I remember hearing this song constantly on the radio back when I was fifteen or sixteen years old. I didn't realize it then but this kind of music was definitely 90s music, because you just don't hear music like this anymore. Sad but true in my opinion
Guitar player absolutely nailed this performance. The arpeggios, slide, and playing in the perfect in-betweens at a sped up, commercial TV pace. Very nice. The whole band is killing it here. Love how the pace puts the lyrics at more of a spoken word delivery. Really great.
Michael Ward guitars are not replaceable , this guy may nailed it for you, but it doesn't sound like Michael, as well this drummer... real Wallflowers were the first line up...
I saw them on the OG tour for this album. One of the most professional sounding bands I've ever seen live. Tone for days and left enough room for all of instruments to have their highlight moments.
I’ve seen allot of performers and this band was the best he stayed after and didn’t leave till everyone got there cd signed he is a real classy performer
Que joyaa porfavor. !! Corria el año 1997..tan solo tenia 15 años Que pasadaa.! Jamas olvidaré esta gran banda y este pedazo de temaa 90s x siempreee. !
Incredible band: the music is so rockinly tight; it just expertly grabs you and throws you around joyously. The Dylan-does-Bruce vocals do the same thing. Okay okay, shoot me, but I'm younger than that now: that's what I feel and love about em. and y'know, probably everyone else is probably thinkin the same thing, but hey-so freakin what?? The vocals and the music right here are just great, period. In the moment. Now. Right when you're hearing em. Into their mystic.
Damn...great comment...in the 90s it sounded like he was barely trying....now it sounds like he's trying way too hard....since he's outta money doing the only live gig you can find of them 20 years after they were relevant....- Bob Dylan's nephson
I think what it was that the audience started it all off with that fast upbeat tempo with the clapping and the band went with it. Whether the band did it on purpose or not......
Feels like maybe bc this was their best and most popular that they took it for granted. Don’t take the song for granted guys. It’s better than that and so are you.
Not nearly as good as Michael Ward, the player for the Wallflowers peak period. Jakob fired him for stealing his thunder. Fucking big ego on Dylan. Wallflowers now are basically him and anyone that can stand to play with him, he’s pushed everyone out because Jakob’s ego is so huge. Funny in that his dad will be remember forever but his son will be forgotten in 50 years.
When an artist butchers their own song, I get a feeling that they didn't feel the same way about their song as I did. Thank you for the wonderful song that I get to enjoy more than you do. =)
People need to realize that there is a time crunch when it comes to bands playing on tv shows. Every band I've seen play on shows like this are always faster tempos.
I've been looking for this song for 28 years and today, March 13, 2024, I finally found it, literally the joy is incalculable

Same. Driving to and from school in my first car

Brings me back to my childhood
"I ain't changed, but I know I'm not the same" is right of out his Dad's playbook. Well done, your Grace

sad but true is a nice 90s song btw
I agree with you. Been playing drums for 40- years and it feels like our music has disappeared

Organ on fire 🔥 too
Who is he?(lead player)

Michael ward didn’t even play the original studio version my guy…

Listening to this song can pull me through any crisis going on!
Feel the same! One headlight symbolising resilience and empathy has run dry.
Probably only had so much time
Because it was on tv. Still a nice version. Love me some Wallflowers
Cómo una canción puede transportarte a la mejor época de tu vida...
Verdadeira máquina do tempo!
Si bro una de mis bandas preferidas

Perfection. The tempo and other embellishments definitely kick this up to another level.❤ it!😊

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! I think they’re doing a hell of a great job!!
They guy can barely sing and the band sound a little hurry.
Great job guys!
Anyone who actually drove home with one Head Light will appreciate this song
this was Jacobs finest hour..this song is awesome and I wish I seen more!! Jacob is a splitting image of his dad Bob Dylan

he really does sound like is old man,has his dads take on music, play it different everytime, keep it unique
Wow! Que extraordinaria banda una de mis favoritas y una gran canción...Saludos desde San José Barquisimeo Venezuela...!
Love the keyboard work in this song.
I always wondered what this song would sound like if the lyrics were just casually spoken. Now I know.

Great song! Love how they pepped it up!

This song used to freak me out at a kid; it felt like what an adult must be like and it wasn’t a good thing to look forward to.
wow ...that sound of the guitar at the right !....perfect set-up !
Saw them at BeachFest in 2021. They were fantastic.

Me too
Dylan hates this song... he wanted to get it over with
Yeah, they're driving pretty fast for having only one headlight.
They did a speedrun of their own song 😂

High & tight. Got it all rock together. Growing up, there were guitars 'lying all over his house.'

the guitar player is kinda amazing

Agreed. Tempo did not do it any favors
the truth you're right man, lost the essence of the music
I was thinking the same! Feels rushed
Yeah, the drums intro reminded me of Garbage's "Stupid girl"
Blame the drummer...
This music is STILL _good for the soul_ ;)
That keyboard player looks like the guy that tours with Foo Fighters.
