I personally think Hannah was not the right choice for the Bachelorette. It seemed like she was unsure of herself the entire time and the role was just too big for her. I still genuinely believe she would have picked Luke P if she had never had sex with Peter and the subsequent fight with Luke. The fact she kept Luke around to nearly the finals made it hard to “buy in” to the fact she was going to find true love

    • @lindseysperling4626

Bachelor Fantake I 100% agree with your scores. Even though Hannah made some poor decisions, her growth was astounding and production completely screwed her over by letting three men ruin the season. She did well given the situation

Hanna really was one of the best bachelorettes, she felt real, it wasn’t all a fairytale like the show tends to make it out to be. It felt uncomfortable at time because I felt like I was watching conversations I shouldn’t be, but like, in the best way. I’m proud of how far she came and I think she grew so much as a person and that’s really great to see. I’m not looking forward to Peters season, hopefully his cast make up for his lack of layers. We are to stay away from sleeping outside marriage, getting drunk, using Gods name in vain, and other things that we should stay away from. Hannah and many other people (including my old self) think you can ignore Gods commands and still be saved. We need to practice holiness. Instead of repenting she just says jesus still loves me and thinks she doesn't need to refrain from her sins. If you don't bother on repenting you are not truly saved.

But, no matter how small you make Jesus and God they do still love you.

Hannah was an oddball pick for Bachelorette, there's no denying that. And her run as the Bachelorette is pretty split, some people really loved her and some people weren't there for it, and I feel like that's a possible reason for them to have chosen Peter as the Bachelor, because he's a normal pick, there's not likely to be controversy over his season. Whereas Mike would have been an obviously different pick, and while the majority of people were in support of him as Bachelor, the first black Bachelor still would have been a unique and possibly divisive pick.

By the end of the season she was incredibly articulate and did not take any BS from anyone and did what she thought was best for her. An excellent example for young girls. Don’t get it twisted. Unless you know the lead or are really hoping the person as the lead is someone you have been attracted to in the Bachelor or Bachelorette and really want to take the chance they will be the one you want there is no reason to think you have a realistic chance of getting engaged to your one and only in these circumstances. Hannah gets a B+ from me: She cancelled too many cocktail parties and zeroed in on her guys way too soon, without even getting to know many of them. But, I love how she eventually figured out what she wanted and became more articulate. I think she was too young too. I got married at 21, but it just worked out that way - I wasn’t on some intense crusade to find my husband in my early 20s. Someone in their 30s would have more reason to want to settle down and have more wisdom and self knowledge to find the right person in this show. i actually don't understand, why they sent in "Queen" Demi to call out the first home-girlfriend in a ridiculous "top-secret-mission" . I guess their only intention was to present Demi, as she is kind of liked by a lot of people (not by me as i find her unreal and fake (my opinion)), not to call out a men's lies. But in the end they MUST have known about Jed and still didn't find a way to warn Hannah off (again), as precedent was already given.

I learned so much about myself and my relationships through watching Hannah's fumbles. I absolutely fell in love with her authenticity. I do wish she would have spent WAY less time making out with EVERY guy she hung out with and much MORE time asking compatibility questions, basic life questions and had really been digging out key qualities in the men. She only referenced wanting a Southern charming guy, a manly man, and someone who would love her unconditionally. In my opinion those are VERY unclear guidelines to base any relationship off of. Every relationship (outside parent/child ones) is and MUST BE conditional. They can't be shooting heroine and hiring hookers and you "love them unconditionally." What? No way. You can LOVE without conditions but you can't LIVE with anyone without some kind of moral guidelines. What does Manly mean? Charming people can be hiding a host of character flaws.
Someone needs to help that girl have wiser guideposts in choosing a man. How about honest, faithful, respectful, kind, thoughtful, equality based or a provider, supportive, uplifting, positive most of the time in attitude and outlook? Get her some help picking better men and having more important conversations about where they would live, what life would be like, what values they each hold and have in common, how they've handled disagreements in the past, how they will solve problems, whether they believe in win/win dynamics or win/lose power struggles?

I thought Hannah was a great lead. She was my pick from the start and she grew into the role. I have to say the Luke P. drama got pretty draggy after a while. Remember the episode that was just a clip show about that whole mess?

  • @paulojrneto
    @paulojrneto 4 ปีที่แล้ว +17

    My grade:
The Bachelorette - A / Like you said, this season was pretty much carried by Hannah's personal growth and how she found inner beast. But I can't give her an A+ because of her decisions, especially over Luke and Jed. Yes, keeping Luke for so long gave us the "Jesus still loves me" iconic moment, but I think I would rather have Luke booted off earlier than reaching that point.
The Men - B- / On one hand, there were big negatives like Luke, Jed and Cam. But on the other, there were strong positives like Tyler, Peter, Mike and even Connor. There was also an unique icon in JPJ, pot-stirrer in Garrett, a supposed-to-be villain-but-not-really in Luke S and plenty of guys we should have seen more of like Dylan and Dustin, and even Grant. The negatives had a huge dent in the category and there were plenty guys that deserved more attention but the positives even it out a bit.
The Production - C- / I have lots of issues with the Productions this year: the Jed situation (they either should've checked it better or not let it go that far), the Scott issue taking too much of night 1, the Luke drama stealing away both screen time from other guys and the possibility for Hannah to establish other connections, not safeguarding better Hannah's security around Luke, that makeshift recap episode...So many things could have been handled so much better. But for me the biggest issue was making Luke return after Hannah eliminated him in Greece: you could see Hannah was super umcomfortable and even fearing for her security and the whole thing was not far away from turning into physical altercation, and it took ages for Chris Harrison to finally step in and ask Luke to leave.
    Overall grade: B-

I feel that most all of what you say is on point. Personally, I wouldn’t give her an A+ because she is difficult to watch...as in she can be awkward... but mostly because she does not recognize these toxic/controlling personalities. But I think she grew a lot and kudos to her! She’s genuine. (I’d hate to be under the microscope like she is) I’d give her an A- (only bc were using +/- score) because an A+ is almost an unattainable perfect score, and an “A” kinda feels like over exaggerating her accomplishments while not recognizing her needs for improvement. I love watching your videos. Intelligent, eloquent, and to the point. Thank you! Ps thanks for sparing your subscribers multiple advertisements. You rock.

