' I was a bit concerned that after watching the show he felt it was important to ask Michelle what he did wrong and that he felt his love was overlooked. Signs of immaturity for me.
The ratings were low because…. the show lost it’s appeal with the overdose of content which is lowering the quality of the show. While I actually liked Katie’s season better than Michelle’s (shocker cause I still don’t care for Katie), the should have only had ONE Bachelorette this year instead of two. Two was overkill. Why was Katie even cast? The show usually has a good balance of romance, drama, fantasy, and good producing. The show, now, is lacking all of those aspects now to keep the viewers entertained. You need all aspects instead of heavy on one subject. The producing was so bad. They even edited Michelle’s personality to be dull, drab and lackluster. The group of men this season in general were not good candidates for marriage. Just a bunch of 20 something’s looking for a good time. Maybe 2 are ready to be a husband. They failed to even tell the love story between Nayte and Michelle. Honestly, the producers don’t know how to produce their own show anymore. The fake drama, mis-editing of their characters, the same group dates, it’s just wack now. They even air drama that have literally ruined peoples livelihood all for their poor ratings in the end. To answer the question, the ratings are low because people find it NOT INTERESTING. If it were, the show wouldn’t be slipping in ratings. There are more interesting shows to spend 2+ hours investing in nowdays.
We watched the show and really miss Chris Harrison!! The TWO girls are ridiculous the ones that tried to replace Chris Harrison, the show just isn't the same!!!!
Michelle is one of the best bachelorettes of all time for me. I love her as the bachelorette. I love her as a person. She’s someone that young women could look up to. And she’s goin going back to the classroom on January 3! It must have been such an exhausting school year for her, balancing full-time teaching and all the press obligations for her bachelorette role. Hope she and Nayte stay happy and always in love. ❤️
I agreed with the grades because production really impacted this season in not the best way because I am more about the romance and I definitely feel like that aspect was delivered and Michelle carried herself well but production did some very questionable decisions like their edits on cast like Nayte. Even though the villains did overpower the good cast I did find this season but mainly Michelle to be a breath of fresh air by having more romance and hope for the couple at the end. Great season recap Bachelor Fantake.
I've been saying Nayte got a mix of Bryan Absolo's too good to be true edit and Lauren Luyendyk's shallow and boring edit. But now that I'm thinking about it, most of the couples that are still together from the bachelor/ette got bad edits resulting in backlash about the couple getting together. 5 out the 8 relationships remaining if I remember correctly. Jojo + Jordan, Rachel + Bryan, Des + Chris, Jason + Molly, Arie + Lauren, and now Michelle and Nayte!!! *Obv Jason and Arie had other circumstances but still, Molly and Lauren received poor edits.
I thought it was a great season. I loved Michelle because she was so relatable and classy and I truly just wanted the best for her. I will say I didn't really enjoy the manufactured drama and would have liked to see more in regards to how she was making these strong connections. I could feel that she had a strong connection with Nayte that was more than just passion but unfortunately they didn't try to show that other side of their relationship. Same with Brandon. I personally didn't see a connection with him but there had to be something because she said she loved him. To me that just seemed random. I do hate how production misleads us in order to create a narrative. As much as I enjoyed arguing with people about how Nayte wasn't a f boi and he truly was into Michelle, I feel bad because I feel like their love story got tainted which is a ashame because they really do look like they have something special. But overall, I thought the cast was great once they got rid of the dead weight and Michelle was stunning (could have been even more stunning if they didn't f up her makeup) and I feel like I didn't waste my time because Nayte and Michelle's relationship looks very promising. overall grade B
Marina Middleton; I agree with you completely, and yes Nayte and Michelle truly had chemistry from he departed the Limo, and I am always angry how production does not focus on the "real true life story" that they see developing b4 their eyes...this Season truly had some fine guys, and I also think that production knows how long the taping is for and not necessarily that a person needs to be sent home nightly, but could cast LESS guys/Gals, and turn do a weekly send home, and then tge Lead could get to develop at least their final 4 in real confidence for home town dates and meeting families, and then getting to make a final choice of two, (and I think that when their is a final two the leads decision should be that b4 the FR ceremony comes up, they would have known who there choice is going to be, and send that one away b4 without having them get to the Podium and then bear rejection.... so I can remember many Seasons b4 being done like that and either way it is I am sure not easy to face, but at least not to go there and even start to talk.... As for Brandon, I just felt HE was trying too hard at love, but not truly falling in love, and his heartbreak is I am sure easier to get over. ..hopefully next relationship he gets into he will not try to even bore the person by every second saying and writing all the "I LOVE YOU" n "PUTTING HIS HEART ON A PLATTER" etc, bc I think he came across very insecure abd even fake at times....

