I think a big factor in terms of the graphics are how the graphics and textures of cars have always been done well for a long time now, and the fact that mods like csp and sol enhance the lighting, weather, grass, and add post processing effects like braking lights keeps it from looking too outdated. Add the realistic sim driving physics and the HUGE modding community and AC has the edge over other modern titles that slightly fall behind. Edit: Also RAIN/wet roads and NIGHT TIME which were both added through mods!!
@@ryder5434 the things you mod have to be in the code of the game already. Works with fallout/elder scrolls because there's so many static objects that decorate the world. Bodykits, decals and liveries is the best well get on PS racing games
If you love this game on ps4 then you MUST buy the pc version. I did and have no regrets. Much improved graphics through mods + rain and a day-night cycle and all those awesome car and track mods, infinite fun!
I still think Assetto is the best because it's like a sandbox MMORPG but in the SIM world with so much player created, used, free & paid conent that it just makes this game absolutely outstanding in almost any scenario.

You can race competitively in Assetto Corsa. There are many pages that host races and championships in very good quality. I personaly recommend SRS (Sim racing system) this page even streams some races on youtube.
Coming from Gran Turismo sport being my first racing sim, assetto Corsa feels both refreshing and restricted at the same time weirdly, drivetrain and gears aren't adjustable on all cars, same with roll bars and dampers, but there is wayyyyyyy more depth in the car feel and other things you can adjust. I just hope they bring mods over eventually, then it'll be unbeatable for console experience
For price, this one of best driving games on ps4, finesse is required just as in real racing too aggressive or not aggressive enough and you pay for it..nice game overall.
Yeah, although most standard cars on ps4 aboslutely suuuuck... And theres not too many gp tracks. its kinda lost its purpose for me, cause i have acc for anything gt3/gt4 and gt7 for all the rest(even tho its not really a sim, but it still beats ac with anything online)
It is pretty sad that AC has the best singleplayer content that simracing has to offer. Hopefuly AMS2 and upcoming AC2 will improve that. I am not expecting new Forza to be simulation suddenly. Regarding multiplayer… Honestly, the automatic matchmaking system is just creating toxic environment regardless of game genre. In simracing iRacing is prime example of that. Custom servers always beat it in terms of quality of experience.
DLCs are mandatory even for some base game content. Some newer base game challenges use DLC cars and the challenge won’t load successfuly without them.
Mods can be found all over the place! A good place is Racedepartment. www.racedepartment.com/forums/assetto-corsa-mods.36/ Some mods also have their own websites, discord servers etc. You won't find them on steam though.
Absolutely. It is a great way to get into sim racing! you should check out ACC (assetto corsa competizione) too. It is sort of a 'sequel' however limits you to GT3 and GT4 cars only. More realistic handling and graphics though. But you can't go wrong with either. Just be aware that you can't mod them so you get what you get! (if it's reasonably priced, I hugely recommend getting the ultimate edition as you get lots more cars and some more tracks!) ((you can buy it as an ad-on too if you get the base game first))
Asetto corsa is an awesome simulator. Compared to that they should support consoles the same way they do the PC version...that means there should be mods on consoles too the same way..this would be a must This is the only disappointing fact about AC
If anybody plays this, on PS4/5 and use Logitech g29, could you be so kind, as to list your wheel settings? I ask because my wheel don’t turn properly and I slide off track. Only games I have working 100% is dirt rally and dirt 4. I don’t remember changing and settings for Dirt4 but Logitech helpline helped me get dirt rally working good. Only reason I have not called again for assistance getting Assetto Corsa, is because me and tech guy was going through and changing so many settings, before we got it working and to be honest it was a bit annoying and it seemed that he was also getting frustrated lol. I just really want to play my other racers and bloody can’t because wheel won’t work properly
I don't no if this is allowed but there is a vid on the Karl Gosling YT channel where he has a good basic setup for the Logitech G29/G920 wheel with a good explenation.

