We know you’ve been waiting for this one!
We’ve got two incredible Ferrari hybrid supercars going head-to-head over the quarter-mile! The question is, can the newer 296 GTB beat the almighty tri-motor SF90? Well, let’s take a closer look.
Starting with the 296 GTB, it’s powered by a 3-litre twin-turbo V6 coupled with an electric motor. These drive the rear wheels and combine to produce 830hp and 740Nm of torque. It still remains pretty light, tipping the scales at 1,470kg.
Then we have the SF90. It comes equipped with a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 coupled with three electric motors - two at the front and one at the back. Combined, they produce an eye-watering 1,000hp and 800Nm, pushing this power through all four wheels. It’s a bit heavier than the 296 GTB, though, at 1,570kg.
So how will this play out? The SF90 may have more power, but the 296 is lighter! Will the weight difference prove to be decisive? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

The rolling start races were really much closer than I expected. That 296 is an incredible car
I wonder if yianni is short shifting in SF90 but 296 is impressive 100-200 kph in 4.2 sec is insane same as 765LT
Thats why 296 is pulling in rolling races
But early start SF90 is bit quicker
And probably would be more fun at normal speeds as well cause it's rwd rather than awd

The engine in the 296 is a masterpiece. 120’ V6 with the turbo chargers in the v like the old F1 cars of the eighties is a work of art Bellissimo 👌🇮🇹
That V6 and the Nettuno from MC20 are best V6 engines 👌

This is one of the most mental drag races of all time, simply because of the underdog 296 GTB actually putting up an insanely good fight against the OG sf90 🤯🤯🤯🤯

It feels like Ferrari claims a lower BJP output, I believe if u were to put the 296 on the dyno it would probably have 880-900 BJP at wheels and 920 at crank

Really love how the 296 GTB's design tips its hat to Ferrari's older classic designs yet manages to look modern and fresh at the same time. Great job as usual Ferrari !

Looks like a step in the wrong direction to me tbh. The f8 tributo and the 488 style looks miles better to me, the 458 design language family of cars is peak Ferrari to me. This is too boxy and squarish, also looks too generic, without the Ferrari badge it could be any run of the mill supercar

@@irtiza4262true but the laferrari is rwd so it would have traction issues in a drag race. Also the sf90 makes 1000hp with turbochargers and awd making the launch that much faster. Although it doesnt look or sound as the laferrari it will most likely beat it in a straight line.

should have added in the 765LT here.. in other video the 296 and 765 races are also very close.. there are a lot of videos of the sf90 beating the 765 by a lot in the roll races.. but here on car wow.. the 296 beats both the sf90/765 but the 765 seems to be very close to catching the 296 just to the half mile.. the 296 seems to be distancing itself vs the sf90 tho.. hmmm...

I have been watching car wow since 2 years now and I watched every single video uploaded, I’ve never been so excited to see a race! At this point I would like to see the sf90 vs gt3 u guys also should do like a time boad and add all 1/4 mile times of the cars

The GTB actually didn't get destroyed by as much as I thought it would. The 1/2 mile race was particularly surprising.

We all know the SF90 is going to win, but I wasn't excepted the 296 can be time close, especially in the rolling race. Truly an outstanding car.

The 296 GTB with novitec exhaust is my favorite modern day sports car. An absolute beast.
you should check out the 296 GT3 omfg majestic machinery out of ferrari iv heard some critics like chris harris say its an ugly car i couldnt disagree with anyone on anything more than this, by far my fav ferrari before the 488 and some 00s classics like the enzo nd f50

I've reviewed both...and it was immediately clear to me that when both cars are rolling, the 296 is just as fast. The weight penalty of the SF90 and the electric motors running out of juice at higher speeds is the reason why the 296 is ever so slightly quicker past 150MPH. The Porsche 918 had the exact same issue.

On a dry circuit the 296 will destroy the Turbo S, it's performance difference on any decent surface is massive against the Turbo S.

812 and 296 are the two most beautiful Ferraris that you can buy nowadays. Not saying that Sf90 and F8 ain’t beautiful but they aren’t on the same level as 812 or 296

When I first saw the teasers for the 296, my immediate thought was that they’d finally brought some proper style and elegance back into the range… truly stunning and with the performance and sound to boot! Incredible bit of kit

Not interesting at all. I own a 296 and I previously owned a 992 Turbo S. The 296 is WAY faster. Not even close.

The 296GTB is the best Italian supercar in years and it’s actually Italian unlike Lamborghini, whose cars are all Audi/Porsche under the skin. Brands like Ferrari, Pagani etc should be cherished for still having integrity, which is rare these days.

Matt relaxed sat back and I love Yanni's forward race position in car; should be called the 'Yanni Lean', and definitely he is physically sightly quicker over the line as a result 😁👍
I like how near the end Matt explains to Yanni the difference of both cars (like he does to us at the beginning). Yanni really doesn't care lol, he just enjoys cars.
Emilia Hartford has a few videos putting an exhaust on a 296 and it sounds so damn good with an exhaust. Even without it it sounds amazing for a 6cyl. I only like the sound of a few v6s and the 296 is now one of them lol. Even tho it’s a super wide v. And the VR motors are super skinny V’s which is ironic. But you gotta love the sound of the old 2.7T out of the B5S4. Sounds so good.

Would you guys stop with this stupid nonsense. The 296 is WAY faster than the Turbo S. 296 has gone 9.7 on 91 octane on a dragstrip. That’s 9.5 on 93 octane. No Turbo S has even run in the 9’s. I own a 296 and also owned a 992 Turbo S. They aren’t even close. The 296 is a much, much faster car. The ridiculous amount of overhype the 992 gets is hilarious. I loved mine for sure, but it’s really not that fast. At least not 296, SF90, 765, or even F8 fast. It’s a level below these cars.
