      @@AndrewEmeryGolf It’s weird, Andrew. I watch so much TH-cam golf content. By definition, they’re general in their focus. But your videos seem to be personally tailored to me, as if you’re directly answering my questions. They’ve had a massive impact on me. I’d buy you a drink if you were still living here in Blighty!

    This is it. It works. This guy is teaching money concepts. 90% of all teachers out there are pushing the wrong concepts for club golfers. They are pushing the body swing on golfers who aren’t using their hands. I now work on stabilizing the body on the downswing. The body does turn, but it’s not my intent. It’s a reaction. I’m hitting it more solidly and consistently than I ever have. Thanks, Andrew!

    Best instructor on the planet! Bold statement I know, but Andrew debunks almost everything we am's have been taught. I've only watched his videos and he has changed my swing dramatically and I was already a six handicap with the crap swing I had. Andrew I can report back that your approach for us old "slow lane" golfers is actually working-well. The simple thought of keeping the back to target, dropping the arms as the forearms twist the shaft square is working. Im getting back some of the speed and accuracy now that has been lost over the decades-im 58 and have only restarted golf 3 years ago after 30 years away as i wish to play with my sons. TH-cam golf is a very fraught place. Few cater to the masses of slow lane golfers. My local pros spurt the same stuff-"fire the hips", "its the core not the arms that sling the club", "its from the ground up" etc etc
    All other channels I subscribed to are now are deleted.
    If you dont do what the others do and Keep it simple, dont change to something new and exciting with every video but just keep reinforcing the same concepts that will be very refreshing.

    Fabulous, well spoken instruction, feels like he is coaching me directly. Has helped me greatly with watching just 5 lessons. I’m 70 years old and his sling the club with the arms and hands has got me driving the ball an extra 30 to 40 yards. Training my hands and wrists has really tightened my iron play. I have taking a lot of personal lessons with minimal improvement. Very well targeted instruction to the amateur golfer. I feel I have a chance to break 80 again with his instruction. Enjoying his instruction from Canada.

    Andrew- I set up with my trail shoulder closed, trail arm under lead arm, and try to keep my back to the target as long as possible. My trail arm is going under my lead arm. I had a spinning out move as you described. This stopped that. I swing in to out on down swing, and fire with full extension through the ball, hitting a small draw. I hit a high tee shot that carries well, for a 70+ year old golfer. Very solid contact. My grip is strong, that naturally closes the face. I don’t have to think about it.

    Love your instruction for us mere mortals! Absolutely the best instruction that I have seen for amateur golfers! I really appreciate your explanations including the “why” behind each point and the fact that you always point out which type of swing each point applies to. I don’t think everyone does a good job of explaining that on the front end and unfortunately it isn’t always obvious to those that don’t study swing mechanics regularly. I truly appreciate the time and effort that you have put into this and many of your videos/lessons have helped me tremendously. I have recently shot my 2 best rounds ever at an 82 and 84 which was a 10 stroke jump for me. I did notice on those rounds that the biggest difference was staying out of hazards off the tee and then chipping and putting well. Oddly enough my iron play was a little off in both rounds which is usually my strong point. Regardless of score, I have enjoyed the game so much more being able to swing more freely and consistently with your instruction. Thank you Andrew!

      Mike, I’m free wheeling! Impact of course isn’t a position! Trying to create forward shaft lean or lag is counter productive for most! I like to send my speed home. It’s not a flip but rather a throwing motion with the arms relaxing/extending and of course rotating! I will say that I’m very cognizant of swinging ‘through’ the ball rather than AT the ball! Hi Andrew, great video, for me and perhaps others if you simply pull those hands down as quick as you can with your back to the target your body and arms rollout naturally, natural reaction is to turn , you cannot stop it. Simply keeping my back to the target and pulling my arms straight down forces the club to square up straight at the ball easily with nothing to think about . Very much what Greg teachers at Overhand Golf . ( Keep up the great work !!)

      We’re hitting down (-) AOA with the irons which negates loft and helps with compression! If you do this with a driver you’re going to have some problems. Hitting up is what most recreational golfers are missing. The lead wrist isn’t pointing down like an iron. Try feeling like your lead wrist is pointing slightly up through the ball. Here’s a video that should help! ⬇️

    • @AndrewEmeryGolf
      @AndrewEmeryGolf  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Larry, in general pitches require a different ‘release pattern’ in order to utilize the bounce and loft of the sand wedge! Most recreational golfers have slow ball speed tee to green and fast ball speed with their short game which is problematic!
      Twisting the shaft negates dynamic loft and promotes a draw with an inside out path which is very effective from the tee to the green. But an ‘open’ club face will always be your friend when you want to get up and down with a ‘pitch’ shot around the green!! Best, Coach A. 🏌️‍♂️⛳️🙏🏻

      I think your videos are hitting the spot with me. Im a senior golfer with a stiff back and knees and have recently been taught to fire my bloody hips and pivot as fast as I can as the first motion in the downswing and your arms follow etc etc. I played OK golf as a youngster and definitely felt my arms go first with that feeling of a club sling with my back staying to the target. This feeling of the arms dropping and the the tumbling the head out over past the handle is what I mean -handle drops down, clubhead out in front of it sort of thing. I wonder if this description below is similar the motion you refer to when you mention torquing the club with your hands--

    Really great! I went out this evening with my seven iron and was able to incorporate a lot of what you’re describing, including keeping my back to the target, and I ended up hitting some really great shots. Thank you for all of your excellent coaching! 🏌️‍♂️
