    Good recommendation to replace the two little headlight wire harnesses!!
    After the wire insulation on the little wires gets brittle and breaks off, then the wires inside your headlight will to the same.
    Wish I had known that five years ago....

      @@admranger I love it - it had issues when I bought it (sagging head liner, parking break is sensitive), and it's still got some issues I need to address (windshield washer does not pump, emissions leak code) - but I've already put over 10K miles on it, and still say any day in the Porsche is a good day. With snow tires on 19" rims, it handles snow and ice like a champ, and the GTS power and sound in sport mode is amazing.

    Great video! I've got some suspension issue that I'm trying to diagnose. The rear sags... and I'm looking for the most affordable fix. I have a question about some warning lights. I have a set of 4 lights up front on the upper dash and a matching set I see when I look towards the back of the vehicle. They aren't always red and I can't seem to figure out when they turn on or why. I've searched and searched and can't find what they are indicating. Any help is appreciated.

    I was looking at the The Definitive Guide To First-Generation Porsche Cayenne Brakes (955 & 957) that's on FCP's site and there was no mention of the 2008's GTS and Turbo brakes being 368mm/358mm. These brakes are the largest that can be fit under 18" wheels (off roaders care) they are also the same brakes found on the R50 Touareg. Sorry I've geeked out on the 368mm brakes since I found a deal on the calipers to use on my q7. Also please add the EBC Yellow and Orange brake pads to your site Yellow EBC: DP41835R/DP41836R Orange EBC: ED91835/ED91836

    Good video. Do you like Brembo or do you prefer OEM? I think OEM has too much dust. 330MM for V6 Base for sure. It’s confusing at first since there are 4 variations of rotors.

    • @fcpeuro
      @fcpeuro  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      We prefer using Zimmerman Rotors, and if you don't like the amount of dust from the OEM pads we suggest either the ATE or Textar Ceramic Pads, both are available for the 330mm rotors! Do 955 and 957 Turbo and Turbo S vehicles use different calipers or just different caliper mounts? If one were to want to run 350mm rotors on a 955 Turbo S or 957 Turbo/TurboS in order to install 18in wheels for better off road tire options what would be required?

    • @randominternetuser2888
      @randominternetuser2888 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, same mounts for everything. Larger breaks need larger wheel clearance.
      It's common to put the larger breaks on previously base vehicles.

    I have 2005 Cayenne and replaced the wiring harness for my Xenon lights with all new replacement headlights and ballasts that are programmed. After 2 months, my Left low beam stopped working, while all other lights; signal, high beam are still working. If it's a connection issue with the harness, how can I properly ensure a tight connection after repeated attempts to slide and lock the whole light still does not correct the low beam issue? BTW, I replaced the bulb as well and it still did not fix the problem.

    • @fcpeuro
      @fcpeuro  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If the xenon bulb worked when the ballast and harness were first replaced, but after a period of time stopped working then either the connection could be loose, as stated, and should be checked, a part could have failed, or the issue could lie farther down the line in the electrical circuit which would require more in depth electrical diagnostics. A small audible click can usually be heard when making connections. I would begin by checking that the replaced parts are in good condition, installed properly and securely, and the wires and connections look clean and haven't been damaged or are corroded from water entry.

    Looking at picking up a 2006 Cayenne S vs a 2004 Cayenne Turbo. Is the benefits of the Turbo (engine, parking assist, and particularly air suspension) worth $5,000 more? It also has less miles, but I would say both cars are in near perfect condition.
