I just got a bottle and the neck pour was pretty impressive for the price point... and I hate Bakers and don't really care for KC9 or KC12. Oh, what fickle animals we are. 😅
Went to a four roses tasting with master distiller. He let us know. The small batch is mainly OESO. That is also why the OSO recipe is the hardest to find in single barrel store pics. Great value bottle for sure
Why no Buffalo Trace? I really wanted to see that scored but I definitely took notes on the top finishers! Thanks for that, i love blind tastings at get togethers.
Bought a bottle of 46 off this video, even though I don't really enjoy regular Maker's, and HOT DAMN it's quite good! In my personal rankings it sits right below 1910 and right above Woodford Double Oaked. Appreciate the rec!
I'm not big on makers either. I ended up mixing it with a rye, and i liked how that came out. plan to try a second wheated bourbon tjis weekend, so I will see if I jusy dislike wheat or not.
You should have made a simple x-y plot, where the x-axis is the price and the y-axis is the average score from you guys. That would allow you to easily select a point in the graph that constitutes the true best value.
Clearly I need to get the Maker's Mark and the Four Roses. I've had everything else on your list - except for the Jim Beam 7. Based on your review I might not rush out to get that one...

If you threw Eagle Rare (10), JD Single Barrel, and Buffalo Trace Kosher Rye Recipe into the mix, how do you all feel they'd sit? For context, the above bottles are all readily available at a similar price to Maker's 46 in the UK.
I haven't had eagle Rare in over a year. Only see it on allocation which happens 4 times a year and seeing less of it now. $37 out the door then. Nothing close to that kind of deal. Blantons was $20 more and not as good.
WT 101 will always be a legend, but it doesn’t thrill me like it used to. I’ve already bought a second bottle of the JB Black 7. What I’m really into lately is getting a 120+ proofer and adding a few drops of H2O after an initial taste and unpacking the flavors as it opens up. This has been especially fun with ECBP and the Woodford Masters. Cheers!
Surprised you spit out Jim Beam 7. It's been getting great reviews. I think it's a great bargain bourbon. Does having different ones back-to-back effect the taste buds as you go? Meaning, if it was sipped in a different order, you make have swallowed it instead of spitting it out, lol?
1792 small batch, Jim beam extra aged (tho they are replacing that with a 7 year old that isn’t as good.), regular four roses 80 proof, buffalo trace. Best budget bourbons your can get. Bonus pick mix a half shot of 1972 small batch with a half shot of buffalo trace.
Was just about the buy the 4R single barrel.. might have to grab the small batch instead now and I was getting Jim beam 7 envy lately since I can’t find it in the UK so absolutely loving your score! 😂 great video, cheers!
Curious on that Beam 7. Probably pick up a bottle at some point but curious what people think on how it compares to other Beam product. White label has been my go to cheap mixer and still is for 20 years. Back in the day, the beam black with the 8 year age statement was one of my favorites. When they switched black to the 5-7 year "extra aged" I didn't like it at all and preferred white label over it. curious where the 7 year hits. These days, the white label is still my go to for a mixer, but Buffalo Trace is my regular bottle.
Great video, Williams BIB and WT101 were my first bottle, the Williams is a good mixer, love the WT101. I like the Beam 7, OGD 114 is ok, love the Old Forester Signature, the Makers 46 and the Russell's 10
I agree with Sean on the OF 1910 being a better budget bottle than the 1920 and just the better bottle IMO. I am also a fan of the OF 100 proof signature bottle at $37.99 as opposed to the OF 1897 bib @ $54.99, hell you can buy a handle of 100 signature for just $4 more than the 1897. The Old Grand Dad 114 in my opinion is on a different level because it’s a cask strength bourbon at a bottom shelf price $26.99, I have 3 bottles sitting in waiting on the one that’s open! And I love the MM 46. 🥃Cheers!
I infer from some of your comments in videos that you are in the Midland, Bay City, Saginaw area. What bottle shops do you recommend the most in this area?
I hate Jim White Label but I love Jim Black 7 at the price. $43 for a 1.75?! Would I rather have KC9? Sure but that's $65 for a 1.75 around me. Also Makers 101 is good. I like every bottle in that lineup but they are definitely in the right order.
I literally purchased my FIRST bottle of OF 100 Orange label yesterday. It’s actually my first bottle of the entire OF lineup. It’s definitely worthy of the $27 I paid.
Maybe i need to do this! My daily go to bottles are usually 101, Bulliett Rye, Lost Monarch. Need to see blind how they are against others. Def want to get ahold of the 46 French. Havent seen in my area.
Glad to see OF100 getting some love. I know EW Bib gets a lot of love on many other reviews on other channels but I think it's worth the extra 8 dollars for the OF100
My years of watching the bourbon junkies always told me that they hated Russel’s reserve and loved redwood empire, Dan especially with the lost monarch. This whole video hurt my head
Interesting. I have a Russel's 10yr and it's probably the worst bottle I've ever bought. I've been so confused because a lot of people love it. Recently opened a Russel's Single Barrel and it is absolutely fantastic! Seems the 10 is hit or miss. I'd love to try a different bottle, but doubt I'll buy one.
I had a putrid bottle of Makers 46 CS but another from the same batch was great... sometimes I wonder exactly what happens in the process of bottling that can through just a few bottles from a batch.
@@markcalhoun8219 Same! I wonder if bad bottles were stored in direct sunlight or by a heat vent or something, I really don't know. It's very frustrating when it happens, though!

I'm surprised the Wild Turkey 101 didn't finish higher and I enjoy Russell's Reserve. I think the Old Grandad Bottled in Bond is better than the OGD 114 proof.

Surprised on the Jim. I picked one up last night and was delightfully surprised with it.
I gave sample to a guy and he liked it. He bought his own and said it tasted nothing like mine. I think they have consistency issues.
Agree.
I hated the neck pour of it but after a week open, I think it’s pretty good. Lots of butterscotch and a short but decent finish for the proof.

My value bottles , kc 12 and rare breed are both $48 here in NY
yeah $65 is the cheapest I've seen them in the midwest
Knob creek 12 is fantastic
WT101 today vs 3-5 years ago are miles different. I suspect the older stock that was going in the 101 is now being used for the new fancy releases
Blinds are brutal! This order has me all twisted up, a little mad, and very confused. I'm sad... but entertained! 👍🥃
I'm very glad to see that I'm not the only one who thinks the newer WT101 has not been the same quality.
So what happened to it? I agreed too. Something is different
I'm new to bourbon and the WT101 I bought did nothing for me at all. Seemed really "light".
it's the same. only the bottle changed
