I was looking for a video like this one. I haul containers. After watching this video I realized I definitely need to raise my fifth wheel a little bit before buying a set of half fenders. I'd buy the black poly ones though, matches better with the color of my truck(cobalt blue)
I’ll 4 states in Joplin,Mo could help you in finding the solution. Taller risers for the 5th, cutting down the clearance between the tires and 1/2 fenders. Maybe drywall thicknesses instead of 2x’s. Looking at other flatbeds with 1/2’d on the same suspension you have. Where there’s a will,there’s a way.

The board spacer is supposedly yo make room for suspension travel for the rough terrain drivers since the stock suspension can go up so much.

Never to old to learn, as my Dad always said. Probably need at least a 6" to 10" riser to probably clear.
