I grew out of those bilingual baby shows years ago and they included Dora The Explorer, Go Diego Go, Dora And Friends Into The City, Handy Manny and Handy Manny’s School For Tools
Give it the Duraludon treatment Give an evolution that just slightly stronger to fit the 600 BST and now you have A Pseudo like Archaludon (IT COUNTS AS A PSEUDO IN MY BOOK OK?)
Crobats silhouette is actually accurate, because according to some leaked files Crobat is actually measured from the tip of its feet to the tips of it ears, it's wings are not counted in the measurements. So in other words, Crobats round body, not counting the wings is actually 5ft 11! THATS A FREAKING HUGE BAT!
i do see those purple tufts on the bottom of its body to be a vestigial pair of legs since it practically gave up it's legs for a 2nd pair of wings, even still Crobat is just massive for a bat
@@DarkelefantosI was genuinely scared when I first saw an alpha Crobat in that game. It fills up the entire width of the caves. It was almost as terrifying as encountering a wild level 70 alpha Gliscor that proceeded to sweep my team while searching for the primal/origin stone.
Honestly I like the idea of a “silhouette test” to determine if the species is “monstrous” or imposing enough. Like if you take the pokemon and turn them into a completely black silhouette, does it look monstrous and if so then it passes. The Crobat vs Gengar part is a great example where Gengar could be argued to be more monstrous normally, but going by silhouettes Crobat looks incredibly terrifying
The irony of Kingdra is that Gen 2 was the only generation to not have a dragon type pseudo. Picking that as the only additional pseudo would fill that hole haha
I think it's great bc then you get to use it throughout the game rather than having to scramble to level it up and evolve it at the end/postgame. That's why I appreciate Gible being available after the 2nd gym in DPPt so it grows with the rest of the team.
@@mr.sandman7339 That's also why Crystal Legacy makes Larvitar available in Dark Cave and gives the player's rival one: to give it a zero-to-hero arc throughout the game.
Well, considering it takes the LITERAL power of friendship to get it to that stage, it makes a bit more sense. Most Golbats will never feel the love they need to eventually become Crobat
I somehow ended up with Crobat on my final team in both HeartGold and Legends Arceus just because I used Zubat to deal with the annoying bug and grass types, and by some miracle kept it long enough to become a speedy sweeper in the late game when I accidentally evolved it.
my first game was Diamond, found a Zubat early, captured it, evolved it to Golbat then Crobat almost immediately because i used it a lot and had the friendship recquired... THE BAT CAN SWEEP like holy f*ck people talk a lot about Magikarp being weak and an annoyance yet turning into a powerhouse called Gyarados but Zubats are thrown to your face in every cave and evolve to one of the fastest "regular" Pokémon with access to flinch moves and great STAB options
“I am sick of pseudo legendary pokemon!” Me too, Mikey, me too, all of them keep murdering my GOAT pincurchin Edit: good god i did not know so many of you liked pincurchin
An perfect example of a cute yet imposing Pseudo legendary: Ash’s Goodra. While still being cute and a big old sweetheart, it is incredibly powerful. It not only threw Ash and Pikachu hundreds of feet into the air onto Team Rocket’s plane, Goodra then proceeded to LAUNCH ITSELF LIKE A ROCKET by using Hyper Beam on the ground!
Not to mention Goodra is BIG. At 2 meters (6'7") tall it's taller than most fully grown adults, and absolutely TOWERS over some trainers. Hisuian Goodra is only 5'7", but at twice the weight we can see that most of that height went into expanding it's shell
Haxorus is still a pseudo legendary in my heart. Also, Scolipede has a very "pseudo legendary" like evolution quirk: a middle evolution that looks like a cocoon, just like pupitar and shelgon
@@TotalAnalyst2 Yeah, I know, it's stats are also too low (485 total). But with some number changes (stats/evolution level, even move pool) it could be.
20:54 Kingdra and Dragonite also have a rivalry, where according to it's Dex entry (and the episode in the anime) if a Kingdra hears a Dragonite's roar, it will show up to challenge it
I mean... Magmortar should be a Psuedo if Electivire is one... considering they are counterparts. However, for both Electivire and Magmortar, the thing that should disqualify them, is the evolution method. For Grimmsnarl/Hatterene, there really isn't a correct option imo... since the problem is that they are counterparts, so both should be a psuedo. However, both their secondary typings overlap with an already psuedo typing... however... considering this list also has given us three Poison types... i say Galar should just give us another set of 2 Psuedo's, like Hoenn did. The thing that should disqualify Kingdra, is its evolution method, especially comparing to the other Psuedo's.
