Sounds mint man !! One question, my 44mm tial external wastegate on my single turbo 2jz is «quiet». The ewg dump pipe is a short dump directly to the ground but I found it really quiet compare to other setups. What can I do to improve the sound of it ?
Man mine was done by exhaust shop, but it’s prolly 500mm long & goes in an S shape. It has to in order to clear the steering arm. It could also be the design of the gate etc. I have 45mm turbosmart. Screamer to atmosphere obviously
Well Supra is considered a supercar to some & they basically have the same engine 😂. I’ll have to give a borg Warner a go sometime. They sound pretty cool
Hey mate the car sounds great , what mufflers are you running ? And is it 3inch ? I’m running a 3 inch with a resonator plus a generic muffler at the back but I don’t seem to get the gargling/wraspy noise that you do
Hey man thanks, so it’s 3” mild steel, muffler in the middle (Magna flow) & one at the end (kakimoto). No resonator. It might also be my stainless GREDDY manifold for the turbo, but guys who have 6boost generally have decent sound.
nice sound !! first question .. what ECU do you run ?? second one.. why dont you just floor it i would like to hear that sound and not just gear changes :P
Ecu is Link Fury & I was still getting used to the car. I have some other vids where I drive it a bit faster, but I’m not keen on losing it & crashing. Or getting arrested for speeding.
@@imranz6454 it’s just sounds better. I had a HKS SSQV III but it couldn’t be adjusted. I’d prefer it dose as low boost & blow off at high pressure, but the HKS BOV wouldn’t do it. No BOV sounds excellent anyway & itsnt too harsh on a quality ball bearing turbo.
@@mestew87 45mm on GT3076r. The boost table the tuner had made was pretty lazy. I’ve spent time tuning it properly & setup closed loop. Have a look through the playlist, there’s later driving videos of it tuned better & running closed loop.
Time stamp? It definitely doesn’t. It has a 45mm gate & some guys run a 38mm gate with 3076r. It could be the wastegate solenoid manipulating the gate?
@@Fine_Performance from 29 seconds bro. those two lil pulls hmm interesting but yeah can def hear surging at full boost can u not? like that fluttering?
@@EthanBikeMediathat fluttering sound is the boost solenoid fluctuating to try achieve the target boost pressure, then I change gears closing the throttle body shut & the BOV screeches
@@Fine_Performance interesting. never heard of it causing premature compressor surge. all the cars ive seen and done the silular things ive never had this happen. algood tho hah was just curious
The wastegate is manipulated by the boost control to achieve the target boost as quick as possible, so yes it’ll open the gate slightly for a split second to help the turbo spool up faster. I’m also not an expert, but I believe that’s what’s happening. This is using open loop boost control, ie tell the control solenoid how much duty cycle it gets & it will make the boost. I’ve recently setup closed loop, where I’ve told the boost solenoid how much boost I want & it adds or subtracts duty cycle to achieve the boost. Closed loop can make boost as fast as possible & generally is more consistent. Ie it will make 14psi more consistently, open loop might only get to 13psi, or may overshoot to 15psi.
music to my ears
Checkout some of the other vids. I got the boost tuned properly on closed loop & got rid of the BOV. Does sound good though hey!
yup
Haha cheers

@@Fine_Performance what AR is the 3076 if you don’t mind me asking?
You seem to be suffering surge as the compressor is spooling up
It’s the wastegate/ solenoid fluctuating/ chattering to make the desired boost. It’s not compressor surge.
