Found it at my local liquor store for 60 bucks!!!! Of course had to buy and I LOVEE IT. Taste notes to me were like a punch to the face with that rye spice and then super sweet rock candy
This video reminded me of the scene from Black Sheep when Chris Farley started falling down that hill, then continued falling and falling and falling and falling.
Last year Bernheim barrel proof, this year grain to glass. Maybe next year is Elijah Craig Rye Barrel Proof? I’ll probably give this a try if I can find it below 80. Cheers🎉
I’m curious to know if Heaven Hills “grain to glass” has anything to do with Heaven hill acquiring “FEW Distilleries” out of Michigan, which is grain to glass too.
IMHO people need to give these older companies a try towards their products with new things they come out with and don't just go off of others opinions towards it. Take a look at what happened with Bitcoin and look where it's at nowadays. I know a completely different comparison but you never know if you'll have a unicorn or impossible bottle to find down the line people are actually looking for or wanting because it was something new and you passed on it because of two people's opinions(whom may have different tendencies and like different flavor profiles than yourself etc) and you then gave up a good bottle because of their opinions. My opinion is $100 is not that bad towards a bottle especially nowadays towards bottles in the market in 2024. Give it a try and if you don't like it then it's no sweat off your back. A loss is a loss and will always be a loss no matter the subject you put your money into towards things. Loss in stockmarket, loss in realty towards housing, loss towards groceries with the high prices etc. $100 seems a lot but honestly when you think about it, it's not. $100 is a tip of the iceberg we all live in towards towards society in 2024. My point in the end basically, is how do you know you don't like it if you don't try it out for yourselves!?! Don't base things off of others opinions of things
I give big props to Heaven Hill for doing something totally different than what we'd be used to as far as rye releases go from this distillery. It's a real-man's rye for sure with a lot of welcomed sweetness....this review is a big miss for me, as it's just a bunch of random tasting notes with little backstory, scope, or depth.
Im not huge Heaven Hill fan in general, but i tried this in a flight and liked it. Very delicious and a lot of notes to take into mind, still not worth the msrp! @Swift-Pours
Appreciate that review. I love Pikesville, too.
I almost cut off the video with Dan’s opening statement.

Wow, the rare not-so-glowing review, including the rare perfect intro!
I appreciate your honesty. I heard similar things about this bottle-more hype and $$$ than being good. Thanks for confirming this being a hard pass!
Sean’s. “I quit”. AWSOME
Appreciate the honest review

I would buy all three regular release HH (ECBP, Larceny, Pikesville) over all of these.

I passed on it at Costco yesterday.
I get a herbacious, eucalyptus note on Bulleit 12, sounds like its of a similar vain
Dan & Sean, did you score the wheated bottle?
We have it, just haven't shot the review yet

From your notes on this it sounds like it would compare to the dark arts rye
Now onto the Wheated
I think it’s pretty good but wouldn’t pay over retail for it
Had the Bourbon and Rye at a bar in Hood River OR. Glad I did because the same result for me. C- Not for me.
This is the one that stuck out most of the three. Still pricey tho
Aaaand its only 700 ml right?
WOO HOO

I get dill vibes
I would gladly pay $17.95 for it.
I thought this tasted amazing.
I’m of that opinion as well. Unfortunately, most won’t get to experience now just because the Bourbon Junkies said no
I had my eye on this rye,
but now I know I won't buy.

Seans spell checking isnt working. Someone check on his sleep schedule
Just seeing if y'all are paying attention!
Short answer = no
Haven’t even watched yet, but this is such a disappointing bottle. For the same price, Old Overholt 10 year is SOOO much better.