The over romanticized words and the last minute love bombing before she made her decisions felt unintentionally manipulative and desperate. Even during the ATFR, it rubbed me wrong that he said "I miss your parents." It was almost like a silent reminder that your parents liked me better than Nayte. It just seemed childish. Michelle's season was very mature and intentional. She eliminated the guys who wanted to turn her chance at love into a spectacle. I really think her season is what this show is suppose to be about.

This season was an A to me at worse A minus. I loved it. She's smart funny loving adventurous. I don't need negative drama tv. Wish Rodney could be a bachelor instead of in bip. Now men tell all felt kinda fake
Ratings are based on the viewer's desire to watch the show. My guess is that people are tired of the manufactured drama and highly over-produced "reality" show. Add to that, the turmoil over the past year, and it is no wonder that the ratings are so low!
This is the only reality show franchise audience that complains about fatigue. You could have five episodes of the Kardashian’s each weekend; five continuous Housewives spots; 2-3 MAFS per year with an additional Couples cam and review show WEEKLY; and their fandom just watches. But make the cast diverse and NOW all of a sudden BN tired. Give me a break. Y’all ain’t slick. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Michelle is by far my most favorite bachelorette!!! She is so sweet ,down to earth, and pure hearted! Such a giving ,and comforting presence about her! Love her!!
Honestly, I think the reason this season had such low ratings was a direct result of Katie’s low-rated season on top of the fact Katie’s season was such a shit show and Katie handled it so poorly. Then, we have a low-key and mature Bachelorette who didn’t put up with any BS. I am glad Michelle found her person, I just think she is too good for this franchise
It feels like there has been a change in production management over the last few years, and not for the better 😬 Almost as if they are learning on the job.
Don’t blame Michelle for poor ratings. First the time slot was changed from Monday to Tuesday. Secondly it was during the holiday season when people are very busy. Also we’re getting so much Bachelor overload by back to back shows. No breathers in between. Also the host was changed. I miss Chris. Michelle did a good job.
EDIT: I wonder if Michelle's lower ratings were in part because of the recent controversies with Matt, Colton, and Katie. Like folks were just frustrated with the nonsense in real life Bachelor Nation and gave up watching the season. I give this season an A- My favorite season in a while. Michelle was great and seemingly genuine. The men were diverse and the fat was removed early enough. Production was contrived and annoying, and for now, Michelle and Nayte seem happy and I hope they do the distance. The biggest misstep was choosing Clayton for the Bachelor before the season even aired when Brandon or Rodney would have been PERFECT
This is top 3 seasons all time along with Sean Lowe and Rachel Lindsay. An entirely likeable top 4, a wonderful lead, and an actual love story. Screw the drama, this is what I’m here for. Sidenotes: - the bachelor choice is complete bullshit and 100% racially motivated. - I missed the first half of the men tell all, so I don’t understand the insanity that went down there.
I think picking Clayton shouldn't reflect Michelle or her season. Yes, we are all pissed. But I don't think that it should lower the grade of what I thought was a great season with a fantastic lead. I hope to see the rest of her final four in paradise. (Plus, we all hate the bachelor leads at the end of their seasons anyways so I wouldn't want to see Rodney, Joe, or Brandon, tainted by the producer's dramatic hands.)
Theory: bachelor producers are scared to show Clayton in a extremely good light or just a lot on him because they are scared to let people down as they have the last bachelors in the past. AKA Peter… if he has no image then he has no image to ruin. But Clayton shouldn’t be the bachelor!
i was really excited to see michelle as the lead, but ended up watching only the first few weeks of her season because it aired during a very busy time of the year. as a casual viewer and a busy student, it’s hard to make time for the bachelorette during november and december.
I liked Michelle’s season a lot and was looking forward to it since she was announced as the Bachelorette. I started watching this franchise since Arie’s season and all were trash except Michelle. I’m okay without excessive drama; I want to see the romance.
This was THE BEST season in my opinion. Any drama that happened was quickly and maturely shut down. The romance was great, Michelle was always so poised when addressing everything. I just wish Nayte had gotten a better edit at the end 😭 this season was such a breathe of fresh air compared to the last 5+ seasons
The editing for Nayte put a bad taste in my mouth. They did the same thing with Bryan and Rachel and it pissed me off then and it pisses me off now. Especially since Rachel and her husband are still together and solid and because of the producers and editing, they made them have immense backlash just like Michelle is having right now.

