    Theres no other like Mr Paul Wilson explaining things in just a simple way, but very very accurate and helpful. One of the 100 best tips of Mr Paul. See the label or better yet, move the head back to the back foot and keep it there as you hit the ball. Thank you again for all the best tips. Trust me guys, ive seen dozens and dozens of best coaches but... not even one get close to be as good as Mr. Paul Wilson.

      Thanks for the kind words. I appreciate it. Yes, that's a good tip for sure. Too many people trying to keep their head too still. This hampers the loading of the weight. No loading and you will hit with the arms for sure. Thanks for the promo to others. One day everyone will come around and want to do what I am teaching. Just need to be patient.

    Watched your video prior to today’s round. Always shoot around 100 but today 86! Have been playing golf for 60 years- always assuming that everthing had to be geared to making a divot ahead of ball-get hands forward, slide hips forward-fall forward after shot. Today I concentrated on keeping my upper body behind the ball until contact and what a transformation.

      You're welcome. A lot of people out there need help so I'm doing what I can. That's great that you are still hitting balls. It takes daily practice to get good at this. Not everyone can hit balls daily so for those people I keep telling them to do daily practice swings. For you, make sure you are not just beating balls. Use your time wisely. If so, I can get you there in days, weeks or months.

      Because you don't have the right thoughts. You get to the course and distance thoughts can creep in. You need to know the exactly positions you are trying to hit especially into the follow through. Then you are not thinking of hitting the ball in any way. You are moving from point A to point B and the ball is hit. th-cam.com/video/gIp4ifKuZIw/w-d-xo.html

      Putting is simple. You need to be target oriented. Imagine a ball in your bottom hand. Thumbs straight down the flat surface of the grip. Feel like you are throwing the ball at the target. That will move the face to the target. NEVER think about your stroke.
      Practice only long putts 30+ feet and 6 feet or less. That's it. Do that you will be great.

    I have been a "hitter" for 30 years. Age compels me to use centrifugal energy instead of muscling a swing. Loose wrists and lower body turn added 20 yards to my sand wedge. Can't wait to get to the range to hit some full shots. Focusing on a spot on the back of the ball and visualizing wrists that hinge on both sides has gotten me MUCH more accurate on line.

    Hi Paul, I know this video is 3 years old, but I came across it yesterday and decided to try it with a few holes left in my round . My game is in pretty good shape and it’s the driver that has been my issue to be honest, everything has been clicking into place as I strive for a scratch handicap , this one tip has lead me to slightly tilting my head so I can create that impact feel at address and maintain it throughout, my ball striking improved so dramatically and has given me so much more confidence with driver in hand (and distance 😂) I know I’m late to the party here Paul , but I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the video, and also your excellent content over the years ❤

    Did videos of my driver swing Sunday. Saw I was way ahead of the ball so hitting up was an issue. Searched your videos and found this tip. On Tuesday at Golf League, all I did was was, keep my eyes focused on staying looking at the logo. NO range session, not a single ball hit to try it and it worked 1st drive out of the box. The only negative effect was a fade instead of an occasional duck hook. This was about as simple as you can get. Finally I got the ball up for better carry and more distance that had already improved through loose wrists and breaking the wrist to get the club back to parallel. I used to really like my slight fade. That's when I played my best golf 20 years ago. 240 carry 260 drives. I can't wait to see how far the ball will carry going forward. Looking for 270 at 70. I love the simple techniques you teach. If it's technical training which I've tried, I run.

      If you are in pain playing golf you are doing it wrong. In no way should the golf swing hurt your body. The main cause is people swinging super hard with just their arms. This locks everything up as you try to do a physical movement. So immediately start loosening up. All of my tips are based on this. Watch this one:

    Good lesson Paul, thanks for sharing this. It took me years to stay behind the ball and flush it but now it's worth it. Part of the reason is your golf videos, as an adult learned player. It's brutal to pick the game up. I actually have friends who teach golf in the north florida area who won't take adult students who are beginners because it's brutal to teach them. Thanks for having patience with us hacks.
    PS thanks for the kids advice I got my daughter swinging lead arm dominant and following a lot of you principals for the first year and now she has a swing coach for ~2 years now, she is 7 now. It's true what you say the game is very easy for these kids when they start at 5, 6, 7 years old. They have no ego or interest in power, they just make the swing and hit the ball, it's quite remarkable.