Turning Mega-Houndoom into a third form evolution should result in the name Houndire. The -dire part can be pulled from the word dire and "Dire wolf". It really would be the best option.
@@VinniePaul91 it doesn't look dumb af but out of Electabuzz and Magmar, Electabuzz definitely got a better glow up The changes from Magmar to Magmortar aren't as big as from Electabuzz to Electivire, I'd say
@@Zer0AsWellsalutations, to the part of the human population that frequently enjoys media pertaining to the multi-million dollar icon and industry colloquially and professionally known as "Pokèmon"
12:10 you could call it Houndmageddon. Houndour -> Houndoom -> Houndmageddon. Also, it would take the cake for longest Pokémon name at 13 characters, with Crabominable being 12.
Magmortar and Electivire have too much lore together in art and being introduced in the same region to be forgotten like they have and I’ll die by that. Two of my favourite Pokémon
The Houndoom idea would be awesome, likely giving it more competitive potential and it could still keep a Mega Evolution with maybe a different ability. Solar Power was just so detrimental for it; do Intimidate instead to compensate for one of the biggest reasons why it never did as good as people wanted it to - its lackluster bulk.
solar power was awesome dude, would've been a staple of sun teams if mega char y didnt have drought. other people in the comments are saying that you're just remaking incineroar with intimidate, and they're wrong. incin has a focus on team support with intimidate, parting shot, fake out, etc. an idea i thought of is to give it an "-ate" move (refrigerate, pixilate, aerilae) called Incinerate that converts normal moves into fire type moves, and gives a 30% boost to said normal moves. since it already knows hyper voice, i feel it would fit thematically for a fire type dog to constantly howl at something until the it passes out from heat exhaustion. if it had a competitive set, it would probably be: Houndoom-Mega @ Heavy-Duty Boots Ability: Incinerate Tera Type: Ground EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature - Hyper Voice - Dark Pulse - Nasty Plot - Tera Blast
I like Houndoom as is without the "Mega". It's a cute Doggy who takes care of its loved ones despite its "Evil Appearance"! If Pokemon were real I'd love to get a full team of just Dog/Canine Pokemon. Although, my absolute favorite would be a team of just Dragons/Dragon-like Pokemon: Dragonite, Charizard, Salamance, Flygon, Goodra, and Gyarados.
Argument in favor of Grimmsnarl: you ever see The Spiderwick Chronicles? There are a number of very small gremlin creatures under 2 feet tall that are demonstrably dangerous, Grimmsnarl is that but twice as big. Absolutely big enough for a myth or legend to sprout up around.
Frankly I feel like both Hatterene and Grimmsnarl would've made awesome pseudos. Now I kind of want a tiny pseudo that uses its powers to construct a much larger body like Hatterene.
The fact that Arcanine didn't even get mentioned while Volcarona, a 2-stage evo did is a crime. Arcanine is LITERALLY a PSEUDO Legengary according to its dex entries, as several of them give it the legendary status despite not being one. And the damn thing is 6'3!
@@NeonWafflez707 And? I'm saying that he didn't even mention Arcanine. If A. Golem and Ursaluna were mentioned, then so should Arcanine. I'm not asking him to pick Arcanine in the first place.
@ I suppose. I don’t think there’s a good reason. He probably just forgot. Any reason I could think of doesn’t make sense because of other pokemon mentioned. 🤷♂️
Just wanted to say it again, but the editing recently improved a ton compared to when I first watched about 2 years ago. The editing in this video was incredible
I actually agree with all your choices. Another great vid Mikey! Also bonus points to KeeLoker for using the Pokemon Shuffle icons for Crobat and Gengar :)
I’m pleased to see that I’m not the only one who wishes Volcarona (my #1 favorite Bug) was a Pseudo. But sadly, it falls short. 😭 Still, I can see the logic behind some of these choices. Nicely done, Mikey! 👍
“Tinkaton isn’t scary.” Consider what made the ancestors of our species take off, our ability to make and use tools for hunting. We were so good at it, it is believed that we drove certain species to extinction. Now consider how Tinkaton hunts. Rather than taking on Corviknight head on, it crafts a hammer and launches rocks in their direction while they fly. This takes more precision than, say, throwing a spear, since in addition to calculating the speed at which the projectile is launched, Tinkaton also has to take into account the speed at which Corviknight fly. On top of that, a spear is arguably easier to make than a massive hammer made from pieces of metal. Yes, there are other intelligent pokemon that make and use tools, but they lack the malice that Tinkaton does. Did I mention the fact that the line molds metal they use with just their hammer? No protective equipment, no heat to soften the metal, nothing.