I think it is a result of the formulaic plotting of the shows' producers. For the last few seasons its been the same thing over and over and over again: "Who's here for the right reasons", villain roles out of thin air, social media hogs, bromances, "the most dramatic ever!!"...It's just getting old and uninspiring. I imagine that Clayton's season will be much the same. That's why my wife and I won't care to watch it.
I loved Michelle's season. My only problem was watching them try to make Nayte look so "Unready"!! And I happen to like Clayton..Having so little screen time on The Bachelorette probably made him appear too boring to become the Bachelor lead. As for me, seeing him in different interviews showed a totally different guy than the quiet guy I once thought he was. Oh the magic of editing. 🙄
Twitter during and after Peter’s season said they hated the drama… then we got Matt and Katie. Tayshia’s season was a bit odd due to the bubble. But, As much as people claimed they hated the drama… it’s what kept them tuned in. I think also loyal fans of the franchise have found the typical plot line and the production tips repetitive. Maybe it’s also because the cast got older and the leads more mentally mature ( not a bad thing, but there should be a balance) to keep the show more interesting. I think numbers come from the drama which has been lacking and the loyal viewers can sus things out due to the repetitive production tricks.

I absolutely loved Michelle as a lead! She was so freaking amazing and I just love that more mature aspect as a lead on the show, without all the horrific drama, it was drama but not the awful kind that makes you unable to look. Michelle seasons was the BEST season ever 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 she did a phenomenal job!! Props to her!! And yes they should’ve picked one of the top four for the next bachelor. Hopefully we will at least one of them be picked for the next bachelor.
Cant quite put my finger on it but it was pretty unengaging. Michelle was a great lead no doubt. Mayb the timng was just wrong. The back to back esp after katie honesly left a very sour taste . Clayton is even more ..... im off the show fr now.
I don’t know if it was too much of the show in general but I was just bored . I don’t care what color the lead was . I don’t like the drama like with queen Victoria she was so annoying. I think the show just changed .

Her season was my favorite that I’ve seen. I’m going to boycott Claytons season though and just watch your reviews of it. He seems like another pilot Pete and I just can’t watch that happen again.
I think this has been my favorite Bachelor/Bachelorette season since Hannah Alabama's season, with a better ending than Hannah Alabama's... I couldn't stop smiling after Michelle and Nayte came out together at the final rose and I hope all the best for them! I will be tuning into see Clayton's season.. if only because I live in Iceland and I'm curious to see how it will go down x) also I love bachelor in paradise and I want to know all the cast... and I have a feeling we will have some drama queens from Clayton's season next season in paradise
Boo!! I thought this was the best season ever. I loved Michelle, she was amazing at handling everything and went with her gut in the end instead of being swayed by others. She was a rockstar. We had some great cast because she effortlessly plucked out the bad eggs. I am saddened by the low rating.
Do we really need to see abc production after class? I feel like the early bachelor choice was a very clear attempt to get ahead of audience. That being said I was really loving the diverse cast for Michelle's season and hope it is not back to business as usual for the franchise.
I think Michelle was a great bachelorette. She seems like she took her position seriously and ACTUALLY wanted to leave with a real relationship. Shes mature and knows herself. After production stops pushing narratives, I end up not liking the leads after the show cause they get so messy and immature. So far I still like her which is so rare
Michelle has been my favorite lead so far out of the seasons I’ve watched (starting with Peter). She was so clear and decisive and eloquent - explaining herself, her motives, and her emotions so well. And such poise and grace! I wish her all the best.

I watch the Bachelor shows for the real relationships not the drama or the steamy scenes. I loved Michelle’s season and I have so much respect for her. I don’t know what grades that gives Michelle’s season. It is sad that the ratings were down, people missed seeing an amazing woman.
For this years bachelor I would have done what happened between Kaitlyn and Britt and make the cast choose who the lead is for this season. I would have Andrew S from Katie’s season and Rodney from Michelle’s season and at the end of night one we find out who the new bachelor is. On a side note , this is not Clayton fault at all. This is all on production.

I would’ve graded the cast a B-. I agreed with all your points, but place more of the blame on production than on the cast members. (After all, who picked that many villains to start with?) There we’re so many good guys, I was able to sort of tune out the villains.
I’d definitely rate Michelle’s season higher overall - maybe a B or even a B+. Of course, romance and having an intelligent, kind, decisive lead with a real job are the most important factors to me, so 🤷♀️
Production: I wish there were a grade lower than “F” to give them 🤯🤯🤯

I also agree with you Fantake. The season was good at times, but would be overwhelming at times with the villains. With production, 1 100% agree they always get an F for me. They always seemed to have Nayte as risky but I always say their connection stronger then they were leading on comparing to Brandon or even Joe. Even after the final rose and every article written about them, you see how much happier and better then seem together. Cast, I did like Rodney, Olu, Rick, Joe and even Brandon those names alone should have been considered for Bachelor. But choosing Clayton who had little to no screen time, we didn’t have nothing to root for him. Plus producers “spoiling” that Clayton was the next bachelor and seeing how his story came out was bad for Clayton. Yeah he seems like a nice guys but what else did we learn about him. For me I can grade similar to yours or even a little lower like C-. But production and cast were a major issue for me. Anyone else’s thought?

