Because I am still terrible at TH-cam and didn't actually explain what Angel's Tears are... The Angel's Tears, who were also sometimes called the "Silver Masks," and the "Hands of Justice," took to the field of war only at the direct command of Sanguinius himself, serving as his agents on those rare occasions when the Great Angel deemed an enemy worthy only of annihilation. Armed with weapons best suited to the swift culling of those unworthy of a place in the Emperor's bright new Imperium, they descended upon the foe suddenly and unannounced, faces concealed in the silver death-masks of their Order and oaths of retribution on their lips. As with the other Orders of the First Sphere of the Blood Angels, the Angel's Tears surrendered their names and identities for the term of their service, taking one of the ritual names that identified them as a true Angel of Death, a bringer of destruction and a remorseless killer. Such ritual trappings stem from the teachings of Sanguinius himself, owing their origins to neither Terra nor Baal, a product of his own wisdom. They served to insulate his warriors from the horrific deaths they caused, for when a member of the Erelim put aside his mask and returned to the ranks of the Legion under his old name, he bore no lingering taint for the slaughter and destruction caused by the Erelim whose mantle he bore.
You magnificent Bastard you did it again XD knocked way out of the park. Had a blood angel army a long time ago before they were stolen ;_; loved seeing the work you did with these boys. Sanguinis would be proud
Beautiful work! Mentioned BA bits are hard to come by, the wings you used here can also be found in the firstborn Death Company kit. You can also find them in the BA assault terminator kit. Hope this helps someone out there!
Bro, those conversions are freaking incredible. Very nice! Paint job aside, your ideas and craftsmanship are top notch. As for your paint job, it's also bad ass. I think it awesome. Happy that you tube put your video in my feed. 👍😎👍
This conversion was nice and straight forward, without a lot of difficult extraneous sculpting. The only thing I can say is don't feel like you need to power through the paint job for the viewers sake. Especially after doing such a stellar job with the kitbash, the final paint job doesn't reflect that same level of dedication and focus.
Thank you and I agree on the final paint job not being on the same level as the conversion. Honestly though, I have so many half complete projects that I partially rushed these just to get them done so I did not have yet another 70% completed marine squad cluttering up my desk. So partially for the video, partially to reduce my clutter and stress levels .
I just wanted to let you know that this comment brough a smile to my face. One of the main reasons I do these videos is to share my process and inspire other hobbiest to brazenly hack up their expensive plastic toys!
@Amnioticly Tanked yea, man, you definitely hack some pricy plastic and resin, but the result is more valuable than the individual parts. Super cool models. 👍
Thank you Lord Glitterface! Its certainly possible, and a squad I have thought about doing in the past, but one challenge I run into is I don't personally have a use for them and its hard to justify $100 + for a squad that I don't have an army for. I am exploring options of getting store set up to sell some of my completed conversions and/or merch to help fund some more kit bashes. I've also recently monitizing on youtube which I also hope will help fund future projects such as this one! Also, love your username! -Phil
Good results and good video. Ace tip about gluing the butt armour on first, am literally going to do that if i decide to swap any mark 6 torsos. I have one TINY nitpick though, your Assault cannon conversion removes the ejection port thing and although i am not a gun guy it takes the conversion off the table for me. I am only really saying this because a similar conversion i did to Primaris heavy bolt pistols would have been much easier if i'd made the same 'mistake' and not painstakingly preserved them.
@@piccoloktheforged There are two different multi-barreled miniguns in the 30k, rotor cannons and assault cannons, with the roto cannons being in the special weapon kit. So slightly different weapons but a lot of people use rotor cannons for assault cannons
I could also see using the palatine blade helmets for some Dark Angels kitbashes, or maybe even some Dusk Raiders given their original recruitment coming from Albion.

I can tell you as someone that has all first born kits that MANY of them are cut diffidently or have different backpack joint points. Specially between eras stuff from 6th edition don't fit quite nicely with stuff from 3rd edition for exemple. I don't think your method is imprecise its much better for your sanity than shaving the 2 haves of different torsos to fit. Also your your helmets conversion are excellent.
one very good way to bulk out torsos that arent mk6 on the mk6 legs is by using grenades and pouches to cover stuff up, its what I do for sergeants in artificer armour
Although I was thinking “wait, don’t they have the assault cannon already,” but you were probably talking about the fact there are assault cannons for terminators, but not regular marines
As cool as these are, I'm wondering how they fit into Heresy? Before the heresy, Horus funnelled all the best resources into the armies he believed to be reliable enough to turn traitor that he could trust. The legions he believed to be remaining loyalist were therefore drained of resources and used older armour. The blood angels however still received a large amount of mark iv due to their large legion size and relatively fast marine replacement cycle due to their aggressive style of war. Horus sent the Blood Angels away towards Signus Prime at the extreme outer reaches of the galaxy with promises of a cure, meaning they missed the entire start of the heresy. There was no way to replenish their supplies and if would have been impossible for them to get the first batches of the Mark VI armour due to only the Iron Hands and Raven Guard seeing them in any real numbers at the start of the heresy. Even after the start of the heresy, the Blood Angels lost a huge portion of their forces, and then even more again as they attempted to sail through the ruinstorm. It was only the Pharos engine that allowed the majority of their forces to make it to Ultramar after the light of the astronomican was cloaked. To make it even more ridiculous, Ultramar was so cut off from the rest of the galaxy through the impassable Ruinstorm that they began making plans for Imperium Secundus, and even named Sanguinius Regent. There was no way in hell they were going to receive mark VI here. It would only be after the passing of the Ruinstorm, when the legions sailed back to Terra to prepare for the siege, that there would be any hope of the Blood Angels seeing any mark VI armour, however by this point the Imperial Fists that sat out the entirety of the heresy would have had all of it within their ranks. Not a single forge-world was free from massive civil war, and production of any new armour was absolutely impossible, hence the creation of the Mark V Heresy armour. Especially with Alpha Legion infiltrating the supply lines and Night Lords raiding vulnerable transports. By the time of the siege, the Blood Angels would have been absolutely battered and likely converting their mark II, III and IV armour into mark V. Furthermore when under siege, I suspect it might have been difficult for transport ships to get in to resupply with new fancy armour that only 3 legions in the entire heresy would ever realistically field in any number, with the Blood Angels being one of the few legions with literally zero reasons as to why they would ever be able to receive any. Not to mention of course none of the marines liked replacing their armour that they had grown used to, as replacing your military's standard equipment they'd spent the previous hundred wars fighting and training in. In conclusion, Blood Angels are basically one of the only legions that never saw any mark VI power armour and their elite units using more esotetic weapons, formed in tradition and history in the chapter are even less likely to ever willingly upgrade to this new fancy armour that was publicly dragged through the dirt by Perturabo before the heresy, when his opinion was trusted.
The legs are actually mk4 armour with the knees plates fused to the greaves for added protection and the few mk6 or 7 arms are just artificer armour prototypes and modifications to fit in with the rest of the unique armour this squad is wearing. Boom, problem solved
