Way back when the Wallflowers released this song in 1996, like most of the world, had never heard of them, much less knew that Jakob Dylan was the lead singer. From the first time I heard it, the driving backbeat, the hook of the keyboard intro, then the vocals... even then I thought "Man, this sounds like something that Bruce Springsteen would perform." Just weird that my thoughts had come true on the VMAs that year. I guess I wasn't the only one (including Bruce) that thought so. Straightforward rock and roll. And over 27 years later, this song - and this collaboration - still rocks.

My late brother loved this performance saying that Bruce told them how must be done with a solo guitar

I love this song, but what I love about his clip has nothing to do with the song - people forget, but Bruce had been on a LONG sabbatical contemplating retirement before this happened. The first verse, you can kind of see him just going through the motions, making sure he was doing ok. Even the first verse he sings is pretty subdued (for him) - but then he hits the guitar solo and completely takes the song away and makes it his own (it's clear the line "I ain't changed but I know I'm know I'm not the same" means a lot to him). After that, you can see him being reminded how much he loves performing and twenty years later, he's never looked back.

It was a great VMA´s I also remember Marilyn Manson´s first TV Live performance to end the show, shocking for all the crowd in the theater! Host Chris Rock said for good night "run to church right now or you´re going to hell!" XD XD
