I gotta say when I found your channel and saw how easy you made it to install all these setups a whole WORLD OF RETRO GOODNESS OPENED UP FOR ME. I HOPE YOU KEEP MAKING THESE VIDEOS FOR YEARS TO COME.
Seriously I really do value and appreciate what you do because there are a lot of people that grew up and love retro games but just don't know or even realize how AMAZING and pretty simple emulation is now. We have to keep the retro goodness going. Thanks again for all you do.🙏
This is a life changer. Having my Roms along with the Games from steam and Ubisoft connect in one list feels really nice and I don't have to open multiple launches. Really appreciate the guide. Keep it up man
The last few times I've searched for emulation related things, you've been there to save the day. Thank you for the high quality, straightforward tutorials!
This is a life changer for PC gaming, I need to spread this with my friends This really can give us the last piece of PC gaming, a UI experience that can give us some nostalgia
been watching your setup videos since your very 1st Yuzu emulator setup. and because of your channel, I was FINALLY able to find a working dreamcast emulator! great video man!
This is going to save me so much money because sometimes I realize I just purchased a game on Steam that I already had on some other platform like Ubisoft or something. Thank you so much!
I like that first look 0:17 i use, figured i want the pic to be stretch the background pic i mean so that it will also shown with the game list on the side. I know u might say that it shows, yes but not aligned properly for that u must do some setup further then in this video, but no big deal u can find the solution for this if u dig a bit around playinite forums. So i searched found the solution, did that and its fantastic i think. Also u can disable those lines on the list and feels like its one solid page. But i like the big box art style too so i used that one too at first, but somehow i like it more the first way. List style is like no, i hate it. And that big picture well, i dont see the point. Maybe for those who play games on PC ona big TV or seomthign and want to feel like its a gaming console or something. U can activate start up with windows after all, so it might boot straight into that mode, after the innitial windows booted. If i go the big picture mode route i certainly would use it like this. But im not so i wont :). Great setup guide video. The important things are there. Playnite is great. I think.
appreciate it my brother, you make things so easy even for a dummy like me. You should change the channel name to "games for dummies" like the books lol
awesome info which i never knew about casualgamer!! you are a gem not just in your area of expertise, but in the youtube community as a whole, i always wish you more success with your channel! :)
For PS3 roms, if they're not all importing you need to point to the dev_hdd0 inside of the RPCS3 folder to pull in your PKG files. In order for this to work you must have already installed the PKG file in the RPCS3 frontend. On my first import - pointing to just my PS3 roms folder - playnite only recognized 8 games. Once I pointed to the dev_hdd0 folder it recognized the rest. Hope this helps if anyone else has issues.
Could have expanded and showed how to set up a living room console-style gaming PC. I recently put together a PC from leftover parts and I'm looking to have it set up so that it boots to this type of manager directly from power up. No keyboard involved, just pick up the controller and power on. Steam Big Picture works well, but doesn't display non-steam games like the desktop view. Playnite seems to struggle exiting games back to the launcher, the window loses focus even if it was full-screen... Maybe it would work if launched as a shell...
Man this is awesome. I hate the feel of PC gaming. After a day sat at a PC last thing I want to see is a Desktop! With this it’s like turning on a console again. Thank you
Do you have to install the games? Or, would it just launch them from an external drive? I'd like this portable. Thanks for your great videos! Been following you for a while now
Why is there not a grouping setting for fullscreen mode i hate that there's not a platform fullscreen with the title of the platform and each game under that only works in desktop mode
Been watching the channel for a long time, but I am wondering the best places for roms? I have sites you mentioned a very long time ago but I am unsure how the rate now. Thanks
This is what iam looking for! THanks for this helpful video! looking forward to my lenovo legion go. when this device arrive i will set it up. does this app also automatically scans the "complicated" roms like switch and wiiu? could u do an extra tutorial for it if possible?
Help with Vita please My games aren’t listed like my NES ones, instead it’s a bunch of files and sub folders. Like my ps3 games. I’ve got the emulator set up in Playnite, but it won’t read my games. Any help/advice!
I gotta say at first I was thinking well I have launchbox for this same thing basically, so I don't know about for my gaming pc, but then as I watched your video , I was like this would be perfect for my ROG Ally. For some reason launchbox/bigbox doesn't run on my rog ally well. This is perfect for any windows handheld gaming device. Basically brings the steam deck organization to any of the windows based handheld.
Thanks, this is great. I'm having an issue though: once I use the app in fullscreen mode, instead of a Play button there's an Install button. Emulated games can't be installed so they don't work, I have to remove and add them again. This issue remains when switching back to the desktop app. I'm only emulating Switch, I don't know if it's an issue for all emulators.
I am having issues with full screen mode. I have connected my PC to TV and i am using it like console. Problem is when i exit the game, most of the time, Playnite stays minimized, i have to bring it up with mouse, which beats the whole purpose of console like experience. Any fix? I can't figure out how to fix this, the problem is incosistency. Sometimes Playnite does reopen after closing the game, but most of the time, it does not.
Ive been having issues with this one since day one i want to try it but it doesnt want to download the meta data for anything. Im not using steam which seems to be where its pulling its data from. So far big box is way better for me.
Great video as usual! I got playnite working fine and smooth but my only issue is trying to install themes. “Pfa: first time user of playnite and everything is perfect and looking good except trying to install a theme, I downloaded the theme I wanted and saved and relaunched in full screen mode. In settings the theme bar only shows *default* and when in 3rd party window it shows the theme I downloaded but will not stick. I searched around the net for an answer but no avail. Any input would be appreciated” thanks
Weird. I'm using a theme no problem. I can post a link or it will get deleted but one option is to just go to the page where you get playnite and click "add ons" at the top. You will see they are broken into categories. Two being "Themes Desktop" and "Themes Fullscreen". As long as you have Playnite installed and running, when you click download it will automatically open a dialog box in playnite asking you want to intall and use the theme. That's how I got the one I'm using. Or if you search "playnite installing themes" the first link has directions on how to manually install a theme along with a link to the page with the add ons that auto install when you click them.
There’s not one of your videos for any emulator that helped me be successful at this. I’m new to pc and been trying for 4 days and I’m so frustrated. U lose me when u start digging files. It’s so frustrating wish I had in person help so bad .
It might be because of it using windows. My whole life, but this explanation was pretty basic. Meaning, this set up is a lot easier than I had initially thought it would be. At least by the creators explanation.
I still need to have epic and steam installed right? And if i want the free games in epic i need to in to epic and save them to the library and then import it in playnite? For a minut i thought i could uninstall the other launchers completely and interact with the different stores from playnite😅 that would be amazing.
If I understand you correctly yes it is a app you install. However in my experience it dose a FAR better job integrating with all your accounts (ESP steam) than Galaxy.
Basically it's biggest asset is being able to see ALL the games you OWN (not just installed), across all the different stores in one app and without having to add them manually at all. It's much easier and faster than adding games as "non steam games" and far more feature rich in terms of getting all the details of the game, a nice background image, synopsis, latest news regarding the game etc. Instead of that blank space you get with "non steam games" in steam that just says, "Steam will launch the game for you". Playnite syncs with all your accts, you don't add anything manually. That's why games you don't even have installed are viewable. It auto downloads the metadata (game description, background, cover etc), you can add TONS of plugins like "time to beat" to have the app show the time to beat info when you pull up a games page (just a example of one of MANY ways you can customize this app, another extension I have auto adds what engine the game uses). There are countless skins to choose from. And it syncs with everything you can imagine. Have it synced to my Steam, EGS, Xbox acct (it will display games on PC Gamepass if you have a sub), GoG, Rockstar Launcher, EA app, and Ubisoft connect. I can launch any of the games from playnite. This is all configurable, but I have it set to minimize playnite to the system tray when I launch a game. So, say I launch an EGS game, it will automatically launch EGS, and the game and Playnite will automaticall minimize to the system tray (you can also set if it pops back up when you quit the game or not). You can also set it to auto close the store the game is from when you quit the game if you want. So, for example if I had that turned on it would auto close EGS after I quit the game. Or if I want to install a game I own, I can just click install in Playnite, it will launch the corresponding store/launcher like say Steam, and automatically pull up the prompt asking which drive I want to install the game on.
I gotta say when I found your channel and saw how easy you made it to install all these setups a whole WORLD OF RETRO GOODNESS OPENED UP FOR ME. I HOPE YOU KEEP MAKING THESE VIDEOS FOR YEARS TO COME.
Thank you, and I will try to keep my guides fresh for each new year.

