    Just a fun fact...Honda announced the US release of that ct125 hunter cub I mentioned in this video less than 24 hrs after I posted this.

      I'll bet it will be over 4k. Maybe there will be a Chinese knockoff down the road.

      @spydie 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am the first guy in southern NM to pay a deposit on one, so I'll get the first one in southern NM. Originally scheduled for release in November, but now the Honda Reps say it might not be until after the first of the year.

      @@tomg.8418 They are $3899 msrp but with $750 setup and transportation (at the only dealer in southern NM) and tax/title/license It will be pushing $5000. There may never be a chinese knockoff. they've had since 1986 to do it and they haven't yet. Honda's patent ran out on the CT70 and they sold off all their manufacturing tooling for the CT70, so that's why the Chinese are making that one (and I just bought one last week) but I doubt Honda will let them make a Trail 90/110/125 clone. I paid a deposit on the new Trail 125 "Hunter" this week. Should have it by the first of the year, hopefully.

    Thank you for sharing. I’m thinking about getting one. It brings me back to my childhood with all my friends. Now that you’ve had it for awhile would you say they are reliable?
    Thank you

      Well at about 1200km I’m pretty pleased with it so far. No issues that I didn’t cause myself by beating the piss out of it. The only hiccup is everywhere you go someone has to ask me about it! Not necessarily a bad thing unless I’m in a hurry

    Great vid, I want one! So now that they are going to bring the Trail 125 to the U.S. do you think you will upgrade or are you happy with the Champ? I’m in CA so I’m unable to register the Champ but I could get a CT70 frame and swap everything over. Do you know if the frames are identical or just look the same?

    • @dadventuresandozzy7248
      @dadventuresandozzy7248  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m going to keep using this until the demand on the ct125 dies down and the dealers don’t hold all the power pricing wise. Hopefully I can get my kiddo on this and transition into the ct125. This thing is just so dang fun. And as for the frames I have no clue, sorry man.

      Amigo Motorsports started offering the Amigo Rocky 125 which is a CT70 clone made by Skyteam (manual 4-speed vs. semi-auto). The best thing is for you--the Rocky is CARB legal. Funny enough, Amigo Motorsports does not show this bike on their own site, but if you Google 'Amigo Rocky 125' there are several online retailers offering them. I belong to a clone group on Facebook, and coincidentally, an old classmate (class of '87) recognized me, and we had a reunion of sorts, LOL. But, more importantly, he lives in Bakersfield and bought an Amigo and registered it in your state.

Not a lot of people with the Amigo, however, and plenty of people with the Icebear, not to mention many members in Europe on Skyteam bikes (the founder of the group, Paul, is in UK), but you would probably bump into my old classmate if you inquired about the Amigo. facebook.com/groups/1526951340896237

    12 inch tubeless wheels do fit. 120/70-12 tires give it more of a tough look. You'll have to dimple the chain guard for clearance.

      No issues that weren’t self inflicted. Got a front fender bracket for like 20 bucks on Facebook vs those spacers. Hold it better. Also I over tightened the handlebar knob and broke the weld on the inside. Jb welded it. I would hands down buy this thing again.

    do you need a motorcycle license to drive an icebear champion on the road?

    • @dadventuresandozzy7248
      @dadventuresandozzy7248  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it’s state specific what conditions you can ride without the motorcycle endorsement . 8 years ago in Indiana you could drive your bike without the endorsement in daylight With your helmet and never a passenger. But times change

    • @GratefulEd907
      @GratefulEd907 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s a 125cc so I’d say I’m most states if not all of them yes you would need an motorcycle endorsement on your license. Depending on the state you can usually get a motorcycle license a year or so sooner than a regular drivers license but limited to 125cc and smaller

    Hello, The side badges 'Trail 70' (decals) , not the Honda decals... The side bade decals... Could you tell me if they are full size versions, or the slightly smaller versions for the clones. Both are available on ebay. Could you please measure the width and height of your decal? Are they 2.90" wide by 3.00" tall? Or are they bigger? How is that beautiful bike holding up so far? I heard that they are solid. A partner of mine and myself have two coming. Can't wait.