I think people have gotten used to the Hannah Brown and pilot Pete type of dramatic seasons. Michelle’s season fits right in with the way the show used to be.

I think clayton was set up to be hated. From disclosing he was the bachelor even before this season started therefore making everyone hiper focused on everything he did, choosing him without even showing much of him. (They didnt attempt to make him look great) People cant help to feel antagonistic towards his season..

Honestly after Katie’s train wreck of a season, Michelle’s was like a breath of fresh air. I welcomed the boring after weeks of the never ending witch hunting of the guys of Katie’s season. It was exhausting.
Katie’s men were nothing but a bunch of snitches like Aaron, Tre and James. And also Katie encouraged a lot of the snitching on her season.
At least I got to know people this season. Whereas with Katie’s season it was very much the Greg show and it was exhausting.

The biggest problem is that since we’ve had the bachelor constantly on our TVs for over a year and a half, the repetitive and scripted nature of the show is too plain to see. Viewers would be more excited to watch a seasons if we only had 1-2 seasons a year…also, the show has to get away from seeming so scripted. No more fighting dates or fake contestants. I’d rather just have “normal” group and one-on-one dates…like chatting at a coffee shop, walk in the park, movies…etc. I want to learn who people are and then have that one person I identify with and root for them. I want see intimate and romantic moments and believe I’m watching a real love story. I feel like that if there were more real, intimate moments between contestants, a higher percentage of contestants would be more vulnerable and emotionally invested in the lead and the experience, and therefore everything would “seem” realer than it does now. Also, I feel that the manufactured drama is for ratings, but if contestants were to be truly vulnerable, we would see true drama and jealousy.
The bachelor/bachelorette is not flavor of love/rock of love/daisy of love those shows main purpose and main drawl was to enterain and have drama and it wasn't pretending to be about finding love, if they weren't try to market it as real people finding love, it would be different but since they present it that way they shouldnt have these fake drama and cast insane people,

I loved this season. Michelle was so lovely, grounded and well-spoken, that she had her own ideas and the ability to express and act on them. Her interactions didn't feel as scripted because she didn't need to fall back on the stock phrases that you hear every season ad nauseum. Thank you Michelle! So happy for the two of you.

As somebody who skipped Michelle's season, its a result of a fatigue more than Michelle as a person. From Clare to Tayshia to Matt to Katie to Paradise to Michelle...it was just overkill. I feel like a lot of people needed a break.

I believe the low ratings were most likely due to having 3 Bachelorettes in a short period of time. I thought her season went very well! After the last how many Bachelor/ Bachelorette seasons that were awful
April Alexander the ratings will only go lower after the BLM 200k payoff. Was disgusting and plain BS when a down-payment in a state and town where real estate is way cheap is more than a down-payment. Nayte had to like it cause he strives for a payoff from inception. No question Michelle is a nice lady, but we got to see from some really great guys she chose the least desirable. It only will be reflected in the next Bachelorette whereby less people will watch. Without CHRIS HARRISON you'll never see a rekindling of viewers. The Bachelor is doomed and only Nayte made out well like he wanted. Yuk!

Michelle's Season was by far the better of the past 3 Bachelorettes, in all aspects, her Wardrobe was the very best and always fitting her Athletic body, she was the "Breath of Fresh Air" that the franchise had needed....and what I also admired about Michelle her language was always clean and not all of the Curse words like Tayshia n Katie always used, they were not very lady like......

Brandon had the perfect set up to be the Bachelor. I don’t understand why he wasn’t cast as the Bachelor. My guess is he might have been offered the position but because of the fast turnaround he probably was still heartbroken and couldn’t get himself to do it. Probably all of the top 4 were heartbroken (minus Natye), which is why Clayton, who was more removed from Michelle, was ready to be the Bachelor since he wasn’t heartbroken. I really hope Brandon comes back to the franchise though!
I definitely think it was due to the timing of filming. Clayton wasn't at the MTA because his filming hadn't wrapped yet, it was a super quick turn around. But in the same coin, they set up Brandon so perfectly why not just wait a couple of months? There's been like 4 seasons back to back to back we don't need another one right now.
Unpopular opinion but I think Brendon is too much of a simp to be the bachelor, Joe is too shy/not open with his feelings and Rodney doesn't have the "dream man" look. And from what I've heard the show wanted to start a new page and they chose Clayton who they really liked off camera, said all the rights things such as wanting a family and marriage, and fits the bill of a handsome, mature, good nature man who 30 girls would "fight" over. Rodney would make a great bachelor but he doesn't have the same the same mass appeal as Clayton does. He's more of a get to know him kind of guy. At the end of the day it costs millions of dollars to produce and film these shows so they went the same route for this post pandemic(in the bachelor world) chapter.
I wouldn’t give ABC that much credit… they could have gone with Joe or Rodney, and went with Clayton.
Clayton was chosen to “get the show back to their roots” and choose a typical white lead. I honestly believe Clayton was cast to be the next Bachelor. Why was he even cast on the show, he’s not even Michelle’s type considering who she even fell for on the show.