In Japan it’s called the 600 club and the only requirements are to have a base stat total of 600 and they consider Archuladon to be one and I love this so much more than pseudo legendaries
@MasterAdventure-qg5xz pseudo legendary is a pretty well agreed upon term in the english speaking pokemon community, i wouldn't say they overcomplicated things
@@MasterAdventure-qg5xzokay but hear me out, for a video like this throwing away requirements like that with a "but that could change!" Makes the video a lot less interesting. If you remove the three stage requirement and the size requirement and the appearance requirement it just becomes randomly listing whatever pokemon with no true rhyme or reason.
Okay, victeebel and crobat are WAY bigger than I thought they were. I thought crobat was the size of a bat and victreebel was the size of a large house plant, these dudes are HUGE.
I liked when Gruntry Boi was speaking Spanish in the sponsor part of the video, it gave me flashbacks to the Spanish Speaking Dragonite from Pokémon Talk and Squirtle speaking Spanish on some occasions to, I miss Pokémon Talk and I really hope the series can return some day it would be a dream come true. 👍
Because for some reason, it is the only winged pokemon that's not measured wing tip to wing tip... if you look at every other winged pokemon gen 6 and prior its always measured by wing tips unless they are an insect.
0:55 Gamefreak: Guess we'll have to do a fairy x dragon , electric x dragon , grass x dragon, water x dragon, fire x dragon, normal x dragon, poison x dragon, and bug x dragon (I think most people would be okay with this one) because God forbid we get another non dragon pseudo like Metagross again.
I would like to see a starter trio where the final evolution for all three gives them a secondary dragon type, the region could take inspiration from ancient china what with dragons being an important cultural symbol.
@@ALDO_GOODENS Problem is it depends on the dual typings, as Fire/Fairy or Water/Fairy are virtually impossible in that set, considering Fire/Fairy wouldn't be weak against the Steel typing (Fire resists Steel) and Fire/Steel isn't an option either, since the same is said for Water/Fairy.
@@nickdentoom1173 I think he means to swap the typings so instead of the base typing being fire/water/grass it would instead be steel/fairy/fighting. The same concept as traditional starters but a new triangle
7:06 okay, I’m going to say it and it may not get 1,000 likes, but NEVER had I witnessed something both disturbing, AND amazing in the same edit! Great work to your editor as always!
Hear me out here Lapras becomes a middle stage. Give it a cutesy tiny baby form like Dratini or Gible. And give it an actual evolution that is Ice/Water and is basically a larger Lapras with ice spikes protruding from its back. Why wasn't it a pseudo before? Well they were hunted to near extinction. The population has only recently reached the state again where they could get to full size.
While I appreciate the overall thought, I feel you will need to keep it's current vibe intact. It's a transportation pokemon at it's core, can't have ice spikes ruin that. Truthfully I would pick the GMax design and refine it further, lean into the music angle a bit more.
Nah, make it LOOK like it should evolve from lapras, but make it an entirely different pokemon while still having an almost identical love pool. > Lookin at you, carbink/diance
@ThingInTheHall yeah, to this day, that is one of the most infuriating things I have gotten to witness/experience. And I've still not forgiven pokemon for that crap.
Because buffing stats is as simple as changing a few numbers in the code. It doesn’t affect lore, Pokémon biology, or anything like that. Changing the size of Pokemon directly alters what their initial design was and changes everything a stat change didn’t.
If Arcanine and Snorlax had a middle evolution, I think they would've been great candidates. Also I would go with Tinkaton instead of Grimmsnarl since Tinkaton has a scary huge weapon and a dex entry. If it can knock a Corviknight out of the sky, I would consider it extremely terrifying. I also think it depends on the perspective of a pseudo legendary to people. For me, a pseudo legendary is a Pokemon that looks like it could destroy once it's in action and the aura around it. (You know what I mean)
I don't really think Tinkaton's size should be a disqualifier, fairies can be deceptively powerful weirdos and the "tiny cutie with giant hammer that could easily destroy everything" archetype is basically on the level of kaiju as far as I'm concerned
Ursaluna is more intimidating than any of the actual Pseudos. It hits so freaking hard and is tanky. I would've picked it over Slaking, especially since Slaking has Truant. Also, I think Arboliva would be a better pick than Weepinbell for Grass Pseudo. It's a foot smaller than Victreebel, but it gives off this vibe of being a wise, ancient being, which I think works well for a Pseudo. Plus, if you've seen the anime, there's that Giant one that is literally an ancient Pokemon of some heroic legend or something like that.