LITTERALLY THO JUS SAVED ME A THOUSAND DOLLARS OF TAX MONEY CAUSE I WAS BOUT TO GET SOME SHIT 😂
This is a life changer. Having my Roms along with the Games from steam and Ubisoft connect in one list feels really nice and I don't have to open multiple launches. Really appreciate the guide. Keep it up man

do i set up my controller layout for emulators in that specific emulator or do i do it in playnite
Hey, is there a way to display titles as 3D boxes like Launchbox does? thanks!
Help with Vita please

I just can't get the Ubisoft Connect to work.
And the playtime thing isn't true. "Time Played" should be imported as well.
Time played can be imported for some integrations. It depends on what data the company allows other apps to pull. Some allow playtime some don't.

Playnite is awesome 👌
can someone help me, if i go to the emulated scan it doesnt pick my emulaters up

I wish, but nothing anyone can do about that.
how do you do this for Yuzu, i get nothing.
help i dont have the first time config menu
Do i need to actually install, for example gog galaxy before it can integrate the games from the said launcher?
If I understand you correctly yes it is a app you install. However in my experience it dose a FAR better job integrating with all your accounts (ESP steam) than Galaxy.
Did you really censor that ballet chick...
blame YT.
What's better this or launchbox? Why use one over the other?
Big box mode is paid where fullscreen mode of playnite is free
hi I would really appreciate it if you made a video how to do with the emulator Suyu I can't get it and by the way good video greetings from Sweden
IS THERE A WAY TO ADD PC GAMES NOT FROM STEAM OR EPIC OR GOG E.T.C?
It's compatible with almost everything. Exactly where are you trying to import games from?

how to separate them in the fullscreen mode, great video