I actually preferred Michelle’s season over most if not all previous seasons. You could tell that she carried herself with intention and it was evident that she was following her heart during every decision. She made the best choices through eliminations and the final four guys were all amazing. Sure it was less dramatic and messy, but it was real and didn’t feel like a waste of time
I think her season had a lot of genuine romance that I was actually really invested in and definitely was heart broken when each of the top 3 out of 4 guys were eliminated.

Claire was a train wreck. Matt was nice but boring. Peter was beyond dysfunctional…along with his mother. Another previous bachelor realized he was gay. Katie was a train wreck. Tayshia was classy and sweet. Not interested in watching Clayton either. The show has ran its course. We need a new show with a different format. Fantake was entertaining.
Michelle season was great. I really enjoyed watching her call it out as she sees it. She’s classy and she’s a no nonsense woman. Am so glad that she called out some of the guys in their BS. I personally would love to watch another season like Michelle season. She’s a woman that did had her head on in the game. That woman wasn’t playing she went on a mission to find Love and her mission was accomplished.
Michelle had the best lot of men ever on the show. They were all great guys with one or teo exceptions and you all know who they were, I loved getting to know her, she is a beautiful, grounded, and intellegent woman. Loved this season!

I think it was a very good season, refreshing to have true and realistic people. Michelle was a confident and healthy bachelorette. The low ratings were relative to the amount of season bachelor , bachelorette, bip. Everybody needs a break. Personally I think Katie season was too much. I didn't watch her season. Clearly, this was the season which could be deleted. They will go back to 1 bachelor, 1 bachelorette and BIP and it is a good thing. I think too that Rodney could be a good bachelor but we all know this is too much diversity for the franchise and with the low ratings in that season, they take a bachelor who look like the new host... I won't watch the next season, I need a an3ither break too but i will watch your recaps for sure 😎.
Michelle’s ability to be genuine and to connect made this my favorite season (and I’ve watched them all). I am not looking forward to the upcoming Bachelor season-feels like it will be a step backwards in the connection department.

ABC, I will NEVR understand the pick of Clayton for Bachelor. It could have been Rodney or Brandon. Explain..
… Am I the only one who rooted for Nayte? Like, from the very beginning, he was my pick, because I found him so chill and easygoing. Plus, his chemistry with Michelle was off the charts, and they always felt really natural together. I also really loved the moment where he confronted Chris S and called him a “dweeb.” Rodney, Rick, and Olu were all really great too, but since this show is about Michelle finding love, I had to root for the guy who she was obviously most attracted to. She deserves it!
And while I’m at it, I didn’t get all the fanfare about Brandon. Granted, he was a sweetheart, but I honestly saw more red flags with him than with Nayte. While Nayte may have seemed too hesitant within the bizarro world of the show, his reservations (like not knowing if he wanted to move to Minnesota) would be considered perfectly reasonable in the real world. It seemed like people preferred Brandon because of how much he *gushed* about Michelle, but, to me, he came off as a bit clingy and overbearing at times (like his stunt at the rose ceremony). Nayte may not have been as forthright with his emotions, but quite frankly he’s only “closed off” by the ridiculous standards of this show. It was obvious that Michelle was the apple of his eye (sorry Rodney), so why does the fan base have to be so hard on him? Not everyone wears their heart on their sleeve, and you can’t expect people to change overnight just because you want to see “character development.” He’s a real person. I genuinely don’t understand why he was judged so harshly.
I agree with you totally. You could tell how emotionality invested Nayte was. As he went through the process of falling in love he had difficulty doing so publicly. Brandon was more in love with the idea. I am not sure if he gave any thought about ' long term' I was a bit concerned that after watching the show he felt it was important to ask Michelle what he did wrong and that he felt his love was overlooked. Signs of immaturity for me.
The ratings were low because…. the show lost it’s appeal with the overdose of content which is lowering the quality of the show. While I actually liked Katie’s season better than Michelle’s (shocker cause I still don’t care for Katie), the should have only had ONE Bachelorette this year instead of two. Two was overkill. Why was Katie even cast?
The show usually has a good balance of romance, drama, fantasy, and good producing. The show, now, is lacking all of those aspects now to keep the viewers entertained. You need all aspects instead of heavy on one subject.
The producing was so bad. They even edited Michelle’s personality to be dull, drab and lackluster. The group of men this season in general were not good candidates for marriage. Just a bunch of 20 something’s looking for a good time. Maybe 2 are ready to be a husband. They failed to even tell the love story between Nayte and Michelle.
Honestly, the producers don’t know how to produce their own show anymore. The fake drama, mis-editing of their characters, the same group dates, it’s just wack now. They even air drama that have literally ruined peoples livelihood all for their poor ratings in the end.
To answer the question, the ratings are low because people find it NOT INTERESTING. If it were, the show wouldn’t be slipping in ratings. There are more interesting shows to spend 2+ hours investing in nowdays.