      Glad you liked it. This one is vital. I love teaching beginners and the worst golfers. Great feeling when you get them hitting it and looking like a pro. Beginners are easy. No bad habits but I teach differently than anyone else so I know they would have trouble with it. For sure about the kids. I guess I am the only one who is saying it. Most people are trying to learn moves of pros who started as kids. It can be done but you have to take this into consideration when trying to learn some moves. Glad you got your daughter into it now. Stay focused. Did you see the girl I teach? She literally got to a 7 hdcp in a year and half by watching my videos and reading my book:
      th-cam.com/video/I8WRHJkTzyY/w-d-xo.html
      He brother is even better. He flies it 280+ at 13. Both have broken par now numerous times. She is at about 2.5 years and the brother even less. Stick with the tips and using the body not the arms. Your daughter will be great as she gets older.

    Funny thing is, I always use the label when trying to use the driver. I never thought of that with the irons!
    I thought - the weight shift happened in the down swing. I recently figured out - that's wrong! I never thought about golf when I was younger. I started trying to play golf when I was 53. So as you put it - I was wrong in my thinking about the swing.
    My coach has had me working on some new drills to stop that and quite my right hand - trail arm only swing. They are both helping. Your explanation on head position just helped me understand.
    Thank you sir

      Glad you are figuring it out. The shift happens but it tilts you more in the downswing. I refer to it like hitting the accelerator on a car. Hit the gas and you go back in the seat. Same in golf. This backwards tilt determines the path from the inside. Need to fire quick though.

    Hi Paul, I'm a brand new subscriber and I want to give credit where credit is due. I took up golf 3.5 years ago when I retired at age 58. I became obsessed with this game immediately although never played before. I started with scores around 115 and after 2 years was shooting in the high 80s low 90s. One of the aspects that was escaping me was my ability to stay behind the ball so as obsessed people tend to do I dove in head first and did my research. I watched and read 9 different perspectives (all professional instructors like yourself although I will not drop names) about this subject and then stumbled upon you. Your description and demeanor of how to accomplish this seemed logical, rational and seemingly executable to me. Today I went to the range for the first time after seeing this video and it was magical. I had a consistent in to out swing path, added 15 yards to each of my irons and actually took shallow consistent divots (for the first time!). In fact, one of the club members commented "what a beautiful swing you have sir". I was swinging the club in a far more controlled swing with a much slower albeit even tempo and the ball exploded off the club face. Heck, I even played around with hitting draws and fades with good results although the draw was far more controllable than the fade. I cannot thank you enough and look forward to learning more from you. I believe you are in the Las Vegas area (?), is it possible to book a lesson with you if I can manage to make my way there? Thanks again Paul I look forward to diving into more of your content. Rick (Wisconsin)

    Focusing on shallowing the club path put me in this body position almost naturally...I was loving it for weeks...esp the new sound of the ball off the face and the extra power in my shots....unfortunately old habits crept back in and now I'm working on getting it back

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just slow back down to 50%. This is a huge problem. Once people get it they want more. This is fine if you fire the lower body harder. If the arms take over you are back to hitting. At 50%, you are taking the power out the arms so your body would have to become the power source.

    Paul Wilson...What an amazing tip...either looking at a spot on the back of the ball OR moving the head to the right foot. In both cases
    keeping the head there until after contact. Keeping the head behind the ball does work for the driver...because it has adding 20 yds to my drives
    but have not used these tip Paul on irons.

    Paul is excellent cuz he keeps it lot more simple, minimizing swing thoughts.
    One question though, I can pure my irons but they often overdraw. I do have a little stronger grip but I can’t get comfortable with a more neutral grip.

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      Glad you like them and see the simplicity. This is the key. As for the draw if you are overdrawing it that would be from the strong grip. If you can't get used to the neutral then you have an issue. If your wrists are a little too loose (which is what I teach) with a strong grip you will hook it. So you need a little tighter wrists and definitely be sure to fire the lower body quick to start down. Use the arms and it will go left. Watch:

      I agree highly! I've learned how to take the "hit" tendency and turn it into an effortless swing by using my lower and allowing my arms to come along for the ride. As a result, I've stopped skying like I did prior. That, in of itself, has added 50 yards onto my drive. Now, just to perfect the swing to add more distance is where I'm at in the process.