Another reason regarding starters disqualified from psuedo-status, unless you have a bunch of XP candies or Rare Candues, you’ll have to tolerate the first Pokemon in your party being fully evolved likely before your other members, and that is a chore
I think you've got that flipped around. Starters are all in the Medium Slow level-up group with limited exception since Pokémon in the Medium Slow group gain levels _faster_ early on than Pokémon in other groups. If your starter was of a pseudo-legendary line, it'd level up more slowly than other Pokémon early on except those in the Erratic group, so you'd be stuck with an underperforming Pokémon while others on your team level up and evolve faster.
I've only ever played the first 3 generations of Pokemon, I actually enjoy training my Pokemon and always before the first gym my starter is at least lvl 20. In fact in my current playthrough of Fire Red my Charizard was at level 38 before Misty's Gym. My other team members were around lvl 20. Before the Elite Four my Charizard was lvl 75 and the rest of my team at least level 40.
I've found that when I was younger I would only use very specific pokemon I liked on my team, but after watching a bunch of videos like this I've begun to start liking other pokemon a lot more like electivire and misdreavus because of how unique I'm realizing some of them are. It really makes playthroughs a lot more fun :)
I always had a thing for using pseudo legendaries on my team and yet I always wished one day we would get one pseudo legendary without the use of dragon type
@@AdamSwyvern101 It's mostly based on an adult antlion, not a dragonfly. They're different insects, despite their similar looks. The only dragonfly Pokémon we've so far is Yanma and Yanmega.
I think because most psuedos are draconian looking, if Tropius was a third stage line (maybe with Thick Fat to help with its Fire and especially Ice weakness), it could help out a lot.
Honestly, I'm fine that we keep getting dragon psuedos: at this point I see them more as the "regional dragon". Like how we get a regional bird or bug early on, it makes sense to have a regional dragon in the late game. Yes, there was Tyranitar and Metagross, but those were during the early days when it felt like the franchise was experimenting more. Even if it's not typed as such, Tyranitar is basically still a dragon like mon: learning several dragon moves and even featuring on dragon tamer teams. While Metagross only exists in addition to Salamence already being the regional dragon (besides it might not even be native to Hoenn, since you can't find one in the wild). I would actually like if we got more cases like that: a regional dragon in addition to a differently typed high stat mon in the same gen; but I wouldn't want the different types psuedo to just erase the existence of a regional dragon for a new gen. Besides Dragons kinda need high stat members like pseudos, offensively the type kinda stinks without it. Why do you think people don't use Druddigon even with Sheer Force Life Orb hax.
i don't care quite as much (because we got a ghost and its hilarious) but my biggest issue with the dragon-typed pseudos is just that it gives the type SUCH a huge advantage. if a huge portion of your type naturally gets a 600 BST while bugs are almost entirely weak little losers that sucks. it honestly makes the dragon type kind of lame to me. like yeah, yeah, theyre the cool strong ones, whatever...
@@coatimundi69 I don't care anymore about the Dragon psuedo's either anymore at this point..we simply have too much of them as is. Like... Metagross and Tyranitar are the stand-outs because they aren't Dragon type and are my top 2 favorite Psuedo's as a result as well... and despite Goodra being a Dragon type... it is my third favorite Psuedo because it stands-out as well (Not being dual typed).
@@coatimundi69....We're not in the early gens anymore, we have several good bugs now. Even gen 1 had 500 BST ones like Scyther and Pinsir, they just didn't have good STAB moves, and that's been fixed. Even the old ones I would say are technically good, because they evolve so quickly: there is a reason it takes till near the 50s to evolve a regional dragon, could you imagine if you get something that strong at lvl 10! They fill different niches of a playthrough, and that's fine, meanwhile you usually don't even get to a psuedos levels or encounters till the post game. More work=stronger mon is not a bad formula, and we have gotten stronger late game bugs too like Volcarona, Vikavolt, Golisopod, Araquanid, Pheromosa, Buzzswole, Slither Wing etc. Not to mention U-turn is one of the most important moves ever introduced. It's not a useless type anymore, is the point. And without good stats, Dragon is kinda just a worse Ghost type in terms of nuner of strengths/weaknesses. I'd even say that Normal's lack of super-effective damage is better than Dragon gaining a weakness from being strong against itself, because that most helps non dragons using it as a coverage move. I've said it for a long time: Dragon is not a very good type, it's just made up of good individuals. I just believe it shouldn't lose its identity of getting good individuals. Like I said, I'm fine with them doing additional pseudos like Metagross to please both sides. Additionally, just because your personal favorites are the non dragon pseudos, does not mean that the dragons like Dragonite, Salamence, Garchomp, Hydreigon, the Goodras, and Dragapult are not extremely popular. I'd argue Garchomp is the single most loved pseudo of all (though begrudgingly, because my favorite is Dragonite). A lot more people seem to like strong dragons than those who dislike them.
