    in my opinion, Clare was trying too hard to be “that” bachelorette who demands respect. she loved the praise she got after telling JP off, so she kept trying to recreate it during her whole season. it just seemed way over the top. like she sent a guy home for barely knowing who she is. that’s not “having respect” it’s being entitled. i just didn’t like her season one bit, and the majority of why is cuz she was just trying too hard to be a bachelorette that people would respect & love. i’m happy for her and Dale though

    Tayshia seems like a dream lead. She's receptive, positive, there for true love, and clearly willing to play ball a bit with the storylines and drama without sacrificing her integrity or throwing anyone too much under the bus or tolerating toxicity. The best drama on these shows is the kind that everyone can laugh about later (aka "smedium shirt" or Bennet being a Harvard D Bag) as opposed to the creepy Luke Ps or Chad's with dangerous psychologies.

    There are so many things- the age of the lead and contestants, the fact that the next Bachelor had already been announced so the men weren't vying for the role, the lack of exotic dates which led to more authentic dates which included more actual conversation and thus depth of relationship, and absolutely less petty drama and a true camaraderie and respect between the men are a few. But truly Tayshia deserves a ton of credit. She stepped into an odd situation and brought a maturity but also fun and engaging energy that made you actually root for her. She also was perceptive and in control of the process but seems to have done enough work to understand how to own a space while still leaning into her feminine energy. She was the lead and handled the situation so well while still leaning back, listening and allowing the men to decide whether they had feelings for her and to pursue her even in the context of this setting. Clare CHASING Dale after 2 seconds was just not entertaining at all to me.

    • @a.sydney5036
      @a.sydney5036 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Clare was set up to lose. You can’t have 26 year old dudes with a 40 year old bachelorette. Producers didn’t care about helping Clare find a husband. That wasn’t a goal.

    • @lowusua2416
      @lowusua2416 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@a.sydney5036 Absolutely to a certain extent. But there were a number of men over 30. She was just so laser focused literally from moment 1 on Dale that none of them had a chance. We didn't even get to see how great so many of them were until Tayshia arrived because they were secondary to her focus on Dale- like extras in her romantic film. That's okay. It was her journey and she was never going to end up with 26 year old Noah but men like Riley, Demar, Zac, and Joe and even Kenny who Zac has said is a great guy and someone he's really close with, were great guys as well.

    • @a.sydney5036
      @a.sydney5036 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lowusua2416 first of all “extras on a romantic movie” = 🤣. Secondly hmmmm, I don’t get this “omg, these guys are so great” narrative. We honestly hardly know these men. This is the first time I’ve watched every single episode of the bachelorette, and I don’t get how these guys are being hyped up. It’s so bizarre. Lastly. Even 30/31/32 is too young for an almost 40 year old...if we are being honest with ourselves about a younger guy dating an older woman. Who was in her actual age range...the boy band manager, Tayshia’s man and Bennett. That’s it. And 2 out of those 3👎🏿😩🙅🏿‍♀️...it’s all a tv show. And if we had the season play out...Clare realistically would not be getting married to any of those dudes (maybe Jason or Zac). Even Dale...he is not the father of her child. The pool of guys is so fundamental to the show.

    I think the aged up cast had a lot to do with the better convos, lack of forced drama, and us getting attached. These men had established jobs, knew what they wanted, went through real issues but had taken steps to better themselves. They were just so genuine, I adored them. I’m a bit bummed they didn’t send to continue this trend with Matt’s women’s ages, but at least they continued the diversity so that’s something. I will say while Tayshia’s listening skills did allow them to shine, I do feel like I don’t know her any better after this season which kind of bums me out. I’m happy for her, but I feel far more invested in the men than her. I do think editing Clare’s season to be as rough as possible truly set her up for a great season since she didn’t really do too much as a lead.

      I completely agree with you except from the statement that we didn't get to know Tayshia any better. Comparing how I see her in her season of the bachelorette vs how I remember her from Colton season, I think I got to know her to a deeper level. Tayshia is probably one of the most transparent people I've seen in reality tv, so it was a matter of giving her the necesary screen time to get to know about her.
      Maybe you feel that way because one has to put a little bit of effort to read between the lines of editing to understand her and knowing her a little bit moree.

Afterwards Zac said that she doesn't give herself enough credit. The reason those conversations could be held, was because of her and that she made them feel comfortable enough to share. Everything must’ve been real between them because there was nothing to hardly spark it up at all. I mean anything’s romantic on a boat ride through Venice italy! I do appreciate that Clare didn’t waste time going through the motions for weeks, and decided to run off with Dale, I just feel like she didn’t really “Bachelorette” or embody the role, if that makes sense. I don’t really feel like she gave the other men a realistic chance. We didn’t really get to know them at all. Tayshia was very open to getting to know all the men. Even her first impression Rosé selection did not stick like it does for a lot of Bachelorette leads. She could cancel rose ceremonies to get to know the men more and use that extra time to her advantage, and would send men home when she knew they weren’t the one. She would give men positive affirmations after group dates, even if they didn’t get the group date Rose. She was very respectful to the men. Love watching her love story.