    Excellent, really helpful. I learnt to play, here in England, in the 50s from Ben Hogan's "Modern Fundamentals" book. Got down to single figures but in the last 10 years or so my game has been deteriorating. I was coming up off the ball and maybe flipping it. This video has really helped. I've only had a couple of sessions on the practise ground but already it looks and feels better. On checking back on Ben's book I find that your teaching is identical to his. The bonus is that I now feel I'm "supinating" my left wrist again. You have no idea how much better I feel! Many thanks.

      So glad you found me and are working it. Just keep understanding what I'm teaching and you will get it back without a problem. I do have the 5 fundamentals book somewhere. I'm not even sure I have ever read the whole thing so that's funny our teachings align. I did learn the firing of my lower body from his first book "Power Golf" (page 30 something) and have done that every since.
      The supination comes from loose wrists and firing the lower body. The wrists are a hinge. You might want to watch this too: th-cam.com/video/RM4OX3m2-90/w-d-xo.html

    Hi again Paul. During all my years of intensive research and many many expensive lessons from "THE BEST" instructors i was never told to stay behind the ball at impact. I now know through recent experience after watching your video that this is the most important requisite to perfect impact. My only query is this. If the spine angle is tilted and our body is behind the ball where and when does the power come from. Talk about magic

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, this is a vital part of the swing. Too many people hitting with arms from the top why leans them forward in the downswing. Glad you see this. You get the power through loose wrists. Have you not seen my other tips? I just posted this yesterday:

      Draw or pull hook? A real draw you would aim for the center. Ball would start out on the right side of the green and draw back to the center. To get the ball starting right you need to tilt a little more the in the downswing. This will get the path swinging right. Release the wrists and you have the spin:

    Thanks for this tip, I have been trying to stay behind or tilted backwards, when one of my golfing partners said your not moving through the ball. I replied I’m trying to stay behind when I hit the ball, he thought I was all wrong. I’ll forward this tip to him. 😁

      Yeah, never listen to your friends. You are not working on staying behind it forever. Just until you stay behind it and get the tilt. Then you are going to fire the lower getting off the back foot. No worries. You will be beating your friends in no time. Stick with it.

    When I played today I had one swing thought. Hinge/rehinge. And it worked great Paul, thanks! Shot a 38 on 9 holes, par is 36.

      Perfect. One swing thought. Keep it simple and do something instead of 10 thoughts and doing nothing. The hinge/rehinge is a big part of the swing. Do that until mastered then think body.

    great video i notice i have been doing this not just with my driver but all my clubs. something im starting to focus on when im at the range it leads to lower launch angles with longer clubs and higher ones with shorter clubs. the driver is the most severe case for me my normal swing averages around 6* when i should be around 14 or 15.

      Hitting with arms which is leaning you forward in the downswing. Probably a strong grip too. Watch:

    Was just at the range. Hitting the ball ok but not that great. Have an outing tomorrow at a private course so really want to be able to play well. Got home, found this video and went to the back yard to hit some wedges. Holy cow! I never knew a wedge could click like that! I did hit some fat shots but when I started just letting the swing happen I was clipping the ball just beautifully. I'll have to come back here after my round and let you know how it went.

      I would try to get back to the range before tomorrow and hit a few otherwise do a few hundred practice swings so it sinks in.

      Great to hear! This is a big one for hitting solid shots and attacking from the inside. Keep at it.

    Hi Paul. Thanks for helping all of us out here. Paul can you please advise whether you actually keep your eye or eyes on the ball for the entire golf swing.

      Yes, this is a big one. Most amateurs do not do this. Get this and you start making great contact plus you start looking like a pro when you swing.

    This is exactly what I was looking for! I can’t wait to go to the range. I am thin my I want the logo on the back inside right? And or I could put three dots on the dimples inside right.

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Doesn't matter about inside right. Just point it away from the target first. This will keep you behind it and create the path from the inside. If not then try to position it to the inside. I have tons of other tips on path.
