I think I dodged a bullet. I ended up ordering a bunch of components from a few difference suppliers and built my own system.
the PC from Canada Computers would have to have an actual issue, be it physical damage or electrical damage. I've purchased items from Canada Computers locally and I always ask about return/warranty. When I bought a Gskill Flare X ram kit in January 2021. I was informed if the ram kit is damaged they would take back for exchange, but if the RAM isn't recognized by the mobo that's different...if the RAM is working when tested on their test bed..no refund or exchange. RAM compatibility is not covered in the warranty policy as an example. Physical defects and electrical defects are.
I'm getting a lot of value out of Canada Computers last 6 months. Did a build in Nov, got all parts from them, no issues (aside from a mistake I made in cpu fan choice, which they let me exchange for the right one, easy). Picked up 2x MSI Katana gf76 12ue (last ones in Canada they had in stock save for Open box now, lol), LG soundbars x2, buncha peripherals etc They're reaaaally competitive on their pricing, considering it's brick n' mortar store and you have the item in your hands immediately (huge bigup draw for me, that, over online shopping), huge selection and shit man, one of the few remaining pc parts stores around these days (best buy can suck my nutz) Side note, that AE machine is surprisingly deece, I could never trust an overseas pre-built (or any prebuilts really rofl) Great video, great presentation as always!
I think it would be cool to see a budget upgrade video on these prebuilts. What could you do with maybe $100 to improve coolers and case airflow? How do they compare once you've enabled XMP on both systems? Would the performance improvement be worth the extra money?
I think you may have stumbled upon an untapped video series- I have visions of a pre-built bloodsport reboot with the winner to be named Jean-Claude Van Damme
This is really interesting. My Armoury PC that I bought earlier this year was both more expensive and had a crappier motherboard (I mean, the DS3H WIFI V2 is okay, until you realize you can't update the BIOS on it because Gigabyte doesn't support it, so you can't upgrade to a Ryzen 5000 CPU). The CPU cooler though was way better than the tiny thing they put in yours, but it's literally the stock cooler for the 3700X (which happens to be a pretty good air cooler actually, my temps weren't bad at all before I updated to an AIO) so it's not like there was actual extra cost there.
I live in Quebec and I have to agree... Canada Computers are an excellent computer chain. They sell parts for MSRP. For a friend, I got a motherboard, CPU and GPU combo at MSRP Prices, which was a Ryzen 3600 + decent mobo + GTX3060 for 1000something CAD. This was when everyone except CC and Bestbuy was selling the GPU alone for 1000+$CAD. Sadly those 2 were always, always out of stock.
That's really good that the local pre-built was able to be so competitive on price. You would have expected the base cost before shipping at least would have been cheaper for the Aliexpress one since the parts are made in China generally
80c in games is what my cooler was doing when it wasn't secured properly, it's a pretty sad number tbh. I'd be curious what temps this would get in a cinebench test. 3600 is not an overly hot cpu either.
Ummm. Thanks to this video I checked my ram. I have been using this pc for over a year now.... and I just went to my bios to change the speed to what it should be ^^' :D
I think XMP were turned off because of ram overclocking warranty issues. Does it or does it not violate it? I think NZXT got a bit of a flak on that matter
The biggest difference will be with after-sales support. With the AE one, it arrived damaged, and they couldn't do much about it, so if it developed a fault, you would be on your own to fix it. At least with the local company, it's easier to get support, and you should have consumer legislation protecting you if they turn out to be shits, at the very least you can go and make a scene :)

Side note, that AE machine is surprisingly deece, I could never trust an overseas pre-built (or any prebuilts really rofl)
Great video, great presentation as always!
I think it would be cool to see a budget upgrade video on these prebuilts. What could you do with maybe $100 to improve coolers and case airflow? How do they compare once you've enabled XMP on both systems? Would the performance improvement be worth the extra money?
Yes! I really like this idea, too!
In your captures of BF5, the CC was running dx11 and the AE was running dx12. If you ran the CC at dx 12, it would be the same fps as the AE one..
Love it dawid
I think you may have stumbled upon an untapped video series- I have visions of a pre-built bloodsport reboot with the winner to be named Jean-Claude Van Damme
Those Kurzgesagt posters levelled up my appreciation for this channel
In Slovakia (my country) we have the same pc but with 1TB SSD for 1569€ with tax.
WOW NO BLOATWARE MERCH?! EPIC 10/10 MARVELOUS! A CROWNING ACHIEVEMENT!
Great Video Dawid. You just sold me on the CC Pre-Built.
McAfee will be reaching out to sponsor soon, I can feel it in my bones.
And Warranty would be a lot of trouble with the AE system
Warranty? What warranty would be the better question
You have a future as a comedy writer and/or actor, amazing.
Ummm. Thanks to this video I checked my ram. I have been using this pc for over a year now.... and I just went to my bios to change the speed to what it should be ^^' :D
Would love to buy one of your t shirts, but unfortunately my chassis has too much bloat ware. love your channel.
I think XMP were turned off because of ram overclocking warranty issues. Does it or does it not violate it? I think NZXT got a bit of a flak on that matter
I like seeing these weird unknown brand prebuilts because you never know what to expect
Armoury is decently known in Canada
Another great video from David. But I was missing the RGB control on the Canada Computer, since it was mentioned on the other computer
If only we could get this kind of moose boy build for these prices in the UK
UK is quite good for pre builds PC Specialist will be as good as the Canada one
It’s also in French for the viewers from Quebec.
> Seen by a French Belgian from Europe.
Anybody else want to see Dawid host a "Waterboarding PC build-off"?
The biggest difference will be with after-sales support. With the AE one, it arrived damaged, and they couldn't do much about it, so if it developed a fault, you would be on your own to fix it. At least with the local company, it's easier to get support, and you should have consumer legislation protecting you if they turn out to be shits, at the very least you can go and make a scene :)
"both cases have front panel airflow that's about as restricted as a catholic school's dresscode"
😂😂
