Excellent lesson Shawn. I have always struggled to turn and swing through the ball and not at it. Your demonstation of head placement has enabled me to make my best contact on a consistent basis with my irons. I am now working on the Driver. So glad to find this video. It really works

Love the concepts in this video. Creating the lag and side bend naturally instead of making the body look like a picture on impact.

Give the brain a proper task and it will mold the 50 trillion cells of your body to accomplish this task out of pure self preservation; we had to perform these tasks to survive through a few hundred thousand years to get here; this is why you see the same patterns in baseball, hockey, tennis, lumberjacking, hammering, etc…see the real way to do things with a golf club at WISDOM IN GOLF PREMIUM.COM

Man Mu is my inspiration as a lefty. I’m making big strides in my first season thanks to having someone to model my swing after and of course Shawns #1 coaching approach. #1 coach hands down!

Right on Rich! We are having such a blast! Our students get going well past expectations and Mu is definitely a great example! He is taking this deeper and longer than ever! Wait till you see the consistency machine that is Jamie Lett! Video breaks tomorrow!

I’m still trying to get the right amount of side bend and keep my head behind the ball. I’ve had a few really good shots on my Garmin R10 in my garage trying this. I’ve been getting 7 irons (‘23 P790 w reg flex 95g shaft) to carry btwn 165 & 172yds on good contact. My ball speed is btwn 112 & 115mph but my club head speed is btwn 80 & 82mph. My peak height is only 78-85 feet…trying to get it a bit higher for better decent angle (currently around 39-43 degrees)
I’m working on getting my carry to be about 170yds consistently. Thank you for putting out educational videos like this. I’m 56yrs old and hitting the ball better than I have in 20 yrs.

See a very key video called “best lesson I ever got from Moe Norman Shawn Clement” it will add the height component to your portfolio! Then head to my premium channel at WISDOM IN GOLF PREMIUM.COM and see the “wisdom 2.0” series to start, then get into the “throwing series”, all the release videos, then the “target confirmation series” and the “kinetic chain facilitation and engagement series” for the extra power component!

It seems I remember a video where I thought you said it wasn't good to keep the head still?

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  2 ปีที่แล้ว

yes, absolutely! you don’t want to FOCUS on keeping a still head, you want to focus on delivering an action around the axis of the tilt-head and out in the direction of the target and the end result is a head that stays still or quiet or steady WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT IT!!😝

Great video and content Shawn and just what I need as Friday when I played my slice came back from the dead , I know my head has been moving, my target has been the ball and I’m over swinging with no rhythm

Regarding Mu’s ball placement. Is it similar to ball placement for a fairway wood? Or does it just look that way because of camera angle? Thanks for another great video.

Mu has improved so much. His swing tempo is fabulous and he rockets the ball. 340 carry, I can’t do 340 total. I can’t do 300 total. The only time my drive totaled over 300 was on a severe downhill tee. Nice job, Mu. Wishing you all the best in long drive comps.

yeah man! we are having a great time here in Portland Connecticut at Chris Cote’s Golf Performance Centre which has a range 500 yards long by 300 yards wide; just awesome! we had brand new Pro V golf balls for our clinics with Callaway Tents, brand new Mats, great targets, all the trimmings! best retail facility for service and items in stock I have seen. Hats off to the whole team and bless you for making your mission to help golfers of all levels.

Amazing swing Mu's soo good!!! Carry 341 wow. In the back swing his head sways/moves off the ball. Is this correct as i do the same only 100 yards less :)?

After re-watching his head move to his left only as hi gets his weigh on the trail leg. Once his swing begins it's rock steady... I think.

@@wn8188 exactly! What holds the head in the downswing is the focus on the direction he wants to start the ball!

Hey Shawn new subscriber and the videos have revolutionized my iron game so thank you! I’m still struggling with my driver. As the ball gets further forward I am having a hard time staying behind it and when I do I am still getting a snap hook left or a pop fly. Any recommendations? Thank you!

A steady head, if overdone, can also result in the chest stopping rotation thru the shot & forcing the arms to do the work.

To clarify Shawn . Your head stays centered, bobs but never goes forward even in your finished thru swing ?

I just checked their website and every model men’s golf shoe I saw has a 6mm drop. So they are not much different than other golf shoes.