@@pussmagic1541Sorta, pseudo legendary is a fan term as well, it's not an official category, it's just a pattern we've noticed as fans. For all we know, Game Freak might not consider pokemon like Metagross or maybe even Tyranitar to be categorized alongside these guys, it just happens to be a 3 stage with a 600 BST (Hoenn already has one, and let's be honest, Dragonite is kinda Johto 's regional dragon too with the Den, and how closely the regions intermingle; or maybe the stats don't actually matter and it's meant to be Kingdra). Archaludon also has a 600 BST, yet most people don't seem to consider it a Pseudo because it's only a two stage. Maybe Game Freak doesn't consider that a criteria, and it was intended a BB terrarium pseudo. Who knows.
Arcanine already has a great BST at 550 and good distribution and two amazing abilities. It doesn’t need an evolution. Let’s not have it outclass Entei even more. 😂
Just thinking about this bit from Bulbapedia: "In Japanese fan communities, especially in the competitive scene, the similar term 600族ぞく 600 club refers to all Pokémon that have a base stat total of 600 that are not Legendary Pokémon, Mythical Pokémon, or Mega Evolutions. This classification includes all pseudo-legendary Pokémon, but it also includes Archaludon, which is excluded from the definition of pseudo-legendary Pokémon among western fans."
I’ll give my thoughts here, on the types you chose for here but also for new pseudos of already existing types because you really should have done that anyway: Normal is definitely slaking, ursaluna is close but yeah the whole bloodmoon thing is kinda hard to shoehorn in, plus seeing its popularity in competitive, giving it and extra 50 free bst would easily make it completely busted! Lets not do that and make slaking viable, that sounds better to me lol Fighting: there are only 4 3-stage evo options here, and we can IMMEDIATELY dump pawmot out of the running. 2’11”, a pikachu clone, and way to damn friendly looking. Annihilape is too short, and like ursaluna no one wants this freak to be even more powerful than it already is! Machamp is too human, so conkeldurr is the winner here. I dont think anyone will disagree with this choice. Flying: hoo boy there are a lot of options here, but you disqualified most of them in the vid, most are basic bugs or birds, and really the only true option is the one you mentioned in the vid, corvinight. Its big, its imposing, it works, and nothing else here does. Poison: so i genuinely think crobat is a god awful pick, but really, every poison type is. What im not gunna do is force myself to pick unique pokemon like you do, because that isnt genuine. The best poison type pokemon to become a pseudo legendary is scolipede. Yes, that means in both bug and poison it is the selection, but thats because its genuinely the best option for both, no other pokemon even comes CLOSE in either type! Ground: do i even have to say it? We all know the answer right? Ima just move on. Roc….whats that? Youre one of those clueless fools that somehow stumble into the comments section despite barely having enough brainpower to remember to breathe, and you genuinely have no idea what i was talking about? Right, fine, i’ll fill you in too, even tho for 99.9% of people this will just be repeating what we already know. The only option for ground type is flygon. Its always been flygon, and will never not be flygon. Its already a dragon so that helps, its 6’7” its got the perfect amounts of opposing and cute that just fits in right next to dragonite, we all thought it was a pseudo legendary at some point when we were kids, its like haxorus in that way. The only correct answer for a new ground type pseudo legendary is flygon, anyone who claims otherwise is wrong and should be avoided at all costs. Rock (for real this time): we have a LOT of options for this one. Gigalith, garganacl, golem, coalossal, rhyperior, and aggron. We can knock out golem for being short, plus the whole alolan form thing, but its the ONLY one we can easily knock out here! All 5 of the others are very tall, the shortest being gigalith at 5’7” and the next shortest jumping to an incredible 6’11’ with aggron! Honestly, i think thats enough to count out gigalith, since that makes it easily the least monstrous of the 5. While i said i was being more genuine in my picks here, i think we’re safe in removing coalossal here, not only is a ton of its height being the stack of coal on its back, which is kinda cheating, but we have more