Half fender install tips

This video shows some tips for installing half fenders on semi trucks. Theres many configurations out there that can create confusion on some "universal" kits. Hopefully this video helps you in your fender install. The only other bit of advice is to use lock-tite or nylock nuts in all places. Check to make sure they are staying tight each day for a couple weeks after your install. Happy trucking!

Would you be able to suggest what style blind brackets to use for the hogebuilt I found a couple on 32 chrome shop and some other companies but I don't know if they're any good they're kind of like the style you were mentioning that Bolton on the backside of the suspension hanger I guess they're called blind mount

I have the hogebuilt rear bracket and I'm constantly snapping the class 8 bolt that goes through the frame. Any suggestions? I've been considering either the merrit or trux brand bracket.

Sorry for late reply. I see that a lot when the bolt is working loose or the fender is being hit or touched by the trailer. Put lock tight on the bolt and make sure you have good clearances where you mounted your fender. DONT WELD THE BROKE MOUNT SOLID. I hate cutting those messes off and it usually is going to break at the weld you put on.

What kind of bracket I need for a Pete 579 ? The tube I had my original fenders on will make my hogebuilt fenders have a gap between fenders and tire so what kind of bracket do I need ?

I'm assuming you're talking about the front mounting post position? You'll either need to use a different hole further back, drill a new hole, or go with hogebuilt suspension specific brackets, or the Lelox by Merritt.

Did you remove any frame rivets?

No these front suspension specific mounts bolted up right with the spring hanger. The rear mounts went into one of the bolt holes for the 5th wheel mounts. If you take out frame rivets or "hucks" it's no big deal. Take a grinder with cut off wheel. Once you're about half way through you can hit it with a hammer and they break really easy and fall right out.
