"When going toe-to-toe with some evenly matched AI as the sun sets through the trees, Assetto Corsa Competizione's console version settles into a pretty satisfying groove. There's a very positive emphasis on consistency and racecraft here, and the deep driver rating system is very granular and appraises every move you make. The spotter functionality that calls out opponents within close proximity is also worth a late mention and contributes to some good, clean racing. Luke is perhaps my favorite narrator. I always feel as though he honestly believes whatever it is he is saying, and that he knows what he is talking about. Plus he just comes off as fair.

If they can sort the performance out, you console guys will have a great time with this SIM. The driving physics are the best out there bar none, even iRacing is lagging behind ACC

@@Yahya-X It depends on what you want out of it, in terms of Physics GT isn't in the same league as ACC. ACC has dynamic timne of day and weather transitions, if ultimate realsim is what you want then ACCA is the one for you. GT is more of an all rounder, with a lot of content.
I love it! I have a PS4 Pro, and I literally had a shitty grin on my face after 4 hours of playing ACC. The sound, physics, and sheer raw thrill you get can’t compare to GT Sport or PC2. I’m a long time sim player coming from GT2 and Race 07’, and I felt like I took a trip down memory lane regarding the immersion and overall experience. I also grew up around the Hockenheim track back home for 18 years, and the sound is dead spot on. Yes, the FPS needs tweaking, but it’s minimal to almost nonexistent once you get into the sim. I bought the game to play, not to watch the details, trees, and butterflies floating around. I'm very grateful that Kunos made a version for console. For those complaining that it’s “unplayable” are probably the same people that complained during Xmas that they didn’t get the toy they asked for. That’s my $0.2
ACC is doing very well, but I wouldn't say even iRacing as if that's the benchmark. They still have massive problems in the handling department, I still enjoy it through, but I race leagues in almost all Sims.
I have it on PC at 144fps and its brilliant.
I've never understood why someone plays simulators in thirdperson.
I like to see my car, cuz if you have just the dash then what's the point in having different cars if you can't see them?

For everyone who's disappointed with fps, since update 1.03, ACC on PS4 Pro and Xbox One X now has unlocked fps beyond 30. Not really 60 fps but still you can drive at 40-50 fps now.

Finally! Someone mentioned Driveclub’s stunning visuals. The frames stay steady the whole time unlike games like Assetto corsa
In car view I believe steering Gamma, sensitivity and another setting in there will cure the wheel from looking like it is turning at light speed and when you figure those settings at high speed it won't be so touchy
The issue with the ridiculously twitchy steering animations was there in the first AC too. The speed of the movement of your driver's hands makes him look like he's having a seizure.
there is really nothing that can be done about that without having the wheel just completely not reflect where your tires are pointed at all.

@@Fernando-mn7xp graphics are bad, but at least the FPS is stable now. Online can still be a little bit buggy, ie cars spawning into each other at the start of a race. The actual racing tho is not buggy. I’d recommend getting it on sale instead of full price.
That aside the physics are fantastic, best GT3 experience you can get on console by far

If you turn steering help off in the controller settings, the animation is a lot smoother and natural looking. It helped my game a lot. Also with this setting on, it also feels like there are two drivers fighting over the wheel, with it disabled, gives a smoother and definitely more in control feel. Hope this info helps, way more enjoyable then...
Even the original Assetto is like that, even after playing racing sims for 20 years it felt so sensitive that I never thought I'd master it and I spent two days crashing. But when you've learnt to make more delicate inputs and concentrating then it's helluva rewarding ( I don't have a wheel - use the game pad ). Now I can't even go back to Forza and the like, the controls feel slow and wooden.
Definitely get this game on PC if you can, it's incredible on there. Kunos clearly doesn't have enough experience making console ports and it shows. I honestly don't know why they even bothered.

I've got this on the standard PS4 and I'm finding it brilliant. I got the FFB real nice for my liking and other wheel settings preset for each of the cars. The 30FPS isn't an issue for me my eyes adjusted very quickly, and personally haven't noticed any frame rate drops while driving. I'm having a ball
30fps, lmao!!! That's where I found out your comment is ridiculous. FYI, racing games benefit MOST with higher framerates. I'm talking 100-144fps+. Anything below that is a disservice to modern simming.

Hows it stand up to AC with the mod suite, including AI, shaders and weather/time of day?
Chase cams are for games like need for speed and forza.
If you can't get used to cockpit or dashcam you won't get far when it comes to lap times when it comes to Sims like ACC.
Meh, you need a very wide screen for cockpit view to be effective

I think half of players (including me) have the same issue with wheels tbh.... one fix is to drive out the pit lane with pad and and then connect the wheel. Works most of the time.