than enough good options here we can just save him for the fire discussion later. Down to 3, and out of them, i choose aggron. We all love aggron, but unfortunately gamefreak never did, and giving him a chance to shine as the big kaiju monster he was supposed to be is kinda what we all want! Bug: as discussed, its scolipede. Not rehashing this. Ghost: while there are a few options here, i think the correct choice is obvious. Its dusknoir. Its 7’3”, its definitely intimidating, likely based on the yamawaro, at bare minimum its a ghostly cyclops, it ticks all the boxes. Steel: both corviknight and aggron return here, and theyve got some steep competition! Magnezone honestly doesnt work as well as you thought he did, hes out, but kingambit now….now theres some heat! A 6’7” shogun, he may be shorter than both of the other options, but he does have more of a mythical feel about him than the others. And that mythical feeling is actually what im arguing disqualifies corviknight, because it simply has none. It may be the largest and most imposing of the 3, but its just a metal raven, and feels a bit too basic to be a pseudo, and now that it has actual competition it just doesnt stand up to the pressure! So the question is, the standard kaiju, or the mighty shogun? Well, i did a bit more looking into aggron, and its apparently based on a SPECIFIC kaiju, the pulgasari, and there is an old monster movie of that name that the cover of which sells the kaiju thing, so honestly, im once again crowning aggron the winner! Fire: as you said, it really does just come down to magmortar and coalossal, and yeah, you made the correct choice. Coalossal is just a bit better for this role! Water: once again, i agree with your take, kingdra takes it. Not much to discuss here cuz you basically said it all. Grass: honestly, its tough. I just dont think you gave shiftry enough credit. Yeah its only 4’3”, but it feels more like the other pseudos than victreebel ever could. Honestly, its a coin flip between them, butif i was forced to choose one, it would be shiftry. Maybe just make it a tiny bit bigger in response if its that big of a problem. Electric: i agree with the electrivire pick, if we could pick mega ampharos as the permanent version that would be my choice, but its a mega so electrivire is what we go with. Psychic: finally one you didnt go over in the video! Been a hot minute! So, ruling out the very human ones, we’re left with….reuniclus……and ummm…..thats it…..but its only 3’3”…..our only other options that arent split evos are alakazam, gothitelle and hatterene….well this sucks, dont it? Even if we throw in gallade and gardevoir it wouldnt make this situation any better. Well, actually….TECHNICALLY solgaleo and lunala are a 3 stage evolution line…..no, no, thats dumb, i shouldnt have even considered it….but all these other options are all equally dumb…..yknow what, screw it, im just saying no. There is not a single option from all the psychic type pokemon that we could make into a pseudo legendary, unless we did some MASSIVE changes to the pokemon we chose. If we were FORCED to choose one with a gun to our heads, i would have to say reuniclus, but god it feels so wrong, its just so tiny!! Ice: 3 options, walrein, vanilluxe, and mamoswine. Vanilluxe is out, too short, and also way too dumb and silly. So a mammoth or a walrus? Both are just regular animals…but mammoths are huge and extinct, so mamoswine wins. Happy to have an easy one after that last fiasco. Dragon: no. We dont need one. Moving on. Dar….oh, we’re doing this joke again? It wasnt funny the first time, why are we rehashing it? Ugh, anyway, well since we’re reusing the bit we’ll reuse the choice, its flygon. We all want it to be flygon, so its flygon. Haxorus is close tho, but flygon is flygon. Dark: we only have two options, kingambit or krookodile, and im going with kingambit. Big crocodile just aint enough to feel like a pseudo legendary. I just dont know how competitive will handle the buffed up shogun…. Fairy: as you said, these options suck, and the best one is easily grimmsnarl. Id say overall you were right just about every time. Well done. Welp, this took way too much of my life that i will never get back, for a post only a few hundred people will see tops, the amount of them who will actually read it all is at most a dozen or two, and the amount of those who actually give a damn can be counted on one hand, even if you were a quadruple amputee. Still, i enjoyed this thought exercise, so whatever!