I’ve heard some say that I can plug my wheel, in to pc and change/correct settings, then plug back into Ps5 and settings will remain. Most say that is not true and the settings will only carry over to pc and not PlayStation.
You'll always have to setup your wheel first with the Logitech Hub software on a PC after that you can adjust the wheel in the settings menu in AC on your PS5

Of course, I’d love to change it but I don’t even know what to set it for rally, F1 etc. 500 degrees, 900 , I really don’t know and I don’t drive in real life.
It's not that hard. Make sure that the G29 wheel is on 900 degrees and push the brake pedal to what feels good to you. Don't force it. Between 30% and 50% is enough. Good luck with setting up/calibrating your Logitech wheel.
Competizione has better physics and graphics and is more focused for 'hard-core' sim racing. Assetto Corsa is much broader in terms of car and track selection. If on PC you can mod the hell out of it as I explained - pretty much any car and track/map is possible! Graphics mods are also very effective. So it just depends on what you want! Hello! My brother just purchased this game but I'm having trouble with the gameplay. You see, everytime I take a corner, the trail assist turns dark green for some reason, and I can't steer the car properly, it feels stiff while making a turn, but once I hit the straight line, the steer gets loose and the car start turning like crazy. Why is this? Is there any assist I need to disable? I cannot enjoy the game like this, I just want to drive on my own without any assist messing the game up.

You can mod in many f1 cars including the most recent. Also some indycars. Without modding on console, you can get some F1 cars yes. Buf the choice is more limited.

@@declanrose5418 only free roam on ps4 are nfs payback and heat as far as I know. Payback has nice arcedy driving but the car upgrading sucks. You unlock upgrade cards that combine stuff like acceleration, speed, breaking, and so on instead of real motorparts like heat for example. They come in a few level tiers and are only valid for one car. If you want to upgrade a new car you have to do all races all over again and sell the lower level cards to buy new ones for each higher level race. It's doable but it totally sucks. Feels more like a mobile game than a console game. Still have to try Assetto Corsa but my advice, get NFS Heat for roaming, and Project Cars game of the year or PC2, or maybe this one ultimate edition, for circuit racing or cars you like that aren't in Heat. If you want online only then GT Sport Or 7, no free roam.
Doesnt really look that much better than Gran Turismo 1 to be honest. Yeah graphics are better, but not one has made a ground breaking racing game (and games is what they are) since the original Gran Turismo.
This is basically just an advert. People have shown time and again that these "cockpits" and "racing wheels" are no faster than using a ps4 controller. It's all just to waste your money and make you buy into the lie. They are games and therefore a controller is fine.
I tried it in the last few days on Xbox. It's mostly just random lobby's and not too many of them. But I have mainly only been driving around on Nordschleife online. There is quite a difference in drivers quality (controller vs wheel). I would say make friend with other drivers with similar pace as you (or faster) and make a lobby yourselves so you can make up your own choices of cars for that lobby. Instead of being at the mercy of whoever created the lobby. I do get the impression there are people out there (like me) that plays Assetto Corsa only to lap Nordschleife... (as these lobby do tend to fill up to maximum). I play with controller myself, and before i could drive anything at decent pace, i had to mess about finding the right controller settings first.
I will never understand how this feels anything like a simulation game to most people, it all feels like an old school arcade game that you would put a quarter in to play
It is only true if you play with the default controller settings. I'm now doing 8:10's on Nordschleife Tourist in a Skyline R34 with standard XB1X controller on console.
lol already at 0:35 you lost all credibility.... it is not realistic, and handles like garbage, the physics are an industry worst. That is unless you call it a simcade, then it's not the worst, but the physics are still the most jank out there This opinion is based on me looking for a new racing game to get into, and didn't include any modding
I have been driving Assetto Corsa for about a month. Now, I get all the way to the drivers seat on my selected road, and none of the controls work. I hear the audio just fine. My hands don't leave the wheel to change gears and the throttle does not work. Everything else seems fine. Any thoughts?
To be honest, some of the cars are pretty trash. If you are a beginner, avoid supercars without wing. Go for small cars or for straight up race cars with big wings. They are much more fun to drive for a beginner.
The singleplayer content is very barebones compared to more mainstream titles. It is good if you compare it to other simracing games. Graphics are from 2013, you cannot expect mirracles.
ACC(assetto corsa competizione) is GT3 and GT4 racing only. They are the only cars you can drive. It is newer so more realistic and better graphics 'out the box'. ACC cannot be modded on PC though. You can always just buy it on PC. The game is nearly 10 years old and I feel like most PCs nowadays could run it.