Michelle is one of the best bachelorettes of all time for me. I love her as the bachelorette. I love her as a person. She’s someone that young women could look up to. And she’s goin going back to the classroom on January 3! It must have been such an exhausting school year for her, balancing full-time teaching and all the press obligations for her bachelorette role. Hope she and Nayte stay happy and always in love. ❤️
I agreed with the grades because production really impacted this season in not the best way because I am more about the romance and I definitely feel like that aspect was delivered and Michelle carried herself well but production did some very questionable decisions like their edits on cast like Nayte.
Even though the villains did overpower the good cast I did find this season but mainly Michelle to be a breath of fresh air by having more romance and hope for the couple at the end.

The production were absolutely terrible.
I've been saying Nayte got a mix of Bryan Absolo's too good to be true edit and Lauren Luyendyk's shallow and boring edit. But now that I'm thinking about it, most of the couples that are still together from the bachelor/ette got bad edits resulting in backlash about the couple getting together. 5 out the 8 relationships remaining if I remember correctly. Jojo + Jordan, Rachel + Bryan, Des + Chris, Jason + Molly, Arie + Lauren, and now Michelle and Nayte!!! *Obv Jason and Arie had other circumstances but still, Molly and Lauren received poor edits.
Add Sean and Catherine to the list, they are happily married with 3 children!
I thought it was a great season. I loved Michelle because she was so relatable and classy and I truly just wanted the best for her. I will say I didn't really enjoy the manufactured drama and would have liked to see more in regards to how she was making these strong connections. I could feel that she had a strong connection with Nayte that was more than just passion but unfortunately they didn't try to show that other side of their relationship. Same with Brandon. I personally didn't see a connection with him but there had to be something because she said she loved him. To me that just seemed random. I do hate how production misleads us in order to create a narrative. As much as I enjoyed arguing with people about how Nayte wasn't a f boi and he truly was into Michelle, I feel bad because I feel like their love story got tainted which is a ashame because they really do look like they have something special. But overall, I thought the cast was great once they got rid of the dead weight and Michelle was stunning (could have been even more stunning if they didn't f up her makeup) and I feel like I didn't waste my time because Nayte and Michelle's relationship looks very promising. overall grade B
Marina Middleton; I agree with you completely, and yes Nayte and Michelle truly had chemistry from he departed the Limo, and I am always angry how production does not focus on the "real true life story" that they see developing b4 their eyes...this Season truly had some fine guys, and I also think that production knows how long the taping is for and not necessarily that a person needs to be sent home nightly, but could cast LESS guys/Gals, and turn do a weekly send home, and then tge Lead could get to develop at least their final 4 in real confidence for home town dates and meeting families, and then getting to make a final choice of two, (and I think that when their is a final two the leads decision should be that b4 the FR ceremony comes up, they would have known who there choice is going to be, and send that one away b4 without having them get to the Podium and then bear rejection.... so I can remember many Seasons b4 being done like that and either way it is I am sure not easy to face, but at least not to go there and even start to talk....
As for Brandon, I just felt HE was trying too hard at love, but not truly falling in love, and his heartbreak is I am sure easier to get over. ..hopefully next relationship he gets into he will not try to even bore the person by every second saying and writing all the "I LOVE YOU" n "PUTTING HIS HEART ON A PLATTER" etc, bc I think he came across very insecure abd even fake at times....
Oh by the way bc the are 2 ppl of colour with tgd same family name up of color, and with Michelle's parents being such great roll models for a very long and lasting love, I am praying for Nayte n Michelle's journey to be the greatest love story of BN.....now Nayte PROVE all those HATERS WRONG, get moving to Minn and get your jobs sorted there and so that you n Michelle can get your wedding plans for a next Sumner Wedding, and then live a happy travelling romantic life together for about 2/3 years and get the babies coming....