Funny thing about Scolipede is potentially based on the Shocking Pink Dragon Millipede which has a very similar color scheme (a bit more muted though) though but it is a highly poisonous species so technically could fit in with Pseudos based on that fact
5:54 this reminds me of the anime where a magnezone and meagross dueling shut down an entire city and the entire episode was spent breaking up their fight
17:50 fun fact: if you read the Gen 1 manga, you know all the Pokemon Red met in the safari zone were massive, including several ~20 ft tall Nidokings.. so yeah don’t trust pokemon sizes
@@GoinGreninja what i mean is there are a lot of people wishing both Haxorus and Volcarona to be Pseudo, which means there could be 3 if that were to happen just in Unova. The region is pretty damn stacked (especially Archeops like wtf, if they dont have Defeatist God help us)
@@axelerater I suppose. But I think only Haxorus needs the position, while Volcarona became a true Legendary Pokémon. Sadly, that's entirely impossible now...
@GoinGreninja thats actually a better idea lol. And with the current trend of legends being 550 BST (Urshifu and Ogerpon) Volcarona should really have been a Legendary, Urshifu even have a pre-evolution
13:51 That evo line is wrong, it should be three arrows from applin pointing to dipplin, flapple, or appletun, then from dipplin to hydrapple. Sry Mikey my adhd was flaring up when I saw that 😂
Hi Mikey! Great work for Pokémon geeks like us 😍 I have a new video idea in the same style: what Pokémon are the most representative or “quintessential” of every type. Which ones are the closer to the average stat spread per type (fully evolved/no fully evolved), and tie breakers can be which ones are monotype or have the vibe closest to representing that type. I got this idea while trying to see what where the first monotype Pokémon of every type… and it’s surprisingly late for flying steel and ice!
I think you should have maybe mentioned the Japanese version of pseudo-legends: the 600 Club. Very similar concept, with almost the exact same members. it’s just big imposing pokemon that aren’t legendary but do have a 600 BST. No mention of needing 3 evolutions, so it also includes Archaludon. Which I think absolutely fits.
Personally, I've always thought the 3-stage evolution thing made no sense as a criteria. Like, if it has the power, why does it matter what came before?
Even the phrase "pseudo-legendary" doesn't have anything to do with requiring a 3 stage evolution line, it just draws attention to the Pokemon's similarities to legendaries despite not being legendary. 600+ BST and slow EXP gain is pretty standard for legendaries, plus they're all very imposing and most are based on a mythical creature, also to be expected from legendaries. The association with 3-stage evolution lines is only there because until gen 9 we didn't have a 2-stage evolution line that fits the other pseudo-legendary criteria

That crobat shadow is BDSP is accurate btw.
I’m still maintain they should’ve made Volcarona a Psuedo legend if they just buffed it’s stats & gave it a middle stage evolution.
Volcarona fits so much too
Volcarona is broken enough as is, appreciate the sentiment though
Give it the Duraludon treatment
Give an evolution that just slightly stronger to fit the 600 BST and now you have A Pseudo like Archaludon (IT COUNTS AS A PSEUDO IN MY BOOK OK?)
That quiver dace is about to go crazy
Buffing Volcarona is a wild idea
Crobats silhouette is actually accurate, because according to some leaked files Crobat is actually measured from the tip of its feet to the tips of it ears, it's wings are not counted in the measurements.
So in other words, Crobats round body, not counting the wings is actually 5ft 11!
THATS A FREAKING HUGE BAT!
i do see those purple tufts on the bottom of its body to be a vestigial pair of legs since it practically gave up it's legs for a 2nd pair of wings, even still Crobat is just massive for a bat
I believe it, wild Crobat in Legends Arceus is huge.
@@DarkelefantosI was genuinely scared when I first saw an alpha Crobat in that game. It fills up the entire width of the caves. It was almost as terrifying as encountering a wild level 70 alpha Gliscor that proceeded to sweep my team while searching for the primal/origin stone.
I would be scared
@amanosatoshitranslates what ever you do definitely look up the flying fox bat
Honestly I like the idea of a “silhouette test” to determine if the species is “monstrous” or imposing enough. Like if you take the pokemon and turn them into a completely black silhouette, does it look monstrous and if so then it passes. The Crobat vs Gengar part is a great example where Gengar could be argued to be more monstrous normally, but going by silhouettes Crobat looks incredibly terrifying
The irony of Kingdra is that Gen 2 was the only generation to not have a dragon type pseudo. Picking that as the only additional pseudo would fill that hole haha
Mega Houndoom as a permanent pseudo legend would be sick af, totally here for it. I’m thinking “Houndemise.”

