"Forza Horizon 5 is a deep and nuanced car nirvana for revheads and auto geeks to endlessly collect, tinker, and experiment. It’s also an extremely accessible buffet of racing spectacle open to everyone, from day one, Deluxe Edition diehards to Game Pass nomads - no matter their driving skill or mechanical knowledge. It’s an occasionally goofy but always earnest Valentine to Mexico’s world-famous culture, and a romantic ode to the magic of road-tripping through postcard-perfect vacation vistas. It’s a long haul, MMO-inspired racer that’s exploding with more races, activities, and event types than can comfortably fit on the map - and yet it still always feels relaxed rather than daunting. It never locks you into something you don’t want to do and steadily rewards you for however you choose to play it. It looks beautiful, it sounds magnificent, and it is glorious to play. Yes, Forza Horizon 5 is a lot of things. Above all, however, it is the result of a racing studio at the peak of its craft and the best open-world racing game I’ve ever played."

Every single second of Forza Horizon 5 feels like an episode of Top Gear. It's an absolute dream for anyone with even a passing interest in vehicles, and the closest thing to heaven for any and all gearheads.

That's because Japan is a racing game cliche that needs to die. Japan doesn't care about these games. Why should the games care about Japan? They prefer pokemon go, jrpg's and mobile garbage to wonderful games like this. Mexico is more varied, has better biomes, more color, and much more amazing vistas. Japan would have been boring af.

Thanks to Horizon, it raises the expectations and the bar for GTA 6. 500 cars, huge beautiful maps, a great weather system, and robust modification system.

Great review. Unlike a lot of reviewers, you actually know what you’re talking about with racing games. I’m playing this on my little Series S and it looks great and plays fantastically. A truly stunning game. Playground Games are outrageously talented - this is my GOTY for sure.

Ehh, horizon 4 was a disappointment, basically horizon 3 rebranded, different map and like 3 cars added.
Forza Motorsport 5 was rushed and underwhelming if you ask me.

Damn, as a Playstation guy, I've always dismissed Forza Motorsports in favor of GT, but at the same time had a growing curiosity/interest in Horizon. Safe to say that's ballooned into full-blown want now. This game looks incredible, as fun af. Jealous.

The writers on this review deserve a raise. The vocabukary was really rich and the sentence formations were just outstanding.
Always preferred Forza Horizon over Motorsport. The open world is way more fun and Playground knows how to keep it fresh with special events be it racing against a Plane, Hovercraft, or Warthog.
Can't wait to put 100's of hours into this game!

I’m a Gran Turismo fan myself, they’re gonna have to do something special come March 2022 if they want to compete here.
Gran Turismo 7 will not directly compete with this, since it's a circuit racer and not a freeroam game.

Forza Horizon 5 is simply great. It provides the spectacle, the fun and the focus all simultaneously, which many games fail to do. Pretty much a perfect game.

I've played Forza motorsports 3/4/5 and forza horizon 3/4. I am super excited to play 5. Truly one of my favourite franchise. Stupidly fun if you love cars.
