Two things how did you remove the old stickers. I just bought one yesterday a new green color. I noticed 2 things right away. One the throttle seems to have a lot of slack in it. He gad three on showroom all were the same. Also it seems hard to down shift also. Does this seem to get better thats what the dealer told me. I had an original one way back in the seventies loved that little bike it was my freedom machine beat the hell out of my bicycle lol.

Hey mr Watson. Yeah the throttle has slack. I just deal with it. It did get easier to shift after a few miles and a few oil changes. As for the stickers, they came off very easy. Almost like Icebear knew they where going to be taken off. I would have used goo gone had I needed to. Also very cool about the Daniel Boone house being sold to your family! Love me some knowledge lol.

Awesome video well done! If you remove the two screws from the bottom of the throttle and take the throttle off you will find that the throttle grip is just a little to big for the handle bar. I wrapped the end of the Handlebar with two layers of blue painter's tape under where the grip sits to take up the extra space. Blue painter's tape has a nice waxy smooth finish to it so the grip won't stick to it. Check your fit to make sure that you haven't used too much or too little and adjust accordingly. Put it back together and adjust your cable tension nuts. Mine feels like a million bucks now. No slack no play Just instant response.

I want one and it m thinking about selling my 07 Yamaha xt225 to get one. Ya think it’s worth it. My bike has no issues and my 8 year old daughter loves it and don’t want me to sell. But I’m telling her she would be able to ride the ice bear in a few years and she likes the idea of that.

For what it’s worth. I wouldn’t get ride of my dedicated dual sport (dr650) for this. This thing is a fun novelty and a blast anywhere I ride it but I do find myself missing the power on longer rides and the bigger tires in the deep stuff.

Well your dr650 has a lot more power than my xt225. I can get it up to about 65 -70 Full throttle on the highway. I probably wouldn’t consider it if I had more power. But don’t feel like I’d be missing much. I’m sure doing 50 with those little wheels feels faster than than my bike. Lol