I was definitely skeptical of the kind of Bachelorette Hannah would be after watching her on Colton’s season, but the longer her season went on, the stronger my admiration for her grew. She was always well spoken when she stood up for herself and I feel bad that she had to do so too often, and even then, still didn’t end up with a good guy at the end of it. Her quirkiness and awkwardness also made her incredibly relatable, which I appreciated. It’s nice to be reminded that the people we all watch on TV are, in fact, also regular people.
I also agree that they need to pick better guys. The group of guys are only as the weakest contestant, and I wish our time could have been spent watching Hannah find love instead of watching Luke P. drama.

I agree with everything you said--everything--but I would give the overall grade of "C+," because the problems with the guys and the production of them wasn't JUST how bad they were and how much time was wasted, but that, for the majority of the show--called The Bachelorette--it was *really* The Luke P Show. And that? That is completely unacceptable. I wouldn't give Hannah an A+, either, though definitely a solid A. I wanted Caelyn to be The Bachelorette, but in 20/20 hindsight, I'm glad it was Hannah B. She's awesome. I look forward to seeing her in Paradise next year. She deserves her own Dylan, and I'd love to see her at a future TayPJ wedding on the beach in two years...

hannah is 1000000% my favorite bachelorette of all time. i think she allowed us *in* more than any other lead i can recall, and that i also think that's why she was so polarizing. we saw all of her mistakes so it gives people more ammunition to not like her, whereas with becca and jojo they were much more reserved and kept their cards close. so everyone likes them! we only saw them make minor mistakes. hannah was so raw that a lot of people don't like how unpolished she is, but i, personally, feel like she is me on tv. xoxo thanks 4 reading

I think the men get a D. I think the only few that were okay Conner, Peter, Mike, and Tyler. All the rest I would never try to set up with my girlfriends. They were awful. I think they might be the worst men in a season ever.
Hannah gets an A the plus is removed for her taking too much time with Luke. I understand falling for who she did since she did not have all the information. Her story was fun to watch overall.
The Production gets D-. They seemed as though they really did not vet the guys this season. Not only did most of the men's personality's suck, but they should have checked to see if they were single and if they were players recently. People do not want to see players or jerks with a nice person. I mean if you want to see that just go to your local bar. You do not have to watch a very long season just to see that. I like the show when nice people find lasting love. Also, the hour recap makes them get the minus.

Hannah Brown's season was the 1st I ever watched from The Bachelor/Bachelorette franchise, and I couldn't have IMAGINED that Hannah B. as a contestant was the polar opposite of her as the bachelorette! The way she conducted herself, handled nonsense on her season, and still came off so down-to-earth as a human-being is what got me invested in the show, which led me to think all seasons went that well or casted that well. That was crushed when I watched Peter in his season, but it really made me appreciate how Hannah B. was the cream of the crop when it came to leads.

I admit that I did not believe that Hannah Alabama would rank as well for me as Rachel did, but surprisingly she succeeded and very well. The spoiled, sheltered beauty queen really came alive to a strong and feisty maturity right before our eyes. I mean everyone grows after their season and social media does a number on them that I do not expect. But literally the growth and change in Hannah was like night and day. And at the end of DWTS, I can easily see her as a news reporter or a new darling lead for romantic comedy movies which we have not had for a long time of a leading lady. JMO

I have never watched the Bachelorette and have watched the Bachelor years ago but am not a follower. On Colton's season I stumbled onto the first date episode of Hannah Brown not being able to make a toast and was captivated by her absolute charm, adorableness, innocence and openness so unlike anyone else these shows have focused on. When Colton let her go and she left so did I. But, I became so invested in her finding happiness that when she became the bachelorette I was all in it for her and I am still following along to see if she can find her way back to Tyler Cameron where she belongs in my opinion.
I have never been so frustrated with the utter BS that was focused on and shut down the time that Hannah had to really get to know the guys that were there for her, Tyler in other words. I know things happen the way they should, but they also happened the way they shouldn't have regarding Jed. Had Hannah been given more time with these guys maybe she could have seen for herself that Jed was also doing a lot of getting in other people' s lanes and she could have really found some "clarity" on Tyler. I can only assume, which I am not above doing, that their relationship didn't end together because Hannah needs to do some examination of the types of men she chooses for herself and to see that she really does deserve the kind of stable, respectful, love that Tyler was offering her. I'd love them both to stop eating so many cookies, which is giving them both bad skin, and get into a healthy, loving relationship. I think they both would do so much better living a real down to earth, (Tyler being a contractor, Hannah doing something she loves), kind of life and making a family together. I love the vision Tyler had for them.

Good point about production. I feel like Chris should consider himself lucky that Hannah has no beef with him. If he is supposed to run such a tight ship, he failed. You cannot try and tell me he didn’t know that Jed had a girlfriend. If he didn’t know then Jed is a consummate liar. There does come a point that the drama is not captivating, it’s just hard to watch. Like the final 4 rose ceremony