@@GloriaLMSmith Its funny you say that about Brandon because I honestly didn't think Brandon was in love with Michelle. He was just in love with the idea of "love and marriage." The over romanticized words and the last minute love bombing before she made her decisions felt unintentionally manipulative and desperate. Even during the ATFR, it rubbed me wrong that he said "I miss your parents." It was almost like a silent reminder that your parents liked me better than Nayte. It just seemed childish. Everything I saw from Brandon felt toxic to me. I'm not saying he's a bad person, but I felt his immaturity in those moments

Michelle's season was very mature and intentional. She eliminated the guys who wanted to turn her chance at love into a spectacle. I really think her season is what this show is suppose to be about.
I felt really bad for Brandon, but she went with her heart. Nayte seem more smitten with michelle than when he was on the show. They seem so in love. They are really a gorgeous looking couple. I wish them all the best. It's nice to see their parents so excited as well is this the first time we have seen the show give out this amount for a down- payment on a house? I see you I love it!

Ratings are based on the viewer's desire to watch the show. My guess is that people are tired of the manufactured drama and highly over-produced "reality" show. Add to that, the turmoil over the past year, and it is no wonder that the ratings are so low!
This is the only reality show franchise audience that complains about fatigue. You could have five episodes of the Kardashian’s each weekend; five continuous Housewives spots; 2-3 MAFS per year with an additional Couples cam and review show WEEKLY; and their fandom just watches. But make the cast diverse and NOW all of a sudden BN tired. Give me a break. Y’all ain’t slick. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Michelle is by far my most favorite bachelorette!!! She is so sweet ,down to earth, and pure hearted! Such a giving ,and comforting presence about her! Love her!!

Honestly, I think the reason this season had such low ratings was a direct result of Katie’s low-rated season on top of the fact Katie’s season was such a shit show and Katie handled it so poorly. Then, we have a low-key and mature Bachelorette who didn’t put up with any BS. I am glad Michelle found her person, I just think she is too good for this franchise
The only complaint I have is the sound design. She had a great cast, drama that didn’t overwhelm, and a great romance.
How I know Nayte was it was for the sleep over party when she went right to Nayte and asked why he never pulled her aside that’s when I knew
It feels like there has been a change in production management over the last few years, and not for the better 😬 Almost as if they are learning on the job.
This was probably my favorite season of all time! I loved almost every minute of it. So refreshing after seasons of shallow drama.

Don’t blame Michelle for poor ratings. First the time slot was changed from Monday to Tuesday. Secondly it was during the holiday season when people are very busy. Also we’re getting so much Bachelor overload by back to back shows. No breathers in between. Also the host was changed. I miss Chris. Michelle did a good job.
I miss Chris too. Also miss him on BIP. Wells is a sweet guy but rather cringe as host.
EDIT: I wonder if Michelle's lower ratings were in part because of the recent controversies with Matt, Colton, and Katie. Like folks were just frustrated with the nonsense in real life Bachelor Nation and gave up watching the season.
I give this season an A-
My favorite season in a while. Michelle was great and seemingly genuine. The men were diverse and the fat was removed early enough. Production was contrived and annoying, and for now, Michelle and Nayte seem happy and I hope they do the distance. The biggest misstep was choosing Clayton for the Bachelor before the season even aired when Brandon or Rodney would have been PERFECT
This was my favorite season of the bachelorette thus far. I graded it an “A” loved it !

This is top 3 seasons all time along with Sean Lowe and Rachel Lindsay. An entirely likeable top 4, a wonderful lead, and an actual love story. Screw the drama, this is what I’m here for.

- I missed the first half of the men tell all, so I don’t understand the insanity that went down there.

I think picking Clayton shouldn't reflect Michelle or her season. Yes, we are all pissed. But I don't think that it should lower the grade of what I thought was a great season with a fantastic lead. I hope to see the rest of her final four in paradise. (Plus, we all hate the bachelor leads at the end of their seasons anyways so I wouldn't want to see Rodney, Joe, or Brandon, tainted by the producer's dramatic hands.)