For modding levels, there low, medium, high, very high.
and then there's Assetto Corsa. Its a level of its own. It defines the game.

All those videos use modded UI and mods for night/rain.
The game was designed from ground up to me modable, so even devs expect mods to be used.

grabbed it for 6.99 & then decided to upgrade my PS Plus to premium for 9.97 & grabbed Competizione for free
The handling isn’t a patch on ACC. But still enjoying the game.

This game Is d best better than gt very realistic and feel of driving the cars are stick to d ground gt seems like they not good in corners a bit slower to be honest I don't like it that much I bought assetto all ads on and full game it cost me 75euros but its worth it yul never get tired of it amazing game

@@declanrose5418 only free roam on ps4 are nfs payback and heat as far as I know. Payback has nice arcedy driving but the car upgrading sucks. You unlock upgrade cards that combine stuff like acceleration, speed, breaking, and so on instead of real motorparts like heat for example. They come in a few level tiers and are only valid for one car. If you want to upgrade a new car you have to do all races all over again and sell the lower level cards to buy new ones for each higher level race. It's doable but it totally sucks. Feels more like a mobile game than a console game.
Still have to try Assetto Corsa but my advice, get NFS Heat for roaming, and Project Cars game of the year or PC2, or maybe this one ultimate edition, for circuit racing or cars you like that aren't in Heat.
If you want online only then GT Sport Or 7, no free roam.

Doesnt really look that much better than Gran Turismo 1 to be honest. Yeah graphics are better, but not one has made a ground breaking racing game (and games is what they are) since the original Gran Turismo.

This is basically just an advert. People have shown time and again that these "cockpits" and "racing wheels" are no faster than using a ps4 controller. It's all just to waste your money and make you buy into the lie. They are games and therefore a controller is fine.
Anyone play ac on console? How’s the online life?
I tried it in the last few days on Xbox. It's mostly just random lobby's and not too many of them. But I have mainly only been driving around on Nordschleife online. There is quite a difference in drivers quality (controller vs wheel). I would say make friend with other drivers with similar pace as you (or faster) and make a lobby yourselves so you can make up your own choices of cars for that lobby. Instead of being at the mercy of whoever created the lobby. I do get the impression there are people out there (like me) that plays Assetto Corsa only to lap Nordschleife... (as these lobby do tend to fill up to maximum).
I play with controller myself, and before i could drive anything at decent pace, i had to mess about finding the right controller settings first.

It is only true if you play with the default controller settings. I'm now doing 8:10's on Nordschleife Tourist in a Skyline R34 with standard XB1X controller on console.
Guys I have played Gran Turismo, Toca, WRC, formula 1,need for speed, truly speaking this game really sucks.
Only on pc its not same on console its just is not that great on console. But its really great on pc

lol already at 0:35 you lost all credibility.... it is not realistic, and handles like garbage, the physics are an industry worst. That is unless you call it a simcade, then it's not the worst, but the physics are still the most jank out there

I have been driving Assetto Corsa for about a month. Now, I get all the way to the drivers seat on my selected road, and none of the controls work. I hear the audio just fine. My hands don't leave the wheel to change gears and the throttle does not work. Everything else seems fine.
Any thoughts?

To be honest, some of the cars are pretty trash. If you are a beginner, avoid supercars without wing. Go for small cars or for straight up race cars with big wings. They are much more fun to drive for a beginner.

The singleplayer content is very barebones compared to more mainstream titles. It is good if you compare it to other simracing games.
Graphics are from 2013, you cannot expect mirracles.

ACC(assetto corsa competizione) is GT3 and GT4 racing only. They are the only cars you can drive. It is newer so more realistic and better graphics 'out the box'. ACC cannot be modded on PC though.