I really feel this is a few patches away from a 9/10. If they can just sort the FPS and input lag we'll be laughing.

Is there anything you are racing for? Like trophies, some type of in game currency, or just ratings? Do you unlock stuff as you progress? Or is this just straight up racing for lap times and no progression system.
It is a simulation and not really a typical race car game. The rating system, as the video pointed out, is very granular and gives you something to constantly improve on. It has a career mode that moves through seasons and a championship mode that puts together various race weekends for you. But, if you don't get a thrill from long races, hot lapping until you have shaved another 0.4 off your time, testing changes made to a suspension, and generally having to think like a GT3/4 driver about everything from fuel consumption/map to how much tread you want to use up in qualifying, then this isn't for you. There aren't any gold stars or upgrades to work towards, just the satisfaction of knowing you are a better driver than you were last month.
I really hope they fix the input lag when you're playing with a wheel.

I have this on PC and its still basically early access so this console version was not ready for launch yet so this on console is early early access at best.
man, laguna seca raceway. back in the Playstation early days of Gran Tourismo, i mustve raced hundreds of real world hours on the track. they had the 4 or 8 hour (real time) races.
Is there free roam in the ps5 version?
My favorite part of the game is probably kyalami, its very fun to drive on a local track!
I know I wish F1 could race here at Kyalami it would be great for us South Africans

Kunos/505 Games has yet to master console ports of Assetto Corsa. Slightly Mad Studios had prior console experience while developing NFS SHIFT 1&2 so that's why Project Cars 1&2 had no problem porting from PC to actual gaming systems.

Racing was one of thee first games I liked when started gaming, this one here is pretty Hardware Demanding, and i-5 8600k - 16GB Ram - GTX 1070 8GiG's, that's pretty high mid Level.
i5-8600k and 1070 is low-end of mid-range. Common mid-range is i7-8900k+ and a 2060 or better. Those are soon to be on the low-end of mid range too with Ampere coming out in November.
It's borderline unplayable on xbox x, unless you really like migraines due to shocking frame pacing.

@Gary Kelly This is entirely true! I have it on PS4 Pro and PS4 - I played it on Pro for a few hours , then later on was banished to the spare room on the base PS4 - it was immediately noticeable that it was smoother and had a higher frame rate!!!!!!
@@ScowlerJase i saw that too! I similarly had to go to the spare room to continue playing on the base PS4 and i really noticed the difference.
I didnt know that i thought ps4 pro and one x has better performance , maybe it look better in original ps4 and xbox one cause it they have poorest graphics than xbox one x or ps4 pro and the performance is better.
@@FormulaProg So then all those videos showing the frame pacing during frame rate analysis are lying.....you're either blind, or running some silly frame rate interpolation mode on your display, it's far from perfect.

It's not just consoles, I have it on PC and in 4k with an rtx2080ti it struggles... Kunos are not great at optimisation.
I play it with a gtx 1070 at 1080p and I have no problems at all

@@Sbinott0 It is, this is the most powerfull GPU on the market or second best if you want to count the Titan RTX. Not to mention I paired it with 9900k. We are talking about a car game, not an open world... Kunos are just not the best at optimisation.

Why is it that modern games still have issues with the framerate. Out of everything regarding the design and technicalities of a released title one of the major most noticeable epic fails always seems to come down to the low or inconsistent framerate.
This game is more of a pc title so it’s very demanding on console. When they ported this to consoles they sacrificed frame rate to keep the same physics as pc
Because they all use Unreal Engine.

Do yourself a favour. Get Assetto Corsa then download Content Manager, Custom Shaders Patch & Sol. You'll have a game that looks amazing & then you can find whatever track & car mods you want. The AC modding community is as big as it's ever been. A gorgeous 24hr cycle with different weather types is in the game & a proper rain mod is on it's way & looks amazing.
so exactly what is acc? as sequel type game? or is it the same ac with it just being focused on one area?
Its not a sequel, its just Assetto Corsa but with only one category of car

Alright, nice review but youre comparing this to Forza horizon 4 and saying that forza horizon 4 is locked at 30fps. This is not true. You have the option to display 60fps at 1080p with upscaling which looks equally nice. BUT, you should compare it to forza motorsport 7 which run 60fps at 4k. Not only that, but it is also more similar to this game than horizon 4.
If you don't actually watch GT World Challenge Europe religiously, then you're probably not able to relate quite as well to exactly what this game is and what it means to those that do...
At first look looks amazing..but when i put it it felt cheap..
