- Still only 18psi max the car still hauls. After removing the BOV, I made an improved boost table over what the tuner left me with.
Now we make more boost sooner & it holds that boost instead of just maxing out straight away. Only using open loop with Link ecu, but this gives a us a better base to start implementing closed loop boost control in the future.

@@ollie786 the exhaust is just mild steel, 1 lukey muffler & Kakimoto tip. Elite exhaust & fab at Brendale in brisbane made the exhaust from a used one I bought. Headers are GREDDY SUS oldschool stainless. But cheers man, I hope you get good results.

Yeah, see the issue is that when I’m recording, I don’t have my Waze app open. So I don’t want to exceed the speed limit & go past a camera. Check through the playlist, there’s one during daytime you can hear better. But I’ll see what I can do!

is it overboosting? because in high rpm it sounds like its cutting up it happened in my 1jz
Nah, it basically can’t overboost as it’s on closed loop & I’ve spent a lot of time tuning it. You might hear the gate opening as it’s reached it’s target, or the wastegate is being manipulated to gain the boost target. It works off a table in the ecu, plus PID algorithm. Actually, this is before I implemented the closed loop boost. But if it’s sounds like it’s over boosting, it’s the solenoid & wastegate oscillating to try keep it at full boost, but not overboost. Check some of my later video runs, it probably sounds a lot more stable. But it’s never overboosted.

Running no bov won’t decrease the turbo life time?
It will, but I’ll upgrade the turbo before I kill it. It’s worse for journal bearing turbos I’m told than ball bearing. But it won’t just cause your turbo to blow to pieces (unless it’s cheap Chinese crap).
No BOV will wear out the turbo faster, But if with a BOV it lasts 5 years, No BOV it might last 4.5 years. Turbos wear out, quality ones wear out slower.

@@technology42069 some says that the og corsa extreme muffler (non valved) act like an amplifier, due to the conception of the muffler.
Since the valves are installed inside the muffler , i don’t know if the sound will bounce inside like the og. Maybe 🤷🏻♂️