    All people/personalities aside, for me a ‘problem’ with Clare’s part of the season is the same problem with a lot of romantic subplots in movies, tv shows, and books. Insta romance bordering on infatuation. Now, obviously the Bachelorette is somewhat real (or at the very least, not entirely scripted) so saying “Insta romance is bad writing” is a weird complaint, but honestly what it felt like to me. I felt the way I do watching 2 leads in a movie who barely know each other make out for... plot? Just my opinion

    I really did not find myself missing the travel this season. I loved a lot of the simple dates at La Quinta, likes Ivan's first one-on-one and Zac's photoshoot date. Going forward to when a bubble is no longer needed, I think I would prefer if maybe they only travelled for hometown's and then were in a fun destination for fantasy suites or something. I think having the simple dates allowed us to get to know the contestants EARLIER in the season, so I really felt like I knew them and could root for them by the time we got to final 4 and so on.

    What I liked in this season:
    - Honest and poignant conversations about delicate, but much-needed to be discussed, subjects.
    - A great cast (at least on Tayshia's part of the season) with several mature and well-rounded guys. The best since Rachel's season.
    - The genuine and gradually solid buildup of Tayshia and Zac's romance story.
    - The efforts of the production to pull out this season despite the tough times. I hardly missed the travelling parts and elaborate settings of previous seasons.
    What I didn't like in this season:
    - Clare being thrown under the bus only to uplift Tayshia's part of the season. (Even though you have to concede that Clare didn't do herself any favours.) I think Clare and Dale's story could have been portrayed much better instead of looking so messy.
    - Too much "now you're eliminated, now you're back on the rose ceremony" going on.
    - Yosef. There's no excusing him. Period.
    - Eazy still getting a positive-ish edit despite the serious accusations over him that the show somewhat overlooked.

    Tayshia was a great Bachelorette (one of the best in the whole franchise imo). She was fun, genuine, kind, empathic and showed care as well as respect to every single man on her season. That's why so many various men became so loved by the public. Also, she gave the men the space to be vulnerable and open up to her. And for someone (esp. a man) to be vulnerable they have to feel a sense of trust in the person and believe they care about them and wouldn't judge them which is the energy that Tayshia brought to those conversations, trust and acceptance. It's evident listening to so many of the guys say great things about Tayshia in podcast interviews, at the Men Tell All, IG, etc. how much they appreciated her. Even if they ultimately didn't have a romantic connection with her, they still respected and liked her as a person because of how well she treated all the guys.
    Also on another note, she's been one of the best dressed Bachelorette's ever. Her fashion choices were on point throughout the season, loved so many of her outfits!

    Poor Clare. People don’t notice little things like how many of her quips were frankenbyted and how so many of her scenes had no score (music) when they otherwise would have if they weren’t trying to hammer the “Clare bad” point home. Clare is, of course, not everyone’s cup of tea, but they gave her a very obvious villain edit so that we’d have maximum positive feelings about the switch.
    Also, Noah said Tayshia is a good listener, but that she very rarely divulged anything about herself. I loved what she brought out in the guys - amazing. But I left the season still not really knowing who Tayshia is. That’s the only area I’m disappointed about really.

    I will say this about the season overall, I think it really has set up both Bachelorettes for a successful life after the bubble so to speak given that the dates and experiences weren't over the top but rather mundane but in the best way possible. This was perfect for the mode we are all in currently.

    Both love stories were beautiful. I’m happy Claire found love and I’m glad she broke the rules.

    After Peter and Claire, Tayshia was so refreshing. Most of the guys were sweet, Tayshia was classy and we are all rooting for her and Zac.

    I agree with the vid and also the commenters saying that Tayshia, as a lead and person, is the reason this season felt more real and the conversations more important and candid. I also think it has a lot to do with the year itself. 2020 was honestly a really intense and serious year with a lot of us being forced to deal with our own problems in isolation, but also massive cultural problems like disease, police brutality, race, and the roll of the government. I wouldn't have guessed that a discussion of BLM would exist on the bachelorette but it feels like growth to see these issues discussed

    I don't watch the show. Fantake's delivery kept me listening !!! Love who ya love . Swirling , ok. The sister seem to arrive with game. Hey, my best. P.S Vet the potential grandparents . After all , are they comfortable with who you're being to dinner. Just keeping it real. 2021 ,lotta hate still. Now ya.ll show love.
