Why Are Used Porsche Cayennes So Cheap (2024 UPDATE)? Owner's Review of 17 Year Old Cayenne 955/957

2024 OWNER'S UPDATE on 2008 Porsche Cayenne Turbo. Used Porsche Cayennes depreciate significantly due to maintenance costs. In this video, I'll share all the issues my 2008 Porsche Cayenne Turbo has had.
List of all the issues:
-Parking brake dampener
-Coolant leak due to thermostat
-Replaced water pump
-Driver side DRL condensation
-High pressure fuel pump replaced - difficulty starting car
-Replaced door cable
-Drive shaft & support bearing replaced
-Left horn replaced
-Coolant leak again. Thermostat and water pump gasket were replaced
-Ignition coils
-Vacuum Pump replaced
-Thermostat Housing, Thermostat, and coolant replaced
-Passenger side mirror stopped returning to the correct position
-Driveshaft support replaced (with aftermarket design)
-Front control arms, strut top mounts, sway bar bushings, and droplinks
-Engine and transmission mounts replacement
-Coolant tank replacement and coolant pipe fitting pinning up
-Rear wheel bearings
-Water intrusion from drain ports
-Crankshaft position sensor
-Sagging headliner
-Leaky valve cover gaskets
-Broken sunglass holder

My 2010 GTS has been pretty darn rock solid reliable. Everything that has gone wrong I was able to pretty easily repair myself with a little wrenching know-how. Bought it used with 53k miles and now has 103k. Since then (5 years) I've replaced the coils and plugs, did the jimi-fix on the cardan shaft bearing, replaced leaking coolant vent line ($36 part) under the intake and did the starter at the same time. Had the coolant tank pop and ordered a new one for $60 and replaced. I drive it from Northern California to LA/San Diego all the time.

I bought a GTS of these as I had worries of any future Turbo issues (plus the Mrs drives hard, so less performance for her sake . lol). Man oh man, I love it. Put a Racechip Tuner, but struggling to find the paddle tuner. So far, have successfully taken it offroad, and had the ever so fulfilling gob smacked looks.

I’m in the market for a CPO Cayenne. I’m considering a 2021 Cayenne S or a 2023 Cayenne Base model. The 2023 Cayenne has more warranty than the 2021. Which is the better option in your opinion. This will be my first Porsche. Thank you 🙏🏽

Soft touch fix available through multiple vendors - decide if you want the soft touch feel or just hard coating when fixing.

Thanks for this inspired and informative video! Wow, that is a shocking number for the repairs, and doesn't speak well to Porsche build quality. That said, they are awesome cars. I have a 2013 Cayenne S, with you guessed it, a coolant leak. Ended up taking it to a shop where they diagnosed and fixed a leaking thermo housing gasket. Unfortunately it didn't stop there. There is also a head gasket leak, and I have yet to find out what the final price tag will be (discussion is one side or both gasket replacement or just swapping out for a used engine in case of warpage). As I am retired (fixed income) and living in a remote area, I am not sure how much longer I will keep this vehicle. A decision for another day.

It was through "The Warranty Group". They actually no longer offer coverage to Cayennes lol. I tried to renew and got denied.