Yeah but magmorter got ugly lips

Congratulations! You just created Incineroar
This sounds like it would just be Incineroar 2.0 😭
solar power was awesome dude, would've been a staple of sun teams if mega char y didnt have drought. other people in the comments are saying that you're just remaking incineroar with intimidate, and they're wrong. incin has a focus on team support with intimidate, parting shot, fake out, etc. an idea i thought of is to give it an "-ate" move (refrigerate, pixilate, aerilae) called Incinerate that converts normal moves into fire type moves, and gives a 30% boost to said normal moves. since it already knows hyper voice, i feel it would fit thematically for a fire type dog to constantly howl at something until the it passes out from heat exhaustion.
if it had a competitive set, it would probably be:

“Tinkaton isn’t scary.”
Consider what made the ancestors of our species take off, our ability to make and use tools for hunting.

Because buffing stats is as simple as changing a few numbers in the code. It doesn’t affect lore, Pokémon biology, or anything like that. Changing the size of Pokemon directly alters what their initial design was and changes everything a stat change didn’t.
@Zom6ieMuffin_ He's not making a game. He's doing a fan theory. Just draw the Pokemon a little bigger. They did in the anime.
It's too human-like and cute though.

Congrats, you were one of my favorite gaming youtubers accerding to youtube, which is true!
The regional Dragon doesn't have to be a Pesudo Legendary Pokemon. There's a difference.
Who knows.
Pity Arcanine can't get a evolution and made into a pseudo as it used to be categorised as a legend.
Arcanine already has a great BST at 550 and good distribution and two amazing abilities. It doesn’t need an evolution. Let’s not have it outclass Entei even more. 😂
@ralegade7710 heck maybe we should have it as a pseudo legendary
That there hasn’t been a fairy or electric pseudo astounds me.
Yea, they could easily make an ice/fairy yeti and a Pegasus or Griffin pseudos and they could both fit fairy/flying.
3:40 is when Grunty boi shows up in the video
Spoilers >:(
There is also an “includes promotion” thing on the video which kind of gives out spoilers that grunty boi is gonna appear in the video
I think all the gens should have done what gen 3 did. one dragon pseudo, and then one non-dragon pseudo.
3:50 The first thing that came to my mind was duolingo💀
12:51 Bro naked coalossal looks so cursed
Katie be killing it with the timing of the Markiplier edits
I love all these new edits! I don’t know if it was Katie or someone else but props to you editor!
I feel like Ferrothorn could’ve worked for the grass type pseudo but that might just be me 🤷🏻♂️
11:12 IIIIIIIIIIIII’M! GONNA SWING FROM THE CHANDELIEEEEERRR!!!! FROM THE CHANDELIEEEEEEEEERRRR!!!!
Me chilling with my phudo leg
Ceiling ornament 🗿🗿🗿

The smash or pass video 😂
Was that the bite of 87
I really loved your comment at 13:31
Just thinking about this bit from Bulbapedia:
"In Japanese fan communities, especially in the competitive scene, the similar term 600族ぞく 600 club refers to all Pokémon that have a base stat total of 600 that are not Legendary Pokémon, Mythical Pokémon, or Mega Evolutions. This classification includes all pseudo-legendary Pokémon, but it also includes Archaludon, which is excluded from the definition of pseudo-legendary Pokémon among western fans."
Loved the edition work in this video, congrats to KeeLoker (and Michael, of course)!
I’ll give my thoughts here, on the types you chose for here but also for new pseudos of already existing types because you really should have done that anyway:
Normal is definitely slaking, ursaluna is close but yeah the whole bloodmoon thing is kinda hard to shoehorn in, plus seeing its popularity in competitive, giving it and extra 50 free bst would easily make it completely busted! Lets not do that and make slaking viable, that sounds better to me lol
Fighting: there are only 4 3-stage evo options here, and we can IMMEDIATELY dump pawmot out of the running.
True
5:54 this reminds me of the anime where a magnezone and meagross dueling shut down an entire city and the entire episode was spent breaking up their fight
that fact that Crobat is bigger then Noivern is insane to me 💀
With every video ever since october, Michael has been gradually necoming more and more unhinged and I'm here for it
17:50 fun fact: if you read the Gen 1 manga, you know all the Pokemon Red met in the safari zone were massive, including several ~20 ft tall Nidokings.. so yeah don’t trust pokemon sizes
I am freezing, all the dragon pseudos.
I'm also freezing IRL. It is really cold
It’s still a crime that they didn’t make haxorous a pseudo legend
Then Unova would have 3 Pseudos lol (Volcarona)
@@axelerater Volcarona isn't one. Maybe it was planned at some point in the beta, but it's definitely not now.
I ain't counting Archaludon until they give Duraludon a preevo, then I'll gladly include it.