Michelle’s season has its moments of cringe and recycled troupes but her top 4 were elite and she was a stellar lead.
Theory: bachelor producers are scared to show Clayton in a extremely good light or just a lot on him because they are scared to let people down as they have the last bachelors in the past. AKA Peter… if he has no image then he has no image to ruin. But Clayton shouldn’t be the bachelor!

i was really excited to see michelle as the lead, but ended up watching only the first few weeks of her season because it aired during a very busy time of the year. as a casual viewer and a busy student, it’s hard to make time for the bachelorette during november and december.
I liked Michelle’s season a lot and was looking forward to it since she was announced as the Bachelorette. I started watching this franchise since Arie’s season and all were trash except Michelle. I’m okay without excessive drama; I want to see the romance.
This was THE BEST season in my opinion. Any drama that happened was quickly and maturely shut down. The romance was great, Michelle was always so poised when addressing everything. I just wish Nayte had gotten a better edit at the end 😭 this season was such a breathe of fresh air compared to the last 5+ seasons
The editing for Nayte put a bad taste in my mouth. They did the same thing with Bryan and Rachel and it pissed me off then and it pisses me off now. Especially since Rachel and her husband are still together and solid and because of the producers and editing, they made them have immense backlash just like Michelle is having right now.
Omg the opening to this video with “Tradition” and the editing is the best thing I’ve ever seen 🤣 I just wish I wasn’t eating lunch while I watched it… PSA tomato soup hurts when you laugh and it comes out of your nose 😅
I think it is a result of the formulaic plotting of the shows' producers. For the last few seasons its been the same thing over and over and over again: "Who's here for the right reasons", villain roles out of thin air, social media hogs, bromances, "the most dramatic ever!!"...It's just getting old and uninspiring. I imagine that Clayton's season will be much the same. That's why my wife and I won't care to watch it.

I loved Michelle's season. My only problem was watching them try to make Nayte look so "Unready"!! And I happen to like Clayton..Having so little screen time on The Bachelorette probably made him appear too boring to become the Bachelor lead. As for me, seeing him in different interviews showed a totally different guy than the quiet guy I once thought he was. Oh the magic of editing. 🙄
Twitter during and after Peter’s season said they hated the drama… then we got Matt and Katie. Tayshia’s season was a bit odd due to the bubble. But, As much as people claimed they hated the drama… it’s what kept them tuned in. I think also loyal fans of the franchise have found the typical plot line and the production tips repetitive. Maybe it’s also because the cast got older and the leads more mentally mature ( not a bad thing, but there should be a balance) to keep the show more interesting.
I think numbers come from the drama which has been lacking and the loyal viewers can sus things out due to the repetitive production tricks.

I absolutely loved Michelle as a lead! She was so freaking amazing and I just love that more mature aspect as a lead on the show, without all the horrific drama, it was drama but not the awful kind that makes you unable to look. And there’s definitely nothing saying they can’t put one of the final four as a lead in the future for sure!

Cant quite put my finger on it but it was pretty unengaging. Michelle was a great lead no doubt. Mayb the timng was just wrong. The back to back esp after katie honesly left a very sour taste . Clayton is even more ..... im off the show fr now.

I think this has been my favorite Bachelor/Bachelorette season since Hannah Alabama's season, with a better ending than Hannah Alabama's... I couldn't stop smiling after Michelle and Nayte came out together at the final rose and I hope all the best for them! I will be tuning into see Clayton's season.. if only because I live in Iceland and I'm curious to see how it will go down x) also I love bachelor in paradise and I want to know all the cast... and I have a feeling we will have some drama queens from Clayton's season next season in paradise

Boo!! I thought this was the best season ever. I loved Michelle, she was amazing at handling everything and went with her gut in the end instead of being swayed by others. She was a rockstar. We had some great cast because she effortlessly plucked out the bad eggs. I am saddened by the low rating.
Do we really need to see abc production after class? I feel like the early bachelor choice was a very clear attempt to get ahead of audience. That being said I was really loving the diverse cast for Michelle's season and hope it is not back to business as usual for the franchise.

I think Michelle was a great bachelorette. She seems like she took her position seriously and ACTUALLY wanted to leave with a real relationship. Shes mature and knows herself. After production stops pushing narratives, I end up not liking the leads after the show cause they get so messy and immature. So far I still like her which is so rare

Michelle has been my favorite lead so far out of the seasons I’ve watched (starting with Peter). She was so clear and decisive and eloquent - explaining herself, her motives, and her emotions so well. And such poise and grace! I wish her all the best.

I watch the Bachelor shows for the real relationships not the drama or the steamy scenes. I loved Michelle’s season and I have so much respect for her. I don’t know what grades that gives Michelle’s season. It is sad that the ratings were down, people missed seeing an amazing woman.
For this years bachelor I would have done what happened between Kaitlyn and Britt and make the cast choose who the lead is for this season. I would have Andrew S from Katie’s season and Rodney from Michelle’s season and at the end of night one we find out who the new bachelor is. On a side note , this is not Clayton fault at all. This is all on production.
